The thing is this what is sin or rather when is sin reckoned upon a man.

james 4:17 "Therefore to him that knoweth to do good, and doeth it not, to him it is sin.

sin is based on the persons awareness of right and wrong. you arent accountable for what i know, and oim not accountable for what you Know. its between you. Jesus, and God the Father. and is based on what we grasp as we learn Gods Word. we Know what sin is by the Law, yet many do not have any understanding of the Law. we cant pretend we dont Know what we know because Gods spirit is there within us He knows exactly what we Know in our conscience. and that is where we hear from God thats the pledge of a clear conscience we walk in.

1 peter 3:20-22 "Which sometime were disobedient, when once the longsuffering of God waited in the days of Noah, while the ark was a preparing, wherein few, that is, eight souls were saved by water.21The like figure where unto even baptism doth also now save us (not the putting away of the filth of the flesh, but the answer of a good conscience toward God,) by the resurrection of Jesus Christ: 22Who is gone into heaven, and is on the right hand of God; angels and authorities and powers being made subject unto him.

thats what baptism is about, it reflects back to a time BEFORE the Law was given. Our pledge of a clear conscience is to act according to what we Know and grasp. I guess what im saying is repentance happens as our understanding Grows, so does our need to repent. because sin is doing what we Know is wrong, or rather Not doing what we Know is right, as our Knowledge Grows as we Seek in the word and in prayer God brings things to light in our conscience and makes us aware that were sinning with whatever behavior. when we repent of that and continue growing more comes up as we follow repentance and grow in Knowledge which grows our consciousnes of sin so that we are able to repent of sin.

so a person who isnt yet finished, is still blameless as they keep in step with the spirit. in my past i was a truly terrible sinner. I was already aware of some things i was doing being sin because ive studied so much of the word for so long. when i came into the repentance season. My conscience went through a one thing at a time process. drinking and fighting in bars on the weekend that used to be a hobby something that was a sport really for me. i became so convicted of how terrible that was, and through that conviction i came th=o the thought " How can i pretend to be a christian when this is something i do and rather enjoy?

there was so much regret, so much true sorrow for my sin. I stopped drinking all together, and started learning to be a peacemaker rather than a trouble maker. when i made the decision to stop and actually wuit doing that. the guilt, shame sorrow just disappeared. from the decision came the action and from the action came the cleansing. Now days i hate when people fight, truly see it as foolishness and have no inclination to even fight when someone offends me. it changed my Heart through that repentance. i felt like i had really accomplished something through the spirit and the Word.

i felt justified now like i was finished, then though another behavior popped into my conscience, same thing i dealt with it through Gods Word and conviction, again and again that process grows. each time i think well im finally finished things i never even realized were wrong, come to my mind because i find them in the word where i had read them before, and not seen them now they sticj out and i cant miss them.

I guess what im saying is as we keep in step, were righteous even though we arent finished yet. our conscience needs to remain clear as we remaoin in the word and as we repent through that process. for me anyways its not a finished thing. its more of when im conscious im in the wrong, the need is repentance because it affects my prayer life when im convicted. it doesnt feel as intimate. but when i have a good conscience knowing God is pleased, prayer is so much more powerful because i know that i know that i know God is right there listening with a pleased Heart toward me. but when something comes to mind i need to deal with, i know he lves and hears me but that conviction rides in me and is present in prayer. as if God is saying i love you you know that and im here listening, but go deal with this thing, its now time for you to get rid of this....

The demons BELIEVE that God is real...this does not equate to SAVING FAITH and their destiny is sealed already....redemption is NOT available unto them......!
While the words 'believe' and 'faith' might be considered as being one in the same, or synonymous by our natural mind, however in the scriptures they are two different terms.

Since faith is a gift that man can't obtain by their own works, the believer cannot discern between the these two terms and neither can they receive this precept since it is foolishness to them.

