It may be impart perspective. If a person is saved they will do good works but that is a result of their salvation and the Holy Spirit working with in them.
Exactly........again...if one can add to his salvation or embellish salvation---> it makes it based upon human merit and effort and gives man the right to boast.....It is as plain as day that ALL GLORY goes to GOD.....because it is ALL HIS WORK......end of story!

Christ saves us through faith based on the merits of His finished work of redemption "alone" and not by the merits of our works.

It is through faith "in Christ alone" (and not by the merits of our works) that we are justified on account of Christ (Romans 3:24; 5:1; 5:9); yet the faith that justifies is never alone (solitary, unfruitful, barren) if it is genuine (James 2:14-24).

James does not teach that we are saved by works. His concern is to show the reality of the faith professed by the individual (James 2:18) and demonstrate that the faith claimed (James 2:14) by the individual is genuine. Agreed?
Amen....the key to JAMES overlooked by all of those who trust into their works is the simple sayin....."SHOW ME YOUR FAITH"

Before God we are justified by FAITH (PAUL in ROMANS)
Before MEN our CLAIM of faith is JUSTIFIED or SEEN by our WORKS....

BUT WORKS have ZERO to do with GAINING or KEEPING salvation which is ETERNAL and based upon he WORK of CHRIST on our behalf due to our FAITH.....

There's a BIG difference between works getting salvation & works necessary to maintain salvation.
Actually there is ZERO difference

Because of works are required to MAINTAIN salvation, Then you were never truly saved to begin with. Thus you are continuing to work to GAIN salvation.

And we can just go to paul. Are you so FOOLISH having begun in the spirit (faith) are you now trying to perfect it with the flesh (works)

And there it is. Works to "maintain" salvation IS works for salvation.
Put him right with peter who said Christ work on the cross is not enough.

And there it is..... another calculated lie to boost oneself up by tearing another down..... Just like the one who "liked" it.

Maintaining comes after God saves us, not before.
Embrace it, you're not fooling anyone, except maybe yourself.

A car can run or not run.. how do you gauge the speed if it is? The speedometer.. likewise.. how can someone know if they are of the faith? Works produced... Glossing over works as a visual helps no one
Does not the bible call faith a work....and faith is also a gift...who is the Author and finisher of our FAITH....?

Remembering without ceasing your work of faith, and labour of love, and patience of hope in our Lord Jesus Christ, in the sight of God and our Father

There's a BIG difference between works getting salvation & works necessary to maintain salvation. The latter comes as a result of being changed & empowered by God. We can't boast of those, either.:)
How can one possibly maintain salvation through works. Either Jesus died for your sins or He didn't. Works may be a manifestation of one's salvation but cannot be the cause of it.

Teaching grace only, misleads.. that's all I'm combating
Where sin abounds....GRACE did much more abound.....the bible has a lot to say about grace........

In the GRACE you are, having been saved OUT OF FAITH and that NOT of YOURSELVES..it is the GIFT of GOD, NOT of works lest any man should boast.....

What is so confusing about that..........??

You maintain salvation by good works?

The Galatians were saved but they were attempting to live by the flesh and so they made the grace of God of no effect - not working - in their lives.

People are still saved ( as in going to heaven when they die because they are "in Christ" - the inner man in Christ is created in righteousness and holiness and is one spirit with the Lord ) even though they live by the flesh in some area.

All works of the flesh bring some sort of destruction to our lives while we are here on this earth. That's why it is vital to learn how to walk by the spirit.

Galatians 3:3 (NASB)
[SUP]3 [/SUP] Are you so foolish? Having begun by the Spirit, are you now being perfected by the flesh?

It's very easy to see the malice in people living by the flesh - we just need to read some posts.

How much work does one need to have before they can be saved? None!

How much work does one need to keep salvation? Wrong question - works is not what keeps you saved!
The whole point.....works do not save and or keep you saved.......now we are getting somewhere.....!

For a new person in the faith, how do they know they have it right? There are a multitude of teachings out here... I'm coming from my experience.. anyone is free to disagree and say I'm wrong if they choose... I've covered all my points.. take my whole concern into account then address what you think is wrong.. I can't get anywhere when one post is ripped on

No this is wrong,

Teaching WORKS misleads. Because it states one can make it to heaven on his own merit, and works and grace are not something you can mix.
Exactly what I thought....a gospel of a different kind with no power to save and double cursed by Paul in Galatians 1,3

Saved by faith but made complete by works.....<---a false gospel of a different kind with zero power to save and or keep saved ever.....!
