Jesus told us to do two things: Love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves. You don’t have to be a Christian to do these two things, do you?

Jesus said that no one can come to the Father except through the Son. Paul said that if we confess that Jesus is Lord, and believe that God raised him from the dead, we would be saved. I don't see the option to believe anything else in there.

Um...yes. You do have to be a 'Christian' in order to love God with all your heart, mind, and soul. Do you disagree?
I disagree. If a person has never been taught about Jesus Christ, he can still love God. The purpose of Jesus was to direct us to God.

Did God want us all to be Christians?

To be 'christian' is to be 'christ like'. So...yes..God does want us all to be Christians. Are we not to be conformed to the image of Christ?

As long as we love him with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves, isn’t that good enough?
If that was good enough then Jesus wouldn't have had to die. God's death was in unnecessary.

We need to know that to be saved...according to the bible anyway :)

John 5:23

so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. "He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.”

Jesus was God in flesh. Jews and Muslims haven’t figured that out yet. Does that make them bad people? If they love the Lord with all their hearts, minds, and souls, and love their neighbors as themselves, what more would God ask of them?

Jesus was God in flesh. Not everyone knows that. The important thing to me is whether or not they love God with all their hearts, minds, and souls, and love their neighbors as themselves.

To be Christian means, to me, to believe in Jesus Christ.

1 John 4:15

If anyone acknowledges that Jesus is the Son of God, God lives in him and he in God.

Jesus needed to die to free us from Satan. Had Jesus not died, Satan could forever torment us for each sin that we’ve ever committed.

I think Jesus is God in flesh. Jews and Muslims are wrong to believe that Jesus is not God in flesh. However, that doesn’t mean they aren’t following God.
He who has the Son has eternal life.

He who does not have the Son does not have eternal life.

I think scripture is pretty clear on this.

Muslims and Jews do not have the Son....therefore, they do not have eternal life and and not worshiping the same God as Trinitarians.

It really is that simple...

I may be ignorant but could you show me in the scriptures where that is? Please, thank you.

No man teaches me. I give freely what was freely given to me. I know no such person.

The person you are resting in, did He not say all men will be drawn to Him?

And again, if God was ALONE how are people still seeing another?
PatientSpirit,
I am beginning to see you in a different light and am concerned. Let me ask, 'who is your god, where did you learn of him/her/it and does your god have a name?

People have been trying without God's help for a long time. It never works out. [That's what Paul's whole discussion in Romans is about: the Law exposing our need for a Savior.] The advantage of Christianity is that Jesus has 1. died so our sins don't get in the way of God helping us, 2. is interceding for us to get us that help.

1Jn 5:11 And this is the record, that God hath given to us eternal life, and this life is in his Son.
1Jn 5:12 He that hath the Son hath life; [and] he that hath not the Son of God hath not life.
1Jn 5:13 These things have I written unto you that believe on the name of the Son of God; that ye may know that ye have eternal life, and that ye may believe on the name of the Son of God.

God Bless you too.

The key word is "yet". People sincerely desiring to follow God are on their way.

Jesus is God in flesh, I believe. Certainly the Jews have God. I suspect the Muslims do to, those who have repented of their sin. I believe the key is this: We are to love the Lord our God with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves (Matt 22:34-40). I believe if we do these two things, we are okay, no matter what religion we subscribe to. And if we fail to obey these two commandments, are we going to save ourselves simply by calling ourselves Christians?

I think people who obey the two great commandments will be okay.

The Lord requires us to love God with all our hearts, minds, and souls, and love our neighbors as ourselves. Those who obey will be blessed.
