I started this threat June 10th, 2016. Lots of people criticized and made fun of my opinion that Patriotism is DYING in America.

CAN YOU HEAR ME NOW?

As a Veteran, I deeply feel every single one of those football players personally insulted me and my service to my Country, and they equally insulted all of us Veterans.

The flag does not stand for President Donald Trump. IT STANDS FOR EVERY VETERAN THAT HAS EVER SERVED.

THE RED STRIPES STAND FOR THE BLOOD SHED SERVING OUR COUNTRY.

THE WHITE STRIPES STAND FOR THE BANDAGES OF THOSE WOUNDED.

THE BLUE FIELD STANDS FOR THE FIELD OF HONOR THEY SERVED ON.

THE STARS STAND FOR THE STATES THAT OUR VETERANS CALL HOME.

RESPECT IS EARNED, AND FREEDOM IS NOT FREE.

MAY THE FOOTBALL PLAYERS GET THE DISRESPECT THEY DESERVE.

THIS IS WHAT THEY DISRESPECTED:

[video=youtube;RO6yC-BmLBE]https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RO6yC-BmLBE[/video]

How dare they show disrespect for the FLAG.

I have to wonder if those football players ever saw these pictures:

I think those Football Players should spend every minute of their off season going to homes of the families who Lost their Hero while serving under OUR FLAG. I repeat THE FLAG is not President Trump's flag. IT IS THE FLAG OF VETERANS, ESPECIALLY THOSE WHO MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE.

I'm not against patriotism but it has nothing to do with the Bible or biblical standards

So you think, let me prove you wrong with Scripture:

Romans 13:1-10 (HCSB)
[SUP]1 [/SUP] Everyone must submit to the governing authorities, for there is no authority except from God, and those that exist are instituted by God.
[SUP]2 [/SUP] So then, the one who resists the authority is opposing God’s command, and those who oppose it will bring judgment on themselves.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For rulers are not a terror to good conduct, but to bad. Do you want to be unafraid of the authority? Do what is good, and you will have its approval.
[SUP]4 [/SUP] For government is God’s servant for your good. But if you do wrong, be afraid, because it does not carry the sword for no reason. For government is God’s servant, an avenger that brings wrath on the one who does wrong.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] Therefore, you must submit, not only because of wrath, but also because of your conscience.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] And for this reason you pay taxes, since the ⌊authorities⌋ are God’s public servants, continually attending to these tasks.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] Pay your obligations to everyone: taxes to those you owe taxes, tolls to those you owe tolls, respect to those you owe respect, and honor to those you owe honor.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Do not owe anyone anything, except to love one another, for the one who loves another has fulfilled the law.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] The commandments: Do not commit adultery; do not murder; do not steal; do not covet; and whatever other commandment—all are summed up by this: Love your neighbor as yourself.
[SUP]10 [/SUP] Love does no wrong to a neighbor. Love, therefore, is the fulfillment of the law.

THAT IS PATRIOTISM: We were TAUGHT IN Military Basic Training that you RESPECT THE POSITION, even when you do not like the Person in that Position. When the Commander in Chief they play the song here in the USA, "Hail to the Chief". All Military are to come to Attention BEFORE the 5th note; even if they do not personally like who is President. I got out of the USAF in Dec 1972. I still come to ATTENTION every time I hear "HAIL TO THE CHIEF" being played, even when I am alone in my Living Room, no matter WHO is the President. YES that means I did stand at attention every time for President Obama, even though I think he was the WORST President we ever had. I STAND AND HONOR THE POSITION EVERY TIME. IT IS GOD'S WILL.

1 Peter 2:13-17 (NKJV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme,
[SUP]14 [/SUP] or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] For this is the will of God, that by doing good you may put to silence the ignorance of foolish men--
[SUP]16 [/SUP] as free, yet not using liberty as a cloak for vice, but as bondservants of God.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Honor all people. Love the brotherhood. Fear God. Honor the king.

