I think it is very backwards to say that Jesus lost His life because satan is the ruler of this world and to say that it is a painful fact. NO ONE, including satan, took Jesus' life because of any power over Him. He GAVE His life willingly. It wasn't strongarmed from Him...He had the power to lay it down or not lay it down, to ask for legions of angels or not ask for legions of angels. If you take away His WILLING sacrifice, you take away everything JM.

Stunned., I didn't say nor have I ever said that Jesus was forced into anything. Or that God the Father was forced into anything. It was His choice and the God head planned it out long ago from before the creation of the world this great plan of salvation. Jesus willingly laid down His life for us. We humans have a choice in all of this from start to finish. Do we accept Jesus or do we deny Him. He freely gave to us... Do we reject Him or do we come to Him?

It is ironic Depleted, I also was told I was to young to remember.

One time I told Dad these memories, and he told me I couldn't possibly remember them. I was too young. Ends up, I was 18 months when it happened and that "cut" wasn't merely a cut. Like many children, I was born with a hernia in my lower abdomen.
I remember full well some asthma attacks from around 2 years of age. I had fully outgrown my asthma by 2 1/2 years old. I also remember a another incident about asking for apple peels to eat and I was told to come get them. I remember climbing over the side of the crib to go after them.

Did you know Jesus Christ, has defeated Satan, His Demons, and has had Victory over Sin, and death as well?

:) Hope you are all having a good day today, God bless.

Exodus 33:11

And the Lord spake into Moses face to face, Aas a man speakers into his FRIEND. And he turned again into the camp: but his servant Jousha, the son of Nun, a young man departed not out of the tabernackle.

So want to quibble about the difference between friend and buddy?

It is not disrespect to consider Jesus our friend.
how clever

you have changed what you said and now Jesus is your friend instead of your personal prosecutor

you are still using Jesus instead of just saying what you think you want to say

if you don't like what someone says...tell them straight out...what you are doing is a tactic best left out of Christian apologetics

if you want to identify with OT practices, don't forget the evening sacrifice...oh but wait...you are not a priest

we are all on equal footing with Christ...He is not YOUR personal anything that He is not also the Personal everything to everyone else who believes

which is why I say state your gripe and leave Jesus out of it. He is not here to win an arguement for you or to point fingers on your behalf. that is a dishonest tactic used by those who are used to doing that in order to charge guilt to someone else that Jesus removed a long time ago

stop using Jesus

sometimes donkeys really make more sense than anything said

Jesus is not taking sides here

Jesus is not exclusive to an individual who decides to whomp on someone else because they agree with the op and do not say so, but rather start to pick on someone who disagrees

the transparency is blinding but I guess you have to be looking to see it

like all the posts you want. Jesus does not like them and He does not like false doctrines and heresy and doctrines of demons

No, that's fulfilling Eph 5
6Let no one deceive you with empty words, for because of these things the wrath of God comes upon the sons of disobedience. 7Therefore do not be partakers with them; 8for you were formerly darkness, but now you are Light in the Lord; walk as children of Light 9(for the fruit of the Light consists in all goodness and righteousness and truth), 10trying to learn what is pleasing to the Lord. 11Do not participate in the unfruitful deeds of darkness, but instead even expose them; 12for it is disgraceful even to speak of the things which are done by them in secret. 13But all things become visible when they are exposed by the light, for everything that becomes visible is light.

This post exposed your hand.

As soon as you started projecting on me it became clear. It also confirms you're the one abusing grace.

Projection is a device that, once exposed, will show everything about the person using it.

Those that are deluded seem to have no clue they're exposing their real self when using it.

Thank you Davida for inadvertently telling us about yourself.:)
Wrong, I leave the judging to God, and because she loves God her focus is on Him.

Maybe less psychology books and more Bible...

Less speaking and more loving
You should try true repentance & study the Word.
1 John 2:15 Do not love the world nor the things in the world. If anyone loves the world, the love of the Father is not in him.

It's a shame that people post something they think like "jm doesn't believe the book of Job." No., jm doesn't believe the interpretation of some here on this thread ABOUT the book of Job.

