What in the Bible tells you that it is wrong to posses it or smoke it?
1 Thessalonians 5:[SUP]5 [/SUP]Ye are all the children of light, and the children of the day: we are not of the night, nor of darkness.[SUP] 6 [/SUP]Therefore let us not sleep, as do others; but let us watch and be sober.[SUP] 7 [/SUP]For they that sleep sleep in the night; and they that be drunken are drunken in the night.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]But let us, who are of the day, be sober, putting on the breastplate of faith and love; and for an helmet, the hope of salvation.

How much does one puff to get stoned or high since that is the whole point of smoking pot?

Weed Warning: Legalizing Marijuana Tied to Rise in Crashes in 3 States by HLDI

Galatians 5:[SUP]19 [/SUP]Now the works of the flesh are manifest, which are these; Adultery, fornication, uncleanness, lasciviousness,[SUP] 20 [/SUP]Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,[SUP]21 [/SUP]Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Salvation is never at risk, but being a castaway at the pre raptured event is, so it is better to be sober in these latter days.

1 Corinthians 9:[SUP]24 [/SUP]Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.[SUP] 25 [/SUP]And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown; but we an incorruptible.[SUP] 26 [/SUP]I therefore so run, not as uncertainly; so fight I, not as one that beateth the air:[SUP]27 [/SUP]But I keep under my body, and bring it into subjection: lest that by any means, when I have preached to others, I myself should be a castaway.

1 Peter 5:[SUP]7 [/SUP]Casting all your care upon him; for he careth for you.[SUP] 8 [/SUP]Be sober, be vigilant; because your adversary the devil, as a roaring lion, walketh about, seeking whom he may devour:[SUP]9 [/SUP]Whom resist stedfast in the faith, knowing that the same afflictions are accomplished in your brethren that are in the world.

Drug dealers wait for people that would never do the harder drugs to get stoned before enticing them to try it. It happened to my brother who argued up and down that he would never try it while defending smoking pot, because he has seen on the streets what it has done to people.

But he got on crack. When he was off of it, and I hope he still is, he said why he went back on his word that he would never do the harder drugs; he did it when he was stoned.

Another reason to be sober all the time.

Basically, I live in sin and am constantly going back and forth to God and to sin. I understand many things. I have Marijuana and scripture shows me that it's wrong to possess it and to smoke it. I could sell my weed and my pipe or I could throw it away and try not to do that again. What is the Godly thing to do?
Throw it away and stop using it.

Well, selling it is profiting from your sin and putting it on someone else's shoulders. Can't see where that's a good idea either way.

Assuming the pipe is just a pipe, (hey, my grandfather bought a hookah pipe in Germany, and it's too nice to throw it out, even if my brother used it once to get high), throw it out. As for the weed? I'd probably throw it in my compost. No idea if worms could get high off it, but I'm sure it would be good as soil for my garden next year, if the worms ate it this year. I just hate to see perfectly good mulch go to waste.

Drugs are a portal to the devil.

If you need confusion and anxiety get stoned.

That beast will take you to the desert and leave you there.

There are many Scriptures advocating a sober lifestyle.
Being regularly stoned on pot does NOT count as sobriety.
There are more than the following, but surely these should suffice?
The question was to see if the Spirit was moving on her heart, that way once we knew what the Spirit was showing her through the Word of God, we could of guided her into other area's by knowing where the Lord was leading her bygg His Spirit through His word. I was not asking as if I was going to say that it is okay, she did not have to worry about it, but without knowing where or how she was being guided or lead by the Spirit of the Lord and His word in this issue.

Believe me I would of loved to start throwing out Scripture, but I was not feeling that jumping right into this without understanding where she was in response of the Lord. If I should even offer some Scriptures and if I should what type should be offered.

Therefore an overseer must be above reproach, the husband of one wife, sober-minded, self-controlled, respectable, hospitable, able to teach,

And do not get drunk with wine, for that is debauchery, but be filled with the Spirit,

Likewise, urge the younger men to be self-controlled.

1 Timothy 3:11
Their wives likewise must be dignified, not slanderers, but sober-minded, faithful in all things.

2 Timothy 4:5
As for you, always be sober-minded, endure suffering, do the work of an evangelist, fulfill your ministry.

1 Corinthians 5:11
But now I am writing to you not to associate with anyone who bears the name of brother if he is guilty of sexual immorality or greed, or is an idolater, reviler, drunkard, or swindler—not even to eat with such a one.

Woe to those who rise early in the morning, that they may run after
strong drink, who tarry late into the evening as wine inflames them!

Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the schemes of the devil.

Romans 13:13
Let us walk properly as in the daytime, not in orgies and drunkenness,

1 Thessalonians 5:6-8
So then let us not sleep, as others do, but let us keep awake and be sober. For those who sleep, sleep at night, and those who get drunk, are drunk at night. But since we belong to the day, let us be sober, having put on the breastplate of faith and love, and for a helmet the hope of salvation.

1 Peter 4:3
For the time that is past suffices for doing what the Gentiles want to do, living in sensuality, passions, drunkenness, orgies, drinking parties, and lawless idolatry.

Romans 14:21
It is good not to eat meat or drink wine or do anything that causes your brother to stumble.

Whoredom, wine, and new wine, which take away the understanding.

Proverbs 23:20-21

And I can't help but ponder if that all those instructions are not written in the Quran as well.

I doubt it. Did you even read the Scriptures given? For instance, the one concerning the hope of our salvation? Muslims have no sure assurance of salvation, unless they kill people in the name of their religion. Nor do they believe in exercising self control. That is why they force their women to cover themselves from head to foot, because they cannot control their lust and refuse to take responsibility for it. It is the woman's fault for being raped because she seduced the man when he saw her wrist. It is your fault for speaking the truth about Mohammed and they get so enraged they will kill you.

Like I said, I couldn't help but ponder the question since I interpret the three tabernacles as being Holy cities of the Rome, Jerusalem and Mecca.

And Peter answered and said to Jesus, Master, it is good for us to be here: and let us make three tabernacles; one for thee, and one for Moses, and one for Elias
Mark 9:5

Thus, the holy Books being the Old Testament, New Testament and the Qur'aan would say basically the same things in principle, albeit worded differently.

I asked someone who has read the Qur'aan if they noticed any similar passages with those you provided, they cited these offhand.

[4.43] O you who believe! Do not go near prayer when you are Intoxicated until you know (well) what you say…

[2.219] They ask you about intoxicants and games of chance. Say: In both of them there is a great sin and means of profit for people, and their sin is greater than their profit.

[5.90] O you who believe! Intoxicants and games of chance and (sacrificing to) stones set up and (dividing by) arrows are only an uncleanness, the Shaitan's work; shun it therefore that you may achieve salvation.

[5.91] The Shaitan only desires to cause enmity and hatred to spring in your midst by means of intoxicants and games of chance, and to keep you off from the remembrance of Allah and from prayer. Will you then desist?

[36.60] Did I not charge you, O children of Adam ! That you should not serve the Shaitan? Surely he is your open enemy,

As far as your comment regarding assurance of salvation, according to 1 John 4:15, it is written "Whosoever shall confess that Jesus is the Son of God, God dwelleth in him, and he in God."

So does a person who confesses that Jesus is the Christ have any assurance of salvation?
