You are the one who is deceived. You have deceived yourself into thinking anyone who thinks differently than you on this topic must do things for the same reasons you do them. Everything's about only doing things to keep you from losing your salvation with you.
with me? wow. So you think GOD does not care about this??
You can't think beyond that, so no matter what's shown to you, it always comes down to that for you.
Oh so maybe I read you wrong, and you too believe yu can learn your salvation (must earn it) Why are you trying to go back to law. Why do you think you can earn the gift God has offered you? why is your trust in self not God?

what has been shown to me is nothing. Yes I fight this false gospel of works. I have seen people lives destroyed over it. And paul fought it till his dieing breath. So if you get upset at the way some people do things when it comes to the gospel. I suggest you look at paul. Jesus started the movement, But paul was very influential in it. and showed the way!
We ALL should be fighting this gospel that leads people to hell (oh wait, i forgot, You do not think there is an afterlife)

I haven't been convinced by what he's said; I agree with it, but I've been convinced by looking through all the scriptures posted by Kohen and everyone else as well as their reasoning. It's the compilation of these things based on the logic God gave me that has convinced me. You are deceived, and are continually deceived by your own deceptive thinking.
1. I am not judging Kohen, Kohen believes as I do. As for Mike and John, I know. I have discussed it with them. And I have them numerous questions concerning their belief, and how mine could be wrong, which they have failed to answer. But I guess thats alright to you. we do not have to show someone else wrong by going over their points, we are alowd to say., Your wrong) and thats it. well sorry my friend, it does not work that way!

But for some reason you seem to have it out for me, As proven by you numerous posts slamming me, and numerous times you have stated I said or believes things I never have shown to believe. All because I do not believe in you view of the afterlife.

2. I am decieved? Ok. You do not even know what I believe. So lets just leave it there.

I hope you're not saying people that worship this way think they're justified by keeping the law, Brighthouse. Good gracious, how many times has the been addressed? Common! *Sob*
I wish I had a penny for every time this point has been made Shiloah, my friend. NO ONE HAS SAID KEEPING THE LAW JUSTIFIES ONE, we are justified by...

Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.

But then id these folks actually read what we posted, they would have nothing to rant about.

I have a question. Does anyone here NOT believe we should have a day of rest? Why would God give us this day (long before the law) and say he gave it for our benefit if it would not help us?

I think in this day and age, where people are running almost 16 hour days, we need this day more than ever. So why someone would not want to take it I can't understand.

Now a different question. Culture today has made it so complete fulfilment of the sabbath law is almost impossible. What should one do when you are told you must work on Saturday or lose your job? What Or things are needed, and you must go out. Or it is the only day (like some) you can get any work done around the house.

This seems to be the issues with sabbath keeping. So what say everyone?

Did I miss your conversion?

I understand how many of you feel!! I am not speaking this to upset any of you! But I believe it is time for us all to hear some truth about what many have looked to do with our Jesus and mix the law with his grace. They cannot mix brothers and sisters, though many look to. I have great love and respect for all of you here! You have a right to disagree of course!! But when you have been made free by Jesus, why look to become in bondage again over something we have no control of? The law was perfect, but it had no salvation,it set no one free within it. Hence why our Jesus had to fulfill it, so he could make a far better one,for us to stay free in! Thanks all.
Hmmm, and yet we read such scriptures as ...

Mat 5:17 Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to fulfil.
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled.

Now I ride a bicycle. I went for a 31 miler last night after work and it was threatening rain. The sky got dark and I thought it was going to pour it down before I got home. Hmmm, the heavens were still there. My tires were firmly on the road and I was able to come home safely. The earth was still there. OK, I was absolutely convinced that the Law was still in full force. In fact, I depend on the constant of Law to ride that two wheeled contraption and it never fails. Why would I believe that the Law is done away? Better yet, why would you believe it?

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Mat 19:16 And, behold, one came and said unto him, Good Master, what good thing shall I do, that I may have eternal life?
Mat 19:17 And he said unto him, Why callest thou me good? there is none good but one, that is, God: but if thou wilt enter into life, keep the commandments.

Hmmm, eternal life seems to be tied to the Commandments or so says the one you claim to worship. In fact He said...

Joh 14:15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.

Joh 14:21 He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.

Don't claim that you love God and then disobey everything He has Commanded. Paul seemed to think it was important to...

1Co 7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

Now how'd that get in there?

1Jn 5:2 By this we know that we love the children of God, when we love God, and keep his commandments.
1Jn 5:3 For this is the love of God, that we keep his commandments: and his commandments are not grievous.

What is the love of God? Keeping His Commandments. In fact, how important to your salvation is keeping the Commandments?

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Before you rattle on about the Law done away, perhaps you should read this and meditate on it a little...

Mat 5:19 Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven.

Well I sure missed it, because I firmly believe this...

