Then according to you, no one gets the destroyed and everyone lives forever.
no -- not 'lives' forever. exists.
life is not equivalent to existence and death is not equivalent to non-existence; that's all over the scripture.

destruction is not erasure from existence; it's rendering powerless.

Context Matters and I read them in context.
No, you really don't. For being called TheLearner, you're unteachable and condescending, spamming the forum with snide pictures about context matters.

Read these carefully.

Psalm 37:20
20But the wicked shall perish, and the enemies of the LORD shall be as the fat of lambs: they shall consume; into smoke shall they consume away.

3And ye shall tread down the wicked; for they shall be ashes under the soles of your feet in the day that I shall do this, saith the LORD of hosts.

Romans 6:23
23For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Philippians 3:18-19

2 Thessalonians 1:9
9Who shall be punished with everlasting destruction from the presence of the Lord, and from the glory of his power;

Hebrews 10:26-27

Hebrews 10:39
39But we are not of them who draw back unto perdition; but of them that believe to the saving of the soul.

Forever: (Gr. "aionios") -- "duration, either undefiend but NOT endless, or undefined because endless".

"...and never shalt thou (Satan) be anymore." - Ezekiel 28:19 KJV
In Matthew 25:46 if you limit eternal for punishment you also like eternal for life too. The Grammar does not give you a choice to limit one without limiting the other.

The rich man in Luke 16:19-31 is currently being held in a secure location
awaiting trial at the event depicted by Rev 20:11-15 where he'll be reunited
with his body along with everyone else on the wrong side of Hades-- he may
have a long wait for his trial.

According to the Census Bureau, something like 7,000 people of all ages,
races, and genders die every day in the USA.

At one time it was estimated that roughly 28% of those deaths are under
the age of 19 so that we can count 5,040 of those daily deaths as
responsible adults.

Jesus said that many are called and few chosen. If we reckon the many to
be somewhere around 51% then we can estimate that 2,570 of of those
5,040 join the rich man every day of the week-- 24/7/365 --adding up to
938,050 condemned souls in one year; and that's just from the USA; not
even reckoning with rest of the globe's population.

If we were to arbitrarily allot each trial ½ hour at Rev 20:11-15, it would
take approximately 469,025 hours to try all 938,050 of the USA souls; or
19,543 twenty-four hour days totaling 53½ years. I'm pretty sure the rich
man will be standing in line for quite a bit longer than that when we take
into consideration the entire population of Hades going all the way back to
the days of Cain and Abel.

I once commented to a Christian friend that it seems almost impossible that
God will ever get around to judging every man and woman who has ever
lived. My friend replied: Well; he has plenty of time.

The reason they were excluded from the KJV is becuase they were found to be uninspired. ICYMI, an excerpt from the Apocrypha says that giving alms can earn salvation, which strikes at the core of the Gospel, does it not? Anyone can see how uninspired that is.
Doing good works is the fruit of salvation. That is all your text describes.

