3 times lol I only read 1. is Jesus God? Jesus is the son of God, He is the a=exact representation of God. scripture identifies Him as many things, He refered to Him self as I AM. oit also names Him : the word of God, the Holy one, the alpha and omega, the king of Kings and Lord of Lords, the Lord of hosts, it calls Him " the image of the invisible God in bodily form" it calls Him the first born over all creation, and about 50 other names. I see Him as the Son of God. But your not really hearing me. If God says "This is my son with whom I am well pleased listen to Him" and that's what God says of Him, then I take Gods word as Jesus is Gods son. so Jesus is Gods son, with all authority Given to Him by His father God. so yeah the son of God, but His words are Gods words. He gods son said " my words are not my own they are the fathers words who sent me"

so if your point is that hes not God so were not supposed to follow, your waaaaay off. that's all God does say. and if God says it, I believe is. simple answer He is Gods son.

Wrong.

(Jaim, you're a little dweeb, grow up, ashten)jasonj...You said your simple answer was 'He is God's son'.Very slick, non-answer to the question. The question was, 'Is Jesus God?' Yes or no.You conveniently answered a different question.Interestingly, even in your evasion, you didn't say 'Jesus',You said 'He', and you didn't capitalize 'Son'. Hmmm.Do you have the guts to answer the actual question? Is Jesus God? Yes or No.

yes I'm not denying the holy spirit john 14-16 is a very rich scriptural polace to gain understanding on the spirit. that spirit is our new Life, comes through the word. " you are born again through the ever living incorrubtable seed of the word of God"

all things come by Gods word for the believer, not only hearing it but applying it to life as we learn it. its not like a spirit on tv like a transparent form of Jesus. its the spirit of Jesus, the spirit of His nature we receive through the gospel. his words remember what the sopirit does? He will remind you of everything I have said to you....that's one of the spirits roles in our life. and Jesus said " my word is spirit and it is Life" and the word of God is living and active"....

remember God spoke and light came forth? Gods word is living, and active. His word is Life
Well your confusing the Spirit and the Word ... 2 different things. They already had His Word, and were documenting it. The Holy Spirit didn't come until Pentecost. Ok, I'm going to get some rest, if you'd like to discuss more later, we can do that.

VVhat they are, basically, getting at is a question. "Do you believe in the Trinity?" Is Jesus Christ divine, is He your God? They aren't asking if He is the Son of God, they are asking you if He, Jesus, is YOUR GOD [capitalization added for emphasis]?

Basically, is Jesus just as equally God as God, the Father or the Holy Spirit? They are one, so the question they are asking you is inquiring about your belief in Jesus as God, Himself.

this cats been wanting to label me catholic for some reason lol never even been to a catholic church or looked into their beliefs really lol

Since you quoted me, it seems like you're saying I have been trying to label you catholic, which isn't the case. I know that wasn't your intent but it could be read that way. haha :p

yeah I stated that earlier, gave several answers, this guy wants yes or no is Jesus God, and nope not wrong at all. Jesus is the son of God. He said it. God said it at His baptism and transfiguration. you are in error and do not know the scriptures. God and Jesus testified to Jesus as Gods son. Ill go with Those 2 witnesses any day........oif you look thou I referred earlier to Him being the word of God and was accused of avoiding the question, so, right, not wrong :) it seems like everyone is trying to like get me to say something they can point at as herecy lol. The Gospel doesn't Lie. Jesus is the son of the Living God. God himself said that. Christ is everything really, but He is Known by Himself and By God as Gods only begotten son, that is Gods word, and Christs word. scriptures? Matthew 3 :17 " and a voice from heaven said " this is my son with whom I am well peased" Jesus repeatedly called God His father and called Himself the son. have you read the gospels? mark 9:7 "..this is my beloved son, listen to him"

so yeah...ill go with the fathers testimony, and the sons testimony. " let every matter be established by 2 or more witnesses" I'm pretty solid on that faith so ;) God bless ya

If you deny Jesus is the Christ, that is denying the Father and the Son 1 John 2:23

That blessed confession as Jesus said (and was given us from the Father concerning Jesus) is that "Thou art the Christ the Son of the living God"

God made him Lord and Christ,

Acts 2:36 Therefore let all the house of Israel know assuredly, that God hath made that same Jesus, whom ye have crucified, both Lord and Christ.

Whosoever "denieth the Son", the same "hath not" the Father: but he that acknowledgeth the Son hath the Father also.

