repent means to change thinking,

when i I agree with God, and set my thinking with his to the point of saving faith I have repented

if. Agree that living s a sin, I have repented, if I go on lying I can not repent anymore, I already agree it is a sin.

i confess, admit my guilt and move on.
If repentance was simply changing the way we think, Jesus did not need to die then did he?

True, but we are still....susceptible to being tempted by sin. I know some here don't believe this, but this world IS satan's playground, he completely rules it.. he has full reign over all the evil and temptation that surrounds us..
I do not dismiss anything you have said here, but I will interject with this:

You are from God, blue, and have overcome them; because greater is He who is in you than he who is in the world.

Is very true that we are saved by faith but keep in mind that faith without works are dead. New Christians can sometimes believe that just hearing that by faith you're saved and that's all it takes that there's no reason to do any works. There is no reason to do any works but once a person has the spirit within them it will drive them to do good works. I don't want new Christians to believe that you can go out and continue to do whatever you want to do and then go to church the next day and then that night go do it again. Do you sort of see where I'm coming from? So faith without works is dead. I think that's in James

I don't know why anyone would deny that satan is the prince of the air. Our enemy is the world spirit, our own flesh, and the devil.

We can be tempted, true. Temptation comes from us wanting our own way in something. The Cross has struck a blow to this and we are dying daily. The scriptures say that Holy Spirit puts the axe to the tree. That is the tree of knowledge of good and evil, and then we begin eating of the tree of life, which is His body and blood. And that is His testimony...we learn of Him.

There is our overcoming and power to live a godly life. We have Holy Spirit within to show us Jesus...and we are changed...glory to glory.

I don't know if I answered you adequately but wrote what came. ;)

I just picked out anger. It could have been something else.

Lets look at anger

Ephesians 4:26-27
“Be angry, and do not sin”: do not let the sun go down on your wrath, nor give place to the devil.

I am not picking out a particular sin but was asking if we say we repent of something that we know is wrong but do it again then have we truly repented?

Trying also to bring out repentance and what it actually means to people
I believe to repent of Unforgiveness (which might be the root of a person's anger)means to forgive the person you are mad at, even if they never say they are sorry.
.it means to know that God forgave us even while sinners and we didn't deserve his love or grace but since he gives it to us, we are empowers to give love and grace to others.

Because they are enforcing the law. Jesus didn't come to judge the world but to free us from ourselves.
In order to reconcile us back to the Father.

It is finished, temple curtain torn it two.
We can come before the throne of God and say "Abba Father"
Further we know he is Abba Father, a loving Father who just wants to walk with us, be with us, help us.

we have had this discussion before. bro...you cannot claim to still be a sinner saved by grace and a sin-forgiven saint that still sins....this is an impossibility

This is being double minded and unstable in all your ways...before you get in a huff take it up with James 1.5-8

When we claim we are still a sinner, we put Jesus back on the cross....

Does God still view YOU stilla as a sinner or a sin-forgiven saint that still sins?

As much as this will get you upset, it has to be said...until you come into the reality of your true identity in Christ, you will never grow....you are saved, you will go to heaven, but you will never grow spiritually and be in victory today....and continue to struggle and continue you wondering why others get a breakthrough and you never do.

God did not call you to take his free gift then tell continue to tell everyone what a sinner you still are....God expects you to grow up spiritually and begin overcoming now....

I think you personally are in deep confusion over true identity in Christ, because you do not want to even do anything that might be perceived as you working to obtain anything from God, especially salvation....

We do not work good works to maintain salvation, we do not walk in victory now because of fear of losing salvation, we do not work at anything regarding God....

WE RECEIVE ALL THE BENEFITS, SALVATION BRINGS!

Which includes understanding I am no longer a sinner saved by grace, but a sin-forgiven saint that still sins...

Sinner is past, not present or future....even when we still sin, which we all do...

If you ever get this revelation from the Holy Spirit you will be forever changed...
Yeah we are no longer sinners but sin-forgiven saints learning from our dad how to overcome sin and the world day by day.

Trying to learn everyone's theology can be so confusing.

If a saint NT needs to be convicted of sin, As if they think they are not sinning, I seriously question if they are saved.
This is not what I said or what John 16.8 says...stop being so double minded you are trapping yourself into being scared to do anything for God, because you fear you will be accused of engaging in personal works based salvation or promoting your own self-righteousness....

I am going to be as nice as possible and not burn pies here EG.

You are so stuck on the hatred you have for works based salvation and self-righteousness that you are swinging the other way and have no real solid rock, accept...yep I am a sinner, but saved...

The concern I have for you is this.....

Why are you working so hard to convince people that you are saved and still sin?

The best part of salvation is the rest it provides...

First why are they repenting of anger?

Anger is not a sin. Unforgiveness is.
quite correct here...anger is a work of the flesh, not a sin, unless it leads you to doing something the Holy Spirit told you not to do...

Read thru the thread...NO ONE pushes what you imply.....faith and faith ALONE saves....end of story....any works or fruit are the result of the faith and salvation one already possesses in Christ.......the entire context of JAMES is our FAITH being seen by MEN....SHOW ME YOUR FAITH......PAUL was also equally clear....

We concluded that a man is justified (before GOD) by FAITH void of works....

I want to reiterate...NO ONE IS SAYING live like you want and or NEVER do anything for GOD........

how can a person be saved if they are convinced they d not sin.
Specific sins EG...specific sins.

God reveals, reproved and shows us in our lives specific sins He wants us to overcome for His glory.

For example, Unforgiveness is a sin. God shows us how we are acting hateful and mean towards someone based on the hidden sin of never having forgave them for something hurtful they did years ago. God heals us of this hurt and helps us to forgive. When we forgive we let go of anger and bitterness and can love them. They may ask why the change and then we can testify that God has moved us to forgive them and show His love to them in an honest and heartfelt way. This can caus them to be healed and drawn to a God powerful enough and loving enough to bring forgiveness and healing in their relationship with you,

The Holy spirit never convicts believers as sinners. That is a lie of Satan. He shows us specific sins in our lives and how we can heal and overcome them.

AMEN.....and still trying to see the difference in the following.......both are equally true....so..........

a sinner saved by grace, but a sin-forgiven saint that still sins...
The first is dead and hoping for salvation by grace.

.the second has been born again and learning how to become sanctified and live a godly life by the Holy spirit leading.
