Your posts are more inspired than usual this evening. You probably will get flack on "the oldest religion," but I know it is also, though I just think in terms of the "faith" otherwise I get into my own trouble. Good night from here my brother................

And thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, and with all thy might.
Therefore whatsoever ye would that men should do to you: even so do ye to them: for this is the Law and the Prophets. Thou shalt love the Lord thy God with all thine heart, with all thy soul, and with all thy mind. This is the first and the great commandment. And the second is like unto this, Thou shalt love thy neighbor as thyself. I Beseech you therefore brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye give up your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable serving of God.

He exhorts us to live by a worship which is acceptable to God, and to love unfeigned, even towards our enemies.

But this I confess unto thee, that after the way (which they call heresy) so worship I the God of my fathers, believing all things which are written in the Law and the Prophets. Paul went from a state conjectural religion to a state of quality, also proving his way of worshiping to be true, to be heavenly and from God, and to be the oldest of all religions.

This epistle to the Romans, which after the finishing of the chief points of Christian doctrine, consists in declaring proper precepts of Christian life. And first of all he gives general precepts and grounds: the chiefest being that every man consecrate himself wholly to the spiritual service of God, and do as it were in sacrificing himself by trusting the grace of God.

By this preface he shows that God’s glory is the utmost end of all our doings.
In times past the sacrifices were presented before the altar, but now the altar is everywhere.
In times past, other bodies other than our own bodies were sacrificed, but now our own must be offered up.
In times past, dead sacrifices were offered, but now we must offer such as have the spirit of life.

Some first-century Christians in the Roman province of Galatia insisted that God favored only those who obeyed the Law that God gave to the Israelites through Moses. The apostle Paul knew this to be false, for God gave holy spirit to some who had never observed Jewish law. (Acts 15:12) So Paul corrected the wrong idea by means of an illustration. In a letter to the Galatian Christians, he wrote: “The Law has become our tutor leading to Christ.” (Galatians 3:24)

"Because the law worketh wrath: for where no law is, there is no transgression." Romans 4:15

I have heard many on CC teach that this scripture says the law is opposed to love because wrath is love's opposition.
Then in order to cause transgressions to stop, the law was abolished and crucified with Christ.
Without the law we are righteous in the sight of God through faith in Christ, because God's grace is also opposed to the law.
God's grace, and God's law are arch enemies one with another.

"Wherefore then serveth the law? It was added because of transgressions, till the seed should come to whom the promise was made; and it was ordained by angels in the hand of a mediator." Galatians 3:19

This verse is referring to the way things were in Old Testament times before Christ was crucified. Now Jesus is the mediator of a better and New Covenant that gives believers peace with God because both the law and transgressions have been done away with by Christ Himself.

"Whosoever committeth sin transgresseth also the law: for sin is the transgression of the law." 1 John 3:4

Then being justified by faith, we are not held guilty for our transgressions which means the law has been crucified with Christ. If we are foolish enough to observe the law, we heap transgressions upon ourselves and we are automatically under its condemnation the same way we were before we were born again. Who would ever want to do that and lose their salvation that the law will surely destroy and re-establish the enmity?

"Having abolished in his flesh the enmity, even the law of commandments contained in ordinances; for to make in himself of twain one new man, so making peace; And that he might reconcile both unto God in one body by the cross, having slain the enmity thereby:" Ephesians 2:15-16

This verse proves all of the above, and we are comfortable with these things because peace with God is comfortable. Don't you agree? The way this verse reads is that the ordinances are the commandments and laws, and not the Old Testament temple ordinances that contain laws and commandments.

So we see that Jesus abolished the law in His flesh when He said "It is finished" like "it is finally gone now" i.e. "fulfilled".

Now there is a new law because this division and enmity that the old law created has been crucified once and for all. At least this is what some believe and teach. Observing the law is the biggest threat to a person's salvation. This is what I have been taught in CC. What do you believe?

I flunked the course cause I don't believe it this way. Jesus came to change us, not His words.
There is differences between JESUS 'killed' the 'Law', and JESUS 'fulfilled' the 'Law of Moses'. Have you short 'read' that, 'not even a 'dot' or 'comma' shall be removed from the 'Law'?

GOD bless you all in the name of LORD JESUS CHRIST.

thats the words of Jesus Himself that will not go away and makes it very hard for me to see how the law can so easily be "done away with". the laws of the Almighty thrown out like garbage.

Mortis is Eliwood is Gespent.
And Eliwood is a banned heretic denying the deity of Christ.

He is a "Torah observer" who keeps coming back under phony IDs and pressing 119ministries.com and Restored Church of God materials and teachings. I loosely use the phrase "Torah Observer" because he obviously doesn't mind lying.

