Grace Gods all sufficient grace. Who can sound its depths or who can fathom its limits? Tireless and eternal is Gods grace. 2 Corinthians 12:9 My grace is sufficient for thee.

This is it! Except you forgot obedience? No talk of obedience?

His mercy an grace is meant to lead us to repentance and obedience...
And Christians repented of our dead works of self-righteousness (Heb 6:1) when we first received Christ.

Rom 1:5
Through Him we have received grace and apostleship for obedience to the faith among all nations for His name,

Rom 5:2
through whom also we have access by faith into this grace in which we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Gal 3:12
The law is not of faith.

But legalists are disobedient. They reject God's grace.
Instead they preach that our righteousness is determined/evidenced by works of the law.

We are completely unworthy and deserve hell. The law cannot be kept. You are already guilty of breaking it, will break it tomorrow. I feel pretty fortunate to have favor with Jesus. Without Him I'm a goner. As an aside, those of you who think perfection is attainable in these earthly bodies isn't raising children.
there's so much wrong in this couple sentences... it's sad so many people think that way.

but since you stated a falsehood, and since abba said to reply, i reply --

as it is written

"raise up a child in the way he should go, and when he is older he will not depart from it".

just because the whole world disobeys, doesn't mean that you should continue to disobey. instead, turn to yahweh in yahshua,

and start to do what he says plainly. if he thinks you're true in heart, truly repentant, he will talk with you and help you.

You will have to excuse others after this thread you have posted and the recent otheryou posted inferring we are not to love the law (commandments) of God if I think they are both designed to cause dissention and divsision. Gorgive me if my understanding is not correct. I am in Christ, but not yet perfected as are some, thusI believe we are to consult the law spiritually that lives in us as we walk in grace being perfected by the Great I Am until His glorious Day. God bless all in Jesus Christ......amen.

OK see you on that thread...but you understand that their should be thread where folks can rejoice in the Lord and the beauty of His grace , without having to hear all the contention that goes along with the debate between law and grace?

Isayah 53, "Who has believed our report? To whom is the arm of Yahweh יהוה revealed? For He will grow up before Him as a tender plant, and as a root out of a dry ground. He has no form nor comeliness; and when we see Him, there is no beauty that we should desire Him. He is despised and rejected by men; a man of sorrows and acquainted with grief. And we hid, as it were, our faces from Him; He was despised, and we did not esteem Him. Surely He has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed Him stricken, smitten by Yahweh יהוה , and afflicted. But He was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities; the chastisement for our peace was upon Him, and by His stripes we are healed. All we like sheep have gone astray; we have turned, every one, to his own way; and Yahweh יהוה has laid on Him the iniquity o us all. He was oppressed and He was afflicted, yet He opened not His mouth. He was led as a lamb to the slaughter, and as a sheep before its shearers is silent, so He opened not His mouth. He was taken from prison and from judgment, and who will declare His generation? For He was cut of from the land of the living; for the transgressions of My people He was stricken. And He made His grave with the wicked, and with the rich in His death; but He had done no violence, nor was any deceit in His mouth. Yet His bruises; (willful sacrifice), pleased Yahweh יהוה ; for He was put to much grief. Now He has brought the offering for sin. He will see His seed, He will prolong days, and the pleasure of Yahweh יהוה will succeed in His hands. He will see the labor of His soul, and be satisfied; by His knowledge My righteous Servant will justify many, for He will bear their iniquities. Therefore, I will divide Him a portion with the great, and He will divide the plunder with the strong; because He poured out His soul to death, and He was numbered with the transgressors; and He bore the sin of many, and made intercession for the transgressors."

MERCY is God taking away what we DO deserve and we deserve condemnation. GRACE is God ministering and giving to us what we DON'T deserve which is unconditional favor.

Christ's death bore our sins on his body and crucified them. His burial took those sins and buried, them never to be remembered anymore. His resurrection raised up a body with no sin so that sinners could be justifed by faith with a perfect standing before a holy God. This faith works (is energized and motivated) by the love of God, who sent his Son into the world to save sinners, who put away all sin, who destroyed the work of the devil, who saves the sinner by grace, who imputes righteousness without works and gives the gift of the Holy Spirit to shed abroad that love in our hearts.

John 1:14

14 And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.

Rom 5:2

2 By whom also we have access by faith into this grace wherein we stand, and rejoice in hope of the glory of God.

Eph 1:6,7

6 To the praise of the glory of his grace, wherein he hath made us accepted in the beloved.
7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;

Heb 2:9

9 But we see Jesus, who was made a little lower than the angels for the suffering of death, crowned with glory and honour; that he by the grace of God should taste death for every man.

