Bread Crumbs “The Benefit of Tongues” December 8

One of the major benefits of being a Pentecostal believer is the use of tongues in prayer or worship. According to the book of Acts (2,10,19), whenever a born-again believer is initially baptized with the Holy Spirit, they speak with other tongues as the Spirit gives the utterance. This opens the door for the use of devotional tongues in the life of that saint. When we do not know what to say and we do not know how to pray, the Holy Spirit within us always does. He not only knows the mind of God and the will of God but He also knows what we truly require. A personal prayer offered in tongues is a perfect prayer of faith. Praise is the other use of the devotional tongue. The believer can yield his tongue to the Holy Spirit to magnify and praise God for all of His wondrous works. Isaiah stated that tongues utilized by a believer brings a supernatural rest to the heart and soul. This provides a sense of peace in the time of a storm. What a magnificent gift! Not only are we allowed to pray and praise in the perfect will of God, but our inner man is edified and the soul of man is comforted.

Acts 10:46 - For they heard them speak with tongues, and magnify God. Then answered Peter,

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (December 8, 2020)

Faith is dead without works!

James 2:17,20
17 Even so faith, if it hath not works, is dead, being alone.
20 But wilt thou know, O vain man, that faith without works is dead?

One of the biggest misunderstandings in Scripture is this verse. It has been looked at without considering who is behind the works which God looks at and sees as the works of FAITH. Remember this, God only honors what God does, and God is only pleased with what God does. We know this because Jesus told us that we can do no-thing without Him (John 15:5), and He spoke in the context of bearing fruit (works).

So therefore, let us look at this in new Light today. The works that take place when FAITH is FAITH which God honors, that being FAITH in the Cross of Jesus Christ are the WORKS OF THE HOLY SPIRIT. Remember that we are co-laborers, not just laborers. If the Holy Spirit isn’t allowed through the LEGAL process of God to work in our lives, FAITH is dead, meaning it is simply in the wrong object, and our works are only ours and are considered by God to be dead works. The LEGAL process of the Holy Spirit is through one’s FAITH in the Cross of Jesus Christ, and there we will see the fruit of FAITH.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:14
For we are made partakers of Christ, if we hold the beginning of our confidence steadfast unto the end;

Many things are written in the New Covenant that point us back to the Old Covenant, and I speak of God’s dealings with His people, so that we can have that history as our ensamples. Ensamples are prints, stamps, dies, and the resemblance of things. Much of Israel came out of Egypt, but FEW entered into the Promise Land. It is very important how you begin, for if you never properly begin you can never properly end, but there is a danger in beginning correctly, but not finishing correctly.

A race has a starting line and a finish line. With the Lord, it is not what you have, but what you do with what you have and we see that with the story of the talents (Matthew 25:14-30). No one is saved by works, but called unto good works in Salvation (Ephesians 2:10). This is a good place to remind us that God’s presence is not His approval. Israel had His presence all the while they were in the wilderness, but only two families went into the Promise land! Today, it is as the days of Noah, there will only be few that lay hold of that Eternal Life and hold the confidence they had at the beginning all the way to the end!!

Why one’s delight and meditation is not in the Word of God

Because they, although possibly unknowingly through deception, are walking in the counsel of the ungodly, standing in the way of sinners, and have found a seat at the table of the scornful.

Psalm 1:1-2
1 Blessed is the man that walketh not in the counsel of the ungodly, nor standeth in the way of sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful.
2 But his delight is in the law of the Lord ; and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Ask the Lord today to fill your heart with His Spirit and a love for His Words of Life

Are you planted in a local church where you are being taught HOW the Cross of Jesus Christ pertains to each day of your life?

Are you even hearing about a Sin Nature?

Are you being taught that you CAN live in victory over the Sin Nature through faith in the Cross alone?

If we aren’t HEARING and RECEIVING God’s Word in the context of the Cross of Jesus Christ, we are not hearing or receiving properly.

THIS IS TO THE CHURCH - DANGER!!
Revelation 3:1-6
[1] And unto the angel of the church in Sardis write; These things saith he that hath the seven Spirits of God, and the seven stars; I know thy works, that thou hast a name that thou livest, and art dead.
[2] Be watchful, and strengthen the things which remain, that are ready to die: for I have not found thy works perfect before God.
[3] REMEMBER therefore HOW YOU HAVE RECEIVED AND HEARD, and hold fast, and repent. If therefore thou shalt not watch, I will come on thee as a thief, and thou shalt not know what hour I will come upon thee.
[4] Thou hast a few names even in Sardis which have not defiled their garments; and they shall walk with me in white: for they are worthy.
[5] HE THAT OVERCOMES, the same shall be clothed in white raiment; and I WILL NOT BLOT HIS NAME OUT OF THE BOOK OF LIFE, but I will confess his name before my Father, and before his angels.
[6] He that hath an ear, let him hear what the Spirit saith unto the churches.

