Bread Crumbs “Becoming Christian” June 6

You are a human being not a human doing. It is more important to become something rather than to focus upon performing some religious task. As a Christian, we are to “be being changed” into the image of Christ. The Grace of God alone can provide us with the adjustments and corrections that are needed. This is the work the Holy Spirit does when He is free to labor in us. He gains the legal right to do so when He sees the believer placing his faith in Christ and Him Crucified. As we are being molded on the inside into what God desires us to become, we will be equipped to perform, prepared to work, and will labor for Christ. Let our attention be focused upon proper faith. Then as we are conformed into the image of Christ, we will be further equipped to perform the task that we were born to accomplish. Christ desires for each member of His body to not only exist, but to also actively participate in the work of His kingdom. Christ wants to see people saved and believers edified. This requires Christian ministry towards both the lost and the saved. As we believe properly, we are both changed and empowered to carry out these tasks.

1 Corinthians 15:10 - But by the grace of God I am what I am: and his grace which was bestowed upon me was not in vain; but I laboured more abundantly than they all: yet not I, but the grace of God which was with me.

THOSE WHO GATHER OUTSIDE OF GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS AREN’T BEING GATHERED BY HIM

Isaiah 54:14-17

[14] In RIGHTEOUSNESS shalt thou be established: thou shalt be far from oppression; for thou shalt not fear: and from terror; for it shall not come near thee.

[15] Behold, THEY SHALL SURELY GATHER TOGETHER, BUT NOT BY ME: whosoever shall gather together against thee shall fall for thy sake.

[16] Behold, I have created the smith that bloweth the coals in the fire, and that bringeth forth an instrument for his work; and I have created the waster to destroy.

[17] No weapon that is formed against thee shall prosper; and every tongue that shall rise against thee in judgment thou shalt condemn. This is the heritage of the servants of the Lord, and their RIGHTEOUSNESS is of me, saith the Lord.

NO MATTER WHAT HAPPENS IN THE DAYS AHEAD, IT WILL BE THE ENEMY WHO FALLS AND NOT US
REMEMBER THE CROSS, FOR ONLY FROM THERE DOES GOD’S RIGHTEOUSNESS FLOW!

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:10
For do I now persuade men, or God, or do I seek to please men? For if I yet pleased men, I should not be the servant of Christ.

If we read this bible verse with the others around it, we will find that God through the Apostle Paul is saying to us that if we attempt to preach any other Gospel than that which He was sent to preach, we are in an attempt to please men, which eliminates us from the experience of serving Christ. He cannot be served by the good things we do, and that is the great deception for all to come to the conclusion of. It is not the good that we do, but the will of the Father which He carries out in and through our lives when our faith is in the cross of Jesus Christ, for this is called “By Grace through Faith.”

Serving Christ can ONLY be experienced when one’s faith is in what made them a servant of God. The cross. When we read Romans Chapter 6, we see that one can only serve God if one is serving Righteousness, and one is only serving Righteousness if their faith is in the cross (Romans 6:17-22), for it was ONLY then that we were made “Servants of Righteousness.” (Romans 6:18). When we are not believing/trusting with our hearts unto the Righteous work Christ carried out for us at the cross, we are not serving Righteousness, and we need to remember that Righteousness is the ONLY avenue through which Holiness is experienced (Romans 6:19-22) and the Lord seen (Hebrews 12:14), therefore when faith is not in the cross of Christ, Christ cannot be seen! Praise and worship the Lamb forever, for He is our Righteousness!