T
hat wouldnt negate Psalms, as the Word that was God which was made flesh returned unto the Father where unto the Son the Father said (Psalm 45:7) "Thy throne O God is forever" Thou lovest righteousness, and hatest wickedness: therefore God, thy God, hath anointed thee with the oil of gladness above thy fellows and before he ascended he said (John 20:17) go to my brethren, and say unto them, I ascend unto my Father, and your Father; and to my God, and your God.

Even as Thomas says, My Lord and my God, says right after that

John 20:31 But these are written, that ye might believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God; and that believing ye might have life through his name.

The denial of Father and Son, and that of anti Christ is the denying that Jesus is the Christ

1 John 2:24 Who is a liar but he that denieth that Jesus is the Christ? He is antichrist, that denieth the Father and the Son.

Some folks want to make others a liar for the worng confession. Doesnt mean you can acknowledge the verses of scripture that speak to the same, "the Word was God was with God, or the Psalm, "Thy throne O God" etc, thats just not where the denial of the Father and Son are there.

haha no I was letting you know what was up, wasn't sure if u saw the earlier comments...its funny ive never even set foot in a catholic church lol, Just because of the pope being revered as "the holy father" not for me. but I'm not condemning catholics who follow the word tho....Just the doctrines the church teaches are in disagreement with the gospel....lol I understand :)

I'm not denying the son or the father :) earlier I answered He was the word, gods exact reperesentation ect.....but was infoirmed I was being evasive lol. Jesus is My Lord, God is His father. God has guiven Him authority and equality. He was with and in God was part of God is how I read the 1 ch of John. The son is who He claimed to be, and also what Gods voice said 2 times. I think we misunderstand as a father and ason are in human existence. God is so immeasurable that His son is also immeasurable. I'm comfortable with Jesus the son, God the father, and the holy spirit of Jesus as the trinity. because in the gospel its established By the father and son. my own view of Jesus is more" He is all and in all and through all and by Him all things hold together." and He is creation and Life and the Like........

A continuation of a bunch of convoluted nonsense,
with a bunch of scriptures thrown together to make it
appear intellectual and superior.

Or you could get a backbone and just answer the question.
It's not a trick question or a trap, if you know the truth.
It's either, Yes, Jesus is God, or, No, Jesus is not God.
You pride yourself on your knowledge and obedience,
what are you afraid of?

John 8:58 is another example. Jesus declared, "I say unto you, Before Abraham was, I am. " Again, in response, the Jews take up stones in an attempt to stone Jesus (John 8:59). Why would the Jews want to stone Jesus if He hadn’t said something they believed to be blasphemous

And he is before all things, and by him all things consist." (Colossians 1:15-17)

John 1:1 says that “the Word was God.” John 1:14 says that “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us”

Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a son, and they shall call His name Emmanuel, which being interpreted is, God with us.
Matthew 1:23

You're own understanding is incorrect. Even accepting what you believe, one would have to say that the Holy Spirit belongs to God the Father, NOT Jesus. The Holy Spirit existed from the beginning, going all the way back to Genesis, and is found all throughout the O.T. The Holy Spirit, even for non-Trinitarians, belongs to the Father, not the Son.

Also, you cannot change the meaning of "Trinity". Trinity means 3 persons in One. And they are: The Father, The Son, The Holy Spirit.
The Holy Spirit, in Trinitarian belief, is a person and NOT the holy spirit of either the Father or the Son.

Jason, would you say you are a Unitarian? Some of the stances you hold would make it seem so. Even the way you described the Holy Spirit seemed to be lacking personhood. You also don't seem to be telling anyone straightforward that Jesus is deity. All these beliefs fall under Unitarianism. Just curious. :)

Don't want to be bombarding you, I just think from what you have presented and the way you are speaking of Jesus and the Holy Spirit it seems to point to Unitarianism.

yes actually I quoted Jesus saying " I am" when the question was asked earlier. and was told I was being evasive and needed a yes or no answer......im not comfortable really with saying Jesus is God, I know the scripts u guiys are showing and I see what ur saying......its Just my faith tells me I can rest with what God said in the gospel about Jesus, He is my som woith whom I am well pleased. he said it 2 times. at baptism and at the transfiguration. in colossians it says alotbut I refered to some of the scriptures you guys are saying....wasn't an acceptable answer earlier.

I'm comfortable with Jesus claiming to be the son, and God the Father. cant really go beyond that, not that there may be a day I see it like you guys do. just ill stick with the son and Father as presented in the gospel. that's where I live and believe. not that you guys are wrong in your beliefs or how you wish to label Jesus, I couldn't argue the scriptures you both presented. my comfortability is Son of God, IF we must label the One name

I don't have a denomination ben, or a doctrine I learned from someone. I just fix on the gospel.

What is a Unitarian? can you give a quick rundown of their main beliefs?