THAT IS PATRIOTISM: We were TAUGHT IN Military Basic Training and in GRADE SCHOOL what the Proper Etiquette towards Our FLAG IS. Our School Teachers did a great disservice to GOD and County when they Stopped doing that. THE FOLLOWING IS THE ORDINANCE OF MAN THAT GOVERNS THE PROPER ETIQUETTE TOWARDS THE U.S. FLAG. EVERY SINGLE PERSON WHO WILLFULLY SHOWS DISRESPECT FOR THE FLAG SINS AGAINST THE WILL OF GOD.

Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, . . .

For this is the will of God

[h=2]Flag Etiquette[/h] STANDARDS of RESPECT The Flag Code, which formalizes and unifies the traditional ways in which we give respect to the flag, also contains specific instructions on how the flag is not to be used. They are:

  • The flag should never be dipped to any person or thing. It is flown upside down only as a distress signal.
  • The flag should not be used as a drapery, or for covering a speakers desk, draping a platform, or for any decoration in general. Bunting of blue, white and red stripes is available for these purposes. The blue stripe of the bunting should be on the top.
  • The flag should never be used for any advertising purpose. It should not be embroidered, printed or otherwise impressed on such articles as cushions, handkerchiefs, napkins, boxes, or anything intended to be discarded after temporary use. Advertising signs should not be attached to the staff or halyard
  • The flag should not be used as part of a costume or athletic uniform, except that a flag patch may be used on the uniform of military personnel, fireman, policeman and members of patriotic organizations.
  • The flag should never have placed on it, or attached to it, any mark, insignia, letter, word, number, figure, or drawing of any kind.
  • The flag should never be used as a receptacle for receiving, holding, carrying, or delivering anything.
When the flag is lowered, no part of it should touch the ground or any other object; it should be received by waiting hands and arms. To store the flag it should be folded neatly and ceremoniously.

The flag should be cleaned and mended when necessary.
When a flag is so worn it is no longer fit to serve as a symbol of our country, it should be destroyed by burning in a dignified manner.

Note: Most American Legion Posts regularly conduct a dignified flag burning ceremony, often on Flag Day, June 14th. Many Cub Scout Packs, Boy Scout Troops, and Girl Scout Troops retire flags regularly as well. Contact your local American Legion Hall or Scout Troop to inquire about the availability of this service.

Displaying the Flag Outdoors When the flag is displayed from a staff projecting from a window, balcony, or a building, the union should be at the peak of the staff unless the flag is at half staff.
When it is displayed from the same flagpole with another flag - of a state, community, society or Scout unit - the flag of the United States must always be at the top except that the church pennant may be flown above the flag during church services for Navy personnel when conducted by a Naval chaplain on a ship at sea.
When the flag is displayed over a street, it should be hung vertically, with the union to the north or east. If the flag is suspended over a sidewalk, the flag's union should be farthest from the building.
When flown with flags of states, communities, or societies on separate flag poles which are of the same height and in a straight line, the flag of the United States is always placed in the position of honor - to its own right.
..The other flags may be smaller but none may be larger.
..No other flag ever should be placed above it.
..The flag of the United States is always the first flag raised and the last to be lowered.

When flown with the national banner of other countries, each flag must be displayed from a separate pole of the same height. Each flag should be the same size. They should be raised and lowered simultaneously. The flag of one nation may not be displayed above that of another nation.

Raising and Lowering the Flag The flag should be raised briskly and lowered slowly and ceremoniously. Ordinarily it should be displayed only between sunrise and sunset. It should be illuminated if displayed at night.
The flag of the United States of America is saluted as it is hoisted and lowered. The salute is held until the flag is unsnapped from the halyard or through the last note of music, whichever is the longest.

Displaying the Flag Indoors When on display, the flag is accorded the place of honor, always positioned to its own right. Place it to the right of the speaker or staging area or sanctuary. Other flags should be to the left.

The flag of the United States of America should be at the center and at the highest point of the group when a number of flags of states, localities, or societies are grouped for display.
When one flag is used with the flag of the United States of America and the staffs are crossed, the flag of the United States is placed on its own right with its staff in front of the other flag.
When displaying the flag against a wall, vertically or horizontally, the flag's union (stars) should be at the top, to the flag's own right, and to the observer's left.

Parading and Saluting the Flag When carried in a procession, the flag should be to the right of the marchers. When other flags are carried, the flag of the United States may be centered in front of the others or carried to their right. When the flag passes in a procession, or when it is hoisted or lowered, all should face the flag and salute.

