Bread Crumbs “Cross-Eyed” June 1

Paul received the understanding of the gospel from the Lord directly. He was not taught the content of the New Covenant by men but by the Spirit of God. The greatest revelation that a Christian can receive in this life is the understanding of Christ and Him Crucified. All the benefits of salvation that are needed in every circumstance are available through the personal revelation of this truth. The Lord is attempting to open the eyes of the Church to the truth that He has provided for us all that we need in Christ. He has not asked us to earn our salvation or to labor for our sanctification. Instead, He is asking us from a grateful heart to receive, rest, and rely upon what He has provided in and through Christ. The sacrifice of His Son prepared such magnificent benefits for the entirety of the human race that there has never been anything remotely like it. All of these benefits are accessed by faith alone. Faith must reside in the person and work of Christ to access these benefits. Do you hear what the Spirit is saying to the churches? Thank you, Lord, for continuing to reveal to “whosoever will” the same truths that you revealed to the Apostle Paul! Are you “Cross-eyed?”

Galatians 1:12 - For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:5
To whom be glory for ever and ever. Amen.

The EXCLUSIVE avenue through which God our Father is glorified is IN and THROUGH His Son, The Lord Jesus Christ. Where Jesus (Faith in His work at the cross) is not involved, there is nothing being done to glorify God or that will eternally be remembered. Jesus said that we could do NO-THING without Him (John 15:5). We are either walking with Him as He walks in the Light of who He is (1 John 1:7) through faith in His work at the cross exclusively, or we are not walking with Him (Colossians 2:6). Many Christians only think they are (Galatians Chapter 3, Revelation 3:2-5).

The focus of the cross of Christ has been lost in the Church, for we have thought for centuries its power was only for the lost. Today the illumination of God’s Word as it relates to the Cross of Jesus Christ, and its relation to our daily lives is being revealed, but unfortunately it is being rejected by most as the only object of faith which God will accept, honor and reward. We can cry all day long, “God show us and give us your glory”, but until we come back to faith in the cross alone, there will be nothing more than darkness we are calling Light! Our Righteousness afforded us at the cross alone (Isaiah 32:17) is what shines as our Light (Psalm 37:6), and is the Path on which we will find our Lord walking (Psalm 23:3, 1 John 1:7). Glory be to our Heavenly Father and the Lamb forever! When you surrender to the Truth of the Cross of Jesus Christ, you will find everything different in experience again Child of God just as it was at the born again experience!

Bread Crumbs “A Man and a Mirror” June 2

I have been keeping a watchful eye on a certain person that I know very well. I have observed that their walk with God is not always what it should be. At times they seem to detour off track. Self-righteousness has been known to make an appearance and on other occasions the flesh becomes painfully obvious. Every now and then the ugly face of worldliness is evidenced. It can be very disappointing to behold. For the most part, this person is an “on fire” believer, standing strong in the faith, pursuing God with all that they have. They reveal a love for people, both saved and lost, edifying by truth those they encounter. After watching closely for quite some time I have concluded that God must be very patient and long-suffering with one’s personal shortcomings. He obviously gives all of us time to willingly conform to His image and His ways. But keeping things in balance, we must also bear in mind that God’s mercy is not an excuse to travel in a wrong direction. We are not to make ourselves at home with lifestyles that are unbiblical. As I continue my observations it makes me wonder; just what else will I see in my mirror tomorrow?

Philippians 3:12 - Not as though I had already attained, either were already perfect: but I follow after, if that I may apprehend that for which also I am apprehended of Christ Jesus.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:6
I marvel that ye are so soon removed from him that called you into the grace of Christ unto another gospel:

One of the overlooked realities in the Church today is that we as the Children of God can remove ourselves from Him that called us in the grace of Christ. The reason this has been so easily overlooked and not understood is because of the damnable heresy of once saved always saved, which teaches an unconditional security of which the Word of God does not teach. God will never leave, nor will He forsake us, but when we begin trusting in anything other than what Christ afforded us through His death at the cross, we remove ourselves from Him, and unfortunately this is where MOST of the Church is today. This doesn’t mean we are lost, but that we are most definitely headed that direction (Romans 11:21-22, Revelation 3:3-5).

