Was Jesus lying when He said, "A new command I give to you."???

If it was a new command, it did not come from the older covenants.

Actually it is probably the exact opposite, many many people appear to be doing good and following all that God commands, but they have the gospel all wrong.

Hi C

Good to 90%

The rest is words. I wish we could all use the same words.

Your list of 1-10.... good.

THEN.

We can see what a person truly believes BY HIS ACTIONS, Not by his gospel message.
I could talk all I want to, it's what I behave like and DO that counts. Remember the parable of the two sons?
Which one did the Father's will? The one who SAID he would work in the Vineyard OR the one who DID work in the Vineyard?
Mathew 21:28-32
Of course, it's the one WHO DID WORK IN THE VINEYARD...

We DO need discipleship after salvation. We could start by reading the gospels and doing what Jesus instructed us to do...

The "growing up" in Christ is NOT dicsipleship... It's called SANCTIFICATION. (I'm getting blue in the face).

We should NOT waste a lot of time saying we are babes in Christ. From the moment we become born again, we should be willing to FOLLOW our Master.

Otherwise, He's not our master...

Why do people call themselves "protestant" when they uphold Catholicism?

What do they protest of Roman Catholicism when they defend it as superior?

It seems duplicitous.

I have made my position clear...

1. Faith void of anything eternally saves, justifies, seals and sanctifies in Christ positionally
2. Any work, fruit is the result of Christ in us and through us as a living sacrifice
3. Any work or fruit is the result of the faith and salvation one already possesses in Christ eternally
4. Every man's work will be judged by fire and rewarded accordingly
5. Faithful believers produce works of Gold, silver and precious stones
6. Believers who are not faithful will produce works of wood, hay and stubble yet will remain saved
7. There is NO prescribed amount of works that one can do or must do that will save other than BELIEVE on Jesus
8. There is NO prescribed amount of works that one can do or must do to prove salvation...1, 2, 3 or 50000 is irrelevant....only God can judge....and JESUS was clear....even a cup of cold water in the name of Jesus or a disciple will not go unnoticed and or unrewarded.....
9. It is the ROOT that produces...the root is JESUS......
And I agree with it all Dcon. Am wondering if Fran would agree with my simple statement. For it is true...just simplistic.

Entrance into heaven is our complete salvation. Only by the blood of Jesus. What we gain as rewards there are our works.

You said one thing here that really struck though Dcon. The root. The root that produces. This IMO is where Jesus may say, I never knew you. For truth is that the works of God are by faith in the gift given and then acting out of it.. It's always by His power, for we have none of our own.

But, I wasn't going that far in my statement. Just wanted to say that I really like what you said.

Are the works that Fran is speaking of...good deeds to others? Might clear up some stuff.

No it's a song referencing Jesus. But then he goes on to mock that it isn't what he's looking for. Suggest looking into the song writers secret. Love songs ain't about boys and girls.
The saints before the throne in heaven ask "how long?" Still waiting for our patient Lord to reveal His justice.

Your opinion is that the mock God too?

Dude. Lol.

You don't get to tell me my opinion sorry "dude". You're point jumped the shark. The pope can speak out against war by quoting the Bible. Does that make him a Christian? If you think that bono is a Christian because he references Jesus in a secular song without looking at the whole picture.

I'm sorry, I was talking about whether the resurrection has happened and Christ has already returned - the things you implied were so.

Did not realize that you personally judging another man's soul was more important to you than speaking with sound theological truth.

Well my lovelies, I am off for the day. My beautiful daughter turns thirty one tomorrow, but I will be seeing her today and going out for dinner with her and her dad and aunt to celebrate that fact. She was born at twenty four weeks gestation weighing under a pound and a half at a time in my life when all was chaos and dark, but she has brought more and more light and love into my life as time passes, and much to be grateful for. Please pray for her and her dad and aunt. They are all non believers. My daughter I would call an agnostic, but her dad and aunt atheist, especially her dad. Thank you.

I will have the blueberry peach pie, please. And some of that
cake Dcon served up. Man, that looked absolutely delish!

Lol, your ability to confound with one liners is...confounding. Judging another man's soul? I don't think i have that kind of jet fuel, I can discern truth from lies though.

But you can say that people you've never met - people in particular who publicly confess Christ crucified and risen and returning - are "not Christian" ??

And you just told me Christ has already returned, so if I wait for Him, not having yet found that day, I've "missed it" ?

Ok, I think I know who is the whacko in this conversation ....