Your Word for Today

For if after they have escaped the pollutions of the world through the knowledge of the Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, they are again entangled again therein, and overcome, the latter end is worse with them than the beginning. For it had been better for them not to have known the way of Righteousness, than, after they had known it, to turn from the Holy Commandment delivered unto them. But it is happened unto them according to the true Proverb, The dog is turned to his own vomit again; and the sow that was washed to her wallowing in the mire (II Pet. 2:20-22).

Peter is saying the same thing here that Paul said in Hebrews 6:4-6 and 10:26-29. He is speaking of Believers, that is, people who have truly been Born-Again, who have now ceased to believe Christ and what He did at the Cross. While they may claim to believe Christ, they have actually divorced Him from the Cross, hence the Apostle saying that they are “denying the Lord Who bought them,” i.e., denying what Christ did for them at the Cross (2:1).

These are not individuals, as some claim, who have merely heard about the Lord, and who have refused to accept Him. These are people who have “known the way of Righteousness,” which means that they once accepted the Righteousness of Christ and were Born-Again. Actually, no unsaved person can “know the way of Righteousness.” These individuals knew that way, but turned to something else, which Peter likens to a “dog turning to his own vomit again, and a hog that was washed going back to her wallowing in the mire.” This completely refutes the unscriptural doctrine of Unconditional Eternal Security.

We teach Conditional Eternal Security. As long as the Faith of a person remains in Christ and what He did at the Cross, that person is eternally secure. If the person moves his faith to something else, and it doesn’t really matter what the “something else” is, he loses his way. The correct ingredient of Salvation is Faith in Christ and what Christ did at the Cross. If that is denied, they have “crucified to themselves the Son of God afresh, and put Him to an open shame” (Heb. 6:6). And if a person stays in that condition, and we speak of continuing to deny the Cross, such a person will be eternally lost, despite the fact that they once were saved.

As previously stated, this is the sin of the modern Church. It professes Christ loudly, but it denies the Cross.

How do I know that?

I know that because of the many and varied schemes offered which claim to be the way. I speak of the “Purpose Driven Life” doctrine, the “Government of Twelve” doctrine, the “Word of Faith” doctrine, “Denominationalism,” “works righteousness,” etc. If one accepts these doctrines, and a 828 host which we haven’t named, one is “denying the Lord Who bought them” (2:1).

If there ever was a time that Believers should renew their Faith in Christ, it is now!

Bread Crumbs “Love at First Sight” December 9

The day that I accepted Jesus Christ as my personal Lord and Savior is the day I truly began to love Him. As He lifted the weight of sin from my heart and replaced it with the joy of my salvation, I knew that I had embraced a God who was truly a Savior. I knew that a life-changing relationship had begun. For me, it was love at first sight. I had not truly seen Jesus for who He was and what He could do before this. As the years progressed my love for Him has continued to grow. How can you not love someone who does nothing but love you, no matter the situation, the complications? He loved me even though I acted in stubborn rebellion. Even when I did not respond properly to His leading and guiding, He has always expressed His never-ending love for me and His willingness and desire to stay in relationship with me. He never condoned my sin. He never “white-washed” my failure. Instead, He convicted me of it. He cleansed me from it. He freed me from its power and then set me back on the straight and narrow path of righteousness. I love Him because of the way He has always, first, loved me.

1 John 4:19 - We love him, because he first loved us.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:15
While it is said, Today if ye will hear his voice, harden not your hearts, as in the provocation.

Again, we see the reach by the Lord and the urgency of THIS DAY TODAY for us, to hear our faithful Lord, and if we are not, it is because our hearts have become hardened through the deceitfulness of Sin. Not the very acts of Sin, but the Sin Nature which is referred to here, and is ruling because we are trusting in something other than Christ and His work at Calvary. Do we say we are trusting in Christ and His work on the Cross, but the fruit is not there? When we are trusting in what Christ did for us at Calvary, it allows the Holy Spirit to change us, as He leads us into all Truth.

We find in Romans chapter 6 that DAILY we must reckon ourselves to be dead indeed to the Sin Nature, as Jesus taught a DAILY denial of self (Luke 9:23), and a taking up of our Cross to be able to follow Him. If that is what is required, I guess you can see now why we as the Church are in big trouble. Are you hearing Him today? If you are, you are being pointed to Calvary, so that He can guide you into all Truth (John 16:13), for through Truth is where He DAILY supplies us with the benefits of what He did to become our Truth!

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (December 9, 2020)

FAITH works, but it only works IN Christ

FAITH works, but it only works BY love

Galatians 5:6
For IN Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth anything, nor uncircumcision; but FAITH which worketh BY LOVE.

There is quite a difference between a Laborer and a co-Laborer. The Laborer labors by himself, while the co-laborer labors with someone else. Unless the Christian’s FAITH remains IN Christ Jesus, which always points to where we were planted in Him by being planted in the likeness of His death (Romans 6:5), the FAITH isn’t biblical FAITH, and the labor is only ours. Christ loved us and gave Himself for us, and that is the love which fuels our faith.

