My dear friend this is after sin mind you i am talking about before hmmmmm i wonder where we shall get our clothes from hmm probaly stand before God naked perhaps in the kingdom
As was the scripture you posted regarding the marriage of the Lamb. If there was no sin, there would be no need for a Lamb.

Is it ok for christian women to wear makeup ? What does the bible say ?
I think one should examine their motive and whether it will cause other people to stumble. Applying cosmetics to draw undue attention to yourself or seduce others is wrong. Furthermore, God looks at the heart thus real beauty comes from within (a godly and modest demeanour) and that is the message Peter was conveying in 1st Peter 3:3-4, so this is the area we should nurture the most. Consider is Proverbs 31:30 too.

I think it is not an assult to God for just a tiny bit of makeup. I personally don't believe in all that foundation, but a little touch up on the eyes are no big deal because just emphasizing what we were given. "All things in moderation"

I agree that moderation is key. To much make up on anyone doesn't look nice.

Wearing makeup is like telling God we are not satisfied with how he made us look.
It is also very deceptive because no one is really seeing the real you.
IF you think the physical is the "real you" then you are totally wrong.
I believe God gave us a natural beauty and he is displeased when this is not enough for us.
What scripture says this? Or are these your words? The bible doesn't condemn makeup so why are you speaking for God here?
plus why would any professing Christian woman want to look anything like a jezebel.
Wearing makeup doesn't make a women look like Jezebel. The bride in Song of Solomon wore makeup, and perfumes. She wasn't like Jezebel.
I believe when God looks at us he wants to see what he created without any attempts at beautifying ourselves with makeup which can actually be intended to entice and seduce.
Man judges the physical. God judges the heart.
Also, not all women wear makeup to "seduce" and "entice". That is a rather ignorant, and unrighteously judgemental generalization. I wear makeup. So apparently I am like Jezebel, and I wear it to seduce others....really?
Nevermind the fact I have a skin condition, and cosmetics even out my skin tone. Lets not even mention my skin is very sensitive to the suns rays and cosmetics help protect the skin from things like CANCER.

If a woman dresses herself to seduce others then yes, that is wrong. But that doesn't mean every woman that wears makeup uses it for that intent.

I don't like legalism, and judging someone's righteousness and comparing them to an ungodly women like JEzebel based on their appearance is something I don't want to answer to when judgement day comes

elizabeth619 have you read any of the new testaments instructions on Godly appearance?
I Timothy 2:9 admonishes “that women adorn themselves in modest apparel with shamedfacedness and sobriety, not with broided hair, gold, or pearls, or costly array." I Peter 3:3 gives similar instructions.
Also please do not falsely accuse me of saying that ALL women wear makeup to seduce and entice.
I am totally against makeup and I believe all new testament instructions on how women should adorn themselves show that God is totally against makeup too.
You also use your skin condition as a reason for you wearing makeup.
I am sorry you have a skin condition and I think that seeing your doctor or a skin specialist who could provide you with a medicated cream would be a better solution.
You are correct in saying that the physical is not the real you but God is clearly concerned about our outside appearance as well as the inside condition of the heart.
Whats on the outside reflects what is on the inside.
im not sure if this is what you were implying but God does not ONLY judge the heart.
This is a lie from satan to send souls to hellfire and torment.
romans 12:1-12 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
Also in the old testament makeup is for the MOSTPART associated with something negative and sinful.
Makeup can also become an idol to people who think they cannot live without it.

This is based purely on your own interpretation and not even the passage you gave mentioned makeup. Everyone should dress modestly.
as far as my skin condition I go to a dermatologist Which is really none of your concern. If you don't like makeup that's fine but don't condemn everyone else bc of your own opinion.

elizabeth619 if you did not want your skin condition public then you should not have mentioned it.
Its not like I insulted you or said anything bad about you having a skin condition.
what does shamefacedness mean to you?
esther was in the OLD TESTAMENT.
also if you do not see anything wrong with wearing makeup then we can agree to disagree.

EPHESIANS 5

24
Therefore as the church is subject unto Christ, so let the wives be to their own husbands in every thing.

25 Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it;
26 That he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word,
27 That he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish.
28 So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself.
29 For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church:
30 For we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.

[h=3]Psalm 45[/h]King James Version (KJV)

45 My heart is inditing a good matter: I speak of the things which I have made touching the king: my tongue is the pen of a ready writer.
2 Thou art fairer than the children of men: grace is poured into thy lips: therefore God hath blessed thee for ever.
3 Gird thy sword upon thy thigh, O most mighty, with thy glory and thy majesty.
4 And in thy majesty ride prosperously because of truth and meekness and righteousness; and thy right hand shall teach thee terrible things.
5 Thine arrows are sharp in the heart of the king's enemies; whereby the people fall under thee.
6 Thy throne, O God, is for ever and ever: the sceptre of thy kingdom is a right sceptre.
7 Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows.
8 All thy garments smell of myrrh, and aloes, and cassia, out of the ivory palaces, whereby they have made thee glad.

I don't mind sharing personal things but how I treat my condition is between me and my doctor. I didn't mention to get advice from a stranger. Btw, the condition is permanent. The only thing I can do is cover it. Which I'm do e talking about it. Shamedfaceness is referring to bashfulness. As in looking down.

Youre right. Esther was in the OT. What's your point?

well I apologise for commenting on a personal issue of yours.sorry.
My point with esther is that in the new testament she would have been subject to new testament instructions on adornment.ill also admit that I am very old fashioned and I would rather take holiness to the extreme with a right heart than be found wanting.
An example of this Is the scripture which instructs women never to pray or prophesy with their head uncovered.
some women understand that the covering mentioned here refers to their hair while others believe this is referring to a covering like a scarf over the head which I don't see nothing wrong with.
I don't want anyone to miss heaven and im beginning to realize that holiness is both on the inside as well as outward appearance.
I would classify the wearing of makeup as a worldly practice.
Before you get mad at me again the following is not directed at YOU.
I think the primary purpose of many fashion designs is to exalt the ego, attract undue attention to the flesh, stir desires, and ignite passion in others, thereby appealing to the lust of flesh, the lust of eyes, and the pride of life, which the Bible condemns (I John2:16). If we are honor to the holiness of God, we must not dress in such styles and with such motives.
If a man looks with lust upon a woman he commits adultery in his heart (Matthew 5:28). If a woman provokes a lustful look by her appearance is she not partly responsible for the man’s sin? If people would dress in ways that do not provoke lust,i think the moral fiber of our society would be strengthened.
Trust me it would be easier for me to say I do not have nothing against the wearing of makeup but with what I have studied in the bible and discovered from the testimony of other women I am convinced it is an ungodly practice and not becoming of Christian women to do.
There are women having experiences with Jesus telling them he is not pleased with them wearing makeup, jeans, jewelry etc and that they will not be accepted if they continue wearing these things.
He gives them a message of holiness to give to women all across the world and to be honest I doubt that any Christian woman in America would listen to them.
The testimonies all include scripture that Jesus gave them to give to women all over supporting the instructions he gives them.
Claire andoun atongo has several testimonies on what the Lord showed her about such issues on youtube.

if you think make up is going to keep someone out of heaven, then you have misunderstood grace. Salvation is God's gift, not something we earn. Works and ceremonies to appease the deity is paganism. Christianity is a relationship with our Savior.

[h=3]Romans 12[/h]King James Version (KJV)

1 I beseech you therefore, brethren, by the mercies of God, that ye present your bodies a living sacrifice, holy, acceptable unto God, which is your reasonable service.
