Can I believe in anything, yet not have faith in that same thing?

Faith is believing enough to do something (wether it is right or wrong, good faith or bad faith))

rephrased:

Can I believe in anything, yet not have belief enough to do in that same thing?

of course

you have to really believe to actually do it

So the correct answer is:
Of course!

99 percent believe the bible, but not enough to keep the Sabbath!

of course..

Romans 3:20 Therefore by the deeds of the law there shall no flesh be justified in his sight for by the law is the knowledge of sin.
Romans 3:24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus.

Being justified HOW - freely by his grace through redemption

Romans 3:28 Therefore we conclude that a man is justified by faith without the deeds of the law.
Romans 4:2 For if Abraham was justified by works, he has whereof to glory; but not before God.
Romans 5:1 Therefore being justified by faith we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ.
Romans 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
1 Co. 6:11 And such were some of you but you are washed, but you are sanctified, but you are justified in the name of the Lord Jesus and by the Spirit of our God.
Galatians 2:16 Knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law, but by the faith of Jesus Christ, even we have believed in Jesus Christ, that we might be justified by the faith of Christ and not by the works of the law: for by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
Galatians 3:24 Wherefore the law was our schoolmaster to bring us to Christ that we might be justified by faith.
Galatians 5:4 Christ is become of no effect unto you, whosoever of you are justified by the law; you are fallen from grace.

I would say that justification is by the faith of Jesus Christ and this justification comes freely by and through the faith of Jesus Christ.

we need to be saved from hell. that is what we need to be saved from.

that is what salvation is. until your saved, you are dead. and you can live a sin free lifestyle all you want, and you will still go to hell.

Can doing no works get one to hell?

Justified by his GRACE through FAITH

i assume True faith

let me repharase that

Justified by his GRACE through FAITH

Justified by his divine power though Believeing enough to follow the word of God

thats correct...

The holy spirit if you have him will ALWAYS give you enough belief to ahve you DO THE BIBLE
always

or it is another spirit.

if you arent DOING the bible
you are not born again

Nicodemous was a Leader in Isreal and praised God and build churches
but Jesus said
Nicodemus
you do not have the spirit

Can doing no works get one to hell?
absolutely

for Christ works

with christ you will do works of faith

Joh_10:38 But if I do, though ye believe not me, believe the works: that ye may know, and believe, that the Father is in me, and I in him.
Joh_14:10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I speak unto you I speak not of myself: but the Father that dwelleth in me, he doeth the works.
Joh_14:11 Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' sake.
Joh_14:12 Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall he do; because I go unto my Father.

without works you are not inspired

If you are not inspired, you are lost condition
repent and get inspired

the reason you cant see this is the false gospel of \
OSAS that eaches you you are already saved wven without works
that why it is false gospel

Jesus ALWAYS WORKS to do the will (commandments) of God

Look, let me state my perspective on this since this comes up so many times.

We are saved through Grace. Keep that in mind.

We are saved through Grace, by our Faith.

Faith has many components to itself. Works are a part of your Faith.

Now many will argue at this point that you do good works once you are saved, this can be logically disproven by people who do good deeds who are not Christian.

Basically, you are saved by Faith, but Faith has many components to itself.

Moreover, I would like to add that there isn't a specified amount of works. You just do good deeds in general. There are many Bible verses on this.

So we are saved by Grace through Faith. Just Faith has many components to itself.

i have a suggestion

Read your bible

read the whole books of the bible and pray
god will enlighten you

to be SAVED FROM SIN means you HAVE TO BE INSIRED TO NOT DO ANY SINS
you cant do it

but if you are reallly inspired you WILL do the commandments

The holy spirit in you says

he's right(holy spirit)
he's right(holy spirit)
you know he's right(holy spirit)
I will look like a fool in church changing to Sabbath (devil)
He's right. He';s right (holy spirit)
this is the way walk ye in it (holy spirit)
How can one fool be right and all my thological training be wrong?!? (enemy)
This is the way, walk ye in it ((holy spirit))
What will your wife say? (enemy)
Jesus wants to save her too(holy spirit)
Youve been wrong all these years? Youll look like an idiot! (enemy)
he's right/ He's right (Holy spirit)

so what breaks this silence?
MORE BIBLE READING!

yes!
your children, if you accept the truth will NOT BE LOST!

They will come too

the darkness is coming
the day of the Lord!
get right
give your life to him

Isa_49:25 But thus saith the LORD, Even the captives of the mighty shall be taken away, and the prey of the terrible shall be delivered: for I will contend with him that contendeth with thee, and I will save thy children.

walk off the cliff!

