Since I have known him he has been an advocate of seeking to the Lord and God revealing the scripture to them

We know this is just persona attacks, every post posted with scripture ends up personal attacks against him

I even know where that comes from, its not special knowledge the scriptures reveal who that is from as well
I assume you have no problem with him saying he "comes in the name of the Lord"?

I'm going to call you on it now, brother. Only Jesus -- Messiah -- is said to "come in the name of the Lord." No one else.

Yet you have claimed this mantle for yourself. How do you explain such arrogance? Or, if you have a passage that will support your making this claim, post it, and I will apologize.
Oh for goodness sakes, did you even try to look? John 14:26
But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.

Those whom the Lord has anointed by His Holy Spirit and sent into the world, come in Jesus' name. :)

I have been given gift by the anointing of the Holy Spirit, and it is the Spirit of wisdom and understanding which was given to me by the Lord. I do not proclaim this gift as my own wisdom, but what it is, it is of the Lord. It is given me to edify the Body of Christ, but people have rejected it. And even saying I have received this gift from the Lord will cause me to be ridiculed and mocked. But I know that the Lord is with me, as was the Father with Jesus when he was mocked and ridiculed by those who understood not. :)
It's all clear to me now...I see you... standing on your soapbox, dresses in burlap, no doubt you envision yourself as a modern day John the Baptist.

Newsflash!!!!!!!!!!

You aren't.

The verse does not teach that. What it teaches is that the Spirit, when sent, brought to the apostles the ability to teach the Gospel and bring to remembrance for them all the things that transpired during His Earthly ministry. There is nothing about all believers, implied or specific, included in that verse.

Claiming it teaches words that aren't even there -- "comes in the name of the Lord" -- stretches Scripture far beyond reason as to actually flirt with blasphemy. Or have you forgotten warnings in both the Old Testament and the New about "adding to" these words?

You've proven yourself biblically illiterate with this post. But I'll give you an opportunity to prove what you say here exegetically. Go for it.

You can assume whatever you like VW, it wouldnt matter how I would answer anyway you only ask to trap others and not sincerely, I dont believe you, and I didnt enter this thread to discuss InSpiritInTruth and all of your questions on him, I came on because its a decent thread and I had something I thought could contribute to it.

I am in BDB, but apparently this place is a little confused between discussing the topic or discussing the person, and always far more interested in discussing persons then anything concerning the scriptures.

Assume what you want

If asking questions that point people to truth, to get them to ask questions they need to ask, instead of simply swallowing the lies and blasphemies of others is "a trap," then I am guilty. But you, my friend, are the one trapped, with the nonsense ISIT and his buddies ensnare you with.

Why don't you read that last post I made to him, and use the Holy Spirit's guidance to see if what he said made sense, or if what I said made sense? Don't be swept up in emotion. Seek the truth!

Yes those words, "comes in the name of the Lord," is not in that scripture from John 14:26.

However John 14:26 was not just for the Apostles, as that was for all believers because we all receive the Holy Spirit who will guide us in all truth. The catch is if you listen to that guidance or continue to do your own thing. The bible makes it clear that believers do have freewill to chose to obey or not, as you can not grieve, deny, and blasphemy against what you do not have.

Only believers who have the Holy Spirit in them can grieve Him by committing a sin instead of listening to His guidance....

Luke 3: Every valley shall be filled
And every mountain and hill brought low;
The crooked places shall be made straight
And the rough ways smooth;
[SUP]6 [/SUP]And all flesh shall see the salvation of God.

Purely speaking of the return of Christ, when all flesh shall see his salvation.
Actually, this prophecy was attributed to the ministry of John the Baptist who was the forerunner of Jesus Christ and you're totally missing the metaphoric language employed here. This might help:

Luke 3 Cambridge Bible for Schools and Colleges

Every valley shall be filled, and every mountain and hill shall be brought low; and the crooked shall be made straight, and the rough ways shall be made smooth;

5. Every valley, &c.] The metaphor is derived from pioneers who go before the march of a king. There is a remarkable parallel in Josephus (B. J. iii. 6, § 2), where he is describing the march of Vespasian, and says that among his vanguard were “such as were to make the road even and straight, and if it were anywhere rough and hard to be passed over, to plane it, and to cut down the woods that hindered their march (comp. prokoptein = ‘to advance’ in Luke 2:52), that the army might not be tired.” The Jews fabled that the Pillar of Cloud and Fire in the desert smoothed the mountains and filled the valleys before them. Tanchuma, f. 70, 3 on Numbers 20:22.

