In the beginning of Peter's relationship with the Lord when he was awestruck at the Lord's power he fell down and begged the Lord to depart from him, conscious of his sin. But when the Lord was risen and stood on the beach and Peter was told "it is the Lord" he jumped naked into the sea and ran to meet the Lord.

Well, let's take a look in the word of God and see the love of God and how we should love each other.
Let’s go to 1 John 4: 10 Herein is love, not that we loved God, but that he loved us, and sent his Son to be the propitiation for our sins. 11 Beloved, if God so loved us, we ought also to love one another. 12 No man hath seen God at any time. If we love one another, God dwelleth in us, and his love is perfected in us. 13 Hereby know we that we dwell in him, and he in us, because he hath given us of his Spirit. 14 And we have seen and do testify that the Father sent the Son to be the Saviour of the world. 15 Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God. 16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 20 If a man say, I love God, and hateth his brother, he is a liar: for he that loveth not his brother whom he hath seen, how can he love God whom he hath not seen? 21 And this commandment have we from him, That he who loveth God love his brother also.
So this is a very good example on how love is distribute. Jesus is the propitiation for our sin, meaning Jesus paid for our sin, our past sin, not future sin. Paul said in (Rom. 3:23-25) (v.23) For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God. (v.24) Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: (v.25) Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God. He was the ultimate sacrifice for us. So we should look at our brother and Sisters as in the same love as Jesus has for us. Who is my brother and my Sister? All of the children of Adam!
Let’s go to Romans 13: 8 Owe no man any thing, but to love one another: for he that loveth another hath fulfilled the law. 9 For this, Thou shalt not commit adultery, Thou shalt not kill, Thou shalt not steal, Thou shalt not bear false witness, Thou shalt not covet; and if there be any other commandment, it is briefly comprehended in this saying, namely, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself. 10 Love worketh no ill to his neighbour: therefore love is the fulfilling of the law.
And that is what God’s holy commandments are all about; the first four tells you how to love God and the last six tells you how to love your neighbor. If you love your God you will not do any thing to offend him, like having other gods before him. You will do as he says like remember the sabbath day to keep it holy on the seventh day of the week. If you love him you will obey him when he tells you not to eat certain meats etc…
Note that Jesus states in the following verse that in order to love Him one has to keep His commandments.
John (14:15) If ye love me, keep my commandments.
Jesus further defines the love He requires when He states in the following verse that those who have His commandments and keep them are those that love Him. One does not have to guess at Jesus definition of love He made it clear.
John (14:21) He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.
Jesus also reinforced what was said in Deuteronomy verse (9) by adding that those that love Him will be loved by the Father. How does one love Jesus? by keeping His commandments and Moses said God will keep covenant and have mercy with those who keep His commandments. So therefore by following Jesus one shall receive love from Him as well as mercy from the Father.
Note in these scriptures it did not say those who profess their love for Jesus or those that claim that Jesus knows what in their heart. Jesus made a clear and direct statement if one has His commandments and keeps them they are the ones who love Him. To exhibit love towards Jesus one must engage in a specific action and that action is being obedience to the word of God. And one will see that they are to be obedient regardless of their feeling or the surrounding circumstances.
Jesus states again in the following verses what is required of an individual to receive His love.
John (15:9) As the Father hath loved me, so have I loved you: continue ye in my love.
(10) If ye keep my commandments, ye shall abide in my love; even as I have kept my Father's commandments, and abide in his love.
Notice Jesus use the word if ye keep my commandments, so what happen if ye do not keep his commandments. The above verse shows to be loved of Jesus one needs to be obedient. Jesus also states in verse (10) that He was obedient to the Father by keeping His commandments and therefore abides in His love. Now Jesus is the example man is to follow and just as He was obedient to the word of God we have to be obedient to God’s word.

I say that because I love Him, I obey Him. There's a difference, you know.
After seeking Him for a time, I had an encounter with my Father where He revealed His love for me to me. Complete, unconditional love for me. Eternal love. My natural response was to love Him back. In a few weeks it'll be 28 years since that happened. He has never turned away from me!
"The Lord is my strength and my power...He will never leave me!"
I say that because I love Him, I obey Him. There's a difference, you know.

Well, it is good that you have read the Book (Bible) and can quote so many scriptures about Jesus Christ but, do you KNOW HIM personally.... have you encountered His Love for you.... perhaps you can share a testimony....
Paul, while he was Saul knew all the scriptures of the Torah yet, he did not know Jesus Christ the Messiah... Jesus has to come to each of us and make Himself KNOWN.... it takes more than the scriptures... we need to encounter Him.... it takes The Word AND The Holy Spirit.
When Jesus Christ truly makes Himself known to us, we also encounter The Father..... so MUCH LOVE....indescribable! Life changing! We can no longer preach or teach the scriptures without saying something about how GREAT HIS LOVE is for us!
So, I ask you again, "Tell me about God's Love for you personally BEFORE you preach to me....."