The book of Job is put there for a reason., for our learning. The Bible is all God's Word - God breathed for us from Genesis to Revelation., and for our learning. It's our job to look to the Holy Spirit as we read the Bible to have it's truths properly and rightly divided for us. The whole Bible is God breathed and for us for doctrine, for reproof for correction and discipline., for showing us how to live.. 2 Timothy 3:15-17

[SUP]15 [/SUP]And how from your childhood you have had a knowledge of and been acquainted with the sacred Writings, which are able to instruct you and give you the understanding for salvation which comes through faith in Christ Jesus [through the [SUP][a][/SUP]leaning of the entire human personality on God in Christ Jesus in absolute trust and confidence in His power, wisdom, and goodness].
[SUP]
16 [/SUP]Every Scripture is God-breathed (given by His inspiration) and profitable for instruction, for reproof and conviction of sin, for correction of error and discipline in obedience, [and] for training in righteousness (in holy living, in conformity to God’s will in thought, purpose, and action),
[SUP]
17 [/SUP]So that the man of God may be complete and proficient, well fitted and thoroughly equipped for every good work.

Unsaved people can read the Bible and not understand the hidden meanings through the so called contradictions they have heard or even read in the Bible. So they read it according to their own understanding and totally misrepresent IT and God. They hate it because God sounds like a tyrant and a killer and murderer and a psychopath... And so they refuse to come. They don't believe He is the God of love and truth and justice. They call the God of the Bible evil.

Anyone of US can read the Bible and force it to say what we believe as well. We can read it based on our OWN experiences and hurts in life. That is where we MUST allow the Holy Spirit to heal us and show us the truth in our new man. We are called to reckon ourselves (our old man) to be dead and our new man to be alive. We are called to see Jesus. And we have the Holy Spirit to point us all the time to Jesus.

The pains and hurts we have experienced in life come because we live in a sinful ugly rotten world. Adam was the first human who had everything he and his wife Eve could ever have needed or wanted. Yet even Adam and Eve with EVERY OPPORTUNITY to succeed TOTALLY FAILED. They both allowed the enemy of their souls to lie and steal from them the very gifts God freely gave them.

We have every opportunity in Christ to walk in the victory He won for us. Why do so many of us fail? For myself.... I saw God through the lens of my own understanding not allowing the Holy Spirit to interpret Jesus for me. I was in a mess and headed for a bigger mess and probably even would have died if I hadn't allowed the Holy Spirit to give me a do over in my understanding of Jesus.

I became a willing participant to see Jesus from the Holy Spirit's point of view and found it is He who leads us all into the truth., not me and my flimsy understanding or experiences. And so I come to CC to share what I've been learning about. That Jesus LOVES us and no longer deals with us according to our own understanding. He calls us to live a new and living way. So praise the LORD for He is GOOD., His mercies endure forever!!! :)

I disagree with you ultimately, (and respectfully.)

First, Joan is not three.

Second, she is not trying to figure out God anymore. (And "anymore" is with the hope that at least she did try at one time. I, personally, have not witnessed it, but I've only known her for three years, so not very long.) I really do get we can see different things in scripture than other people see, however, once you start saying scripture says something when it clearly says the opposite of that, (aka my reoccurring question that she has intentionally not answered, because, yes, she agrees with Ellis that the Book of Job is a lie), that's not trying to figure out God. That is open rebellion against God.

And that she is trying to convince Christians into this nonsense, says something else. A word I have only used three times in my life, because it is such a harsh word. Not just a harsh word, but it is a line in the sand. The moment in time when I stop believing God will save someone. Heretic!

She is a heretic trying to steal God's people away from him to join in her fantasy. Or truthfully, to pull people away from the Lord.

(BTW, Joan, if you don't want to be called a heretic, then stop being a heretic! Stop saying the Bible is a lie. This is NOT "interpretation." It is LIE. That first sentence Ellis wrote and you agree with is a lie! 100% lie. You can't even squeeze a little bit of truth out of it no matter how much double-talk you do. A well-done lie has 90% truth in it. This is 100% lie. Not well done at all!)

This thread is a particularly stark example of the heresy that is in each and every one of the copy and pastes of both Joseph Prince and Paul Ellis, that Joanie posts. I always wonder if they will sometime just write a “neutral” post, in the sense that it fits in with orthodox theology and pretty much everyone agrees with it. You know, like Jesus died on the cross and came to save his people from their sins, sort of thing.

But no! Always this bizarre, ear tickling twisting, which literally makes the Bible a liar. Always some kind of “new” insight, which makes 2000 years of correct hermeneutics wrong. Without actually proving it in Hebrew or Greek. Or for that matter, just reading the verses, and seeing what they really say! You certainly don’t need a PhD in theology to see the Joanie Marie and her gurus, are liars and cheats and deceivers, where the word of God is concerned.

I think we have dealt over and over with the sovereignty of God, but, until we can disabuse the hypergrace/Word Faith people of nonsense like “they are gods” “they can speak worlds into existance” to say nothing of “God wants you happy, healthy and prosperous” they are going to continue misinterpreting Scripture based on foundational errors in doctrine. Which is a nice way of way, OUT RIGHT LIES!