Thus, I aver to your reply in which you state that the demons believe that God is real, since I cannot tell you what demons believe, I guess I will have to take your word for it. However I am familiar with the scripture you appear to be citing in your post, that being James 2:19;


"Thou believest that there is one God; thou doest well: the devils also believe, and tremble."

(I hope you didn't think that I said I had to take your word for what devils believe because I think you are a demon. Nah, I believe what you said because faith believes all things, unless it has the knowledge of the principle which would refute what is claimed.)

However, was James actually saying that the devils believe in one God? In consideration of Proverbs 9:8 wherein it is written, "Reprove not a scorner, lest he hate thee: rebuke a wise man, and he will love thee." it seems to me that whether you believe or have the 'saving faith' of believers that they both think that there is one God.

Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my words: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with him. John 14:23

Whosoever transgresseth, and abideth not in the doctrine of Christ, hath not God. He that abideth in the doctrine of Christ, he hath both the Father and the Son. 2 John 9

so you would have a great place to wuote that if someone was telling you that you needed to be circumcised and keep the mosaic Law, not a single person is saying that. thats what you gog folks do you pluck one verse from its context, and then argue it as if it supports your idea that sin is ok and doesnt apply any longer. you see exactly what paul is saying there. we who sow to the spirit will reap everlasting life. those who continue in the works of the flesh will reap corruption. he then goes on as the whole letter of galatians is because judaizers had come saying they had to be circumcized, yet you are trying to use that 1 verse as proof that repentance isnt necassary.

and to i guess suggest the whole " finished works of the cross theory that the gog trusts in so bindly. i suppose there are 2 different faiths at work here 1 that makes what you do whether sin or righteousness after Jesus dies for you irrelevant, doesnt matter God will save just because Jesus died. and the other people who can accept the rest of scripture and not have to be so offended when they read things like this regarding those works of the flesh FRPM THE SAME LETTER NOT EVEN A FULL CHAPTER BEFORE THAT SINGLE OUT OF CONTEXT VERSE

you guys despise that these things are throughout the word of God. because there is no getting around the fact that the works of the flesh are your actions and those are what you cant do and still be saved into the Kingdom of God its no different from what Jesus said about those who work iniquity in that first comment you cant stand is in the Bible. the same letter to the same church nopt a chapter before and this just doesnt apply only " glorying in the cross" :) you gog ers should stop lying to yourselves and accept Gods word. He will never ever be fine with sin, never say well Jesus died so dont worry about all your ongoing sin, your already saved. clearly Paul forbids sinful actions in regards to salvation. rather than pluck what you think supports the gog, why not learn the gospel? its actually there and actually works. the answer to why thats not acceptable to people is because they enjoy the flesh too much to even consider giving it up.

In Colossians 2:16-17, Paul refers to the Sabbath as a shadow of Christ, which is no longer binding since the substance (Christ) has come. It's clear in those verses that the weekly Sabbath is in view. The phrase "a festival or a new moon or a Sabbath day" refers to the annual, monthly, and weekly holy days of the Jewish calendar (1 Chronicles 23:31; 2 Chronicles 2:4; 31:3; Ezekiel 45:17; Hosea 2:11). If Paul were referring to special ceremonial dates of rest in that passage, why would he have used the word "Sabbath?" He had already mentioned the ceremonial dates when he spoke of festivals and new moons.

Let’s take a look at all the scriptures you have quoted along with your interpretation and let the Word of God answer your question.

Col 2:16-17,
Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbaths days: Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ.

1Ch 23:31

and whenever burnt offerings were presented to the LORD on the Sabbaths, at the New Moon feasts and at the appointed festivals. They were to serve before the LORD regularly in the proper number and in the way prescribed for them.

2Ch 2:4,
Now I am about to build a temple for the Name of the LORD my God and to dedicate it to him for burning fragrant incense before him, for setting out the consecrated bread regularly, and for making burnt offerings every morning and evening and on the Sabbaths, at the New Moons and at the appointed festivals of the LORD our God. This is a lasting ordinance for Israel.