The Salute To salute, all persons come to attention. Those in uniform give the appropriate formal salute. Citizens not in uniform salute by placing their right hand over the heart and men with head cover should remove it and hold it to left shoulder, hand over the heart. Members of organizations in formation salute upon command of the person in charge.
The Pledge of Allegiance and National Anthem The pledge of allegiance should be rendered by standing at attention, facing the flag, and saluting.
When the national anthem is played or sung, citizens should stand at attention and salute at the first note and hold the salute through the last note. The salute is directed to the flag, if displayed, otherwise to the music.

The Flag in Mourning To place the flag at half staff, hoist it to the peak for an instant and lower it to a position half way between the top and bottom of the staff. The flag is to be raised again to the peak for a moment before it is lowered. On Memorial Day the flag is displayed at half staff until noon and at full staff from noon to sunset.
The flag is to be flown at half staff in mourning for designated, principal government leaders and upon presidential or gubernatorial order.
When used to cover a casket, the flag should be placed with the union at the head and over the left shoulder. It should not be lowered into the grave.

Every single one of those Football Players that took a knee during the National Anthem and ANYONE ELSE who disrespects the FLAG in any way, SINNED AGAINST GOD's WILL, 1 Peter 2:13-17 (NKJV).

I do not think that patriotism is wrong as such.

But it is not good to be so obsessed by it, I think.

We are not of this world and our citizenship is in heavens, not in USA or in EU or in Brasil.

We are eternal beings, you will be billions and billions years old, why to be so obsessed with some 200 years old political construction?

I appreciate your response, and I too think GOD is our Primary Allegiance, however our allegiance to Country is important too, because it is clearly HIS WILL (see 1 Peter 2:13-17 and Romans 13:1-10 above). The only exception that I know of, is when they ordering you to VIOLATE God's Law, such as when CHINA passed that Law mandating that all women get abortions after their first child.

Do you think it is normal for Veterans who have served in their Country's Military, are by nature of their Service to their Country, more Patriotic than those who have never been in the Military?

1. I think that those Scriptures talk only about obedience to local authorities and laws. Not about loving them or about making allegiances, vowes, about being fascinated by them, about kissing flags etc.

2. I do not know, I do not divide people according to whether they were in military, security forces, police, government etc or not. It may be because I am from a post-communist country where such institutions have a bad name. But still, I think we are not suppose to fill our life with this...

Do you KNOW GOD the Father and GOD the SON show Patriotism for ISRAEL?

Isaiah 51:4-5 (NKJV)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] "Listen to Me, My people; And give ear to Me, O My nation: For law will proceed from Me, And I will make My justice rest As a light of the peoples.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] My righteousness is near, My salvation has gone forth, And My arms will judge the peoples; The coastlands will wait upon Me, And on My arm they will trust.

Joel 1:6 (NKJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] For a nation has come up against My land, Strong, and without number; His teeth are the teeth of a lion, And he has the fangs of a fierce lion.

Zephaniah 2:9 (ESV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Therefore, as I live,” declares the LORD of hosts, the God of Israel, “Moab shall become like Sodom, and the Ammonites like Gomorrah, a land possessed by nettles and salt pits, and a waste forever. The remnant of my people shall plunder them, and the survivors of my nation shall possess them.

1 Kings 10:9 (NCV)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Praise the LORD your God, who was pleased to make you king of Israel. The LORD has constant love for Israel, so he made you king to keep justice and to rule fairly.“

Not sure you like that TRASLATION? Then here is another one:

1 Kings 10:9 (HCSB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] May Yahweh your God be praised! He delighted in you and put you on the throne of Israel, because of the LORD’s eternal love for Israel. He has made you king to carry out justice and righteousness.”