I used to think Joanie was sincere in her posts.Sincerely wrong, of course, but thinking she was right, because she had been brainwashed by her cult. Now, after post after post, and her saying,

“Black is white, I can make the Bible say anything it wants, as long as it makes me feel good,” I am thinking she trying to hoodwink us all. Outright lies about Job!! Joanie, have you ever even read the book, without handouts to folliow from your cult leaders?

God is sovereign and in control. Satan needed his permission to attack Job. God limited what he could do. In fact, God recommended Job to be tortured. To show the glory of God, not for Satan’s benefit, or Job’s restoration. Although Job was restored, that is not at all the point of the book!

I would repost Job 1, 2, 3 but so many people have done it, it is time to complain on mass and report her for her heresy. It may not work, but we need to call a spade a spade. This heresy is not playing around the fringes of doctrine. The OP and Joanie’s subsequent posts undermine who God is, and preach another gospel. Time to ban this kind of evil. If Joanie has shown any signs of being teachable, of having read the Bible other own, that would be one thing. Instead, this constant copy and pastes from world renowned heretics in this forum needs to be stopped. The Amplified Version sums this up rather nicely, what is going on in Joanie’s threads:

For the time will come when people will not tolerate sound doctrine and accurate instruction [that challenges them with God’s truth]; but wanting to have their ears tickled [with something pleasing], they will accumulate for themselves [many] teachers [one after another, chosen] to satisfy their own desires and to support the errors they hold,” 2 Tim. 4:3 AMP

I cannot resist posting some of my favourite verses from Job, in which God describes not only his sovereign majesty, but what he has done.

Where were you
when I laid the foundation of the earth?
Tell me, if you possess understanding!
5 Who set its measurements—if you know—
or who stretched a measuring line across it?
6 On what were its bases set,
or who laid its cornerstone—
7 when the morning stars sang in chorus,
and all the sons of God shouted for joy?
8 “Who shut up the sea with doors
when it burst forth, coming out of the womb,
9 when I made the storm clouds its garment,
and thick darkness its swaddling band,
10 when I prescribed its limits,
and set in place its bolts and doors,
11 when I said, ‘To here you may come
and no farther,
here your proud waves will be confined’?
12 Have you ever in your life commanded the morning,
or made the dawn know its place,
13 that it might seize the corners of the earth,
and shake the wicked out of it?
14 The earth takes shape like clay under a seal;
its features are dyed like a garment.
15 Then from the wicked the light is withheld,
and the arm raised in violence is broken.
16 Have you gone to the springs that fill the sea,
or walked about in the recesses of the deep?
17 Have the gates of death been revealed to you?
Have you seen the gates of deepest darkness?
18 Have you considered the vast expanses of the earth?
Tell me, if you know it all!
19 “In what direction does light reside,
and darkness, where is its place,
20 that you may take them to their borders
and perceive the pathways to their homes?
21 You know, for you were born before them;
and the number of your days is great!
22 Have you entered the storehouse of the snow,
or seen the armory of the hail,
23 which I reserve for the time of trouble,
for the day of war and battle?
24 In what direction is lightning dispersed,
or the east winds scattered over the earth?
25 Who carves out a channel for the heavy rains,
and a path for the rumble of thunder,
26 to cause it to rain on an uninhabited land,
a desert where there are no human beings,
27 to satisfy a devastated and desolate land,
and to cause it to sprout with vegetation?
28 Does the rain have a father,
or who has fathered the drops of the dew?
29 From whose womb does the ice emerge,
and the frost from the sky, who gives birth to it,
30 when the waters become hard like stone,
when the surface of the deep is frozen solid?
31 Can you tie the bands of the Pleiades,
or release the cords of Orion?
32 Can you lead out
the constellations in their seasons,
or guide the Bear with its cubs?
33 Do you know the laws of the heavens,
or can you set up their rule over the earth?
34 Can you raise your voice to the clouds
so that a flood of water covers you?
35 Can you send out lightning bolts, and they go?
Will they say to you, ‘Here we are’?
36 Who has put wisdom in the heart,
or has imparted understanding to the mind?
37 Who by wisdom can count the clouds,
and who can tip over the water jars of heaven,
38 when the dust hardens into a mass,
and the clumps of earth stick together?
39 “Do you hunt prey for the lioness,
and satisfy the appetite of the lions,” Job 38:4-39 NET
[FONT=&quot]
Or the some of this speech by Elihu. He speaks of who God is and what he does.