Eze 45:17-21,
It shall be the prince’s duty to furnish the burnt offerings, grain offerings, and drink offerings, at the feasts, the new moons, and the Sabbaths, at all the appointed feasts of the house of Israel: he shall provide the sin offerings, grain offerings, burnt offerings, and peace offerings, to make atonement on behalf of the house of Israel: he shall prepare the sin offering, and the meat offering, and the burnt offering, and the peace offerings, to make reconciliation for the house of Israel. Thus saith the Lord GOD; In the first month, in the first day of the month, thou shalt take a young bullock without blemish, and cleanse the sanctuary: And the priest shall take of the blood of the sin offering, and put it upon the posts of the house, and upon the four corners of the settle of the altar, and upon the posts of the gate of the inner court. I will stop all her celebrations: her yearly festivals, her New Moons, her Sabbath days--all her appointed festivals.
Let’s start with all the scriptures you have quoted above. The context of all the Scripture you have quoted above are only in connection with the same things;
(1) Sabbath(s) at the New Moons;
(2) Appointed feasts;
(3) Burnt offerings, food and drink offering;
(4) All the above is being referred to in Col 2:16-17
All of the above scriptures have the same things in common. They are referring to annual Feasts or festivals of Israel commanded under the laws of Moses. Let’s read about them from God’s Word in

All the above were called annual sabbaths because they had special connections and duty requirements with certain yearly feasts. In addition to the weekly Sabbaths (Lev. 23:3), there were seven annual, ceremonial sabbaths scattered through Israel's religious calendar. These yearly sabbaths were not directly related to the seventh-day Sabbath or the weekly cycle. These sabbaths, "beside the Sabbaths of the Lord" (Lev. 23:38), were the first and last days of the Feast of Unleavened Bread, the Day of Pentecost, the Feast of Trumpets, the Day of Atonement, and the first and last days of the Feast of Tabernacles (Lev. 23:7, 8, 21, 24, 25, 27, 28, 35, 36).

Because the reckoning of these sabbaths depended on the beginning of the sacred year, which was based on the lunar calendar, they could fall on any day of the week. When they coincided with the weekly Sabbath, they were called "high days" (John 19:31). "While the weekly Sabbath was ordained at the close of Creation week for all mankind, the annual sabbaths were an integral part of the Jewish system of rites and ceremonies included in the laws of Moses which pointed forward to the coming of the Messiah, and the observance of which terminated with His death on the cross (Col 2:14).

1 Cor 5:7-8 Purge out therefore the old leaven, that ye may be a new lump, as ye are unleavened. For even Christ our Passover is sacrificed for us: therefore let us keep the feast, not with old leaven, neither with the leaven of malice and wickedness; but with the unleavened bread of sincerity and truth.

Paul is saying that the believing Christian need not keep the ceremonial laws, the shadow sabbaths, because they find fulfillment in faith in Jesus Christ, the true passover lamb.
The yearly ceremonial sabbaths associated with the Hebrew Temple, which taught the plan of salvation through a coming Messiah, the passover lamb of God. Now that salvation through Jesus of Nazareth is clear to the Gentile church, there is no further need for the earthly Temple, its ceremonies and shadow feast sabbaths because that lesson has been learned by those with faith.

However, nowhere does the Bible indicate that one of the Ten Commandments has been abrogated, or that the disciples or Jesus abandoned the weekly Seventh-day Sabbath for Sunday keeping.

Spring Festival Calendar:

· Passover, The crucifixion, Jesus is God's Passover Lamb. (14 Nisan, not a Sabbath)
· Feast of Unleavened Bread (Pilgrimage to Jerusalem required for all men.) Putting away sin from one's life.
o Sabbath of 15 Nisan, 1st day of the feast.
o The Omer, first fruits of the barley harvest, 16 Nisan. Resurrection.
o Sabbath of 21 Nisan, 7th and last day of the feast.
· Feast of Weeks - Pentecost, a sabbath day 50 days after the Omer (Pilgrimage to Jerusalem required for all men.) Firstfruits of the wheat harvest. The outpouring of the Holy Spirit.

