But when the maidens came to the proper age they were given in marriage and followed the path of their mothers; and they were pleasing to God. However, Mary has found a new order of life, for she has vowed to remain a virgin to God.
This is what I learned in Catholic school as well, except I never heard Joseph was her uncle. But it focuses my problem. The story itself, as you quote it, states that Mary was the first to have chosen this path. Why would a child be allowed to make such a choice, when it was completely outside the tradition of Israel? If they knew she was to be the mother of Messiah, fine, but they did not, or one of them would have told Herod (it was barely three years from this incident when the wisemen asked about the situation). I do not trust the story, because it represents the wisest men listening to a young girl, perhaps 6 or 10 years old, and asking that she be allowed to remain childless, and hence, a reproach in Israel. The story you have quoted seems to begin after they had made the decision to respect the kid's wishes (and that's all she was to them at this time). Can you answer why they allowed such age old traditions to be violated?

New Testament staring with conception of the Messiah. This event was an Old Testament, but as u can see,in the Sacred Tradition u will get an Old Testament prophecy verses how do they chouse Joseph.
I would like to hear what one Protestant can say about this topic.

"More Spacious than the Heavens"
It is with great joy that we present to you our first icon acquisition for the beautification of our Church Temple. This icon is often know by its Greek name of “Platytera Ton Ouranon”; Translated from the Greek: "[She who is] "More Spacious than the Heavens", or simply, Πλατυτέρα. It is the icon found in most Orthodox churches in a very prominent position - high in the front apse over the Altar table just above the mercy seat of old, and is often of such scale that it overwhelms and overshadows all other icons in the Church.

Rock 22 can i ask what your views are on this

The Catholic teaching on this subject is expressed in the papal encyclical Ad Caeli Reginam, [1] issued by Pope Pius XII. It states that Mary is called Queen of Heaven because her son, Jesus Christ, is the king of Israel and heavenly king of the universe

This u could see in one of my posts about this thread.I dont know what Pope Pius could add on this?

I think geo thats its probably been talked about as if to show mary being more favored because she is bigger than Jesus in the picture.
In a cathlolic churches i have visited geo there has been statues of mary on a cross and then them symbols on Windows above the altor.
It can be quite a shock for you if when you visit a catholic church all you see is mary on a cross and them symbols on the window and you dont see any symbols of Jesus on his own Or statues of Jesus on the cross.

I know what your saying geo its just mary with Jesus.
But geo the churches are devided só this stuff is out there and quite easily its easy to get the wrong idea

In the Roman Catholic church Mary is known for many names.

Holy Queen
Mother of Mercy
O clement
O loving
O sweet Virgin Mary

The Roman Catholic church teaches us that She is seated below God. She is not God, some people have made her God and this is heresy, they must be reported. Why you do not hear about it, because it is not our business, as God taught us not to gossip and judge, to love one another. To make a scene with you is not to love you.

To call the Blessed Virgin Mary queen, mother and so on, is a position. she is bellow God. We believe she is alive and wants to help us by praying for us with ought ceasing to God our Lord. She is in eternity with all the angels and saints. They all pray to God with ought ceasing and we ask them for prayer.

To "pray" is to ask, so we ask them for prayer which is pleasing to our Lord.

There are catholic churches that have been excommunicated from rome, some churches have twisted the truth and have been reported. I have two catholic churches near my area that are not in truth. They look like catholics act like catholics but are not. Here people can think catholics do something false when it is not the Roman catholic church.

That's what almost everybody does when they can't answer the question.

I have been fortunate I guess, when I asked hard questions I was sent to the priest and the priest had answered them.

But when I was in other denominations for many years I was told: "that is a good question" ask the Holy Spirit to guide you. REALY

Did you? Did He? Where are you now?

The Holy Spirit's answer does not always match that of the priest.

What I said was that when I attended "reformed" churches, which I did for 15 years I never got an answer.

I always got an answer in the Roman Catholic church.

My problem is that whatever church I'm in, the Holy Spirit gives me answers. Some churches don't like them at all, some churches have other answers they like better, and some don't want to be bothered.

I must not understand your question. I have said She is the queen of heaven that is a title, but she is not God. I am trying to answer your question, if I am not ask me a different way for me to understand your question.

I said I always get an answer but I didn't say I understood them. I still ask God to guide me. This is called discernment right? Some issues have taken me over a year to understand, like the teaching that we are to be slaves of Jesus Christ from the letters on the NT.