Heb 10:26 For if we sin wilfully after that we have received the knowledge of the truth, there remaineth no more sacrifice for sins,
Heb 10:27 But a certain fearful looking for of judgment and fiery indignation, which shall devour the adversaries.
Heb 10:28 He that despised Moses' law died without mercy under two or three witnesses:
Heb 10:29 Of how much sorer punishment, suppose ye, shall he be thought worthy, who hath trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace?

But then your ability to misread and mistate everything that others say is legendary.

Ok!! Can take a hint here!! LOL Let me state most clearly how I relate to the law itself.I do not. Jesus said john 13:34 this covers the whole law! If I love you I will not steal from you, etc... The other requirment is that we believe in what HE did,and if we believe, then Jesus comes always first before any law! The are 23 books in the new covenant not counting the 4 gospels, because all four of them until the end of each dealt with Jesus speaking about the old law and the better covenant which is to come, and now has come. Ah John 832 you forgot to follow that one verse you read brother!!1 John 3:4-10!!!! You might wish to speak from the scriptures in full content. Anyone can twist one verse! I do not need luck brother!! I have Jesus!! hehe Since I am in Christ there is no sin,Did you not see that bro?? In Christ Jesus there is love only, no need for laws! fear not you can trash me from this moment on,i will not reply.

The old law is just that OLD! Do you not get rid of an OLD car?LOL I do.I am reminded of the prophecy of Isaiah here. Matt 13:14-17 I myself will not look back, or go back to something I am not part of.As said through Paul in Philp 3:8-14 Those who hold to Jesus and Jesus alone have obtained what even Paul seemed could not.I would not be so bold is saying who I am in Christ Jesus to you,he knows, and I know through him. For those who truly know me,know the truth I speak. I press forward in Christ, I do not look to what is past.

For what is past has been fulfilled by Jesus, and the way he has prepared for his people is to follow him. Love fulfills the law.FULFILLS THE LAW!!! One single commandment from Jesus covers all the over 650 that many look to follow.( matt 7:21 is quoted much but not understood.

The will of God is to be and stay thankful for what JESUS DID!!!( 1 Thess 5:18) if people are still looking to follow something before Jesus, then how are they ever thankful to him? Yet the questions I have asked no one has an answer for?Strange? No not strange brothers and sisters sad!! I wipe my feet and push towards the goal.i have done all I can in this study. So when Jesus reminds you of what was spoken by his servant,do not hang you head and say I didn't know, because you did.Blessing all

I am objecting to you not caring about the law any longer, God never tells us that because He saves us from the law we are not to care about it.

One attribute of the law does not explain the law.
Hi RedTent :) Recognizing that we cannot live up to the laws perfect demand (not to sin) in no way translates into meaning that we don't care about the law. On the contrary, if it weren't for the law, we would not know sin ... and our desperate need for salvation from it's penalty for breaking it ...i.e... death. So yes, the law is good in that it makes us aware of our dreadful condition. But breaking even one attribute of the law means we have fallen short of God's mark. The law is good ... but Jesus is better, best, and our only hope. If as you say ... the law kills those who do not have Christ, let's not focus on that which destroys ... but rather on Him who redeems us. We are powerless in this flesh to do anything good in God's eye's without Christ anyways. I'm certain we all care about the law and trying our best to please God. But God tells us that our only way of doing that is through Him in Jesus Christ. Jesus first. Everything else is secondary ... and powerless to save us. Love your paintings BTW :)

Your problem seems to be that God says there is a particular day you should have a day of rest. Not the day of YOUR choosing, but the seventh day. But then that has always been the test Command...

Exo 16:4 Then said the LORD unto Moses, Behold, I will rain bread from heaven for you; and the people shall go out and gather a certain rate every day, that I may prove them, whether they will walk in my law, or no. Exo 16:5 And it shall come to pass, that on the sixth day they shall prepare that which they bring in; and it shall be twice as much as they gather daily.

Perhaps you can explain why the one who said He was I AM, gave the Sabbath as a command, put people to death for breaking it, caused Israel to go into captivity and removed them from their land for Sabbath breaking and idolatry, will enforce it during the Millenium...

Isa 66:22 For as the new heavens and the new earth, which I will make, shall remain before me, saith the LORD, so shall your seed and your name remain.
Isa 66:23 And it shall come to pass, that from one new moon to another, and from one sabbath to another, shall all flesh come to worship before me, saith the LORD.

Not Jewish flesh, but ALL flesh will keep the Sabbath. Now why did He change His mind and say, Oh it really doesn't matter now? It mattered for 4000 years, it will matter for 1000 years, but it really doesn't matter now. You really think that God is that serendipitous?

Well, maybe it means since we cannot keep it perfectly, we should not even try.

Why do you keep misrepresenting what we believe regarding GOD's laws? How many times do you have to be told that we do not believe GOD's laws have been abolished?

We live under a higher law than your precious 10 commandments that is able to give life instead of death.

