Psalmist, "I will bless the Lord at all times: His praise shall continually be in my mouth" (Psalm 34:1).
Also, what does the Bible mean by "blessing"?

Psa 34:14 Depart from evil, and do good (Romans 7:12); seek peace, and pursue it.

Mat 1:21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins (1 John 3:4).

Act_3:26 Unto you first God, having raised up his Son Jesus, sent him to bless you, in turning away every one of you from his iniquities.

In the old testament things were done physically that are now done spiritually in the new testament.
That is not what Paul, nor Jesus said, see:

Rom_7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Rom_8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

The Law of God was always spiritual, and could only, and ever, be kept by those walking in the Spirit:

Gal_5:16 This I say then, Walk in the Spirit, and ye shall not fulfil the lust of the flesh.

Gal_5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.

Rom_8:4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.

The Law of God is spiritual, all of it, and was written by the Son of God, by the Holy Ghost (Matthew 12:28; Luke 11:20):

Exo_31:18 And he gave unto Moses, when he had made an end of communing with him upon mount Sinai, two tables of testimony, tables of stone, written with the finger of God.

Deu_9:10 And the LORD delivered unto me two tables of stone written with the finger of God; and on them was written according to all the words, which the LORD spake with you in the mount out of the midst of the fire in the day of the assembly.

God always required all the heart, from the beginning:

Deu_10:16 Circumcise therefore the foreskin of your heart, and be no more stiffnecked.

Deu_30:6 And the LORD thy God will circumcise thine heart, and the heart of thy seed, to love the LORD thy God with all thine heart, and with all thy soul, that thou mayest live.

Jer_4:4 Circumcise yourselves to the LORD, and take away the foreskins of your heart, ye men of Judah and inhabitants of Jerusalem: lest my fury come forth like fire, and burn that none can quench it, because of the evil of your doings.

Rom_2:28 For he is not a Jew, which is one outwardly; neither is that circumcision, which is outward in the flesh:

Rom_2:29 But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly; and circumcision is that of the heart, in the spirit, and not in the letter; whose praise is not of men, but of God.

Rom_15:8 Now I say that Jesus Christ was a minister of the circumcision for the truth of God, to confirm the promises made unto the fathers:

Php_3:3 For we are the circumcision, which worship God in the spirit, and rejoice in Christ Jesus, and have no confidence in the flesh.

Col_2:11 In whom also ye are circumcised with the circumcision made without hands, in putting off the body of the sins of the flesh by the circumcision of Christ:

Notice the parallels:

1Co_7:19 Circumcision is nothing, and uncircumcision is nothing, but the keeping of the commandments of God.

Gal_5:6 For in Jesus Christ neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision; but faith which worketh by love.

Gal_6:15 For in Christ Jesus neither circumcision availeth any thing, nor uncircumcision, but a new creature.

Outward formality, without inward sanctification by the Holy Ghost, could never keep God's commandments, especially the Sabbath, which encompasses every day, which is why 'Israel after the flesh", continually transgressed the Sabbath Commandment (Exodus 20:8-11), see Hebrews 3-4. They (Israel after the flesh) had the right day of rest (the 7th day, of the Lord), but the wrong heart, and thus never truly entered into the rest of God (Genesis 2:1-3). Hebrews 3-4 is citing many OT texts. If you would like, I can post a study on each verse of Hebrews 3-4.

why was physical circumcision written in the law ((there's no honest denying it)) if the intent was always spiritual?
God trying to teach mankind something?

Deuteronomy 10:16 and 30:6 are fascinating: a command to men to circumcise their hearts, and then a promise that God will do it. is it even possible for the heart to be circumcised by anyone but God? later comes the Christ, and we have become circumcised "not by human hands"

within this thread, and in others like it, the explanation to this question - why physical circumcision, why no longer - has been attempted to be addressed by simply stating Deuteronomy 10:16, saying, the law commands circumcision of the heart. but this is intellectually dishonest, because that the law requires physical circumcision is a fact; one would have to willfully turn a blind eye to deny it. it address the obvious question; it tries to ignore it and deflect from it.

what is God teaching us, by giving a rule of law to carry out a physical act, which He later reveals to be of no value, commanding a correlating spiritual act that only He can perform, then promising to do it Himself, and faithfully doing so through His grace on the basis of faith?

is the answer in Exodus 31:13 / Ezekiel 20:12 -- the express purpose of the sabbaths -- a sign given to make known that it is He, and none other, who sanctifies?