Every valley shall be filled, &c.] i. e. the humble and meek shall be exalted, and the mighty put down. Compare Isaiah 2:12-15, “The day of the Lord of hosts shall be upon every one that is proud and lofty, and upon every one that is lifted up, and he shall be brought low.… And upon all the high mountains, &c.” Zechariah 4:7, “Who art thou, O great mountain? Before Zerubbabel thou shalt become a plain.”

In the same manner in which an approaching king would send others before him to prepare his way, John the Baptist was sent by God ahead of Christ to prepare his way by calling the proud to repentance, thereby metaphorically bringing low every high mountain and hill. That high mountains and hills won't literally be leveled at Christ's second coming ought to be obvious in that Isaiah also said:

Isaiah chapter 2 verses 1 thru 4

The word that Isaiah the son of Amoz saw concerning Judah and Jerusalem.
And it shall come to pass in the last days, that the mountain of the LORD's house shall be established in the top of the mountains, and shall be exalted above the hills; and all nations shall flow unto it.
And many people shall go and say, Come ye, and let us go up to the mountain of the LORD, to the house of the God of Jacob; and he will teach us of his ways, and we will walk in his paths: for out of Zion shall go forth the law, and the word of the LORD from Jerusalem.
And he shall judge among the nations, and shall rebuke many people: and they shall beat their swords into plowshares, and their spears into pruninghooks: nation shall not lift up sword against nation, neither shall they learn war any more.

When Christ returns to rule over this earth from Mount Zion, there will most definitely still be literal mountains and hills upon this earth. The OP was correct in his interpretation of this passage.

You can believe that if you wish, Ken, but it is not true. The Holy Spirit is given all believers, but in the context of v. 14, the things He brings can only be meant for the apostles.

It is talking about giving them "all knowledge" which became the New Testament. It is talking about "bringing to remembrance" all that Jesus said to "you" -- meaning whom? Not us. Only the apostles. You have to read in context to fully understand, and you, ISIT, and others apparently can't make the proper distinction because you do not study carefully.

If you don't understand the symbolism of the mountains and the valleys in connection with the proud being lifted up in pride and then to be brought down by the Lord. Or the humble being the lowly like a valley, to later be exalted by the Lord, even though I posted a great number of scriptures representing the same, then that's OK. Not all have eyes to see with, or ears to hear what the Spirit is saying there.

But there's no need to get so angry because anger and pride will hinder you from seeing the connection. :)
Another ignorant statement ISIT.......MATTHEW identifies the verse in ISAIAH and APPLYS IT UNDER INSPIRATION to JESUS and JOHN the BAPTIST...get over the fact that NOT EVERYTHING in the bible is symbolic and or spiritualized away to some corner slice.....and I will repeat....I am not angry slice!

Oh poor guy. He's just misunderstood. He is so humble and caring towards other believers in all his threads and posts.
Listen to him...all his claims to being anointed and in the name of the Lord and blah blah blah.....his very words condemn him as one who is not of God......many will come claiming to be anointed....we know exactly who they are of and it is not JESUS

I beg to differ but he presents himself as having special knowledge, God reveals scripture to ALL who seek and gives understanding to His children. What loving Father would not???

Amen to that..to me his brag and boast of being enlightened, of the Lord, anointed etc. are all proofs that he is not of God.....many will come boasting of their special anointing....they are not of Jesus....

Parallel verse to John 14:26

James 1:2-8

2My brethren, count it all joy when you fall into various trials, 3knowing that the testing of your faith produces patience. 4But let patience have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking nothing. 5If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach, and it will be given to him.6But let him ask in faith, with no doubting, for he who doubts is like a wave of the sea driven and tossed by the wind. 7For let not that man suppose that he will receive anything from the Lord; 8he is a double-minded man, unstable in all his ways.

Never has a thing to do with your post they dont care about that but attacking your person, that has become rather plain, even to those from other sites watching in on here now

Makes for a great demonstration to that effect
Nothing more than a lie here....many have pointed out his posts and the out of context character of them so...not only are u supporting one who has claimed his own special anointing, but now you are lying for him!

Has everything to do with his POST....

Yeah that is what I would do....(not)....take scripture that is contextually applied to the coming of Jesus at his 1st coming and apply it to a post about pride......!