Eliwood has set up yet another user ID Mortis to evade bans, using false information.

I highly suggest that you don't view his cultic videos from 119Ministries.

I sent an email to him about this and confronted his deceitful behavior in this regard.

Here was his reply:

Would you say lies could be used for good sometimes, when they're used against God's enemies?
"It works" does not show that disobedience of God's word is good.

Moses striking the rock twice "worked," but it was disobedience and God did not allow him to enter the Promised Land because of it.

For truly I tell you, until heaven and earth disappear, not the smallest letter, not the least stroke of a pen, will by any means disappear from the Law until everything is accomplished. herefore anyone who sets aside one of the least of these commands and teaches others accordingly will be called least in the kingdom of heaven, but whoever practices and teaches these commands will be called great in the kingdom of heaven.----Mathew 5:19

Many will say to me in that day, Lord, Lord, have we not prophesied in thy name? and in thy name have cast out devils? and in thy name done many wonderful works? And then will I declare to them, ‘I never knew you; depart from me, you workers of lawlessness.’---Mathew 7:23

Do we, then, nullify the law by this faith? Not at all! Rather, we uphold the law.-----Romans 3:31

The mind governed by the flesh is hostile to God; it does not submit to God's law, nor can it do so.----Romans 8:7

Many peoples will come and say, "Come, let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the temple of the God of Jacob. He will teach us his ways, so that we may walk in his paths." The law will go out from Zion, the word of the LORD from Jerusalem. ------Isaiah2:3

All your words are true; all your righteous laws are eternal.-----Psalm 119:160
In the new covenant (Lk 22:20), the two laws of Christ (Mt 22:33-37) are God's law (Mt 22:40; 1Co 9:21; Ro 13:8, 9, 10) for holy living.

Think not that I am come to destroy the Law, or the Prophets. I am not come to destroy them, but to fulfill them. Christ came not to bring any new way of righteousness and salvation into the world, but to fulfill that in deed which was shadowed by the figures of the Law, by delivering men through grace from the curse of the Law: and moreover to teach the true use of obedience which the Law appointed, and to engrave in our hearts the force of obedience. This was foreordained so that the prophecies would be accomplished.

For truly I say unto you, Till heaven and earth perish, one jot or one tittle of the Law shall not escape, till all things be fulfilled. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall observe and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. Jesus begins with the true expounding of the Law, and sets it against the old (but yet false) glosses of the Scribes. Jesus is very far from abolishing even the least commandment of his Father. Far warning, those who teach against the commandments shall have no place in the Church.

Did not Moses give you a Law, and yet none of you keepeth the Law? Why go ye about to kill me?

Ye shall not steal, neither deal falsely, neither lie one to another. This is committed to your credit if you do not do these things. Also ye shall not swear by my Name falsely, neither shalt thou defile the Name of thy God: I am the Lord. Thou shalt not do thy neighbor wrong, neither rob him. The workman’s hire shall not abide with thee until the morning, neither oppress him by violence.

Thou shalt not curse the deaf, neither put a stumbling block before the blind, but shalt fear thy God: I am the Lord. Ye shall not do unjustly in judgment: Thou shalt not favor the person of the poor, nor honor the person of the mighty, but thou shalt judge thy neighbor justly. Thou shalt not walk about with tales among thy people as a slanderer, backbiter, or quarrel picker. Thou shalt not stand against the blood of thy neighbor, by consenting to his death, or conspiring with the wicked. I am the Lord.

Thou shalt not hate thy brother in thine heart, but thou shalt plainly rebuke thy neighbor, and suffer him not to sin. Thou shalt not avenge, nor be mindful of wrong against the children of thy people, but shalt love thy neighbor as thyself: I am the Lord.

All godly people are exhorted to study and meditate on heavenly wisdom, that they be blessed which give themselves wholly all their life to the holy Scriptures, and that the wicked condemners of God, though they seem for a while to be happy, at length, shall come to a miserable destruction. Blessed is the man that doth not walk in the counsel of the wicked, nor stand in the way of sinners, nor sit in the seat of the scornful. But his delight is in the law of the Lord, and in his law doth he meditate day and night.

Our praises, accordingly, were chiefly instituted to praise and give thanks to God for His benefits. When a man hath given once place to evil counsel, or to his own concupiscence, he begins to forget himself in his sin, and then falls into contempt of God, which contempt is called the seat of the scorners.

Actually, Christ said the the entire law hangs on those 2 commandments. Not that those 2commandments replaced the law.

