[I've not read through this entire thread... but have skimmed the last few pages, but have not seen the following...]

Romans 7:1-4 - [to/for/about "the Church WHICH IS HIS BODY"] -

"1 Or are you ignorant brothers (for I speak to those knowing the law), that the law rules over the man for as long as the time he is alive? 2 For the married woman is bound by law to the living husband; but if the husband should die, she is cleared from the law of the husband. 3 So then, if she is to another man, the husband being alive, she will be called an adulteress; but if the husband should die, she is free from the law, so as for her not to be an adulteress, having been to another man.
4 Likewise, my brothers, you also have been put to death to the Law through [/by means of] the body of Christ, for you to belong to Another, to the One having been raised out from the dead, so that we should bear fruit to God."

____________

[yet, the following is also true (for Israel and Israel's "FUTURE")...]

Matthew 5:18-19 -

18 For truly I say to you, until heaven and earth shall pass away, not even one iota, nor one stroke of a letter, shall pass away from the law, until everything should happen.

19 Whoever then shall break one of the least of these commandments and shall teach others the same, he will be called least in the kingdom of the heavens; but whoever shall keep and shall teach them, he will be called great in the kingdom of the heavens."

[note: the phrase "the kingdom OF THE heavenS" is earthly-located, and related to "the promised and prophesied EARTHLY Millennial Kingdom"... that they were still asking Jesus about (re: its TIMING), "post-resurrection," in Acts 1:6... and to which He responded to their Q in referring to its "TIMING" (which they did NOT grasp), not re: its "nature," which they understood correctly]

Of course it is a Command of Christ and so? How does this abrogate the responsibility to keep the Commandments? Or does this give you license to kill, commit adultery, steal, profane the Sabbath and curse God's name? If you want a life of unrest and misery, just go ahead and break God's Law.
You have a choice. You can work at your understanding of commandments. Or you can come to Christ, in faith.

Galatians 3:24-26
24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us unto Christ, that we might be justified by faith.
25 But after that faith is come, we are no longer under a schoolmaster.
26 For ye are all the children of God by faith in Christ Jesus.

So, we are not required to keep the Commandments?

Mat 19:16 Now behold, one came and said to Him, "Good Teacher, what good thing shall I do that I may have eternal life?"
Mat 19:17 So He said to him, "Why do you call Me good? No one is good but One, that is, God. But if you want to enter into life, keep the commandments."

Sorry Gramps, I gotta go with Christ on this one.

Consider the context; it is critical to understanding this.

What If you fail at keeping the commandments but you tried ,will you be accepted more than someone who didn’t even try to keep them?

Everyone who loves Jesus Yeshua tries and fails; this is why we adore Him for saving us from our failures.

If you recall, Paul lamented his own weaknesses and failures.......... soooo! God bless you always.

One of my favorite ways to see that those who are true believers in Christ have victory over the penalty of the law is in Rev. 12: "And there appeared a great wonder in heaven; a woman clothed with the sun, and the moon under her feet ". I see this as a picture of the true believers who are clothed with Christ. The sun is a picture of Christ and they are clothed with him. The moon is a picture of the law (Jer 31:35), but since the true believers have gotten victory over the penalty of the law, we see that they are over or above it, they have gotten victory over it, and it is under their feet.

Salvation is a state of being. When you receive the Holy Spirit of the Father and Son, you become a new person full of love for God and love for people. When you are led by the Holy Spirit and your motivation for every thought and action is this divine love, you will be obeying the Spirit of the Law on which the Letter of the Law is based. The new focus is love and doing the will of the Father because of this love. I am amazed at how many people still don't get it. God has made it easy for us ( those who have this state of being).

2 Corinthians 12:9-10~ He said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for My power is perfected in weakness.” Therefore I will boast all the more gladly in my weaknesses, so that the power of Christ may rest on me. :)

Paul said we do not void out the law through faith but we establish the law.

And the law is spiritual, holy, just, and good.

Which are the moral laws, laws of love.

We always have to go by the moral laws, laws of love, for they are spiritual laws, and love God and love people are the 2 greatest commandments.

The ten commandments are moral laws, laws of love.

In the Old Testament they could not have the Spirit to help them overcome the flesh because their sins were not completely washed away, so they were under the law and considered not perfect.

In the New Testament people can have the Spirit to help them overcome the flesh because their sins are completely washed away, so they are not under the law.

This means they are not sinning because they are led of the Spirit so the law cannot touch them for prosecution.

Because a Spirit led life will not fulfill the lusts of the flesh, for they have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts, and show the ways of the Spirit.

And God will not allow them to be tempted above what they are able, but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

So there is no excuse why a person cannot abstain from sin.

If a person does sin they need to not want that sin anymore and keep moving forward in the Spirit.

When a saint sins they are back under the law until they repent of it not wanting the sin again and then they are not under the law.

Every time a saint sins they forfeit repentance for they are not turning away from sins until they repent not wanting the sin anymore.

If a person wilfilly sins after receiving the knowledge of the truth there is no more sacrifice for sin.

Which means if a person has sin they do not repent of and not want that sin anymore the blood of Christ cannot wash away that sin, for God will not take away a sin a person hold on to.

Jesus took the physical ordinances of Israel out of the way, and nailed them to His cross for they were contrary to us, for they could not provide spiritual salvation, therefore let no person judge you in the physical ordinances by telling you to keep them.

When Christ said "It is finished" and died; and the curtain of the temple was torn; that's when the law was set aside.

Do you believe the law was set aside, or not? I need to know where to begin. Thanks.
The law of Moses? Yes definitely. But ultimately.....the law of SIN AND DEATH.
And you could also say that we do not have the law imposed UPON us (externally), rather we now serve the law from the HEART (internally as a new creation).

Rom 6:17
But God be thanked, that ye were the servants of sin, but ye have obeyed from the heart that form of doctrine which was delivered you.
Rom 6:18
Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Rom 8:2
For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death.

The Lord Jesus said the same thing as what Paul expounded in Galatians 3:24-26. But you have already made your choice.

Matthew 11:28-30
28 Come unto me, all ye that labour and are heavy laden, and I will give you rest.
29 Take my yoke upon you, and learn of me; for I am meek and lowly in heart: and ye shall find rest unto your souls.
30 For my yoke is easy, and my burden is light.