I had to do it

EVERYONE has to walk off the cliff
away from the control
and fully in Gods hand
and it is so sweet
his hand keeps you
you will not fall
and you will be born again

he not only wants you to be save from sin but all your children and grandchildren

the day of the Lord comes
those not 100% in the word will die

many will be raised to eternal life who will die

they did not have all it took like enoch and elijah but they loved God

but there WILL be 144,000 who went all the way
his bride
and it may be you and yours...

come ye to the waters
you will not die o house of israel

One can believe in the doctrine of "faith only" and have faith in that doctrine.

One can believe in the doctrine of "faith only" but his belief and faith in that doctrine does not make that doctrine part of the faith the bible teaches.

I have answered your question twice. How does your question prove that justification is by faith only?
you have not answered my question once.

I am not asking about a doctrine, I am asking a generic question.

can I believe (in anything) and not have faith in that thing?

you keep beating around the bush and claiming to answer when your trying to twist my question.

if you can not answer. just say so, if you can, will you PLEASE ANSWER MY QUESTION??

Can doing no works get one to hell?
can doing any work keep one from hell?

the penalty of sin is death, not works. the only thing which can cause forgiveness of sin is death.

so in answer to your question. yes, doing no works can get you to hell. but you have to finish the question. one can do many works and still go to hell. jesus acknowledged this himself.

I guess since you will not read the bible for yourself, I will tell you the bible says one must believe, Jn 8:24; repent, Lk 13:3,5 confess, Mt 10:32,33; and be baptized, Mk 16:16 to be come a Christian....that is how much one must do to become a Christian.

Eph 2:10; Rev 2:10,26 shows how much one must do to remain a faithful Christian.

------------------

Lk 6:46 And why call ye me, Lord, Lord, and do not the things which I say?

And you are asking the Lord "how much" of the things the Lord has said to do must I do?????????
no, I don't ask Him that, He has already made it clear that HE is the Saviour of my soul.

thank God he did ALWAYS work to do Gods will. or we would be doomned.

for only JESUS work can save us, You could never do enough work to make up for ONE SIN, let alone the many thousands of sin you have commited in your lifetime.

And I used "faith only" for (anything) as an example. So one can believe in "anything" and have faith in that "anything".

The point I am making just because one believes in and has faith in "something", that does not make that "something" biblical.

wow.. So you can not answer. That is NOT WHAT I ASKED!

let me try this. Can one believe a plane will get them from point A to point B, but not have faith in that plane actually doing it?

Yes, you have already asked many times "how much" must one do.

So my question to you is; of the things the Lord said to do, how much [or how little] of those things must one do in order to call Jesus "Lord"? Or can one do NONE of those things and still call Jesus "Lord"?

Get to the point of your question please.

why? are you afraid to answer? I am trying to get what you believe in what belief and faith is.. then I will give my answer.

it is not a trick question. I am trying to make a point. The point James is trying to make.

I can believe that a plane is able to get from point A to point B but I am afraid to fly because the plane may have problems getting me there - so no faith in the plane actually doing it.

Is that the answer you are looking for, EG!

Then go ahead and make the point.
I have never seen anyone so afraid. why is that?

question. Can I believe in something, and NOT HAVE faith in that very thing.

Answer. YES.

I can believe a plane will get me to point B, But not have trust that plane will do so. In which case, I will NOT DO THE WORK TO GET ON THE PLANE.

I can BELIEVE God will raise my child from the dead to keep his promise, (as in the case of Abraham) yet NOT TRUST HIM (have faith) TO DO IT. In which case, I am not going to do the work of sacrificing my sin, why? I do not trust God to keep his promise that he is my heir.

I can believe God is one God, and not the God of the pagans (even the demons believe and tremble) yet not have Faith in what God says. As a result. I may believe him, I may even believe what he says (I am a sinner and need to be saved) but if I do not trust him. I am not going to do the work to change my life, to do what he says, to do anything for him, BECAUSE I DO NOT TRUST HIM.

In ALL these examples. we have a person who BELIEVED in something, But he DID NOT HAVE FAITH (ASSURANCE OR TRUST) In the thing they claimed to believe in. Why? THEIR FAITH WAS DEAD, NON EXISTANT, LIFELESS, HAD NO POWER. HAD NOTHING.

This is what James is trying to share with the people of Israel he wrote to. Are you hearers of the word only (do you just believe in it) or are you doers of the word (proving you actually have faith in what the word says)
