OK. And self will is free to make choices. Which is the point.

The problem is when calvinists make up their own ideas about free will, even describing it as having power. Nonsense.
What power does a Calvinist ascribe to free will?

I may have missed that if it has been previously stated...

There are so many different topics and ideas and opinions about so many things on this forum. What if someone just wants to get Born Again? Is that complicated and controversial also? Is the on-ramp to salvation hard to find and navigate? What could we say to a lost person just coming in here seeking Jesus?

Let's make at least one thread that is devoid of bickering and arguing and is seeker friendly. Just state how simple it is to come to Jesus and why (don't use it as an opportunity to criticize the previous poster.)

My thought and verse(s) on being/getting Born Again:___________________________
1st: Understand that there is a Creator God.

2nd: Understand you've sinned against His Sovereign rule & deserve Heavens invoked sin penalty (DEATH) & are in need rescued.

3rd Understand God sent Son/Jesus to rescue humanity.

4th: Place your faith/trust in God's sent sin atonement; found in the sinless Christ's death (sins required wage, Paid), burial (proof Jesus died) & resurrection (Father's receipt, sins required wage received & accepted).

Confess with you mouth that Jesus is Lord & Savior & believe with all your being that God raised Him from the grave/death.

Rom 10:
9 That if thou shalt confess with thy mouth the Lord Jesus, and shalt believe in thine heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved.

10 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Amen (Also see 1Cor 15:1-4)

Are saved and born again both equivalent terms to you?

Free will is simple

We come to a fork in the road. We can chose to take the right or the left.

Lack of free will means we are forced to go one way. and are incapable of making any other decision.

They describe free will as having power over things. Free will is merely the freedom to choose between available options. There is no power in that.

They reject that man has free will, so they have to make up stuff about it to make it look like man has power over God, or some such thing.

It is God who makes available options to choose from, obviously. Not man. Man cannot create options. They are simply available to him to choose from. But just ask any calvinist. They really don't seem to understand this simple fact.

When free will is properly defined, calvinists have no argument or defense against it. So they have to make up a silly definition in which to attack. It's all they have.

Man has free will. Calvinists don't like it.

ps: I am definitely not an Arminian. But calvinists will claim that I am.

You have to be kidding, the poster used plenty of scripture to make the point.
Umm, not really sure about what you are talking about. In the post, I'd commented on him has nothing to do with one's salvation, not a bit Perhaps you do well presenting. however, you still have to get past your wrong defining terms or words. The irony is that when fact has been shown to you that you haven't had any counterpoint. Am sorry to say, I failed to see "the breadth, and length, and depth, and height" in explaining your points except circular reasoning. I would like to discuss scriptures rather than mere opinions of men.

Rather, what he posted was factually true.

When numerous posters keep pointing out your errors, it would behove you to pay attention.

Errors:

1. wrong definition of terms and words.
2. no counterpoints to points presented by others.
3. circular reasoning.

How would i know ? Your spam assertions are all over the place.
Prove it. But this is just another of your empty claims. Which are all over the place.

When are you going to prove that regeneration precedes faith? You haven't so far.

When are you going to prove that election is to salvation. You haven't so far.

Why do you believe claims that you cannot prove from Scripture?
