The prob, as I see it, would be in taking the bread and wine...I don't think that would be right...an interesting discussion would be is it ok to let them as God judges them for what they do?
The bread and the wine are about remembering what Jesus did, it's not about us and what level or classification of sin that may be in our lives - it's about Him.
As for God judging them for remembering the Work of Christ, if they're in Christ, the judgement for their sins was meted out at the Cross. It would be unjust for God to judge the same sins twice.
Does that make their sin okay?
No.
Neither does it make any of our sins okay - sin is dumb and destructive to us and to those around us.
To those in Christ the exhortation to not sin is for our own good, not to keep us from God's judgement.
I don't think Christians should go ape over the gay situation...but I think it will, absolutely will, have repercussions because God has let us know what he thinks of that sin.
Of "that" sin?
"That" sin is grouped in with others in Romans 1 such as covetousness, malice, envy, murder, strife, deceit, maliciousness, gossip, slander, haters of God, insolence, haughtiness, boastfulness, inventors of evil, disobedience to parents, foolishness, faithlessness, heartlessness, ruthlessness . . .
"That" sin is just another sin in a long list common to all of us, and God feels the same way about those "other" sins, as well.
It's us who find certain sins more distasteful than others . . . likely because those are sins that we don't struggle with.