Paul the Apostle said the life that we now live is by the FAITH of the Son of God who loved us and gave Himself for us

Galatians 2:20
I am crucified with Christ: nevertheless I live; yet not I, but Christ liveth in me: and the life which I now live in the flesh I live by the FAITH of the Son of God, who loved me, and gave himself for me.

What a Great and Mighty God we serve!! But ONLY through Faith in the Cross (The Blood Sacrifice of Jesus) are we able to experience Him and all that He has declared Himself to be! (Rom.8:32) Everything else is only make-believe and a road to destruction! Clinging to the Cross and going on with Jesus!!

Bread Crumbs “The Elimination of Fear” December 10

Fear is a devastating enemy that every Christian will encounter. There is no amount of faith or status of faith that will allow the believer to be excluded from being confronted by fear. When fear strikes it can cause the believer to react in ways that are not pleasing to God. One of the most common responses to fear is that of activity. The individual feels that something must be done and done in a hurry. Without careful evaluation of the circumstances and without seeking God, the believer simply responds. This hasty response produces an action that is not well thought out or God-directed and can bring forth more hurt than it does help. A second common response to fear is that of inactivity. Fear so grips the heart and mind that all of life’s forward motion becomes lethargic or totally idle. Discouragement and distress rapidly multiply and the compiling negative emotion causes the believer to just shut down. Neither of these responses is correct. The right way to handle the onslaught of fear is to trust in the Lord and to seek His face for guidance through the adversity. We are to exorcise the fear that suddenly appears and dismays, by exercising the faith that already exists in your heart!

Psalm 46:2 - Therefore will not we fear, though the earth be removed, and though the mountains be carried into the midst of the sea;

LET’S TALK ABOUT FAITH (December 10, 2020)

Again today, let us look at LOVE being the fuel of FAITH, and without LOVE, the Apostle Paul says that he is only making noise (1 Corinthians 13:1), without LOVE he is nothing (v. 2), and without LOVE all his works, no matter how noble they may appear, even if he gives his life for the most noble cause, will add no profit to him (v. 3). Wow!! Therefore today let us know that it is not what we do, but what our faithful Lord is able to do in us, for us, to us, and through us by this measure of FAITH we have been given of Him (Romans 12:3) which only works by LOVE (Galatians 5:6).

That LOVE flows from the very Grace through which He by FAITH tasted death for us all (Hebrews 2:9, Galatians 2:20), therefore the object of FAITH for all of God’s people has to be without mixture, the Cross of Jesus Christ, for there, is where FAITH was honored by God’s Grace being poured out and offered to all today. This is the only place the people of God find the LOVE that fuels FAITH, which is the only FAITH God honors with His presence and power, and this is called His Grace!

If you are trying to choose love, or working hard to forgive others, you will not be able to do it, and if you think you can, you are only working hard in a sinking boat. Ours is not to choose love, joy, forgiveness, but to choose to trust in Jesus and what He did at Calvary so that by FAITH and through Him we can forgive, love, and have great joy! We are either working hard to see the fruit of the Spirit and will not, or we are trusting in Christ’s Finished work and experiencing the fruit of THAT WORK by the Spirit through FAITH.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Hebrews 3:16
For some, when they had heard, did provoke: howbeit not all that came out of Egypt by Moses.

Were these not all those led out of Egypt by Moses is the proper rendering of this Scripture, and the point is, how could the people who God brought out of Egypt with a Mighty Right Hand such as He did, rebel against Him? There is another story in the Old Testament, of Moses, Aaron, and a couple of his sons who actually SAW GOD (Exodus 24:1-11), but these same two sons of Aaron would later distort and rebel against God’s Way of Sacrifice and offer strange fire and God would strike them dead (Numbers 26:61).

This particular portion of Scripture is written for us to be able to recognize the importance of TODAY, and to continue in God’s Word (Hear Him), for Jesus said those would be His disciples (John 8:31-32). All the great things God has done for us, and all the great things we have seen of the Lord in all of our yesterdays mean absolutely NOTHING today without Faith in that great Sacrifice of Christ again today! The Lord has given all of us who are His people the measure of Faith (Romans 12:3) because of our trusting in His work at Calvary, therefore let us maintain that Faith in the only place we will find God working His Grace through it. The Cross of Jesus Christ!

The world of Noah's day continued on as always, and the warnings of this preacher were of no consequence to them. He was a spectacle and a nuisance at best, but make no mistake Noah definitely preached the Gospel to these people, and did so year in and year out. The Holy Spirit, through Peter, referred to him as “a Preacher of Righteousness” (2 Peter 2:5). But even with all the rejection, the Old Preacher just kept right on building the Ark and kept right on preaching. And one day it started to rain and the door to the Ark closed and all the scoffers were swept away in the flood. The Bible says it will be like that again: Luke 17:26-27.

It's starting to rain!! Repentance of Unbelief and Sin to embrace the Cross of Christ is man kinds Only Hope!! TODAY is the day of Salvation!!