Fall Festival Calendar:

· Trumpets, Sabbath of 1 Tishri, Announcement of impending judgment.
· Day of Atonement, Sabbath of 10 Tishri, The pre-Advent Judgment.
· Feast of Tabernacles (Pilgrimage to Jerusalem required for all men.) The ingathering of God's people - the second coming.
o Sabbath of 15 Tishri, 1st day of Tabernacles, freed from the bondage of sin.
o Sabbath of 22 Tishri, 8th and last day of Tabernacles.

Prior to the incarnation of Jesus and his crucifixion, all the above festivals awaited their fulfillment. They were what are called "types". They were symbolic of specific events yet to come. The event that is foretold is referred to as the "antitype". In the New Testament, the Greek words corresponding to type and antitype are:

G5179. tupos, too'-pos; from G5180; a die (as struck), i.e. (by impl.) a stamp or scar; by anal. a shape, i.e. a statue, (fig.) style or resemblance; spec. a sampler ("type"), i.e. a model (for imitation) or instance (for warning):--en- (ex-) ample, fashion, figure, form, manner, pattern, print.
G499. antitupon, an-teet'-oo-pon; neut. of a comp. of G473 and G5179; corresponding ["antitype"], i.e. a representative, counterpart:--(like) figure (whereunto).
The "shadow" or "type" itself had no substance, but rather pointed to a future event that would have substance, the "antitype". For example, slaying the Passover lamb is the type, the crucifixion of Jesus is the antitype.
The connection with Col 2:16-17?

Lets look at it but we will look also at the context from verse 14...14 (context),"Blotting out the handwriting" (Greek = manuscript legal document G5495) of "ordinances" (G1378 δόγμα, dogma; dog'-mah = civil, ceremonial or ecclesiastical ordinance) that was against us, which was contrary to us, and took it out of the way, nailing it to his cross; So the context is the blotting out of the civil, ceremonial and ecclesiastical laws. So Paul is not talking about any of God's 10 commandments or moral law as the Greek word used is Dogma. This is the Context in verse 14 and follows on to verses 16-17

15 And having spoiled principalities and powers, he made a shew of them openly, triumphing over them in it.
16 Let no man therefore judge you in meat, or in drink, or in respect of an holyday, or of the new moon, or of the sabbath day(s)

17 Which are a shadow of things to come; but the body is of Christ. So comparing Leviticus Chapter 23 and looking at both the Hebrew and Greek in context of Col 2:14-17 it can be clearly shown that Paul is firstly referring to new moons, food and drink offerings, holy days and ceremonial annual Sabbaths (also called high Sabbaths (John 19:31) that all have their origin and connection to the annual feasts (e.g Passover, Feast of Unleavened Bread, Feast of First Fruits, Blowing of Trumpets, Day of Atonement and Feast of Tabernacles) These were the Shadow Sabbaths referred to in Col 2:16 which were all pointing to Jesus and nailed to the cross. As the context is the ceremonial and ecclesiastical laws.

Now in comparison let’s look at God’s 4[SUP]th[/SUP] commandment from His 10 commandments. In God’s Law (10 commandments) the 4[SUP]th[/SUP] commandment of God is very clear and specific.

