Substitution atonement through the work of God by faith alone without works was the answer to this question.

1 sin is enough to cause a person to become a servant to sin through unbelief and let sin reign in the mortal body. Adam's 1 sin caused the fall of man at the garden of Eden and alienation from God.

My flesh is dead to sin and alive to God by faith alone without works. I am free from sin and I am a free man because God is merciful on my flesh.

My flesh was alive in sin and dead to God when I was lost but after salvation my flesh became dead to sin and alive to God through substitution atonement by faith alone without works. That is how you don't let sin reign in your mortal body.

First of all, it's "sin", not "sign".. SIGN can't reign in our bodies.. :)

Alright that is a good answer but my question is how do I not let sin reign in my mortal body? When 1 sin is enough to let sign reign in the mortal body. When Adam made his first sin then sin reign in his mortal body.

How do you keep sin from reigning in your material being? First, you are not perfect yet, remember this always. Now, always keep in mind God will not ever abandon the work He has begun in you.

Do you believe Jesus Christ is Lord and Savior, your Savior?

If you do, and believe you must, the moment you accepted Jesus christ as your Savior and God, the work of God, Himself, began in you. He will not abandon the work He has begun in you, in me, and in all.

The biggest hurdle for most is not just realizing but believing we are forgiven with our very personal Mediator between us and God, Jesus Christ. And the second is our future of being perfect, yes perfect, not because of what we have ever done or will do, but because God knew you, and in knowing you He began His work in you.

Do not let man shake you in any manner. HIs promises are true. It is incredible that we all will be just like Jesus Christ; we will not be He, but just like He, and this is an enormous promise. Praise God, amen.

Paul says that it is in "knowing" that the old man has died - this is what leads us to not let sin reign or rule in our mortal bodies.

The understanding of spiritual circumcision - where the inner man in Christ is "cut away" from the body of flesh which has the power of sin still in it ( Rom. 7:23 ) is important to have a revelation of.

When sin which is in the flesh - the members of our body arises to our brain - we can ignore it as it is not from us but it's role is to "deceive" us into doing "it's" desires. Walking by the spirit stops the deeds of the body from doing "it's" desires.

Here is a good short ( 6 minutes ) video that speaks of "sin" as a parasite that is in our bodies. Thank God for the new bodies we get and it will not have this "parasite" in it.

How do I not let sign reign my mortal body? When 1 sin is enough to cause sin to reign in the mortal body.

Romans 6:12 Let not sin therefore reign in your mortal body, that ye should obey it in the lusts thereof.
(Romans 6:15-19): ...New American Standard Bible (NASB)

What then? Shall we sin because we are not under law but under grace? May it never be! Do you not know that when you present yourselves to someone as slaves for obedience, you are slaves of the one whom you obey, either of sin resulting in death, or of obedience resulting in righteousness? But thanks be to God that though you were slaves of sin, you became obedient from the heart to that form of teaching to which you were committed, and having been freed from sin, you became slaves of righteousness. I am speaking in human terms because of the weakness of your flesh. For just as you presented your members as slaves to impurity and to lawlessness, resulting in further lawlessness,

...so now present your members as slaves to righteousness, resulting in sanctification.

well, heh, by your definition, doesn't one single righteous act alone make you a slave of righteousness?

((tho the truth is, MarcR just told us the truth. he's a knowledgeable brother :)))
Yes, he is indeed.

If Sin rules in me, God's life in me will be killed; if God rules in me, Sin in me will be killed. This is Spiritual reality thru life led by the Holy Spirit in us. Therefore, we can measure our growth in grace by our sensitiveness to Sin and not in our callousness to it. Eternal life is not a gift from God; eternal life is the gift of God. The energy and the power which was so very evident in Jesus will be exhibited in us by an act of the absolute sovereign grace of God, once we have made that complete and effective decision about Sin and it's particulars. We have to keep letting go, and slowly, but surely, the great full life of God will invade us, penetrating every part.

God's life in the believer cannot be killed. The new creation in Christ will not die because Christ Himself is one spirit with us in our inner man. Christ is not going to die and neither is the new creation in Christ going to die.

The body however can and will be destroyed by sinning.

Romans 8:10 (NASB)
[SUP]10 [/SUP] If Christ is in you, though the body is dead because of sin, yet the spirit is alive because of righteousness.

Romans 8:12-13 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] So then, brethren, we are under obligation, not to the flesh, to live according to the flesh—

[SUP]13[/SUP] for if you are living according to the flesh, you must die; but if by the Spirit you are putting to death the deeds of the body, you will live.

Take up shooting heroin in your arms and you will see this destruction come quickly.

Hyper-grace false gospel-izers have to seek to change word definitions and context of holy Scripture to support their error. Thus the OP.

You will never win an argument with them; they are not interested in truth, they are interested only in propagation of their Antinomianism and twisted gospel.

