show one post where someone says " .. can be a believer for many year without bearing any fruit ".

show a post one someone types out these words.
Some of the guys in here are as false as can be.........like Satan in the garden, they twist the word, change what they say, accuse us of saying things we do not say and flat twist the truth.....................I stand amazed at the people that peddle a self saving dogma or that push a losable salvation and then without batting an eye will lie, twist, embellish, change, deny, not only the word of God, but the things we say as well........

The same guy that lied about me by saying that I did not even know that faith was a gift now is saying that i say that prodigal sons that never come back blah blah blah.......

He will have to direct quote me saying that or still be found false.........

prodigal sons represent those who were "saved" but made the choice to walk away from the father. have you ever wondered why the father never went to the far country to bring his son back home? because sin is a choice and serving God is a choice we must all make. God will not force any of us to Love him.
Luke 15:24 (KJV)
24 For this my son was dead, and is alive again; he was lost, and is found. And they began to be merry.

Luke 15:32 (KJV)
32 It was meet that we should make merry, and be glad: for this thy brother was dead, and is alive again; and was lost, and is found.

Is a dead son and a lost son any better off than no son at all?
Again you call JESUS a liar.......man..you gonna pay.....

Did not JESUS say the good shepherd will leave the 99 to find the one that wanders away?

I suggest you guys take some time, get right, trust JESUS and wrap your head around the truth.....the more you post, the more you state clearly that you are missing the mark......

AND HEBREWS states if salvation can be LOST it is IMPOSSIBLE to be renewed....so which is it......jive that one......the funny thing...you won't be able to without twisting the word which so far is par for the course with you......

they will use hebrews 10:26 to teach you can lose salvation. OK!
But lets be consistent: WHY do they teach you can get it back which hebrews 10:26 specifically DENIES!

They jump hoops over it!

Now your roots are showing....lookie here folks...another deceptive person changing what was said and how he applies his word.....

No...your original argument was that WORKS are a GIFT just as GRACE/FAITH/SALVATION

and your second bolded is false as well.....

We have all said that the works are the RESULT/BYPRODUCT of the free gifts of faith/grace and salvation

Just another Mr. Twisty here guys............just like when he accused me of NOT knowing that faith is a GIFT.....so I pulled two quotes from 2014, 2015 where I said that FAITH was a GIFT from GOD......

If you cannot be honest that makes you a what exactly??????????

Salvation is a big pile of presents. Open one box, WOW, regeneration/Holy Spirit. Open another, WOW! Justification. Another, adoption papers! Thank you God! Fellowship with God! Another. Sanctification! I love it. Another, hope! On and on and on. Then another. Open the package. It contains the purpose of God for your life. The good works which God has chosen for us to walk in.

OK, there's three denials that DC made that I have provided documentation for. It's time for the name calling to stop

You asked me if the prodigal son dies in that state, is he still a son?
Well, answer the question. IS he still a son, even though he's now dead? A person doesn't become unsaved, just because they stray for awhile. If that were the case, then we are all in trouble.

Where do you read in the Bible about the prodigal son NOT coming home? Why put hypotheticals out there that have NO BASIS in scripure?

Who does the prodigal represent? Hint- look at Luke 15:1-3 which gives the context for all three parables in Luke 15.

By asking this question, you miss the point of the entire parable, just like DC did. GO BACK and read Luke 15 STARTING in verses 1-3. Verses 1-3 are the interpretive key IE CONTEXT to interpreting ALL THREE PARABLES. Some people forgot that interpreting a text without considering the context is a pretext.

I never said he didn't come home.. HE DID. :) But if he had died while he was gone, would he still be his father's son? Or would death nullify that status?

It's a yes or no question.

Actually it's not, because the prodigal son in the parable represents sinners coming to Jesus. READ THE FIRST THREE VERSES OF THE CHAPTER. The Prodigal son represents the PUBLICANS AND SINNERS. Were they saved before they came to Jesus?

You must interpret scripture ACCORDING TO CONTEXT. To put born again Christians that backslide into those parables is to wrest the parables violently from their context. The context is found in Luke 15 VERSES 1-3. READ THEM

I fear that all the errors here are due to careless reading of scripture.

BEGS the question: Just because you are a son doesnt mean you inherit a THING. Parables are parables. Its best not to read too much into them. They are focused on teaching a truth. Just like this one. The key is: To WHOM is this adressed to!

So the answer is: we dont know

What we do know is that all true believers in that position WOULD return. OR ELSE it would be found "They went out from us but werent of us"

the prodigal son in the parable represents sinners coming to Jesus. READ THE FIRST THREE VERSES OF THE CHAPTER. The Prodigal son represents the PUBLICANS AND SINNERS. The parables were told in response to the scribes and pharisees murmering about Jesus receiving them.

I have repeated this at least a dozen times, and people still don't get it. SO the problem is not with my speech, it is with their lack of hearing or listening or whatever.

Actually, all true believers will return in that position because the words "They went out from us but werent of us" ARE INDEED FOUND IN SCRIPTURE.

That would line up with the argument that in this parable, being made "alive again" foreshadows the "born again" experience that Jesus spoke of in John 3:3. Of course Jesus wasn't talking about being born again spiritually again and again. We are born once physically and born "again" once spiritually.

People in the NOSAS camp interpret this parable as the prodigal son was spiritually alive, then spiritually died (lost his salvation) and was spiritually alive "again" (regained his salvation).

I find it interesting that certain translations of Luke 15:32 simply say your brother was dead, and is alive; he was lost, and is found (ESV); your brother was dead, but now he is alive. He was lost, but now he is found (NCV); this brother of yours was dead and has come to life; he was lost and has been found (NRS); this brother of yours was dead and has begun to live, and was lost and has been found (NAS).

Apologized for the mistake about faith is a gift, so you bringing it up shows that you lack graciousness whatsoever.

as far as the second, are you denying that you asked me the question " if a prodigal DIES IN THAT STATE, are they still a son??