Rev 22:21 (which is the last thing that God wanted us to remember through his inspired word)

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

No, what he is suggesting, and as I have read in other posts of his is that he is righteous and holy and condemnatory towards all of those who admit sin....Kind of like the Pharisees and bragging on how good they are while condemning the sinners, prostitutes and publicans that Jesus actually ate with.....Jesus said it best....he came for those who know they are sick and need a doctor...not for the hypocritical self righteous lawyers and self righteous Pharisees!

They don't realize that obedience is a gift. Just like everything else that is needful for Salvation. There is nothing in us that is deserving of this great gift.

Thank God for Jesus Christ and His Great Grace.

Matthew 11:28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.

the law of love.

Love God
Love your neighbor (anyone you come in contact with)

You mean like this?

Rom 13:9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself.

The last six of the Ten Commandments. It actually covers them all with this phrase...

Rom 13:9 ...and if there be any other commandment, ...

so,

the law says do not covet.

How, by this command, does it show me how not to covet?

Psalm 22, My Strength! My Strength! Why have You forsaken Me? O why are You so far from helping Me, and from the words of My groaning? O Yahweh יהוה I cry in the daytime and at night; I am not silent but You do not hear. But You are holy, Who have the praises of Israyl. Our fathers trusted You; they trusted You, and You delivered them. They cried to You, and were delivered; they trusted in You, and were not ashamed. But I am a worm, and no man, but despised! I am scorned by men and despised by the people. Those who see Me laugh, they shoot their lips, they shake their heads, saying: He trusted on Yahweh יהוה ! Let Him save Him! Let Him deliver Him, since He delights in Him! But You took Me from My mother's womb, Yahweh יהוה ! You made Me trust in You, even from My mother's breast. I was cast upon You from My birth; from My mother's womb, You are My Strength. Be not far from Me, for trouble is near, and there are none to help but You. Many bulls have surrounded Me; bulls of Bashan have compassed and beset Me; They gape on Me with their mouths, as ravening and roaring lions. I am poured out like water, and all My strength has left Me. My heart is like wax; it has melted within Me. My strength is dried up like a pottery sherd, and My tongue cleaves to My jaws. You have brought Me to the dust of death. For dogs and the assembly of the wicked have compassed Me. They pierced My hands and My feet; I can count all My bones. They look and stare at Me. They divide My garments among them, and for My tallit they cast lots. But You, O Yahweh יהוה , be not far from Me! O My Strength, make haste to help Me! Deliver Me from the sword, and My precious life from the power of the dog; the assembly of the wicked. Save Me from the lion's mouth, and from the horns of the wild oxen! You have answered Me, Yahweh יהוה ! All praise is Yours! I will declare Your Name to My brothers! In the midst of the congregation I will give You praise! You who reverence Yahweh יהוה , praise Him! Glorify Him, Yaaqob's seed! Reverence Him, all you offspring of Israyl! For Yahweh יהוה has not despised, He has not abhorred the affliction of the Afflicted, nor has He hid His face from Me; for when I cried to Yahweh יהוה , He heard! My praise shall be of You, O Yahweh יהוה , in the great congregation! I will pay My vows before those who reverence You! The poor shall eat and they shall be satisfied. HalleluYahweh יהוה ! Those who seek Yahweh יהוה , may they live forever! All the ends of the earth will remember and turn to Yahweh יהוה ! All the families of the Gentiles will bow down before Him; For the kingdom is Yahweh יהוה 's, and He rules over the nations! All the rich and powerful upon the earth shall eat and worship; all they that go down to the dust of the earth shall bow before Him; for Yahweh יהוה will restore them to life. A seed shall serve Him; it shall be accounted to Yahweh יהוה as a generation. They will come and declare His righteousness to a people who will be born, that He has done this!"

so,

the law says do not covet.

How, by this command, does it show me how not to covet?
By his command is sin known

Covet would be lust,

Paul says, if you walk in the Spirit you shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh

He says,

Romans 7:7 What shall we say then?

Is the law sin? God forbid.

Nay, I had not known sin, but by the law: for I had not known lust, except the law had said, Thou shalt not covet.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Its the grace of God teaching us to deny lusts

Ti 2:11
For the grace of God that bringeth salvation hath appeared to all

Ti 2:12 Teaching us that, denying ungodliness and worldly lusts, we should live soberly, righteously, and godly, in this present world;