Bread Crumbs “Strength and Peace” June 7

When the individual Christian learns to place their faith in the finished work of Christ, they open the door to every blessing that God desires to bestow. One of the first evidences that our faith is in the proper object comes as we experience the dominion of sin receding and victory over sin increasing. Through faith and grace, we can experience a true life of holiness and righteousness, as God's Spirit supernaturally invalidates and eradicates sin’s grip on our hearts and in our minds. Then, the same principle that we have applied to the sin issue is to be applied to all other areas of life. If we begin to trust God to work for us in our relationships, our finances, and our employment situations, we will find ourselves receiving what is needed in each particular instance. As we trust Him for our marriages, our children, and those we care about, we will begin to grasp that He is both capable and willing to work on our behalf. All because of faith in Christ’s finished work. He is a God that will give strength to His people through grace. And, He will bring peace to the soul who learns to rely on Him in all things.

Psalm 29:11 - The LORD will give strength unto his people; the LORD will bless his people with peace.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:11
But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man.

“But I certify you” refers to Paul having before and once again declaring and making known to Timothy and the Saints there in Ephesus that the Gospel which had been preached unto them was not after the opinions and thoughts of men. Men’s thoughts are nothing more than thoughts derived from their flesh, and that is why God has given His Children His Spirit and His Word. We need to ask Him to fill us with both daily.

Many things are preached today without the Gospel context involved, and even boasted of such saying, “Everything in the Bible doesn’t need to be seen in the Light of the Cross of Jesus Christ.” This is what led the Church out of the faith centuries ago, and today holds us paralyzed with pretending instead of contending for the Faith (Jude 1:3)! All of God’s Words are In Righteousness (Proverbs 8:8), and His Righteousness is EXCLUSIVELY revealed in the Gospel (Romans 1:16-17). Only through faith in the death of Christ can ANY Righteousness be experienced (Galatians 2:21), whether it is the initial declaration by God making us Righteous in Christ at the born again experience, or our daily fruits of Righteousness. We live by EVERY Word of God (Matthew 4:4), yet there is no Life without Christ (John 14:6), therefore EVERY Word of God is somehow tied to or points us to Jesus Christ and Him crucified, whether we have the eyes to see it or not! Ask for this wisdom!

Bread Crumbs “Way Beyond Reason” June 8

Did you know that you could wait on the Lord far beyond the point of human reasoning? Did you know that it is right to trust Him, despite what your senses tell you, despite what the circumstances scream, in spite of all the evidence that rises to the surface that seems contrary? When God leads us, He will sometimes test our faith by forcing us to go beyond the point of no return. He just might ask us to step out on the proverbial limb or to swing across a dark and cavernous gorge without the benefit of a safety net. It is not an easy thing to wait beyond the scope of our own sight. And, of course, we must be careful to never tempt the Lord or be presumptuous in our faith! As God leads and guides, we just might find ourselves moving past the acceptable timeline, beyond the point of past due, far beyond the established boundaries of safety. Stay the course, weary Christian! He is out to prove to us that even when it appears He is far too late, the truth is, our God will always be, and always has been, right on time!

Psalm 27:14 - Wait on the LORD: be of good courage, and he shall strengthen thine heart: wait, I say, on the LORD.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:12
For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The Apostle Paul received the gospel which he preached by the revelation/unveiling of Jesus Christ, first of all in person (Acts 9), then having to be taught the Scriptures all over again by the Holy Spirit now seeing the person and the work of His Lord Jesus Christ from Genesis to Malachi. Is that Who and What you are seeing on every page of the Word of God? This is why Jesus taught us that we need to pay attention to WHAT we hear (Mark 4:4) and HOW we hear (Luke 8:18).

No one else was given the revelation of the Cross of Christ straight from the Lord except Paul. The revelation of what actually took place on the cross, and how it is applied in experience to our lives was given to Paul, not any of the other Apostles, but to Paul alone. He then began to share that message which held such authority that they recognized what had been laid upon him (1 Corinthians 9:16, 2 Peter 3:16). The other Disciples had great encouragement for Paul concerning the things they had been a part of as they walked with Jesus daily for three and a half years, but the revelation of the cross and its power came to Paul then to them and to all of us! This revelation is not ONLY for our entrance into Christ, but to be able to everyday of our lives serve Him in Righteousness and Holiness without fear (Luke 1:74-75). Glory to Jesus! Yes He has called you unto this!