35 One of them, an expert in the law, tested him with this question: 36 “Teacher, which is the greatest commandment in the Law?”
37 Jesus replied: “‘Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your mind.’[a] 38 This is the first and greatest commandment.39 And the second is like it: ‘Love your neighbor as yourself.’[b] 40 All the Law and the Prophets hang on these two commandments.”

You should be be careful about adding to scripture like that. There's a very serious warning in the book of Revelation that says anyone who adds or takes away from this book will inherit the plagues that written in this book.

We're talking about ceremonial and ritualistic laws, not moral absolutes. The Sabbath, festivals, clean and unclean meats, and triple tithing are not moral absolutes. The moral law of God stands.

No one called them "garbage" anyways. They served a purpose. Galatians 3 says that they were in place until Christ came, until the times of reformation(Galatians 3:16, 19, 23-25, Hebrews 9:1-10).

Colossians 2:16-17 called the Sabbath and festivals "shadows" in Colossians 2:16-17. The language is the same as the language referring to the animal sacrifices in Hebrews 10:1-2. All are mere shadows of the reality, which is in Jesus Christ.

I didn't hear him mention it in the forums, but he did mention it in the chatroom once. Apparently he holds a position called Arianism. I am not sure if he was fully committed to that belief yet.

This is what happens when one listens to cults and their teachings. It doesn't just end at Sabbathkeeping; there's all kind of perverted doctrines that they teach people, including claiming that others aren't Christian due to their non-Sabbathkeeping. The cult I belonged to taught that mankind would become a God being in the resurrection.

I hope he changes his mind on both that and the Torah observances. I am confident he is sincere, but he is sincerely wrong, as Paul was when he murdered Christians.

And Eliwood is a banned heretic denying the deity of Christ.

This is Eliwood on yet another handle. He's been banned 3 times so far.

Funny how he claims to be a lawkeeper but freely lies in order to evade bans.

Can someone please explain romans 3:31 for me? Some guy quoted it on another thread. It says: "Do we make void the law by this fiath? By no means! Rather we uphold the law"

Why did paul say that if the law was nailed to the cross?

Friend, let us all not get 'off track record' here what is Grace and Truth sound doctrine Spiritual knowledge of the Kingdom of GOD given for 'born again believers' to come to 'knowledge faith' first and then therefore 'action faith' from the same 'AGAPE knowledge' for one another and the perishing world.

For Christians who do not 'go ahead' of CHRIST's word/teaching know wholeheartedly and in faith JESUS 'fulfilled' the 'Law and the Prophets' during HIS lifetime here on earth, with no sin against them, but lived and acted and spoke, all according to the 'requirements' of GOD HIS FATHER.

That 'fulfilled requirements' were not acted by JESUS according to the given 'Law of Letter' to sinners and to the 'Letter'. But GOD's 'true requirements in fulfillment to all of them', Only LORD JESUS CHRIST in 'rooted' spiritual knowledge faith and action based on that knowledge, written according to the given New Covenant/Testament of repentance and 'AGAPE' is the 'fulfillment', together with us in 'practice' and 'abiding' according to them in faith and bear much fruit even today.

According to the born again New Covenant/Testament faith, we 'practice' and 'abide' and 'bear much fruit', to us in faith, the 'Law and the Prophets' have been 'fulfilled' by our New MASTER JESUS, who have redeemed us from them, which we were weak and slaves to and in 'bondage', therefore were ruled by different slave masters then, that are 'sin and death'.

Since we have been 'set free' by JESUS and now 'set' in the 'path' of 'exceeding righteousness' than the 'Pharisees', who lived 'to the Letter', the given and written New Covenant/Testament, in 'practices' and 'abiding' and 'bear much fruit', to us the 'Old Law' have been 'done away with' by CHRIST.

But not at all the given and documented records of the 'Law and the Prophets', written in the HOLY BIBLE! For they are also 'Spiritual', 'Holy' and 'Righteousness' of GOD and acts as our historical 'reminder' and 'reference' and knowledge provider to be 'wiser' like our 'forefathers of faith' and like CHRIST.

When CHRIST called us all and set us free, we who have been 'born again', not only of water but also the HOLY SPIRIT, HE therefore also taught us to take and 'bear the light yoke' upon us, the given and written New Covenant/Testament, in order to 'plow' the 'ground', to 'practice' and 'abide' and 'bear much fruit', we 'do not look back'.

In order to be 'distracted' and decide to back once again to the 'yoke of slavery'.

The Israelite who were set free from the slavery of Egypt and been therefore set in the path of GOD then, henceforth 'looked back to Egypt and according to them' and made GOD angry.

The Christians today 'look back to the law and the prophets and according to them' and make GOD even more angry for further 'repetition' of 'ignorance', those who have been made 'spiritual'.

GOD bless in the name of LORD JESUS CHRIST.
