I think we just have to also look at another part of the same passage

whoever sins has NEVER SEEN OR KNOWN GOD.

using his interpretation. As committing a personal sin. No one here has ever seen or known God.
Hi EG...
I want to ask a question...

Am I correct that no one ever will see God but through Jesus...

When we go home to be with our LORD , and we see Him face to face , because He is God , is that the way we only see God ?

I am still learning , so I do not know all things , but I do know Jesus is God , so when we see the Son , we are seeing God , but we can never see God as pure as He is?

I see it as no one can see God unless they look at Jesus, because he is the representation of God.

IE, if you want to know God and see who he is, Look at Christs life, Then look at what Christ does for you AFTER you are saved,,

ie, God is LOVE,

You could also look at it as, Jesus is the ONLY one who can save us and bring us to God. :) No one else can, only Jesus. He is the only one who can allow us to go to the Father. :)

Do you mean when we go to heaven?
Yes Bill...
We will see Jesus face to face , whom is God , but can we ever see God face to face ?...

This is something I am thinking about , can we ever see God...

As I type this , I know God is Spirit , so the only way we see God is through Jesus , just something I am pondering on...xox...

But can we see see our Father in all His gloriousness , is this why we can only see Him through His Son ?...
Can we see in Heaven God face to face ?...xox...

I thought she meant that too.
I don't think we will see God the Father in flesh in heaven.
God is spirit.
Yet we have seen God in the flesh here on earth as the son.

So when go to heaven we will see God in the flesh as the son will be in the flesh in heaven.

The trinity has always existed and always will.
So in a sense we will see him face to face.

Revelation 22:3-4
3 And there shall be no more curse, but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it, and His servants shall serve Him. 4 They shall see His face, and His name shall be on their foreheads.

Is that what you are saying?
Or am I having a wacky thought?

I posted my thoughts whilst you were trying yours.

Maybe I'm being too simple but yes we will see God face to face.
The Father, Son and Holy Spirit are one.

Your explanation of 1 John 3 is SPOT ON. But kjv doesn’t believe in sinless perfection. He believes that 1 John 3:9 and other verses teach a Christian is sinless even if he or she lives in habitual sin, because it is the old man sinning and not the new man that is sinning. So in his paradigm that makes him sinless. That is how he interprets 1 John 3:9

I disagree with him. I believe God has given us a new nature so that we can put off the old man with his works and put on the new man, created in Christ

We either follow the flesh or the Spirit. He doesn’t seem to understand that
VCO do you disagree with this post? I thought I was in agreement with you.

I think when we get to heaven we will see God. we may never see the father, or maybe only some will. But the thing that we can not see God face to face or we would die I think only relates to us here on earth (if we even saw an angel as they are I think we would die of fear)

It makes me sad to see such a position too

I linked to the post you liked. The response was to the post I was replying to, which you liked. I am not saying I have a problem with the post or the like. I was giving additional info to clarify. I’m not trying to pick an argument with you or the others that I tagged