Bread Crumbs “Another Comforter” June 9

Jesus said He would send us back “another” Comforter after going to the Cross to break the power of Sin over humanity. Truly He died! Truly He rose again! And truly He sent back the person of the Holy Spirit to indwell all believers. The term “another” is a careful and distinct choice of a word. Christ was not sending us a second-rate substitute. This word “another” indicates that another person which was the exact dup...licate of the one who was there before, would soon be coming to live with believers. It means “one of the very same kind.” The Holy Spirit is not some random second-rate substitute for the person of Christ. The disciples would have soon realized that the presence of the Holy Spirit was identical to being with Christ in person. Instead of being limited to just one location as Christ was, the Holy Spirit could now be present in the life of every born-again believer. The veritable presence of Christ dwells and abides with each of us by means of the Holy Spirit. My advice? Get to know Him in an intimate personal way! He waits to reveal the truths of Christ to you.

John 14:16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:13
For ye have heard of my conversation in time past in the Jews' religion, how that beyond measure I persecuted the church of God, and wasted it:

Paul begins at this point to reveal the difference between who he was and what he had in the past in the “Jews’ religion and traditions” and that of which he had now, which was a relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ! Paul had even persecuted the Church, which when Christ confronted him on the road to Damascus, He said, “Saul, Saul, why persecutest thou Me (Acts 9:4). This is very important because Jesus Christ sees the Church as Himself, referring to His Body in the earth today.

If our faith doesn’t remain in the cross of Christ, but we are subtly and deceptively moved to trusting ANYTHING other than His finished work at Calvary, then for sure whether we are persecuting the Church as openly and blatantly as Paul did or not, we are at some degree hurting the Church/Body of Jesus Christ. When our faith is in anything other than Christ and His atoning sacrifice daily, the Holy Spirit cannot work (Romans 8:2), and if He isn’t working, it is only our flesh working, and our fleshly attempts to serve God are at enmity with Him (Romans 8:7). No matter how wrong we have been and how much damage we have done in the past, God awaits daily for us to humble ourselves through faith in the cross of His Son, and return to our first love (Revelation 2:4-5), which is the love that rejoices in the Truth (1 Corinthians 13:6).

Bread Crumbs “The Good Fight” June 10

Fight the good fight of faith! Some who adhere primarily to a doctrine of Christian works, say that “just believing God” is the equivalent of doing nothing. They believe in action, labor, work, toil, and labor for reward. Those of us who choose to agonize the good agony of faith are said to be lazy or inept. The ones proclaiming this untruth will rarely ever experience the true war. I speak of the battle to believe in the face of the improbable or just plain impossible. Seemingly alone, we stand naked and unarmed against an enemy that hoovers over and above our natural means of defense or ability. But unknown to the enemy, we have a friend that sticks closer than a brother. Who, seeing our refusal to give in to the bully of reality, rises up and fights for us. Without faith it is impossible to please Him! Let me fight to believe that God is on my side. Let me fight to receive all the things Jesus has already provided through His death on the Cross. Let me fight this great, good, and agonizing battle of faith. I will see God arise! I will see my enemies scattered! Amen and Amen!

1 Timothy 6:12 - Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:14
And profited in the Jews' religion above many my equals in mine own nation, being more exceedingly zealous of the traditions of my fathers.

Paul continues to remind the Church in Galatia of his past accomplishments which only profited him among his equals in his nation of Israel. There is a profit among men, where men exalt one another based on their fleshly strengths, earthly wisdom, their gifts, and even the keeping of certain traditions. Without Christ as the King of our hearts and allowed to direct our steps, we will only be men among men, and it doesn’t matter how we look at each other, nor the zeal we have concerning anything other than Christ and His work at the Cross. It will all have been in vain without Christ when the dust settles.