Exo 20:8-11,

Remember the Sabbath day, to keep it holy. Six days shalt thou labour, and do all thy work: But the seventh day is the Sabbath of the LORD thy God: in it thou shalt not do any work, thou, nor thy son, nor thy daughter, thy manservant, nor thy maidservant, nor thy cattle, nor thy stranger that is within thy gates: For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the Sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Please show me where it says we need to offer burnt offerings, meat and drink offerings and on the New Moon in this commandment? It is a weekly 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath commandment to be held every week not only with annual feast days of Leviticus 23. This is the distinction between the yearly ceremonial sabbaths and the 7th-day weekly Sabbath commandment: obviously the 7th-day Sabbath occurs on the last day of every week, but rather than being prophetic in nature, it is commemorative, a memorial to creation, established by God himself as scripture clearly tells us (Gen 2:1-3). Because it is only commemorative, and not a shadow of things to come, the weekly 7th-day Sabbath is not part of the discussion in Colossians 2:17. When this is understood, the weekly 7[SUP]th[/SUP]-day Sabbath is clearly not a part of the prophetic sequence of events in the plan of salvation that are portrayed by the yearly ceremonial Sabbaths. Other references to the laws of Moses and feast days can be better understood;

Paul is saying that the believing Christian need not keep the ceremonial laws, the shadow sabbaths at the New Moons, the meat offerings and the drink offereings because they find fulfillment in faith in Jesus Christ, the true passover lamb.
The yearly ceremonial sabbaths associated with the Hebrew Temple, which taught the plan of salvation through a coming Messiah, the passover lamb of God. Now that salvation through Jesus of Nazareth is clear to the Gentile church, there is no further need for the earthly Temple, its ceremonies and shadow feast sabbaths because that lesson has been learned by those with faith. Nowhere does the Bible indicate that one of the Ten Commandments has been abrogated, or that the disciples or Jesus abandoned the weekly 7th-day Sabbath for Sunday keeping.

The specific words, the "Lord's Day" are not found in Ex 20:8-11, but we see the "Lord's Day" in Revelation 1:10. As Greek scholar AT Robertson points out, the Lord's Day is the first day of the week - Revelation 1:10 Commentary - Robertson's Word Pictures of the New Testament which is Sunday. Once again, the early Christians began to worship God on Sunday (the Lord's Day), because the first day of the week became associated with Christ's resurrection (Matthew 28:1-10; Luke 24:1; John 20:1; Revelation 1:10). We see from Acts 20:7 and I Corinthians 16:1-3 that the early Church gathered together on the first day of every week in order to "break bread," and also to take up a "collection for the saints." Nowhere in the New Testament is the Church commanded to gather together to worship on the Jewish seventh day Sabbath.

Why would there need to be a command anyone to keep God’s Sabbath when God already gave all his commandments to His people already?

Where in the New Testament does it also say that we are to keep any of the 1[SUP]st[/SUP] four commandments which are our duty towards God (Ex 20:1-11)?

So if we do not see any of the first 4 commandments that are our duty to God in the New Testament does that mean I can go and worship Idol, have other Gods and use the Lords name in vain? Same as God’s 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath if we love God we will keep His commandments. Jesus is our example in all things and all the disciples after the death of Jesus all kept the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath according to God’s commandment.

Show me one bible verse in all of whole of God’s Word that says we are commanded to no longer keep God’s 4[SUP]th[/SUP] commandment and to keep Sunday worship as a Holy day? Here is a hint there are not scriptures because Sunday worship is a man-made tradition over the Word of God.

The "Lords Day" has only ever been one day. It is the day that God's Word says it is and it is NOT Sunday... Jesus says..

Mark 2:27
Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.

Further, there are no commandments or exhortations in the New Testament for us to keep the Sabbath. Rather, the early church gathered on the first day of the week in celebration and remembrance of the resurrection. This is evident throughout the book of Acts (cf. also 1 Cor. 16:2 and Acts 20:7). Acts 20:7 is the clearest verse in the New Testament which indicates that Sunday was the normal meeting day of the apostolic church. Paul stayed in Troas for seven days (v. 6) and the church met on the first day of the week. Note also in the 1 Cor. 16:1f passage that, though Paul is dealing with giving, there is no mention of tithing just as there is no call to assemble on the Sabbath (Saturday) as in the Old Testament. Paul never used the word “tithe” when he discussed giving, even though he gave more attention to giving than any other New Testament writer. Giving should be a systematic, weekly practice on Sunday, the first day of the week, when the church meets together. Giving was also to be proportionate—in keeping with one’s income (cf. A meeting place for the disciples to have a meal together is not a commandment for a Holy day. Show me one bible verse in the whole of God’s Word that we are commanded to no longer keep God’s 4[SUP]th[/SUP] commandment and to keep Sunday worship as a Holy day? It could be shown from both the Old and New but let’s stay with the New. What does the New Testament teach about the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath that God's people already had from the Old Testament that is in the New?