This is rarely heard from pulpits around the world today, but the reality of it is taking place like never before. Paul said there would be other gospels, other spirits and even other jesus’ (2 Corinthians 11:3-4) taught, and this is taking place in almost every place of worship in the world today. You say, “How do you know that?” Where the message of the cross is not being preached, whatever the message is can only produce a self righteousness, and not the fruit of Christ’s Righteousness afforded and imparted only through faith in the cross of Christ! Most of the Churches preachers today, and even some of the ones who claim the cross is the only Way, have moved back into a place of assumption, where they assume this is where everyone’s faith resides. Many Pastors have become historians, health centered or other things instead of simply preaching the Gospel of Jesus Christ, and depending upon God’s Grace that comes through that narrow Way alone!

Bread Crumbs “Growing in Grace” June 3

God's Word exhorts us as believers to grow in both the attributes of grace and knowledge. Most of us already understand how to go about growing in knowledge. For one, we have the Word of God available for our personal study. The believer should be spending some time there each and every day learning its content. Each time we open the Bible we grow in the understanding and knowledge of our God and His magnificent wondrous redemption plan. Every time we go to a Bible preaching Church and the Pastor preaches truth, we grow in knowledge. But the question must be asked, "How then does a person grow in grace?" How do we increase in something we cannot work for, earn, labor for, or deserve? As we learn to rely exclusively upon Christ and His Cross, we find grace (in the form of the Holy Spirit's help and power) that flows more frequently. As we become more reliant upon the Lord we mature into dependence. This approach to faith brings a steady increase in the amount of grace we will receive. To grow in grace means that I am to ever see my desperate need for the Lord. That need must be greater today than it was yesterday!

2 Peter 3:18 - But grow in grace, and in the knowledge of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ. To him be glory both now and for ever. Amen.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:7
Which is not another; but there be some that trouble you, and would pervert the gospel of Christ.

There is NOT another Gospel God says through the Apostle Paul, and goes as far as to tell the Church (us) that if someone comes along and preaches another gospel, which is not God’s Word in the context of Christ and His work at the cross, that they are only attempting to trouble us and to pervert that which we have already believed. The gospel of Jesus Christ is the exclusive avenue through which this precious faith that we have obtained comes to anyone (2 Peter 1:1). Don’t be troubled by those who are perverting/twisting the gospel of Jesus Christ, and remember, they creep in among us with all the right words, then later they distract and lead away from that which is God’s only Way of Righteousness!

The Righteousness of Jesus Christ is offered ONLY through what He provided in His death at the cross which is the Gospel, and offers to whosoever will believe upon Him that Righteousness of faith (Romans 4:13, 10:10). When Righteousness is not the fruit of our lives, God is not pleased, because He says it is impossible to please Him without faith (Hebrews 11:6). The only faith which pleases God is The Faith of The Lord Jesus Christ who loved us and gave Himself for us (Galatians 2:20). Those who have believed upon Christ’s finished work at the cross for their redemption from sin have been given ‘the measure of faith’ (Romans 12:3), which refers to the ‘portion’ of His faith. When anyone at anytime begins trusting in anything other than the cross of Christ, that faith is no longer functioning, for it only functions through the same way in which we received it (Romans 8:2, Galatians 5:6, Colossians 2:6).

Your Word for Today

“and the LORD answered me, and said, Write the Vision, and make it plain upon tables, that he may run who reads it. For the Vision is yet for an appointed time, but at the end it shall speak, and not lie: though it tarry, wait for it; because it will surely come, it will not tarry (Hab. 2:2-3).

For Habakkuk, it was a perplexing problem that God’s People would suffer and the wicked go free. He realized that because of Israel’s sin, punishment was imminent; but there was a di...lemma in trying to understand how a Holy God could use the wicked Chaldeans to chasten His Children. The Prophet, however, came to recognize that whatever God did was best and He would take care of the situation. The word “Faith” is mentioned only two times in the Old Testament (Deut. 32:20; Hab. 2:4). In fact, the statement made by Habakkuk, “The just shall live by his faith,” presents the very foundation of the New Covenant. So, the Lord was telling the Prophet the following:

Irrespective as to the condition that Israel was in presently, the Lord gives a ray of hope to the Prophet; it was probably during the time of the Prophet Jeremiah, just before Judah was destroyed by the Babylonians.

