Love never fails; but if there are gifts of prophecy, they will be done away; if there are tongues, they will cease; if there is knowledge, it will be done away. For we know in part, and we prophesy in part; but when the perfect comes, the partial will be done away. When I was a child, I used to speak as a child, think as a child, reason as a child; when I became a man, I did away with childish things. For now we see in a mirror dimly, then then face to face; now I know in part, but then I shall know fully just as I also have been fully known. But now abide faith, hope, love, these three, but the greatest of these is love.

I will tell you the truth, if anyone believes that this references scripture, then they have denied Jesus Christ and His return to bring perfection to creation. If anyone believes that this refers to scripture, they have claimed to know fully, in perfection, without possibility of error. If anyone believes that this refers to scripture, they are false, and have raised up an idol against the knowledge of God.
Thanks for proving my point VW.

It does not say when the one who is perfect. or when you are made perfect. It says "THAT WHICH IS PERFECT.

The thing which is perfect has come. It has been with us for 2000- years now. Unless you do not think Gods word is perfect. Which I am guesing you do not. For you do not even think it is complete. and we need to add to his word.

childhood versus maturity in Christ?

Philippians 3:12-15
New King James Version (NKJV)

12 Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13 Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14 I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
15 Therefore let us, as many as are mature, have this mind; and if in anything you think otherwise, God will reveal even this to you.

how does one know fully as one is known?

Sorry I'm inclined to believe most everyone in this world only knows in part even when it concerns their own hearts and lives.

Are you claiming to know fully?

Which means that the perfect is not yet come.

This doctrine has caused more people to deny the Holy Spirit and His work in us than any other doctrine ever to come about. It is a disaster to the body of Christ.

yes but so has kundlani spirits and false teachers, apostles and prophets who lead people to worship them, their signs and wonders and away from Jesus and their own personal relationship with Christ for themselves and not through the medium of a pastor, prophet, apostle or teacher

Instead they should teach true repentance from sin, complete submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, His death on the cross for the remission of sins, True faith in God and the indwelling Holy Spirit which seals and TEACHES all believers until the day of Judgement.

but how can those who never known true Freedom of Salvation and the True Gospel begin to plant seeds of life into the lives of others?

Philippians 1:18
What then? Only that in every way, whether in pretense or in truth, Christ is preached; and in this I rejoice, yes, and will rejoice.

Yes, all of those things are evil. They are of the devil.

But this doctrine is so destructive because it replaces the Spirit and His work in us and in the world with scripture.

Each part of the Godhead has a place in the plan of redemption, but we must know that the Godhead is the Father and the Son and the Holy Spirit, who are all One.

If I am to plant a seed, then it must be a spiritual seed, actually, it must be a seed from the Holy Spirit, if there is to be any life ever to come to the one hearing.

I believed once, with all of my heart, that I was free and saved and a partaker of eternal life. What I found was that I had a religion, not life. And that religion was based upon scripture, and my faith in what it said. (Now I am not saying that this is not able to bring one to salvation, but many times it will leave one in a defeated life, because they never find the power of life that is God the Spirit.) I was confronted in my faith and shown just how displeasing it was to God. From that very moment, I was changed by the power of God, and I trust in His power and His life and His knowledge and His wisdom and His truth. Not mine, His.

The simple fact is that if anyone believes that the perfect has already come, then they are confessing that they know now just as they are known. That belief equates to knowing as much as God. And from the basis of this belief, they are able to judge all things and everyone, without remorse or care. And from this unassailable position, they stand on their deception. And if anyone disagrees with them, they are false and liars and deceived.

Truly, knowledge puffs up. Arrogance is the beginning of the fall into sin against God. Not acts of sin, but sin of the heart, where one raises themselves up on the same plan as God.

Sound familiar?

I am sorry, I just reread your first sentence, and I am very disturbed at what you say here. You do not have your relationship with Jesus through anyone, it is with Jesus Christ period. There is no other priest who is a go between for you to Jesus, and Jesus is the mediator between you and the Father. Are you really sure that you wish to believe this way?

Maybe I am misunderstanding what you are saying.

believe what way? I was stating people should not look to a priest or pastor but towards God alone....kind of what I said in my second statement?

1st statement: speaking against practices you see in some churches because you can have both extremes and neither are of God...

2nd statement: affirming what should be taught.... "they should teach true repentance from sin, complete submission to the Lordship of Jesus Christ, His death on the cross for the remission of sins, True faith in God and the indwelling Holy Spirit which seals and TEACHES all believers until the day of Judgement. I did say that I thought I had misunderstood.

I did not mean to give offense!

I would add to your statement that we also need to understand the place of His cross in our own lives, and His resurrection. Repentance is the beginning of salvation, the cross is the middle of salvation, and His resurrection is the end. When we become joined to Him in spiritual fact, and die with Him, then come alive in Him, in His resurrection, then it is that all things become new.