Eze 18
1 The word of the Lord came to me: 2 What do you mean by repeating this proverb concerning the land of Israel, "The parents have eaten sour grapes, and the children's teeth are set on edge"? 3 As I live, says the Lord God, this proverb shall no more be used by you in Israel. 4 Know that all lives are mine; the life of the parent as well as the life of the child is mine: it is only the person who sins that shall die. 5 If a man is righteous and does what is lawful and right— 6 if he does not eat upon the mountains or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, does not defile his neighbor's wife or approach a woman during her menstrual period, 7 does not oppress anyone, but restores to the debtor his pledge, commits no robbery, gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with a garment, 8 does not take advance or accrued interest, withholds his hand from iniquity, executes true justice between contending parties, 9 follows my statutes, and is careful to observe my ordinances, acting faithfully—such a one is righteous; he shall surely live, says the Lord God. 10 If he has a son who is violent, a shedder of blood, 11 who does any of these things (though his father does none of them), who eats upon the mountains, defiles his neighbor's wife, 12 oppresses the poor and needy, commits robbery, does not restore the pledge, lifts up his eyes to the idols, commits abomination, 13 takes advance or accrued interest; shall he then live? He shall not. He has done all these abominable things; he shall surely die; his blood shall be upon himself. 14 But if this man has a son who sees all the sins that his father has done, considers, and does not do likewise, 15 who does not eat upon the mountains or lift up his eyes to the idols of the house of Israel, does not defile his neighbor's wife, 16 does not wrong anyone, exacts no pledge, commits no robbery, but gives his bread to the hungry and covers the naked with a garment, 17 withholds his hand from iniquity, takes no advance or accrued interest, observes my ordinances, and follows my statutes; he shall not die for his father's iniquity; he shall surely live. 18 As for his father, because he practiced extortion, robbed his brother, and did what is not good among his people, he dies for his iniquity. 19 Yet you say, "Why should not the son suffer for the iniquity of the father?" When the son has done what is lawful and right, and has been careful to observe all my statutes, he shall surely live. 20 The person who sins shall die. A child shall not suffer for the iniquity of a parent, nor a parent suffer for the iniquity of a child; the righteousness of the righteous shall be his own, and the wickedness of the wicked shall be his own. 21 But if the wicked turn away from all their sins that they have committed and keep all my statutes and do what is lawful and right, they shall surely live; they shall not die. 22 None of the transgressions that they have committed shall be remembered against them; for the righteousness that they have done they shall live. 23 Have I any pleasure in the death of the wicked, says the Lord God, and not rather that they should turn from their ways and live? 24 But when the righteous turn away from their righteousness and commit iniquity and do the same abominable things that the wicked do, shall they live? None of the righteous deeds that they have done shall be remembered; for the treachery of which they are guilty and the sin they have committed, they shall die. 25 Yet you say, "The way of the Lord is unfair." Hear now, O house of Israel: Is my way unfair? Is it not your ways that are unfair? 26 When the righteous turn away from their righteousness and commit iniquity, they shall die for it; for the iniquity that they have committed they shall die. 27 Again, when the wicked turn away from the wickedness they have committed and do what is lawful and right, they shall save their life. 28 Because they considered and turned away from all the transgressions that they had committed, they shall surely live; they shall not die. 29 Yet the house of Israel says, "The way of the Lord is unfair." O house of Israel, are my ways unfair? Is it not your ways that are unfair? 30 Therefore I will judge you, O house of Israel, all of you according to your ways, says the Lord God. Repent and turn from all your transgressions; otherwise iniquity will be your ruin. 31 Cast away from you all the transgressions that you have committed against me, and get yourselves a new heart and a new spirit! Why will you die, O house of Israel? 32 For I have no pleasure in the death of anyone, says the Lord God. Turn, then, and live.

Tobit 12

1 When the wedding celebration was ended, Tobit called his son Tobias and said to him, "My child, see to paying the wages of the man who went with you, and give him a bonus as well." 2 He replied, "Father, how much shall I pay him? It would do no harm to give him half of the possessions brought back with me. 3 For he has led me back to you safely, he cured my wife, he brought the money back with me, and he healed you. How much extra shall I give him as a bonus?" 4 Tobit said, "He deserves, my child, to receive half of all that he brought back." 5 So Tobias called him and said, "Take for your wages half of all that you brought back, and farewell." 6 Then Raphael called the two of them privately and said to them, "Bless God and acknowledge him in the presence of all the living for the good things he has done for you. Bless and sing praise to his name. With fitting honor declare to all people the deeds of God. Do not be slow to acknowledge him. 7 It is good to conceal the secret of a king, but to acknowledge and reveal the works of God, and with fitting honor to acknowledge him. Do good and evil will not overtake you. 8 Prayer with fasting is good, but better than both is almsgiving with righteousness. A little with righteousness is better than wealth with wrongdoing. It is better to give alms than to lay up gold. 9 For almsgiving saves from death and purges away every sin. Those who give alms will enjoy a full life, 10 but those who commit sin and do wrong are their own worst enemies. 11 "I will now declare the whole truth to you and will conceal nothing from you. Already I have declared it to you when I said, "It is good to conceal the secret of a king, but to reveal with due honor the works of God.' 12 So now when you and Sarah prayed, it was I who brought and read the record of your prayer before the glory of the Lord, and likewise whenever you would bury the dead. 13 And that time when you did not hesitate to get up and leave your dinner to go and bury the dead, 14 I was sent to you to test you. And at the same time God sent me to heal you and Sarah your daughter-in-law. 15 I am Raphael, one of the seven angels who stand ready and enter before the glory of the Lord." 16 The two of them were shaken; they fell face down, for they were afraid. 17 But he said to them, "Do not be afraid; peace be with you. Bless God forevermore. 18 As for me, when I was with you, I was not acting on my own will, but by the will of God. Bless him each and every day; sing his praises. 19 Although you were watching me, I really did not eat or drink anything—but what you saw was a vision. 20 So now get up from the ground, and acknowledge God. See, I am ascending to him who sent me. Write down all these things that have happened to you." And he ascended. 21 Then they stood up, and could see him no more. 22 They kept blessing God and singing his praises, and they acknowledged God for these marvelous deeds of his, when an angel of God had appeared to them.