The Lord said:

1. “Write the Vision”: That’s exactly what Habakkuk did. The Promise was short, but oh so powerful. It spoke of “Justification by Faith.”

2. “Make it plain upon tables”: This Gospel Message, so important it was, must be clear and easy to read.

3. “That he may run who reads it”: In essence, the Lord is saying that while situations in the near future are going to be difficult, victory is coming.

4. “For the Vision is yet for an appointed time”: It was not in doubt, the time had already been set, and by the Lord of Glory. In fact, the Vision would be fulfilled in Christ, and, more particularly, when the meaning of the New Covenant was given to the Apostle Paul. That meaning was “Justification by Faith.”

5. “But at the end it shall speak, and not lie”: Nothing will be able to stop its fulfillment.

6. “Though it tarry, wait for it”: In other words, it’s not coming at the moment, but it will come.

7. “Because it will surely come, it will not tarry”: In other words, Israel will see many hard times between the present and the fulfillment; however, at the appointed time, it most definitely would come.

And so it did! And so it will!”

Bread Crumbs “The Greatest Love” June 4

Those who have truly been born-again by the Spirit of God have entered into a personal relationship with the Lord Jesus Christ. As a result, there is an abiding love for Him that is a sensational feature of their existence. This love stems from a grateful heart. This person understands that their debt of sin has been paid for by Christ and that they have been forgiven by the same. The miracle of the new birth supplies many internal changes of heart and mind which produces a brand-new life. Before coming to Christ, a person has no idea of the great treasures that will be found. The joy, the contentment, the peace, the security, the assurance, the sense of well-being; all have been unknown entities. The individual may have previously heard these words, viewed these concepts from afar, maybe even defined their meanings, but they have never truly experienced them until coming to Christ. The fellowship with God, the constant transformation into the image of Christ, the ability to encounter and experience the best that life has to offer; all of these heighten our desire for Him. And wonder of all, an unfeigned love for the Lord Jesus Christ will dominate the believer’s total being at all times. What a treasure!

Matthew 6:21 - For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also.

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:8
But though we, or an angel from heaven, preach any other gospel unto you than that which we have preached unto you, let him be accursed.

There’s only one true Gospel, and it is the Gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ. That Gospel is the good news of what the Son of God came to do for us in humility and obedience at the cross in His death. He there, and there alone, became the door for all those who would become the Sheep of God’s pasture, for there is no other entrance into Christ. or His Kingdom. There is also no other avenue provided by God for His Grace to flow into our lives daily. Grace is what God does, and is only experienced through faith in what Christ carried out in His death for ALL at Calvary (Hebrews 2:9) “as we are NOW trusting in that work.”

When we shift our faith from the cross to ANYTHING other, even if done in ignorance and I speak from my own experience, we remove ourselves from Him (v. 6, 5:1-4). This is falling from Grace, not from salvation, but rather falling from Grace which is what God desires to do in and through the Believer. At that point we are depending on whatever else we have turned our faith to, which is really self, and calling it what God is doing. God only works in Truth (Psalm 33:4, Romans 8:2), and that Truth is the Gospel (Colossians 1:5). It is the Gospel alone that frees us from our sin, and Jesus called it the Truth (John 8:32). God’s Righteousness is only revealed in the Gospel (Romans 1:16-17), yet God says that when Truth is spoken Righteousness is shown (Proverbs 12:17). We can’t be trusting in anything other than Christ and His work at Calvary and be trusting in God at the same time (1 Corinthians 1:18).