Exodus 31:13 / Ezekiel 20:12
Jesus Christ is the true Israel (Matthew 2:13-15; Hosea 11:1) and His disciples, those who obey Him (John 14:15; Exodus 20:6), are His children, Hebrews 2:9-13; Isaiah 8:8-20 (Hebrews 2:13; Isaiah 8:16,18; John 13:33).

The 7th day, the Sabbath of the Lord my God (Genesis 2:1-3; Exodus 20:8-11), is central to the New (Everlasting/Eternal) Covenant, as per Isaiah 56:1,8; John 10:16; Isaiah 56:2-7.

why was physical circumcision written in the law
A symbol, of cutting away the carnal "flesh", and submitting (Romans 6:16) to God in the heart, and a sign of a covenanted people, as per: Rom_2:25 "For circumcision verily profiteth, if thou keep the law: ..."

Rom_4:11 And he received the sign of circumcision, a seal of the righteousness of the faith which he had yet being uncircumcised: that he might be the father of all them that believe, though they be not circumcised; that righteousness might be imputed unto them also:

Those who "believe", are circumcised in Abraham (who was in Christ Jesus) to whom the promise also came (Genesis 3:15), and are his real children (of faith):

Gal_3:29 And if ye be Christ's, then are ye Abraham's seed, and heirs according to the promise.

As it is written:

Joh_8:39 They answered and said unto him, Abraham is our father. Jesus saith unto them, If ye were Abraham's children, ye would do the works of Abraham.

Abraham kept God's commandments, and taught them to His children:

Gen_18:19 For I know him, that he will command his children and his household after him, and they shall keep the way of the LORD, to do justice and judgment; that the LORD may bring upon Abraham that which he hath spoken of him.

Gen_26:5 Because that Abraham obeyed my voice, and kept my charge, my commandments, my statutes, and my laws.

But there are those today, like those in Jesus' day who hold the truth in unrighteousness (Romans 1:18; Psalms 119:142; Isaiah 51:7), for they worship the creature (man's laws, as the Pharisees did; Matthew 15:3; Mark 7:8,9,13; Colossians 2:8), rather than God's (the Creators) Laws (Exodus 20:1-17).

like, if you just want to preach and have no intention to answer my question, don't bother quoting it.

sometimes pastors really obviously want to make some kind of applicational sermon, and they find a verse as a jumping off point, and go on for 30 minutes pretending to talk about that verse but really not talking about it at all, applying all kinds of very wrong interpretation to it, because they have an agenda they want to preach, but they feel like they have to have a Bible verse to be a legitimate sermon. I think in that case they are better off not quoting anything than they are citing a verse and completely abusing it.

Do you agree that all humans are under the Covenant that God made not to destroy the Earth again by flood? That would mean every Israelite is under at least 2 Covenants.
I believe that the next time God destroys the earth it will be with fire and not water like the first time. Even then, there was a rainbow after the waters resided.

Mans laws = don't eat ham, rest on Saturdays, don't kill people, don't commit adultery.

Gods Laws = Love, Joy, Faith, Peace, Goodness.

Hebrews 7:15-16
15 And it is yet far more evident: for that after the similitude of Melchisedec there ariseth another priest,
16 Who is made, not after the law of a carnal commandment, but after the power of an endless life.

Carnal commandment - rest on Saturdays, don't kill people, don't commit adultery.

Power of an endless life - Holy Spirit - Love, Joy, Faith, Peace, Goodness.

Hebrews 7:18-19
18 For there is verily a disannulling of the commandment going before for the weakness and unprofitableness thereof.
19 For the law made nothing perfect, but the bringing in of a better hope did; by the which we draw nigh unto God.

There is a disannulling of the carnal commandment, Mans Laws, the truth in unrighteousnous, because of the weakness and unprofitableness of it.

They don't make anyone righteous.

But the bringing in of the better hope DOES make us Righteous. That is the Lord Jesus Christ. The Better Hope.

Galatians 2:21 I do not frustrate the grace of God: for if righteousness come by the law, then Christ is dead in vain.

Do you want to be righteous or do you want to follow your carnal understanding of the law??

SDA, Hebrew roots and all other legalists want to follow their understanding of the law. But what does the bible say?

Galatians 3:2-3
2 This only would I learn of you, Received ye the Spirit by the works of the law, or by the hearing of faith?
3 Are ye so foolish? having begun in the Spirit, are ye now made perfect by the flesh?

This should be enough to make you turn from your foolish carnal understanding and instead turn to the Power of an endless Life and His Understanding. The Lords Understanding is much greater than ours. Should be obvious.

Clean and Unclean is not man's law. It is God's Law from the beginning. Man (Adam) fell on the temptation of diet to eat that which was forbidden to him to eat.

