nautilus it seems like you really hate us.
You make fun of us,mock us and insult us but I believe the real problem is that you don't want nothing to do with picking up your cross, denying yourself and following Christ.
I think you would like to be comfortable and do whatever you want while still claiming to be a follower of Christ even when Jesus has said we are to separate ourselves from the world and things of the world.
Jesus also said if we claim to know him and do not keep his commands we are liars and the truth is not in us.
1 john 2:3-6:3And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments. 4He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. 5But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him. 6He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
Beleiving in Christ is not enough because even the devils believe and tremble.
We cannot afford to be so flippant when it comes to following Christ because according to Jesus only few will make it to heaven and most are on the broad road that leads to destruction.
I don't think a professing Christian should see anything wrong with discussing the word of God and his commandments.
2 Corinth 6:17-18:17Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you,
18And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
Jesus said if we love him we will obey him.
Also out of the abundance of the heart the mouth speaks.
Please examine yourself and see wether you are a true follower of Christ or if you are just a Christian by title.
Yes and it clearly follows the example of a loving God who sent his son to die for us, to at the same time judge people for haircuts? Seriously? Im assuming you just type without thinking about the nonsense that spews forth.

Besides no one ever showed what a biblical haircut would be? Like how do we know if we told our stylist the right thing? Should I have used a 2 guard instead of the 1 guard? Is my hair too short for salvation now? Oh the fear in me...

Why do some churches disallow wearing make up if it is not a big issue ?
This is a weak argument. Some churches require ankle length skirts, nothing shorter, no pants and no shorts. Some churches prove their faith by handling rattlesnakes. Since when is an individual churches rules a solid measure of things being right and wrong?

I just wonder how many of these anti-makeup people dress up for church? Or dress up at all. Anything more than thrift store t-shirts and jeans could be considered on the same level as wearing makeup. If you Ever feel the need to look nicer then how is that any different than a woman wearing makeup? It's not.

Elizabeth we cant see what goes on in peoples hearts which is where a lot of sin comes out of.
Men could be having sexual thoughts about you in their mind and heart while holding a conversation with you and you would never know.
If a man is having sexual thoughts about a woman in his mind and heart, who's issue is that? Mind you, Adam and Eve were walking through the garden naked, until they felt ashamed. And what was it they were ashamed of? Lets see, The Lord seen them naked before the fall and they seen each other naked before the fall. So what could they have been so ashamed of? In mentioning this, there are many thoughts that go through a persons mind. And Out of the Abundance of the Heart the Mouth Speaks. So a person could try and hide their shame all they want. Their thoughts of a beautiful woman or whatever their shameful thoughts might be. So we cant place the blame on others. Adam tried it and so did Eve. But you are responsible for your own thoughts.

The UPC will tell you not to wear makeup. They are legalistic and have bad theology. It is your heart not your war paint.

sorry if i came off as rude or trying to pick a fight. this 'opinion' that christian women should not wear makeup kind of bothers me. it very much reminds me of the pharisees back in the day who were requiring people to do this outward show of godliness. jesus came and showed everyone that he isn't interested in what we look like on the outside, he is more concerned with the condition of our hearts. i think this mindset of telling others what is permissible and what isn't is a huge problem in the christian circle. you are basically telling people they are not good enough

why is my freedom being determined by someone elses conscience?

angelcakes I really appreciate the apology.
I was not trying to offend anyone or cause strife either.
I thought it would be ok to share my opinion based on scripture about makeup because this is the title of the thread.
I love everybody here in Jesus and I want the greatest good for everyone.
I don't mind being insulted or mocked.
And trust me if I believed Jesus did not care about makeup I would not take the stand that I have.
Do you have an email I can use to send you some testimonies that women are having regarding Gods standard of holiness.
Then you can see more clearly why I don't mind being insulted or mocked for taking this stand.
The good thing about these testimonies is that they use scripture that Jesus ave them to support what they say.
God richly bless you.

Is it ok for christian women to wear makeup ? What does the bible say ?
Sir Lucan here, just by chance thou seest not my name.

Make up? Christian. Why indeed it is allowed. But have first and maintain always the adorning of the heart. Put on the mind of Christ. Then thou shalt need little make up on the outside, for a modest godly woman is far above all else.
What say you?

If a girl or guy wants to wear makeup, fine, then do so, if they don't wish to then don't...absolutely NO PROBLEM!

And those who don't wear make up should NOT judge those who do and likewise those who do, should NOT slight those who don't!

There is absoluely NO problem, it is those who don't possess commonsense who make an issue out of something trivial and need to grow up spiritually as there are far more important issues that they need to address in their OWN lives!

Yahweh Shalom...

I just discovered that Job's youngest daughter's name (Job 42:14) means: "Keren" meaning "horn" and "happuch" meaning "eye-shadow" or "face paint." He essentially named her "Jar of Eye Shadow" because that was a GOOD thing. :D

I personally love to see a lady WITHOUT make up, and I do not like it on anyone.
This is from what I have known and learnt.
Emphasis on I
I love to see the natural beauty of a lady, That brings joy to my heart, and thinking about it makes me see that there is no need for make up, ie one can live without it, and if we can live without it, why should ladies do it?

Every woman is fearfully is wonderfully made, when ladies see themselves how the FATHER sees them, they would see no need of beautifying themselves for men acceptance, ie That would be seeking the wrong attention.
but if we adorn our inner beauty, Gods favor will be on the ladies, and men will be drawn towards them even if they did not apply make up.
The Glory of God is very much IRRESISTIBLE, i know this because i feel drawn to women who have awesome relationships with the LORD, and i just feel repelled from those who put on make up.

I believe i also have the Holy Ghost.

1 Samuel 16

6And it came to pass, when they were come, that he looked on Eliab, and said, Surely the LORD'S anointed is before him. 7But the LORD said unto Samuel, Look not on his countenance, or on the height of his stature; because I have refused him: for the LORD seeth not as man seeth; for man looketh on the outward appearance, but the LORD looketh on the heart.
Beautiful Truth.