Zephaniah 3:11-20 (HCSB)
[SUP]11 [/SUP] On that day you will not be put to shame because of everything you have done in rebelling against Me. For then I will remove your proud, arrogant people from among you, and you will never again be haughty on My holy mountain.
[SUP]12 [/SUP] I will leave a meek and humble people among you, and they will take refuge in the name of Yahweh.
[SUP]13 [/SUP] The remnant of Israel will no longer do wrong or tell lies; a deceitful tongue will not be found in their mouths. But they will pasture and lie down, with nothing to make ⌊them⌋ afraid.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] Sing for joy, Daughter Zion; shout loudly, Israel! Be glad and rejoice with all ⌊your⌋ heart, Daughter Jerusalem!
[SUP]15 [/SUP] The LORD has removed your punishment; He has turned back your enemy. The King of Israel, Yahweh, is among you; you need no longer fear harm.
[SUP]16 [/SUP] On that day it will be said to Jerusalem: “Do not fear; Zion, do not let your hands grow weak.
[SUP]17 [/SUP] Yahweh your God is among you, a warrior who saves. He will rejoice over you with gladness. He will bring ⌊you⌋ quietness with His love. He will delight in you with shouts of joy.
[SUP]18 [/SUP] I will gather those who have been driven from the appointed festivals; ⌊they will be⌋ a tribute from you and a reproach ⌊on her⌋.
[SUP]19 [/SUP] Yes, at that time I will deal with all who afflict you. I will save the lame and gather the scattered; I will make those who were disgraced throughout the earth receive praise and fame.
[SUP]20 [/SUP] At that time I will bring you back, yes, at the time I will gather you. I will give you fame and praise among all the peoples of the earth, when I restore your fortunes before your eyes. Yahweh has spoken.

Matthew 15:24 (ESV)
[SUP]24 [/SUP] He answered, “I was sent only to the lost sheep of the house of Israel.”

Matthew 23:37 (NCV)
[SUP]37 [/SUP]

“Jerusalem, Jerusalem! You kill the prophets and stone to death those who are sent to you. Many times I wanted to gather your people as a hen gathers her chicks under her wings, but you did not let me.

Sounds LIKE PATRIOTISM TO ME.

I do not know about your Country, but here we have a written CODE about Etiquette towards the Flag and National Anthem. I believe that GOD would consider that to be the same as an Ordinance of Man.

1 Peter 2:13-16 (NKJV)
[SUP]13 [/SUP] Therefore submit yourselves to every ordinance of man for the Lord's sake, whether to the king as supreme,
[SUP]14 [/SUP] or to governors, as to those who are sent by him for the punishment of evildoers and for the praise of those who do good.

I believe HE answered the WHY in the first verse. It is to PRESERVE the Reputation of Our LORD, among the Unbelievers, so as to NOT give them a legitimate reason to slander our Witness. The words in Red are WHY we are to do it.

I think it also falls under the heading of:

Matthew 22:21-22 (ESV)
[SUP]21 . . .[/SUP] Therefore render to Caesar the things that are Caesar’s, and to God the things that are God’s.”
[SUP]22 [/SUP] When they heard it, they marveled. And they left him and went away.

So why should we?

I do not think it is a sin unto Death, but an act of disobedience just the same, that will cost us some of our heavenly reward. I think that kind of sin, is the same as breaking the speed limit, and in BOTH instances it CAUSES UNBELIEVERS TO SLANDER CHRISTIANS AND CHRIST.

When an unbeliever sees a Christian disrepecting flag or SPEEDING past them with a Christian bumper sticker, are they not likely to say, "LOOK AT THAT HOLIER THAN THOU CHRISTIAN PIECE OF &%$#." Are we not then personally responsible for that verbal insult hurled towards our LORD in the form of those curse words coming out of that unbeliever's mouth?

If this Car blew by, at 67 mph, past an unbeliever doing the 55 mph Speed Limit, what would the Unbeliever think or say?

OR

If that man standing is an UNBELIEVER that is a Veteran, and he KNOWS the People to his left Claim to be CHRISTIANS, "What do you suppose he is thinking?" Would we not be responsible in some way for his sinful thoughts?

Same here. Too bad those days are but fond memories now.

I believe this nation is too far gone. I believe we are now under the curse of God for allowing:

Our leaders to turn their backs on Israel.

The murder of millions of our children via abortion.

The acceptance of the homosexual agenda.

Pornography and perversity to be taught to our children in school, and via mass media.

The destruction of our Christian heritage.

Etc., and etc.