Gal_6:7 Be not deceived; God is not mocked: for whatsoever a man soweth, that shall he also reap.

1Co_6:13 Meats for the belly, and the belly for meats: but God shall destroy both it and them. Now the body is not for fornication, but for the Lord; and the Lord for the body.

Php_3:19 Whose end is destruction, whose God is their belly, and whose glory is in their shame, who mind earthly things.)

Isa_65:4 Which remain among the graves, and lodge in the monuments, which eat swine's flesh, and broth of abominable things is in their vessels;

Isa_66:17 They that sanctify themselves, and purify themselves in the gardens behind one tree in the midst, eating swine's flesh, and the abomination, and the mouse, shall be consumed together, saith the LORD.

You are warned. If you need more detail, I can so give, however this thread is "sabbath".

"Saturday" is not the "Sabbath of the Lord [my] God".

Saturday is pagan Roman time (midnight to midnight).

Sabbath is from sunset (end of 6th day) to sunset (end of 7th day), and is Holy, blessed and sanctified time.

Sabbath is not once man's law in scripture, but always God's Law.

Carnal commandment - rest on Saturdays, don't kill people, don't commit adultery.
God's Ten Commandments are never carnal, not in the least word or letter, since it was written by the Holy Spirit:

Rom_7:14 For we know that the law is spiritual: but I am carnal, sold under sin.

Power of an endless life - Holy Spirit - Love, Joy, Faith, Peace, Goodness.
God's Law of Ten Commandments is Love expressed in writing, even eternal promises of the New/Everlasting/Eternal Covenant. God's Law of Ten Commandment is indeed "good". The Ten Commandment begin with Grace (Exodus 20:2), that must be believed by faith, bringing the joy of obedience through the Holy Ghost (John 14:15; Exodus 20:6; Acts 5:32; Hebrews 5:9).

Jesus was anointed of the Holy Ghost, notice in Luke 4:14-19. True sabbath keeping, in connection with the Everlasting Gospel, for without the Holy Ghost, no man can keep the spiritual Law.

The carnal mind, fulfills the flesh, and thus disobedience and transgression follow:

Rom_8:7 Because the carnal mind is enmity against God: for it is not subject to the law of God, neither indeed can be.

For one who has no faith in the Grace and Promises of God's Ten Commandments of Love, resists the Holy Ghost, and thus cannot ever keep them, since they require the Holy Ghost, who is to seal the Law of God in the disciples of Jesus (Isaiah 8:8-20), and write that Law in their hearts (Jeremiah 31;31-34; Hebrews 8:8-13, 10:16; Ezekiel 36:25-29, 37:26-28; 2 Corinthians 3:3, etc).

They don't make anyone righteous.
Whoever said the Law makes anyone righteous? Certainly not I.

God makes one righteous (right-doing), and it comes through God's grace (in Christ Jesus, by/through the Holy Ghost) through faith, as per Ephesians 2:8-10; Titus 3:4-8.

Isa_45:25 In the LORD shall all the seed of Israel be justified, and shall glory.

"law" of Priesthood (Hebrews 7:11-12) changed from Levitical to Melchizedekal. Not Ten Commandments 'unchangable' (Malachi 3:6, again being a written transcript of His perfect will and character, Exodus 33:12-23, 34:1-9, 20:5-6; Psalms 40:8) and "forever" (Psalms 119:44), see the context.

The Law of Ten Comamndments exists, which is why you and I need Jesus' priesthood to minister His sacrifice in the Heaevnly True Tabernacle.

This should be enough to make you turn from your foolish carnal understanding
Who does the Bible say that the "fool" is?

Psa_14:1 To the chief Musician, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.

Psa_53:1 To the chief Musician upon Mahalath, Maschil, A Psalm of David. The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. Corrupt are they, and have done abominable iniquity: there is none that doeth good.

They say, "No." to God when God asks them to obey Him in His commandment (Exodus 20:8-11; John 14:15, Exodus 20:6), and thus deny Him.

The Law of Ten Commandments is "good".

Rom_7:12 Wherefore the law is holy, and the commandment holy, and just, and good.

But there are those who say, "Lord, lord" and do not "do" what He commands. As it is said, honoured through lip service alone.

Actually, I didn't notice EvangAlived was quoting you. His post is a winner because it's truth and light, something CC needs more of.:)

Rev 14:6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people,

Rev 14:7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.

Exo 20:11 For in six days the LORD made heaven and earth, the sea, and all that in them is, and rested the seventh day: wherefore the LORD blessed the sabbath day, and hallowed it.

Rev 14:12 Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.
