So,Paul lied? I quoted paul you removed his words
15 And count the patience of our Lord as salvation, just as our beloved brother Paul also wrote to you according to the wisdom given him, 16 as he does in all his letters when he speaks in them of these matters. There are some things in them that are hard to understand, which the ignorant and unstable twist to their own destruction, as they do the other Scriptures. 17 You therefore, beloved, knowing this beforehand, take care that you are not carried away with the error of lawless people and lose your own stability. 18 But grow in the grace and knowledge of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. To him be the glory both now and to the day of eternity. Amen.

2 Thessalonians 2 (ESV)

3 Let no one deceive you in any way. For that day will not come, unless the rebellion comes first, and the man of lawlessness is revealed, the son of destruction, 4 who opposes and exalts himself against every so-called god or object of worship, so that he takes his seat in the temple of God, proclaiming himself to be God.

What is the opposite of lawless people - people who do God's will and keep his commandments in obedience. The anti-Christ / anti-Messiah has a spirit of teaching lawlessness.

By grace. Whose faith - your faith, did you help? The justification / sanctification that comes after grace (from God), is works (from God) and faith (from God).
Eph 2 8 For by grace you have been saved through faith, and that not of yourselves; it is the gift of God, 9 not of works, lest anyone should boast.

go, ahead, remove Paul's words again

Just as the faith is not yours, the works is also not yours. If either one of them is absent.... ? :

Ephesians 2 (ESV)

10 For we are his workmanship, created in Christ Jesus for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

In verse 8, Paul takes faith as a gift from God and opposes it, with works from man self. Oppose faith as a gift from God, to works as a gift from God (as explained later in verse 10) - and it tells a different story.

Peter warned that Paul is difficult to understand, and warned that you should not fall for the trap of lawlessness.

Vs 8-9 not tell us how we are saved, that’s the just of this thread,
bs 10 is what happens after we are saved and is not applicable to this thread

ps, it is my trust in god. My faith, which was made possible only by Gods work in my life and drawing me to himself

James 2 (ESV)

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?
So you preach works. That’s good to know

People who have true faith have works because they look to god and by his power learn to love

When your in a justification preaching works. Your preaching legalism. Not from God man

Salvation is by GRACE. Works is the fruits of salvation - IF IT IS ABSENT, be warned - YOU ARE FOOLING YOURSELF. It's a chicken and egg situation, your GOD-GIVEN WORKS (if present) reflect your salvation by GRACE (if actualised), works of your own doing will never cause your salvation.

All I am warning is works, as a sign of one's fruits, will give you the indication of whether you have salvation by grace.

Look at the parable of the wedding feast - if God did not clothe you in the wedding clothes (his God-given works, that includes obeying his commandments), you will be thrown out. Would you like to be party to someone being thrown out of the wedding feast, by leading people astray, telling them they need not do anything after being saved by the rescuer, and need not be clothed in God's wedding gowns of righteous works?
The Lord clothes his own with righteousness when they come to Jesus. It is much like in the parable of the prodigal son how the son came to the father in desperation and the father accepted him fully and then had the servants put a robe on him, a ring on his hand and sandals on his feet and they celebrated his return. The son had not earned this from the father, but had just simply came to him. Even while the son was a far distance away, the father in the parable ran to meet him and embrace him.

No. I love gods commands

but that’s not what this thread is about

ask said, if you want to discuss sanctification open another thread

Deuteronomy 5 (KJV)

7 Thou shalt have none other gods before me. 8 Thou shalt not make thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the waters beneath the earth: 9 Thou shalt not bow down thyself unto them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me, 10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.

10 And shewing mercy unto thousands of them that love me and keep my commandments.
Jesus perfectly kept the Commandments in our stead. We are to be found in Him not having our own righteousness, but His. That is the essence of our walk of faith.

Do you not like what James said?

James 2 (ESV)

14 What good is it, my brothers, if someone says he has faith but does not have works? Can that faith save him?

Would you like what Jesus said here?:

Matthew 7 (ESV)

21 "Not everyone who says to me, 'Lord, Lord,' will enter the kingdom of heaven, but the one who does the will of my Father who is in heaven.

Paul also said:

Ephesians 2 (ESV)

8 For by grace you have been saved through faith. ... 10 ... for good works, which God prepared beforehand, that we should walk in them.

So, it is:

"BY GRACE"
"THROUGH FAITH"
"FOR WORKS"

Is is:

NOT BY FAITH
and
NOT BY WORKS

IT IS BY GRACE

Yeshua ha'Maschiach / Jesus the Messiah calls upon us to FOLLOW HIM, where we fall short, God's mercy is enough. He calls upon us to do the will of our Father in heaven, which is his commandments. Yeshua ha'Mashiach / Jesus the Messiah came to show us the way to walk our lives, and wrote God's commandments on our hearts to make it easy to follow.

That is a direct quote from scripture - and you disagree?