Bread Crumbs “The Fuel of Faith” June 5

Confidence in the love of God is fuel for the believer’s faith. If doubt, unbelief, or fear are gripping your heart today, look once again upon the price God paid to bring you into His kingdom. Someone has once correctly stated that the value of something can be established by the price paid for it. God bankrupted all of Heaven just so you might have the chance to call Him Father. That does not sound to me like someon...e who would easily give up on a relationship, especially one that cost Him so dearly. He does not close the door of relationship upon you when you fail, falter, or stumble. Neither does that door swing open wider on the days that you do everything right. Access and support from your Heavenly father is available because of what Jesus did for you at Calvary and your simple faith in that. He spared no expense to save you. He certainly will spare no expense to keep you! When you are confused, hurting, dazed, bewildered, or befuddled, look long and hard at the established expression and evidence of His magnificent love manifested towards you. Let your battered faith arise once again from the ashes of doubt and unbelief! God still loves you!

Romans 8:32 - He that spared not his own Son, but delivered Him up for us all, how shall He not with Him also freely give us all things?

The Miracle of God’s Word

Galatians 1:9
As we said before, so say I now again, If any man preach any other gospel unto you than that ye have received, let him be accursed.

“AS WE SAID BEFORE.” The great importance of God speaking this two times through the Apostle Paul to you and me cannot be overlooked. The gospel is the message of the Cross of Jesus Christ, and is the only object of faith which God will recognize, honor and reward. Most of what is called Christianity today is trusting in many things, even their words which say, “I’m trusting in the Lord”, but only when the heart is trusting in the Righteous work of Christ at Calvary (Isaiah 32:17, 2 Peter 1:1, Romans 8:2, 10:10), will true faith come with the manifestation of the Truth of which it is trusting (2 Corinthians 4:2).

Those who refuse to preach the gospel of the Lord Jesus Christ for ALL the provision of Grace through which God exclusively offers man, must be TURNED AWAY from (2 Timothy 3:5), WITHDRAWN from (2 Thessalonians 3:6), and we must find ourselves COMING OUT from among (2 Corinthians 6:17) them. It is a painful road, but remember the cross of the Lord Jesus Christ as He was completely forsaken, and the Apostle Paul was also forsaken of ALL in certain places and only had a handful of believers who remained faithful to the work and the message at the end of his life (2 Timothy Chapter 4). This will be the similar story for all who cling to the cross of Christ, and that alone through this life. It is the only place which God pours out ALL which He offers man, while every other way has a more appealing look, but will all end in death, and without reward!

The Hill

With so much trouble across this land, how do we get through? As each day draws near, the day may seem to be darker and dimmer for many who have no hope. The word of God told us that in the last days perilous times would come. He said that men will be lovers of themselves, they will be proud, they will be boasters, they will be truth breakers, false accusers, blasphemers, disobedient to parents, unthankful, unholy, and much more. If we are honestly reading and look...ing at the Bible as our map of life, it is right and there is no room to argue with the scripture.

If we are honest and we take a look around, it can be so distracting and discouraging for many. It is so easy to get caught up in the worldly system, that we take our eyes off the Lord. If our eyes are focused on what’s happening around us, it will ultimately overtake us. Satan is very cunning and crafty when it comes to making things look presentable, so much that he persuaded one third of the angels to turn away from God. We should not underestimate the enemy, and neither should we fear him. Our God is greater!

The only thing that will get us through these times is that we keep our eyes fixed on the hill of Calvary. We have to be like David, we have to look to the hills from which cometh our help; all of our help comes from the Lord! As we continue to press on in the Lord, we have to do so with a made up mind to serve the Him. Without fear of man, nor compromise. The Lord is our help! He is our keeper! The Lord is our provider! The Lord is our way maker! The only survival from these difficult times is to look up! Keep your eyes on the Lord and not on this worldly system!

• Psa 121:1 I will lift up mine eyes unto the hills, from whence cometh my help.

• Psa 121:2 My help cometh from the LORD, which made heaven and earth.

• Psa 121:3 He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber.

• Psa 121:4 Behold, he that keepeth Israel shall neither slumber nor sleep.

• Psa 121:5 The LORD is thy keeper: the LORD is thy shade upon thy right hand.

• Psa 121:6 The sun shall not smite thee by day, nor the moon by night.

• Psa 121:7 The LORD shall preserve thee from all evil: he shall preserve thy soul.

• Psa 121:8 The LORD shall preserve thy going out and thy coming in from this time forth, and even for evermore