Good post, btw.
Totally agree.....any who think this nation is above being judged and burnt to the ground by God has not studied the word.......we are on the fast track to our own demise....

"There shall be wars and rumors of wars but these things have to happen" it's no shocker that people are being disrespectful to veterans, going about their protests wrong, and starting to attempt to divide our nation hiding behind that they are supposedly uniting our "already" united nation, people will always find some way to "try to change things" over time for the sake of rebellion or simply no reason out of boredom in order to inspire change even in ignorance,I respect Veterans as well as what the national anthem and the American flag "stands for"(Unity of our states and battles that were fought for our freedom so that we could have "luxuries" like football instead of having to be at war)at this point this "kneeling" thing" is intentionally ill timed and could be used for protest of police brutality(as is the supposed intent)like right outside the stadium"before" entering the stadium so as to be more "clear" concerning their protest, common sense goes a long way,if these football players find this to be such a strong thing to protest they can do this at "an appropriate time and location" I'm sure then people would "respect their protests"!

Ezekiel 24:7-9 (KJV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] For her blood is in the midst of her; she set it upon the top of a rock; she poured it not upon the ground, to cover it with dust;
[SUP]8 [/SUP] That it might cause fury to come up to take vengeance; I have set her blood upon the top of a rock, that it should not be covered.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] Therefore thus saith the Lord GOD; Woe to the bloody city! I will even make the pile for fire great.

Revelation 18:7-19 (ASV)
[SUP]7 [/SUP] How much soever she glorified herself, and waxed wanton, so much give her of torment and mourning: for she saith in her heart, I sit a queen, and am no widow, and shall in no wise see mourning.
[SUP]8 [/SUP] Therefore in one day shall her plagues come, death, and mourning, and famine; and she shall be utterly burned with fire; for strong is the Lord God who judged her.
[SUP]9 [/SUP] And the kings of the earth, who committed fornication and lived wantonly with her, shall weep and wail over her, when they look upon the smoke of her burning,
[SUP]10 [/SUP] standing afar off for the fear of her torment, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, Babylon, the strong city! for in one hour is thy judgment come.
[SUP]11 [/SUP] And the merchants of the earth weep and mourn over her, for no man buyeth their merchandise any more;
[SUP]12 [/SUP] merchandise of gold, and silver, and precious stone, and pearls, and fine linen, and purple, and silk, and scarlet; and all thyine wood, and every vessel of ivory, and every vessel made of most precious wood, and of brass, and iron, and marble;
[SUP]13 [/SUP] and cinnamon, and spice, and incense, and ointment, and frankincense, and wine, and oil, and fine flour, and wheat, and cattle, and sheep; and merchandise of horses and chariots and slaves; and souls of men.
[SUP]14 [/SUP] And the fruits which thy soul lusted after are gone from thee, and all things that were dainty and sumptuous are perished from thee, and men shall find them no more at all.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] The merchants of these things, who were made rich by her, shall stand afar off for the fear of her torment, weeping and mourning;
[SUP]16 [/SUP] saying, Woe, woe, the great city, she that was arrayed in fine linen and purple and scarlet, and decked with gold and precious stone and pearl!
[SUP]17 [/SUP] for in an hour so great riches is made desolate. And every shipmaster, and every one that saileth any wither, and mariners, and as many as gain their living by sea, stood afar off,
[SUP]18 [/SUP] and cried out as they looked upon the smoke of her burning, saying, What city is like the great city?
[SUP]19 [/SUP] And they cast dust on their heads, and cried, weeping and mourning, saying, Woe, woe, the great city, wherein all that had their ships in the sea were made rich by reason of her costliness! for in one hour is she made desolate.

I know, how much more innocent blood will be spilled via abortions of the Pro Choice Movent, and other EVILS, before GOD says, "ENOUGH!", and allows this to happen:

i love my country. i also love israel.

as big uce VCO said its a nice testimony.

God wants nations to stay independent i believe it

Acts 17:26 And hath made of one blood all nations of men for to dwell on all the face of the earth, and hath determined the times before appointed, and the bounds of their habitation;

i believe its the devil who wants all the countries to come together and make a one world religion, state, economy, everything.
