People brought up Christians become atheist or Muslim. People brought up in other ways end up the same. Yes, absolutely, we live in a logical society and people demand logical explanations.
We live in the most irrational era of history. People are less impressed by logic than ever before..
People abandon the faith because of sin and wickedness not because logic and reason.

We also live in the most scientifically advanced era of recorded history, that's why people are less impressed by logic... they have a lot more of it and they have their lives based around it. But that also means they demand more logic when it comes to explaining God's truth.

And I totally agree that many people do abandon faith because they just want to sin.

If that was a prayer, and not a quote from scripture, then I have mistaken, sorry.

No chapter or verse numbers which is why it can be written differently without any informal claim of being scripture.

And right there, I stopped reading. I'm so tired of arrogant jackdonkeys on this site....
I'm not the arrogant one here. I've explained to you patiently that manipulating text you are authoring is far easier than manipulating text you are translating. That's just common sense. You kept repeating the same thing over and over even though I've explained it to you clearly.

With technology doing all their thinking for them we have the most stupid generation of history.
Also Christians are more sophisticated than ever.
However Paul explains that preaching is foolishness to the world. But that is how foolishness to confound the wise. Because it is the Holy Spirit that delivers, not the cleverness of man.

Do ya really think that its logic that has people laying in the floor quivering like jello screaming about their pronouns, and micro aggressions.

Yeah, but that's a tiny percentage of the population, they are just the loudest that's why it seems there are a lot more of them.

At least we are not burning innocent people alive anymore because someone said they are a witch.

Poles show that about 20% of our general population support and approve of transgenderism. Logic or stupidity? It is wanton sin that drives apostacy

I figure a lot of those people are just surrounded by friends and family who would ostracize them if they deviate from their opinion. So it's just peer pressure. Same reason there are so many Muslims - they are either born into a Muslim family or pushed into it by Muslim friends. People want to feel accepted and it's hard to throw away your life-long relationships for a new faith. This is why apologetics are crucially important. The word of God is our sword, but a sword that's covered in rust and dirt is very ineffective in fighting evil. We need to get our swords cleaned up from all the corrupt bibles, then we can bring people back to Christ.

Which is why we need to put away clever devices of men and hold to the word of God.
And that's what the corrupted translations are, they are devices made by men who thought older manuscripts were better just because they were older.

erasmus, creator of the Textus Receptus, which is what the KJV Bible is formatted from, claimed to have used the 10th Century Latin Vulgate, which is the ""TAMPERED Version"" from the original 3rd Century one Jerome Translated. erasmus wrote, this is not a Correct Version and Legit!

but, it's millions of People's Bible now.

And Jerome and Papias both said those translating the Gospels into Greek were struggling.

so no matter what you gotta do to believe how you believe concerning the KJV Bible, keep doing it, because, it really is a horrific Translation. they use Greek Myth Words like UNICORN...as in the Power of God is equal to a Unicorn. that is Paganism and Satanism! that is what can be found 7 times in the KJV Bible. and that's just one Example.

It's not just ease of reading. The whole discussion between TR and Critical text is centered on the fact that TR is not the earliest manuscripts available. And even the Critical text came centuries after Jesus anyway, further reducing apparent trustworthiness of the Bible. TR text is in few places backed up by the teachings of the first century church fathers, so that's good, however, it's not good enough. We have more people becoming atheist then ever because they don't see enough proof of Bible being the word of God.
I watched this when I began my journey in understanding the way the Critical Text had been elevated. Even for those who disagree, it’s worth taking into account as it is better to argue against a position someone holds than one they don’t.

To narrate the discussion there seem to be a number of ideas at play, which relate to one another but can easily muddy the waters.

The first is the initial claim and the question of whether there are codes that indicate something special about the authorship of the Bible. There certainly are in Hebrew, and this has been known for some time. What is more recent and controversial is the identification of certain numeric patterns in the KJV (and often other TR based texts) but not in CT based versions.

Second is the question of whether Alexandrian texts should be given greater weighting is textual criticism by virtue of being old (or maybe assumed to be old in the case of Codex Sinaiticus), or whether the preservation of these texts indicates they were shunned by the early church while their more cherished scripts were read, used and dropped to bits.

Third, the question of whether easier is better. Certainly growing up I had the Living Bible, the Good News, NIV, Amplified, The Message and NKJV. I still like this last one btw. Certainly, hard Elizabethan English can shut people out from meaning, but sometimes easier can also gloss over meaning that was intended. An example here is of a modern translation of the Bible to the people of Chile where translators (in trying to be culturally relevant) substituted a “sacrificial guinea pig” for a sacrificial lamb.

To articulate an alternate position, I love the writings of CS Lewis and he presented a lens through which to view scripture that I held for a long time:

“In the first place the kind of objection which they feel to a new translation is very like the objection which was once felt to any English translation at all. Dozens of sincerely pious people in the sixteenth century shuddered at the idea of turning the time-honoured Latin of the Vulgate into our common and (as they thought) ‘barbarous’ English. A sacred truth seemed to them to have lost its sanctity when it was stripped of the polysyllabic Latin, long heard at Mass and at Hours, and put into ‘language such as men do use’—language steeped in all the commonplace associations of the nursery, the inn, the stable, and the street. The answer then was the same as the answer now. The only kind of sanctity which Scripture can lose (or, at least, New Testament scripture) by being modernized is an accidental kind which it never had for its writers or its earliest readers. The New Testament in the original Greek is not a work of literary art: it is not written in a solemn, ecclesiastical language, it is written in the sort of Greek which was spoken over the Eastern Mediterranean after Greek had become an international language and therefore lost its real beauty and subtlety….

When we expect that [the Bible] should have come before the World in all the beauty that we now feel in the Authorised Version we are as wide of the mark as the Jews were in expecting that the Messiah would come as a great earthly King.”

As another metaphor I used to like, the imprecision and almost casual brush strokes of Monet can produce a liveliness and translucence that evokes the soul of a landscape:

Nobody would expect to get right up close and still find precision, but that is not the beauty of the work.

The question is, does our literary or visual imagination match the kind of text we find in the Bible, or do we find something other?

I watched this earlier and to me (and others) it suggests that God has a hand in the micro as well as the macro level beauty of His word:

Oh well you must have been talking to people in person. People are a lot more polite and reserved about their opinions in person.:giggle:

Try spreading the Gospel online and you will soon find out how much you need the art and science of Christian apologetics.
I have shared the gospel online, in person, in newspapers...you name it...and I never once required a "secret message" or Bible code while doing so.

"The sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God" (Ephesians 6:17) is perfectly capable of doing what it was designed by God to do without any sort of "secret message" or Bible code to back it up.

If spoken in truth, God's word will cut people to their hearts.

Some will repent, and others will get angry.

This is what the Bible teaches, and this is what I have personally witnessed and experienced multitudes of times while witnessing to Muslims, Jehovah's Witnesses, atheists, agnostics, etc., etc.

Act 2:37
Now when they heard this, they were pricked in their heart, and said unto Peter and to the rest of the apostles, Men and brethren, what shall we do?

Act 5:33
When they heard that, they were cut to the heart, and took counsel to slay them.

Act 7:54
When they heard these things, they were cut to the heart, and they gnashed on him with their teeth.

Neither Jesus, nor the prophets, nor the apostles, nor any disciple of Jesus Christ ever required a "secret message" or Bible code to convince their hearers, so just give it a rest lest you fulfill this "secret message":

2 Peter 2:16

"But was rebuked for his iniquity: the dumb ass speaking with man's voice forbad the madness of the prophet. "

Which Bible do you use, if I may ask?