Christ came and died for sinners because of the love of God, and outside of THAT FAITH, there will only be the zeal of fleshly men, and will always be without proper knowledge (Romans 10:2-3). Paul is revealing the misdirection of his previous zeal compared to his zeal now. Profit among men does not bring about a profit with God, but profit with God will always bring about the proper profit among the right men! Being zealous for God without submitting one’s self to God’s Righteousness (Romans 10:1-4), that being the Way of the Cross of Christ, will only result in men carrying lanterns without oil, and the end of that man will be death and not peace!

Bread Crumbs “True Grace” June 11

Help from God that is not freely received and freely given does not qualify as grace. Believers serve a God who is the God of “all” grace. This means that His nature is to extend to the human race that which has not been earned, labored for, or deserved. When we operate from the framework of mind that insists upon earning blessings or provisions of God, we insult the price that has already been paid for that blessing or prov...ision. Man's pride pushes him to believe that God moves on man's behalf solely because of something He has done. But this attitude is totally foreign to the definition and understanding of what Grace truly is. Christ died on Calvary that the Holy Spirit might dwell in the heart of every believer. He desires to freely give us knowledge, Illumination, insight, and many other spiritual or physical blessings. He desires to freely reveal, lead, guide, and provide. This does not mean that a believer need not be consecrated, be consistent, or be persistent relative to what is sought after or needed. But it needs to be understood that if we feel that we have earned what we obtain, then that belief will hinder us from freely receiving. Thank goodness for the grace of God!

1 Corinthians 2:12 - Now we have received, not the spirit of the world, but the spirit which is of God; that we might know the things that are freely given to us of God.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:15
But when it pleased God, who separated me from my mother's womb, and called me by his grace,

The Apostle Paul had been separated from the time he had been in his mother’s womb by the Lord, who called him by His Grace. Remembering that it is impossible for God to be pleased without faith (Hebrews 11:6), we see that Paul eventually accepted this call of Grace by Faith. Grace calls, saves (Ephesians 2:5-8), teaches (Titus 2:11-12, and is that by which all Christian labor takes place (1 Corinthians 15:10). Never forget that Grace does all these things through Faith, and that being the Faith of Jesus Christ who loved us and gave Himself for us (Galatians 2:20).

Grace only flows from heaven to man through faith in Christ and His work on the cross, for it was there that He tasted death by Grace for ALL men (Hebrews 2:9). Outside of that object of Faith, there will be no Grace, which is what God Himself does in, for, to, and through the lives of men! God has called ALL men exclusively through what He did in His Son, Jesus Christ, at the Cross, and is why the Lamb had to be slain in His plan before the foundation of the world (1 Peter 1:19-20, Revelation 13:8). God only speaks to men in these last days by His Son (Hebrews 1:1-2), referring to through the blood He shed (Hebrews 12:24) that all might be called, although only few will choose Him.

Bread Crumbs “Faith Produces Works” June 12

The Christian that knows how to fight the good fight of faith will be the most active, hardworking believer in your church. The reason is simple. Properly placed faith (which must be in the Cross, the finished work of Christ) results in God’s grace being constantly bestowed upon the Saint. One aspect of God’s grace is the effectual working of the Holy Spirit. With the Holy Spirit as our power source, much can be do...ne. Faith in one's own labor, routine, rules, or the latest Christian fad reduces the power source of the believer to self. Which is greater? Self or the Holy Spirit? The answer is obvious. Those who fight the true Biblical fight of faith will receive a supernatural power that will enable them to get the task at hand accomplished. We are to become "His workmanship created in Christ Jesus unto good works." Proper faith opens the door to grace. Grace supplies power. The power supplied believer lives and works for God from a never-ending flow of strength. There is no fear of “burnout” here! We do not sit idly by as we fight the fight of faith! Proper faith always produces good works of every kind!

Ephesians 2:10 - For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus unto good works, which God hath before ordained that we should walk in them.