You keep bringing up this silly, false caricature of what we believe in order to give your beliefs the appearance of legitimacy and to attack what we believe.

lol.. Here you go again.

You ignore john, that says one who is born God cant sin.. why do you pick and chose passages which only support your view?

It is obvious, that those who the author of hebrews is talking to recieved the knowledge of truth, but never truely trusted it. Thus never saved, otherwise they could not fall into sin.

but you do not want to see this. You want to return to law and earn your salvation.

Thanks for proving I was right when I said you were trying to earn your salvation.

You hold a mental belief that you have been justified by his blood, but demonstrate your heart unbelief that you are always fully justified through faith by your trying to keep the 10 commandments.

The whole point of the law is to show you the difference between Jesus and yourself, and teach you the futility of trying to be like him. You're just kidding yourself if you think you are keeping the 10 commandments, or if you think trying to keep the 10 commandments makes you like Jesus.

Try intentionally breaking the Law and see what wonderful blessings you reap...

Gal 6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

Rev 22:14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

Rom 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

1Jn 3:4 Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law.

Good luck, you are really going to need it.

OK, I was absolutely convinced that the Law was still in full force. In fact, I depend on the constant of Law to ride that two wheeled contraption and it never fails. Why would I believe that the Law is done away? Better yet, why would you believe it?

Luke 24
25And he said to them, “O foolish ones, and slow of heart to believe all that the prophets have spoken! 26Was it not necessary that the Christ should suffer these things and enter into his glory?” 27And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he interpreted to them in all the Scriptures the things concerning himself.

28So they drew near to the village to which they were going. He acted as if he were going farther, 29but they urged him strongly, saying, “Stay with us, for it is toward evening and the day is now far spent.” So he went in to stay with them. 30When he was at table with them, he took the bread and blessed and broke it and gave it to them. 31And their eyes were opened, and they recognized him. And he vanished from their sight. 32They said to each other, “Did not our hearts burn within us while he talked to us on the road, while he opened to us the Scriptures?” 33And they rose that same hour and returned to Jerusalem. And they found the eleven and those who were with them gathered together, 34saying, “The Lord has risen indeed, and has appeared to Simon!” 35Then they told what had happened on the road, and how he was known to them in the breaking of the bread.

Jesus Appears to His Disciples
36As they were talking about these things, Jesus himself stood among them, and said to them, “Peace to you!” 37But they were startled and frightened and thought they saw a spirit. 38And he said to them, “Why are you troubled, and why do doubts arise in your hearts? 39See my hands and my feet, that it is I myself. Touch me, and see. For a spirit does not have flesh and bones as you see that I have.” 40And when he had said this, he showed them his hands and his feet. 41And while they still disbelieved for joy and were marveling, he said to them, “Have you anything here to eat?” 42They gave him a piece of broiled fish,b 43and he took it and ate before them.

44Then he said to them, “These are my words that I spoke to you while I was still with you, that everything written about me in the Law of Moses and the Prophets and the Psalms must be fulfilled.” 45Then he opened their minds to understand the Scriptures, 46and said to them, “Thus it is written, that the Christ should suffer and on the third day rise from the dead, 47and that repentance and forgiveness of sins should be proclaimed in his name to all nations, beginning from Jerusalem. 48You are witnesses of these things. 49And behold, I am sending the promise of my Father upon you. But stay in the city until you are clothed with power from on high.”

What Pharisee told you one cannot prepare meals on the Sabbath?

Exo 12:16 And in the first day there shall be an holy convocation, and in the seventh day there shall be an holy convocation to you; no manner of work shall be done in them, save that which every man must eat, that only may be done of you.

do you watch tv or do any other "labor?"

But then your ability to misread and mistate everything that others say is legendary.
i'm glad you believe that, since this is the appropriate thread:

Re: Is the Hebrew Roots Movement a cult?

but do you know what the writer of Hebrews was warning them about?
falling away from grace and returning to Law (Temple/Old Covenant).

- we've seen there's a broad range of beliefs and practices in the Hebrew Roots Movement.

- it is obvious for anyone spending any time at all investigating that adherents are primarily gentiles; they believe they're part of a special remnant that God is calling 'in the last days' in order to revive/restore hebraic thinking (which is superior); they adopt/search for 'sacred names'; and do in fact believe and teach that holiness and even salvation comes through observance of the law (Torah) - most commonly evidenced by a semblance of "keeping Sinai sabbath".

- we have an abundance of evidence that many (not a few) eventually deny the Deity of Christ

- we have evidence that many are completely abandoning anything connected to Christianity altogether and converting to Judaism

- we have examples of people denouncing and denying Jesus Christ - having trodden under foot the Son of God, and hath counted the blood of the covenant, wherewith he was sanctified, an unholy thing, and hath done despite unto the Spirit of grace....crucifying Him all over again putting Him to public disgrace.
