John 6:44- No man can come unto me, except the Father which hath sent me draw (or will draw) him; and I will raise him up at the last day, All that the Father draws, or will draw, are going to be raised up at the last day. If he draws all mankind then all mankind will be raised up at the last day. John 6:37 - All that the Father giveth me shall come to me. None that he gives refuses to go.
The drawing of all men is of the cross but only those who believe will be raised up by Christ at the last day.

John 12:32 King James Version (KJV)
32 And I, if I be lifted up from the earth, will draw all men unto me.

He is the Savior "unto all and upon all them that believe" the world of believers (Rom 3:22). All have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, but only believers are justified freely by his grace. The same application applies in John 3:16. Rom 3:26- To declare, I say, at this time his righteousness; that he might be just, and the justifier of him which BELIEVETH in Jesus. Jesus did not die for all mankind, as the bible clearly says, only for those who believe. John 6:44- All that he draws (or will draw) shall come to him and he will raise them all up at the last day. He does not draw all mankind.
does it bother you so much that people choose Christ that you continue to deny it?

you are not the one who decides

God does not respect one person over another

God is the Savior of all who believe and as scripture states, He does want ALL to come to Him

that is His plan, from the beginning, and no amount of saying otherwise is going to change that

drawing is the work of the Holy Spirit

now ask yourself why the Holy Spirit would have to DRAW someone to Jesus if God had already decided His irresistable grace would suffice

you cannot reconcile TULIP with the truth of the gospel

and God is not giving out trophies for it either

Now this I truly don't understand.

Only Calvinists are saved? I don't believe that. I don't think many really do.

We are not saved because we understand Gods Ways perfectly.

And you are right. God doesn't care what Calvin thinks. I don't think any of us really cares that much what Calvin thinks. I just think he had a correct way of viewing Salvation and how and why it occurs.

yet you defend Calvinism and say his way of viewing scripture is correct

well, Calvin is dead and the gospel is the same today as it was when it was written

you have made it plain you do not understand

But how are ppl drawn to the Christ by the Spirit? By mystical means or solely by the word of God?

Of course, upon the inspiration of the Almighty, we understand things about salvation. Hearing the word and believing on Christ and his gospel upon the very conviction of the Holy Spirit is to be born again.

Everyone who has heard the Father and learned from Him comes to Me
(John 6:45)
how does one get ears to hear the Father?
how does one get an heart to learn from Him?

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and whoever comes to Me I will never cast out
(John 6:37)
how is it that some people are not saved, if
  • everyone who the Father gives to Him come to Him
  • everyone who hears the Father and learns from Him comes to Him
  • no one who comes to Him is ever cast out?
does not everyone hear the Father?
does not everyone who hears the Father learn from Him?
is not everyone given to Him by the Father?

something about what Jesus says sounds irresistible & secure:

everyone given to Him comes.
everyone who hears the Father and learns from Him comes.
no one who comes is cast out, ever

there's no 'everyone who is given to Him comes, if they also choose for themselves to' clause here??

if it's the Spirit that causes the ear to hear and the heart to learn, then it's not me that opens my ears, not me that opens my heart.
doesn't sound like it's me choosing, but God ordaining - the Father gives me to the Son, and the Father draws me by His Spirit, and the Father opens my heart and ears to hear Him and learn from Him, and i come to the Son - no "
if" but "all the Father gives will come"

this all sounds like God's work, where does it come down to me deciding for myself to be drawn, to hear, to learn, to come?

you are not the one who decides
this seems to line up with John 6 :)

I don't see how this post adds anything but unjustified and unspecified insult?

Could you be more clear please? What you said is confusing.

John 6:63-65
It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh is no help at all. The words that I have spoken to you are spirit and life. But there are some of you who do not believe." (For Jesus knew from the beginning who those were who did not believe, and who it was who would betray him.) And he said, "This is why I told you that no one can come to me unless it is granted him by the Father."

the Lord says, some of you do not believe, and that is why He told us that no one can come to Him unless it is granted by the Father.

Why does it follow from the fact that some do not believe that to come to Him is something that must be GRANTED by the Father?

When one believes, it is granted unto them by the Father. But let’s remember, this is pre-resurrection dispensation.

Philippians 1:29
For to you it has been granted on behalf of Christ, not only to believe in Him, but also to suffer for His sake

This is post-resurrection and it says the same thing. "granted to you to believe"

Yep, speaking of Gentiles, it has been granted unto them to believe and suffer fo His sake. Gentiles were never granted this before.

Were all Gentiles unable to believe in God before something happened? Were all Jews able to believe? Are they now? Does it say anywhere in scripture that someone or some class of people were/are unable to believe?

Is there anything in the letter to the Philippians believers that mentions them being Gentile? Or indicates that Paul is writing about some difference between Gentiles and Jews? It reads to me like he's personally addressing a specific group of individuals, not commenting on ethnic classes in a general way.

not even close

make up your minds...either grace is irresistable or the Holy Spirit draws people

do you not understand how the Holy Spirit works?

maybe try to answer about what I referred to instead of trying to make it sound like I did not refer to scripture when I absolutely did

last time we had a little conversation, you stated you just want to talk about scripture ...so go for it

now is your chance
