The Scriptures say Whosoever...... I want to see everyone in Heaven. So, why not tell someone about something cool you know about?
It is hard enough getting self proclaimed Christians to welcome the Spirit... surprisingly the greatest barrier is thinking they have it

Even a teacher learns, esp by mistakes.
Absolutely! Mistakes and pain are the greatest teachers there are, and I've made many. And this is why I try not to come off like a "know-it-all," because in my past, and feeling like I "knew-it-all" . . . I had to eat humble pie far too many times to tolerate it any longer. There's nothing wrong with taking a step backward when we prove to be an utter fool. :)

Try one of the above recipes.

HUMBLE PIE

1 Cup of Compassion

2 Cups of Sugar

3 Cups of Patience

5 Cups of Humility

7 Cups of Self Restraint

2 Tbs of Understanding

1 Healthy sprinkling of Love

Step 1: Check Yourself...

Step 2: Pour out All Self Pride into a large collander and sift until only humility is left.

Step 3: In a very large mixing bowl, quickly but gently fold in all remaining virtues.

Step 4: Zip your lip and pour mixture into a soft pie shell.

Step 5: Let pie heat up but do not let it bubble over!

Step 6: Quickly place pie in freezer for fast cool down.

Step 7: Always serve with a smile!!

I suggest memorizing this recipe so you can make it at a moments notice. You just never know when you might need to serve up some good, old fashioned Humble Pie!

If you missed my Humble Pie saga and like a good story, check out these post...

Peace.

Simply ask them to explain II Peter 1 to me and pray while they are doing it.

So this is what I'm gonna do:

Throw out both my TVs, video game console, computer equipment, books, movies, pictures, phone, etc.

Oh I almost forgot; there's beer and wine in my fridge. Gotta throw all that out too.

\s

Jesus made wine and drank it. keep the other stuff too. It is how and why one does things that matter.

Except that the distribution of wine, which thousands "drank," this represents the Day of Pentecost and all of time afterward.

1 Corinthians 11:25 HNV - "In the same way he also took the cup, after supper, saying, "This cup is the new covenant in my blood. Do this, as often as you drink, in memory of me."

Jesus told us to preach the gospel, not debate about Christian apologetics for hours=time that could have been spent spreading gospel.
What are your thoughts?
A simplistic view. Once we are born again, we are like spiritual infants. The word of God is spiritual food. Some Christians suffer spiritual malnutrition.

The problem is more the subject matter of the channel debates. Endless discussions about the Law, debates about which bible version is the best, nitpicking translations and spreading baseless conspiracy theories are not helpful or edifying. If Christians stopped engaging in behaviour modification techniques and let Lord Jesus live in and through them, witnessing would be easier. The best testimony is a changed life. Why try to be what God has already made us to be.

The Christian life is new life, not a vain attempt to force the old life to conform to God's law. We need a righteousness that exceeds anything that humans can produce. The good news is that we are already righteous in Christ. Our lives should be lived in that light. God will reveal to us what He wants to deal with. There is no law that says that I cannot play table tennis. Yet the Lord told me to quit because it was taking up too much of my life. Those who are led by the Spirit of God are the sons of God, not those who religiously obey the law.

So we need to know God's word so that we are equipped to serve. Taking time to do that is entirely correct and pleasing to God. Those who witness in ignorance are like soldiers who go to fight without a weapon or protective clothing. What they say may be true, but they are dealing with Satan's kingdom, not only people. Preach the gospel, yes. But don't neglect what we need for our own edification.

How does one get drunk on communion wine if there is no alcohol? I am not sure I understand what you wrote.
I was pointing to the wedding where Jesus made wine and to his culture where drinking wine with meals was normal.

Clearly, I made a mistake, then. Thanks for setting me straight.

Correct, the most theological themes here are not to solve in discussions.
On the other hand spreading the gospel is not the gift of everybody.
And where it is said, that you cant do both?

God's elects will find what they seek, by praying to God. When God's elects receive the Holy Spirit, they will have faith and more.

If "God's elects will find what they seek, by praying to God," then why is it necessary to preach the gospel instead of debating about Christian apologetics?

Amen. When a True Christian receives the Holy Spirit, it means that Jesus is most active in that person's life, for it is Christ who sends the Eternal Spirit as a deposit guaranteeing what is to come! Bring it . . . Lord! :)

So let's see what say the scriptures. 1 Peter 3:15, " but sanctify Christ as Lord in your hearts, ALWAYS being ready to make a defense to EVERYONE who asks you to give an account for the hope that is in you, yet with gentleness and reverence." And here's an oldie but a goody, Jude 3, "Beloved, while I was making every effort write you about are common salvation, I felt the NECESSITY to write to you APPEALING that you CONTEND earnestly for the faith which was once for all delivered to the saints."

So why is Jude telling us this? Vs4, "For (or because) certain persons have crept in unnoticed, those who were long beforehand marked out for this condemnation, ungodly persons who turn the grace of our God into licentiousness and deny our only Master and Lord, Jesus Christ."

I also recommend you read Acts 20:28-31 for added measure. As Christians, debate is "inevitable," so learn to deal with it and consider it an honor.