If I were to make you case. I would use:

Ben Sira 3:30 NRSA
As water extinguishes a blazing fire, so almsgiving atones for sin.

Matthew 6:4
Your almsgiving must be done in secret. And your Father who sees everything that is done in secret will reward you.

Acts 10:31
He said, ‘Cornelius, your prayer has been heard and your almsgiving has not been forgotten by God.

So, in other words, you are saying we must accept it as a parable, and then interpret it as allegorical? Ok, weird approach and unique to only you on planet earth, but going with that strange approach you have told us what the allegorical meaning of several things are but you have yet to explain your idea of what the allegorical meaning of the torment could be?

Saying it is not to be taken literally, then giving allegorical meanings to the characters such as the rich man an lazarus, but not continuing with an allegorical explanation for the torments is neither the way a parable, or an allegory would work.

So now, you've insisted on calling it a parable, but start to interpret it as an allegory, and then quit in the middle and think people are supposed to see it the way you do? No one who is intellectually honest can violate that many rules of literature. It's just raw unadulterated ignorance about parables and allegories and I don't care how smart you think your leaders were they are making a fool out of you if you are following their lead in explaining this parable as and allegory and quitting before you assign a meaning to the torments. No one can agree with this nonsense.
Even when allegorical Luke 16 still teaches that the dead are alive and wrong side of grave is torture.

Not sure what you are saying. so rebuke them bluntly?
"This fallacy also relates to finding the meaning of a word by dissecting the meaning of each of its parts and then defining it as the sum of the parts. A classic example of this is in I Corinthians 4.1. Paul says, “So then, men ought to regard us as servants (hypēretas) of Christ and as those entrusted with the secret things of God.” Many years ago, a commentator by the name of R.C. Trench popularized the interpretation that hypēretas, which is made up of two words ‘under’ and ‘to row’, means ‘under rower.’ Many preachers have waxed eloquent about the ships at that time being propelled by slaves under the deck who row to the beat of the slave master’s drum. Thus, Paul, and consequently all Christians, are said to be ‘lowly servants’ sharing the gospel to the beat of God’s drum.

it says that people without Christ are dead - even while their bodies are animate.
you and i were both dead, as God defines death, before we came to Him.

we existed. we existed being dead.
clearly 'death' as God defines it is not annihilation. God doesn't define 'life' as existence, either.

existence/non-existence and life/death are wholly separate qualities.

stop at post 695 James 2:26 defines death physical
but James does not define it as non-existence. the body returns to dust, and dust isn't nothing - neither does the spirit cease to exist, but returns to God.
physical death is not the only way death is described in scripture - look at Matthew 8:22, how many definitions of death are there? and what is God's definition of 'dead' or 'living' in Matthew 22:32?

the topic is not as simplistic as some in this thread make it - it is certainly a mistake to think that because the body dies, the person ceases to be. life-beyond-physical-death is a fundamental precept of our faith.