There is a huge difference between a believer having sinned, and of sin reigning in ones body. But, that won't work, this properly defining things biblically, they will not listen to reason from the Word. The Word will not be allowed to correct them.

If Paul wanted that one verse to be all he said, that's all he would have said. Romans is a treatise. It is what Christ is all about. It didn't originally come with verses and chapters. So, read the whole thing as if there are no verses and chapters.

Because your answer was just a few sentences away. And, when you read that, more questions will arise. Paul even asks them for us. And then he answers.

Asking on here tells me you haven't read but that one verse.

Amen...Jesus broke the chains of sin and there is no other work needed for salvation, but faith in his sacrifice. Nothing we can do to save ourselves it takes faith in Jesus.

But doesn't faith also produce the works of God or the fruits of the Spirit? I mean if we are dead to sin and alive to God there surely is a difference in us, right. The old man sinned because he loved sin...The new man hates sin because he is created after God in righteousness. Although we may slip up at times, if we walk in the Spirit we are over comers of sin through faith in Jesus. It is not of our own works...It is God working through us and there is where the change comes in. Once the old man dies and we become a new man then we are not the same person and there is a change in us.

The fact is through our own self effort we are not able to not let sin reign in our mortal bodies. However, the Lord has given us a way that we can not let sin reign in our mortal bodies. When we are saved we die to the power of sin crucified with Christ through spiritual circumcision, we become dead to sin buried with Christ through spiritual baptism which cleanses us from all of our sin, then the Holy Spirit makes us alive to God through his quickening Holy Spirit where we become born again risen with Christ, and all of this is done by the gift of faith without works. Christ puts away all of our sins once and for all on the day of salvation. This is how we do not let sign reign in our mortal bodies. For he that is dead to sin is free from sin with no more sin debt, none of their sins are imputed anymore, God no longer remembers our sins, and God even inputs the righteousness of Christ to us. Where we become servants to righteousness and no longer servants to sin anymore. We become holy and righteousness to God through substitution atonement by faith alone with works through the work of God which is to believe in Jesus Christ.

Joh 6:28 Then said they unto him, What shall we do, that we might work the works of God?
Joh 6:29 Jesus answered and said unto them, This is the work of God, that ye believe on him whom he hath sent.

Ro 6:6 Knowing this, that our old man is crucified with him, that the body of sin might be destroyed, that henceforth we should not serve sin.
Ro 6:7 For he that is dead is freed from sin.

Ro 6:18 Being then made free from sin, ye became the servants of righteousness.

Ro 4:5 But to him that worketh not, but believeth on him that justifieth the ungodly, his faith is counted for righteousness.
Ro 4:6 Even as David also describeth the blessedness of the man, unto whom God imputeth righteousness without works,
Ro 4:7 Saying, Blessed are they whose iniquities are forgiven, and whose sins are covered.
Ro 4:8 Blessed is the man to whom the Lord will not impute sin.

2Co 5:17 Therefore if any man be in Christ, he is a new creature: old things are passed away; behold, all things are become new.
2Co 5:18 And all things are of God, who hath reconciled us to himself by Jesus Christ, and hath given to us the ministry of reconciliation;
2Co 5:19 To wit, that God was in Christ, reconciling the world unto himself, not imputing their trespasses unto them; and hath committed unto us the word of reconciliation.
2Co 5:20 Now then we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God did beseech you by us: we pray you in Christ's stead, be ye reconciled to God.
2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.

Ga 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Ga 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Ga 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.

Col 2:9 For in him dwelleth all the fulness of the Godhead bodily.
Col 2:10 And ye are complete in him, which is the head of all principality and power:
Col 2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:
Col 2:12 Buried with him in baptism, wherein also ye are risen with him through the faith of the operation of God, who hath raised him from the dead.
Col 2:13 ¶ And you, being dead in your sins and the uncircumcision of your flesh, hath he quickened together with him, having forgiven you all trespasses;
Col 2:14 Blotting out the handwriting of ordinances that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross;
Col 2:15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.

Heb 8:12 For I will be merciful to their unrighteousness, and their sins and their iniquities will I remember no more.

Heb 9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.
Nuts! You had me fooled for a minute. I thought you were sincerely asking a question. Nope. It was a set up.

Perhaps a stop sign would be helpful in preventing sin from to not rain in your mortal body.

Hate sin,and do not want sin,and allow the Spirit to lead you.

Gal 5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.
Gal 5:22 But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith,
Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

1Co 10:13 There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it.

I am going to have to disagree with you because 1 sin is enough to cause a person to become a servant to sin. How does a person become a servant to righteousness and not let sin reign in their mortal body? When we sin more than we can count every day?
I would say that since it appears obvious that you intend to disagree with anything anyone posts, I would say that you might as well accept the fact that you are doomed to let sin reign in you forever.
