Wrongo. Look again. Coveting what isn't yours is sin. It's okay if she's your wife. Not okay if she's the neighbor's wife. It's okay if it's your goods. Not okay if it's the neighbor's goods. It's okay if it's your animal (oxen, but who has oxen anymore, so let's make it pets or a mode of transportation.) Not okay to covet your neighbor's animals. God didn't get his laws wrong. He was very precise for a reason.
It is a sin to cover another person's belongings whether objects property even their spouse who was talking about ones own wife sounds like you are bored

Now there are healthy desires and there are sinfull desires , the ones that are permissible are the ones within the covenant. Now desire towards a husband and wife is permissible as they are within covenant as Genesis so states that , the covenant of creation is a wonderful teaching because they teach the ordinances of God they teach His supremacy His divinity His laws and statutes , the scripture speaks of Abraham obeying the laws and statutes of. God these teachings were taught from Adam and passed down to Abraham through Noah . the covenant of creation teaches all ordinances and laws of God's good will and the conduct in wich He mandates of us on earth.

Most think of the flesh when using the word Lust. God does not *think* anything is sin. No one knows the mind of God.
Anything taken out of perspective is an error. The word sin is used as a tool to justify one against another. This is called division. Jesus did not come to divide but to unite. It is time for all people, not just Christians, to awaken to compassion and mercy for his brothers and sisters
I think anyone who reads the Bible gets some concept of God's mind. Looks like you have because you seem to be of his mind too. :D (That's a compliment, just in case it didn't sound like it. lol)

Jesus said, "Do not suppose that I have come to bring peace to the earth. I did not come to bring peace, but a sword."
Yeah, but not to stab your own kind with. Just sayin'. I've been stabbed a lot on here. Mostly for stuff I never said. lol

Sounds like you are the Great Judge of all others -- whether judging motives are words -- and yet, you don't bother to investigate anything before judging. If you tried to be more arrogant, could you get there?

If you don't covet a 1995 Saturn 4 door sedan, why buy one? If you don't covet the lovely lady you married, why marry her? If you don't covet the beauty and grace of a basset hound, why get one for a pet? Seriously, dude. Coveting is fine just as long as you're not trying to get something that's not yours to get! Me coveting Sean Connery is sin. He's not mine to covet. (I don't want him, but love his voice. lol)

Seriously? After all your blarney, you agree with me?

The whole point of everything I wrote was for people to get off their preconceived notions of a word used in the Bible to notice -- it's okay to heavily desire something! The word "lust" and the word "desire" in the NT is the SAME word in the original language. That's what I've been saying all along.

I have a lust for life. I am not sinning because of that! God has a lust for his people. He's not sinning either. It's okay to be hot and bothered by something -- anything -- as long as it is done to love, not to possess selfishly. That's really the only difference between bad lust and good lust.

Allow me to point out the error I perceive you are making. There is no such thing as a bad word. The intention is what is bad. Look at the words in the bible:
pisseth, bastard, whore, ass, damn.....all in the word of God.
Not curse words, of course. At least not in the context used. However, you don't use those words do you?
Why not? Because they are always taken as cuss words and meant to insult.
Which is the whole point. The word lust in the new testament in never meant to mean something good - it is always meant as something sinful.
Yet you want to ascribe this description to our savior? Do you not see a problem with that?

Phil112, Good job at communicating your point(s) while being gentle at the same time. I see improvement. I am impressed. Thank you.

Sincerely,
WW

In like kind, let me point out your error in what you saw as my error. I never said anything remotely about "There is no such thing as a bad word. The intention is what is bad."

And let me point out your other like-kind error. Grover is the best muppet. Not Superman. (I figure if you could miss my intention that far, I'd try to equal it. Not that you listen, but because it's fun. lol)

I always liked Grover as well :) Of course, I had to watch Sesame Street as an adult, cuz it had not yet been invented when I was a child ;)