You're calling me a "peddler" and "hellmonger" because I quote Jesus. Good luck on Judgment Day! I don't hate you. Stop lying!

Perhaps it was someone else.

Do you know what will happen to "all liars"?

Hell will be filled with people who don't believe in Hell

Believing Jesus is "venom"?

Matthew 25:41 (NKJV)
41 Then He will also say to those on the left hand, 'Depart from Me, you cursed, into the everlasting fire prepared for the devil and his angels:
Revelation 20:10 (NKJV)
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And
they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
Yes, your quoting the Spirit and meaning of the Scriptures. "Praise the lord, eternal torture for all!"
You don't speak in the manner of Jesus or the deacons as per the bible.
Luke 23:34Then said Jesus, Father, forgive them; for they know not what they do. And they parted his raiment, and cast lots.
Acts 7:59And they stoned Stephen, calling upon God, and saying, Lord Jesus, receive my spirit. 60And he kneeled down, and cried with a loud voice, Lord, lay not this sin to their charge. And when he had said this, he fell asleep.

Judgement day is something to look forward, may God's Will be done. I guess hate was a strong word, but you did accuse me violating Matt 5:22. It was a "lack of a better word" moment. Ignore it then.

Liars. All of them will be measured - Did he speak against God? Blasphemy of God. Did he speak against the Scriptures? Blasphemy of the Holy Spirit. Did he speak against Jesus? antichrist. Simple as counting.

Hell is full of people who don't beleve in hell. Kind of ironic. But whatever turns you on.

Wash forehead and hands, before the thresher comes. It's reaping time soon. I hope. Oh it has nothing to do with you. It will happen whether you like it or not.

You have ZERO proof. Abraham, Moses and Lazarus are LITERAL Biblical people.
"The rich man also died"
"being in torments"
"he cried"
"I am tormented in this flame"
"this place of torment"
Luke 16 verse by verse with paraphrase
19Now there was a rich man dressed in purple and fine linen, who lived each day in joyous splendor. 20And a beggar named Lazarus lay at his gate, covered with sores 21and longing to be fed with the crumbs that fell from the rich man’s table. Even the dogs came and licked his sores.
>>>> There is a rich man under the sun. "under the sun" means in the "absence of God" Ecc 1:2-3
There is a guy whose name is "God will save". Eleazar is the hebrew for Lazarus"
https://www.abarim-publications.com/Meaning/Eleazar.html
Crumbs meant for the dogs he must compete with the dogs. The dogs even lick his sores like a beast. Mercy of the world is demonstrated by the rich man Mark 7:27

22One day the beggar died and was carried by the angels to Abraham’s side.d And the rich man also died and was buried. 23In Hades, where he was in torment, he looked up and saw Abraham from afar, with Lazarus by his side.
>>>> Eleazar dies and is carried to Abraham's bosom. Abraham the archetype friend of God. Isaiah 41:8
His wife is Sarah who is our mother by analogy. We are the children of Promise made between Abraham and God. Gal 4:23-24
The rich man in life that lived without God, finds himself separated from God in the afterlife. He is tormented (Isaiah 59:1-2)

24So he cried out, ‘Father Abraham, have mercy on me and send Lazarus to dip the tip of his finger in water and cool my tongue. For I am in agony in this fire.’
>>>> Eleazar is surrounded waters of Salvation but the rich dude is parched in the Absence of God. Isaiah 12:2-3

25But Abraham answered, ‘Child, remember that during your lifetime you received your good things, while Lazarus received bad things. But now he is comforted here, while you are in agony.
>>>> Under the sun, the rich spent luxuriously, while in life Eleazar kept the faith as God will heal him. The rich man was not worthy of the Promise. So separation of the Spirit means dusrt in death while Eleazar was Saved. In life he was with the Spirit so in death the Spirit was with him. Eccle 12:7

