If it weren't for the word "church" in Acts 7:38 how would we know that the the church of Jesus Christ existed in the assembly of Israel in the wilderness?

This should not be rendered "church" unless the context is clear.

If you want your comparison to be valid, you must compare to a source outside of both the KJV and the newer versions. In other words, you must go to the available Greek manuscripts. Printed editions, including the Textus Receptus, don't count.

I'm not sure what you mean by the "congregated remnant of believers"? Is this a subset of the assembly in the wilderness?

The KJV was taken from the proper text, and is a most excellent translation, except for 2 books, of the which are post 200AD apocrypha writings to my knowledge and should be omitted. The translators themselves said it was not a better translation, nor a perfect translation, (that was from the horse’s mouth)..

NIV, NASB, NLT, ISV, Berean Study Bible versions ((and others)) all use the name Jesus in this verse, even though the apostle Matthew himself did not.

I'm not trying to impute meaning lol I'm just believing the words exactly as written in the KJV. Christ was not in the assembly in the wilderness and we know this for a fact because most of that congregation died in the wilderness because of UNBELIEF. Only two in that congregation were allowed by God to enter into the promised land.

If the congregation was the entire group of people, what should the 2 originals that God allowed to enter the promised land be called? By the way, this is one heck of a shadow story about our second birth that I hope we will eventualy get to.

i am not going to check - but isn't it a safe bet that in almost 70 pages no one has been led to Christ by arguing over the deity of the KJV?

If it weren't for the word "church" in Acts 7:38 how would we know that the the church of Jesus Christ existed in the assembly of Israel in the wilderness?

Most of the original congregation died in the wilderness because of UNBELIEF. What do you call the members of the congregation, the true believers, that the spirit of Christ dwelt in? According to the book of Acts in the KJV they were called the church... what do you call them?

I will agree from my studies that when it comes to (numerical issues); not historical chronologically per say, but literal numerical considerations - the KJV is one I see as accurate, more so than some. But this is not a campaign in me to say others are not worthy of their notice at all. There are advantages to cross-referencing not only Scripture itself, but other translations and even paraphrases if they are within the context of the Deity of Christ etc..which can simply give ground for the Spirit to make mention in areas of life.

To me this is the mature view of things and doesn't clog my spiritual arteries in any legalism standards man would apply to me is all. You have been gracious in saying we all must make our own choices, and I applaud that gentleness and respect for others, and I would agree, that we all will work out our own salvation, as Scripture mentions, with the Spirit of God guiding and therefore our minds discerning and thinking wisely about it.
