but you still did not answer the question Do you deny God gave you power to become a Son of God?
I certainly did answer it: SEE POST #3709 starting with Sentence 2 through the end.

I am an adopted son of GOD.

Galatians 4:4-6 (HCSB)
[SUP]4 [/SUP] When the time came to completion, God sent His Son, born of a woman, born under the law,
[SUP]5 [/SUP] to redeem those under the law, so that we might receive adoption as sons.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] And because you are sons, God has sent the Spirit of His Son into our hearts, crying, “Abba, Father!”

another big word might, those who are sons received the power to become a Son of God it is evident because he knows who he is writing to, but he doesn’t know you or me. So when he is talking in a general sense he says we might because it depends on an action by (we). But to those whom the letter is directed he knows so he says you are.
So the question still remain. Do you deny God gave you power to become a Son of God?

Every thing that I told you about born again, is a work of the Holy Spirit. Yes, and that power specifically is to believe and receive Jesus Christ as LORD, which means Master, which at that very moment we are SAVED, not by anything we did but because of EVERYTHING HE DID. The sons of GOD is a position of adoption, that is part of when the Holy Spirit brings our once dead spirit to eternal life HE then immerses us INTO THE SPIRITUAL BODY OF CHRIST. The HOLY SPIRIT also empowers us to live and walk a lifestyle of obeying HIM purely because we LOVE HIM. Our human spirits are led by the HOLY SPIRIT to LOVE GOD and to manifest that love for HIM by obedience, because HE SAVED US, the moment we believed.

Romans 8:14-16 (HCSB)
[SUP]14 [/SUP] All those led by God’s Spirit are God’s sons.
[SUP]15 [/SUP] For you did not receive a spirit of slavery to fall back into fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption, by whom we cry out, “Abba, Father!”
[SUP]16 [/SUP] The Spirit Himself testifies together with our spirit that we are God’s children,
This does not answer my question a simple yes or no will suffice... Do you deny God gave you power to become a Son of God?

[SUP]3 [/SUP]Knowing this, that the trying of your faith worketh patience.

[SUP]4 [/SUP]But let patience have her perfect work, that ye may be perfect and entire, wanting nothing.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]If any of you lack wisdom, let him ask of God, that giveth to all men liberally, and upbraideth not; and it shall be given him.

the OP was a positive statement regarding scripture and it has not ever been refuted. They will continue to argue, twist scripture to make it fit, but then from my vantage point that has been going on for 500 years already and 3723 posts later is but pocket change.

You are saying yes but what follows is your opinion as to how it works... This is what the power of God does, it gives you the ability to act. Have you added any of these to your faith.

[SUP]2 [/SUP]Grace and peace be multiplied unto you through the knowledge of God, and of Jesus our Lord,

[SUP]3 [/SUP]According as his divine power hath given unto us all things that pertain unto life and godliness, through the knowledge of him that hath called us to glory and virtue:

[SUP]4 [/SUP]Whereby are given unto us exceeding great and precious promises: that by these ye might be partakers of the divine nature, having escaped the corruption that is in the world through lust.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]And beside this, giving all diligence, add to your faith virtue; and to virtue knowledge;

[SUP]6 [/SUP]And to knowledge temperance; and to temperance patience; and to patience godliness;

[SUP]7 [/SUP]And to godliness brotherly kindness; and to brotherly kindness charity.

[SUP]8 [/SUP]For if these things be in you, and abound, they make you that ye shall neither be barren nor unfruitful in the knowledge of our Lord Jesus Christ.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]But he that lacketh these things is blind, and cannot see afar off, and hath forgotten that he was purged from his old sins.

[SUP]10 [/SUP]Wherefore the rather, brethren, give diligence to make your calling and election sure: for if ye do these things, ye shall never fall:
[SUP]11 [/SUP]For so an entrance shall be ministered unto you abundantly into the everlasting kingdom of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ.

All of them, does that make me am I then sinless? NO, no one is sinless in this mortal body! ONLY when He gives us our glorified body will we be sinless. When will that happen? When HE calls us to go to the Wedding of the Lamb in Heaven.

And it is NOT my opinion on how it works. ALL OF MY FAITH AND BELIEFS ARE BASED ON SCRIPTURE.

John 1:12-13 (NKJV)
[SUP]12 [/SUP] But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, to those who believe in His name:
[SUP]13 [/SUP] who were born, not of blood, nor of the will of the flesh, nor of the will of man, but of God.