When you made the following quote: "Some people believe they need not works for salvation, the book speaks against that."
I am not sure you understand properly the Biblical concept of "works". Good works are BECAUSE of Salvation NOT for Salvation. Apart from Salvation, all the works of mankind are but filthy rags before a thrice holy God. The Jews had perverted the works of the Law into a belief that keeping the Law and Commandments were to/for Salvation. Lost in the Jewish understanding of the Law, was that mankind could NOT keep the Law. The Law demanded perfection, as it's author was Perfect. Trying to keep the Law and the Commandments will not result in Salvation because Just one slip up, one omission, one sinful stray thought, will result in the penalty of death.
For this reason - those that are being saved must have a Redeemer. One who could satisfy the Law and Commandments on their behalf. The Lamb of God - Jesus Christ, whom all the OT Sacrifices pointed too. Rom_8:3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God, sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh:
Salvation out of "works" is expressly forbidden in the Scriptures:
Rom 11:5,6 Even so then at this present time also there is a remnant according to the election of grace. But if it is by grace, it is no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace.
Gal_2:16 yet knowing that a man is not justified by the works of the law but through faith in Jesus Christ, even we believed on Christ Jesus, that we might be justified by faith in Christ, and not by the works of the law: because by the works of the law shall no flesh be justified.
2Ti 1:8,9 Be not ashamed therefore of the testimony of our Lord, nor of me his prisoner: but suffer hardship with the gospel according to the power of God; who saved us, and called us with a holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before times eternal,
However, once saved by God's Grace - it leads to that one doing good works. This is not for Salvation but rather because of it. God loves His Saints and excepts their good works as good. These works, that the Saints will accomplish, were laid down before the foundation of the world.
Eph 2:10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God afore prepared that we should walk in them.
As true believers, we desire to do good works but our own sin nature, that is in our flesh, often prevents us from accomplishing good works all the time. However, sin is not the lifestyle of the believer and he/she will accomplish good works:
Tit_2:14 who gave himself for us, that he might redeem us from all iniquity, and purify unto himself a people for his own possession, zealous of good works.
Tit_3:14 And let our people also learn to maintain good works for necessary uses, that they be not unfruitful.
Heb_10:24 and let us consider one another to provoke unto love and good works;
There are many reminders and rebukes in the Scriptures about God's people not doing good works or committing sins like the unsaved Gentiles. These are not about obtaining Salvation or losing it but that as Saints ( "Holy ones", in the Greek), because we have been saved, we should not act like ones who are unsaved.

I don't want to be the one throwing cold water on your Love Fest and God is a God of Love. However, you do realize that God has other attributes - right? He is Righteous, Just, Wise, Jealous, Wrathful, Vengeful.... etc.
Should not these other Attributes get equal attention?
Did you know that there is not one verse of Scripture that authorizes believers to tell someone that "God loves them"?
Emphasizing "Love" apart from a proper understanding of Sin and the need for Repentance, helps no one. It may indeed give that person the illusion that God loves them in their sins and thus have no true knowledge of what genuine Repentance is nor what it looks like.

Notice that God did not make his love conditional on how obedient we were to turning from sins to keep the law. A whole book addressed that...Galatians.
He loved all of mankind who were yet:
-Ungodly
-Sinners
-Enemies
It's hard to resist temptations and to not sin.
He did the hard part.
Our part requires No effort.
Faith/ believing in the True Savior is our requirement.

You say that you're throwing water on my love-fest. There's nothing wrong with my love-fest. I am well-aware of His attributes...one can only properly understand His other attributes through the lens of His love. Wrath and vengeance are not for me. Yeshua took that for me. Repentance...

My spirit was reborn of imperishable seed when I was justified by faith. A sovereign act of God.
My soul is being sanctified, healed, saved, as I walk in repentance, denying self, taking up my cross, and following Jesus.
I have 8 illnesses and causes of chronic pain. I got sick from my job 21 years ago. I can't begin to describe all I've gone through since then. The one constant is that He has been with me the whole time. In late '99 He said to me, "I love you with an everlasting love." Perhaps a few weeks later He said, "I'll never leave you nor forsake you." A few weeks later He said, "You've been faithful with little, now I'm going to give you more." A few months later my suffering began in earnest. A.W. Tozer explains the Lord's purpose in this sort of thing.
You assumed that as I was reveling in the knowledge of the love of God, given to me by revelation, I was unaware of what if meant to be a disciple, having Christ formed in me. I understand that His love and acceptance is a gift that I could never begin to earn.
I died, He lives and dwells inside of me
I am finally assured of eternity
He never left my side, not even when I died
He was with me in the dark...right by my side
Faithful is His name!
He showed me, 28 years ago, that in Christ, He loves me and accepts me unconditionally. I believe Him! Shalom!

All of God's attributes flow from His LOVE.
God is Righteous because He is LOVE.
God is Just because He is LOVE.
God is Wise because He is LOVE.
God is Jealous because He is LOVE.

How can I NOT think about LOVE when I think about God??!!! I cannot separate the TWO....they are ONE and the SAME.