26And besides all this, a great chasm has been fixed between us and you, so that even those who wish cannot cross from here to you, nor can anyone cross from there to us.’
>>>> Death and the grave separates us. The Living (Saved) do not talk with the dead. Leviticus 20:27

27‘Then I beg you, father,’ he said, ‘send Lazarus to my father’s house, 28for I have five brothers. Let him warn them, so that they will not also end up in this place of torment.’
>>>> "Let me have a second chance, resurrect Eleazar to get the message to his brethren". No backsies. Hebrews 9:27

29But Abraham replied, ‘They have Moses and the prophets; let your brothers listen to them.’
>>>> They have the Law. Let them understand what is good. Matt 5:17

30‘No, father Abraham,’ he said, ‘but if someone is sent to them from the dead, they will repent.’
>>>> Again with superstition Deut 18:10-12

31Then Abraham said to him, ‘If they do not listen to Moses and the prophets, they will not be persuaded even if someone rises from the dead.’ ”
>>>> The Wisdom of God is Perfect. If it doesn't convince you nothing will. Jesus fulfilled the law and the prohecies Not even the Risen Jesus will chnge their mind Luke 24:44

Why do they say torture as if the wicked do not deserve to suffer the eternal hellfire? Acknowledgement that God's judgements are correct is a powerful thing able to save a people from the eternal fire.

The fire that will torment the unsaved is the appearing of God. It's the judgement seat of Christ,

If someone's work is burned up, he will suffer loss. He himself will be saved, but only as through fire. 1Cor.3:15

Knowing therefore the terror of the Lord, we persuade men; 2Cor.5:-11

For our God is a consuming fire. Heb.12:29

he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb: Rev.14:10

the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming: 2Thes.2:8

Being tormented "forever and ever" means the ungodly will be tormented by having all the sins they committed in this life (in other words, forever and ever) exposed. After this, they are annihilated.
All things "eternal" come only from God and God alone. His punishment is everlasting as in final (static forever) not eternal(dynamic forever - resurrection and torture) .
Rev 20:14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Those judged unworthy will pass and be forgotten. As if no memory of them ever having existed.
Isaiah 65:17 “For behold, I create new heavens and a new earth, and the former things shall not be remembered or come into mind.
Ecclesiastes 9:5 For the living know that they will die, but the dead know nothing, and they have no more reward, for the memory of them is forgotten.

We will all face the Judge, best keep your hands and forehead clean. Forget babylon (Zechariah 3) and don't weep for the pagan tammuz (Ezekial 8)

I had a good reason for asking if you're Catholic, as Catholics interpret the Bible the exact way you do, because they believe in eternal torment. Just seemed like a logical conclusion to me.

Well now that we've cleared the air, I'm also a Bible believer. Any other questions?
Catholics are the only ones who believe in the eternal Hell fire? lol

Sure no problem. Simply, "forever" isn't literally forever in Revelation 20:10. As I said in an earlier post, forever isn't always forever where forever can be proven to not be forever. Probably the most well-known example is that Sodom and Gomorrah will burn forever when in the present day it isn't burning.

Now to answer your question, the devil can't be tormented forever if he's put to death. As I will show you below, the devil is cast into the lake of fire to receive the "second death." Death means the cessation of all bodily functions, thoughts, feelings, etc. The devil will be destroyed this way.

Revelation 20:10 KJV
10And the devil that deceived them was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone, where the beast and the false prophet are, and shall be tormented day and night for ever and ever.

Revelation 20:14-15 KJV
14And death and hell were cast into the lake of fire. This is the second death. 15And whosoever was not found written in the book of life was cast into the lake of fire.

Now it's my turn. Why do you insist, like the Catholics do, that the devil will have eternal life in the lake of fire and never die? The Bible says that the devil is put to death. How does someone get tormented forever, also put to death (But not really dying so they were never put to death) when sometimes forever doesn't mean forever?
Is anything in the Bible "literal" to you? How about eternal life?

Revelation 20:10 (NKJV)
10 The devil, who deceived them, was cast into the lake of fire and brimstone where the beast and the false prophet are. And they will be tormented day and night forever and ever.