Scripture support:

(1) Jesus taught us that the Sabbath was made for mankind and that mankind was not created for the Sabbath (Mark 2:27)

(2) Jesus is the Lord of the Sabbath and that this is the Lord's Day and NOT Sunday (Mark 2:28). Jesus came to

(3) Jesus taught us that it is ok to enjoy the Sabbath and to do good on the Sabbath (Matt 12:1-8; 10-12; 24:20; Mark 3:1-5; Luke 6:1-10; 13:14-16; 14:1-5; John 7:22-23; 9:14)

(4) Jesus taught and fellow shipped with his people on the Sabbath (Mark 1:21; Mark 6:2; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 14:1; 23:56). Similar verses can be shown for the apostles after the death of Jesus (Acts 13:14; 13:27; 13:44; 15:21; 16:13; 17:2; 18:4; Rev 1:10)

Absolutely, next verse.. on these two commandments hang all the law and the prophets (Matt 22:40).

John 15:2 Every branch IN JESUS that does not bear fruit, the Father cuts away.

Titus 2:14 Jesus gave Himself for us, to redeem us of every lawless deed, and to purify for Himself a pure people,
ZEALOUS for GOOD WORKS.
titus 3:8 "This is a faithful saying, and these things I will that thou affirm constantly, that they which have believed in God might be careful to maintain good works. These things are good and profitable unto men."

In Colossians 2:16-17, Paul refers to the Sabbath as a shadow of Christ, which is no longer binding since the substance (Christ) has come.

Lessons from the Creation Week


1. Gods 7th Day Sabbath was created BEFORE the fall of mankind (Gen 2:1-3)
2. It was given as the result of the FINISHED work of creation (Gen 2:1)
3. God blessed the 7th day of the week and set it apart from the other days of the week as a holy day of rest (Gen 2:2-3)
4. Jesus tells us that the 7th Day Sabbath was made for mankind (Mark 2:27)
5. Jesus is Lord of the Sabbath day – the God of creation (Matt 12:8; Mark 2:28).

Now all of this was the result of the FINISHED work of creation and it was made for mankind BEFORE sin entered into the world. This is a very critical point because if the Sabbath was made for sinless man before the fall and was the result of the FINISHED work of creation (Gen 2:1). How can Col 2:17 be referring to the 4th Commandment 7th Day Sabbath (Ex 20:8-11) when Col 2:17 is referring to an UNFINISHED work?

Now let’s look at your interpretation.

Christ is our Sabbath rest we no longer need to keep the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath based Col 2:17.

The only references in scripture referring to the 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath is only referring to Day(s) not Jesus (many scriptures Gen 2:1-3, Ex 20-8:11; Ex 16:26, Ex 20:8-11, Ex 31:15; Ex 35:2; too many skip on a little Isa 56:2; Jer 17:21-27, Matt 12:5-12; Matt 24:20; Mark 1:21; Mark 2:24-28; Mark 3:4; Mark 6:2; Mark 16:1; Luke 4:16; 31; Luke 6:9; 13:14-16 Zzz sorry there is too many you get the point).

On the other hand can you show me any scripture that say we no longer need to keep God’s 7[SUP]th[/SUP] Day Sabbath command holy?

Also can you show me any bible verses that say that Jesus is a Sabbath day?