Colossians 2:6 (NIV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord, continue to live in Him,

Romans 10:9-10 (NASB)
[SUP]9 [/SUP] that if you confess {not just profess} with your mouth Jesus as Lord, {which means MASTER} and believe in your heart that God raised Him from the dead, you will be saved;
[SUP]10 [/SUP] for with the heart a person believes, resulting in righteousness, and with the mouth he confesses, resulting in salvation.

now we are getting somewhere .....Now Jesus is your master and every servant must obey his master, and the master requires this
1 John 2:3-7

King James Version (KJV)

[SUP]3 [/SUP]And hereby we do know that we know him, if we keep his commandments.
[SUP]4 [/SUP]He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him.
[SUP]5 [/SUP]But whoso keepeth his word, in him verily is the love of God perfected: hereby know we that we are in him.
[SUP]6 [/SUP]He that saith he abideth in him ought himself also so to walk, even as he walked.
[SUP]7 [/SUP]Brethren, I write no new commandment unto you, but an old commandment which ye had from the beginning. The old commandment is the word which ye have heard from the beginning.

But I love the last verse.[SUP]

WRONG, you really do not read my posts do you? I have told you, Cassian, Seabass, and several others for months now. I have been a bond servant of the LORD JESUS CHRIST since my third attempt at suicide the last week of December 1978. I am a bond servant {a willing servant} NOT A SLAVE. THERE IS NO "MUST KEEP", there is only"will keep because I love HIM."

I TOLD YOU BEFORE, BUT YOU WILL NOT LISTEN, MY WIFE IS HANDICAPPED NOW, I SERVE HER WISHES BECAUSE I LOVE HER, NOT BECAUSE I MUST KEEP HER WISHES. AND I LOVE THE LORD MORE THAN HER.

John 14:15 (HCSB)
[SUP]15 [/SUP] “If you love Me, you will keep My commands.

you will keep My commands.

you will keep My commands.

you will keep My commands.

You can "must keep" all you want, and you will find out it all amounts to nothing more that filthy rags.

As for me and my house, we WILL KEEP HIS COMMANDS, because we LOVE HIM.

Paul instructs us to work out our own salvation:

[12] Therefore, my beloved, as you have always obeyed, so now, not only as in my presence but much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling;
[13] for God is at work in you, both to will and to work for his good pleasure. Phil 2:12-13 RSV

And believe me, it involves repenting of our sin.

"Faith alone saves, but the faith that saves is not alone"

- John Calvin
"For it is not those who hear the law who are righteous in God's sight, but it is those who obey the law who will be declared righteous." Rom. 2:13 John Calvin's assumption is an error.

Repentance like Salvation is a work of the Holy Spirit. That takes place when we first repent, believe, and receive Jesus Christ as LORD. THAT IS WHAT THE HOLY SPIRIT EMPOWERS US TO DO. So it has NOTHING to do with the expression: "work out your own salvation". That expression simply means, if you really are SAVED, then live like it; in other words make sure that what happened inside (past tense) works it's way out in your Christian Walk.

Here is a couple parallel verses:

1 John 2:6 (NKJV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] He who says he abides in Him {= SAVED } ought himself also to walk just as He walked.

Colossians 2:6-7 (NIV)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] So then, just as you received Christ Jesus as Lord,
{= SAVED } continue to live in Him,
[SUP]7 [/SUP] rooted and built up in him, strengthened in the faith as you were taught, and overflowing with thankfulness.

"work out" means to reason or conjugate. However the "faith as you were taught it" does not hold up when compared to the scriptures.

Obedience for the WRONG MOTIVE is still a pile of filthy rags. "To earn part of one's Salvation" is still the WRONG MOTIVE. The only pure motive is to express out LOVE for GOD, because HE SAVED US.

You would be wrong, then.

In Mal. 3:6 we find out that the LORD does not change. THEREFORE, if we can find out HOW God saved one man; we will KNOW HOW GOD SAVES ALL MEN.

Romans 4:2-5 (HCSB)
[SUP]2 [/SUP] If Abraham was justified by works, he has something to brag about—but not before God.
[SUP]3 [/SUP] For what does the Scripture say? Abraham believed God, and it was credited to him for righteousness.
[SUP]4[/SUP] Now to the one who works, pay is not considered as a gift, but as something owed.
[SUP]5 [/SUP] But to the one who does not work, but believes on Him who declares the ungodly to be righteous, his faith is credited for righteousness.

Romans 11:5-6 (HCSB)
[SUP]5 [/SUP] In the same way, then, there is also at the present time a remnant chosen by grace.
[SUP]6 [/SUP] Now if by grace, then it is not by works; otherwise grace ceases to be grace.