“[/FONT]
Yes, God is great—beyond our knowledge!
The number of his years is unsearchable.
27 He draws up drops of water;
they distill the rain into its mist,
28 which the clouds pour down
and shower on humankind abundantly.
29 Who can understand the spreading of the clouds,
the thunderings of his pavilion?
30 See how he scattered his lightning about him;
he has covered the depths of the sea.
31 It is by these that he judges the nations
and supplies food in abundance.
32 With his hands he covers the lightning,
and directs it against its target.
33 His thunder announces the coming storm,
the cattle also, concerning the storm’s approach.” Job 36:26-33 NET
[FONT=&quot]

All you “little gods” who somehow think you can do what God did, because you are an heir of the King., come back with some sound evidence that you control the snow, the rain, the lightening and thunder, the seas, that you can JUDGE the nations, set the stars in their paths, and that you laid the foundation of the earth, and maybe we can talk about these psychotic fantasies that ilk like Paul Ellis and Joseph Prince have implanted in your brains. (To say nothing of older false teachers like Hagin, Copeland, Hinn etc.!
Seek to know God, read these last chapters of Job, from 36 on, and see if you fit the definitions or if you can do the things God can do.

I’ve got bad news for you! You cannot, you are not God, not even polytheist little gods, who can command mountains into the sea, a sign of the destruction to come and Jesus death, not a literal command for believers.

I just cannot believe these lies are continuing to go on and on, and no one is stopping them. (I’m not talking about all the people who have rightly posted, with Scripture against the total lie of the OP and subsequent Joanie posts. I’m talking I wish the forum would go back to the days when outright, misleading heresy would be stopped, removed and the posters banned. I know most of you don’t remember those days, but they really did exist, and this kind of garbage would have been banned, no ifs, ands or buts!)

I weep for the people who believe these lies, and that these lies are constantly posted on CC, to seduce those who do not know the Bible, or how to read in context. I weep that this kind of utter tripe continues to be posted, and nothing is done to stop the spread of this horrible heresy!

I also believe this is true Matthew. We have been given every opportunity to be saved forgiven and not die in our sins. God gave up His only Son., that is how much He loved the world. But not all will come. You are right Matthew., there are some things about God we will not understand BUT there are many things we have been freely given for our learning 1 Cor.2:12 so we CAN and should seek to understand.

As a matter of fact I've discovered He wants us to have a STRONG CONSOLATION Hebrews 6:18-19., an ANCHOR for the soul.. The evidence is in Christ about how much He does love us and wants us to KNOW He loves us.

It takes a willingness to trust Him and His love for us. If we have Jesus., we have life. Without Jesus the wrath of God abides. The message is JESUS and Him crucified. God soooo loved the world that He gave His only begotten Son that WHO SO EVER believes on Him shall not perish but have ever lasting life.

Some do not believe in a literal hell where souls will be tormented forever. I know many Christians who believe this way and they are good brothers and sisters. But I don't agree with them because of my seeing that sin was so bad Jesus had to come to save us from it. Jesus suffered on the cross... He felt pain and he suffered physically. God could have spared Him that but He didn't. So Matthew., suffering and death is what He experienced for us., He took allll our pain., sickness....,diseases., confusion., condemnation..., guilt..., shame... , wrath and punishment upon Himself.

And it's God's will than all should come to repentance., but not all will come. Not all will believe. So if it takes believing what God says about Jesus and about sin causing suffering and death., than I'm going to believe it even if I don't understand it. Jesus suffered and died so we don't have to. If we have Jesus we will not suffer that wrath and that death. So the answer is always Jesus. For salvation and for our walking by grace through faith in this life. And the Holy Spirit will lead us into all truth.

The Bible says we have died with Christ and our life is now hid in Him. Our old man is dead and our new man is alive. Baptized unto His death. I don't understand all that the Bible says but I believe in the awesome love and grace of God in Christ. It is poured out to us and for us. And now we have the ministry of reconciliation while we are here on earth. We are His workmanship created in Christ Jesus.

There is so much to learn and He promises that as we learn we will not be frustrated or upset. We will have the peace of the Holy Spirit John 7:38 Rivers of living water flowing in and through us to do what He has called us to do. We learn as we go. We have enough grace for today. Don't worry about tomorrow.

The problem is many Christians go in their own righteousness. In our human reasoning we think; "God will surely give us good things when we behave and are good." The fact is only Jesus is good and only Jesus behaved perfectly.

Where we get it twisted as Christians is we think Jesus saved us to make us better law keepers., better religious people who do the right things for God now that we are saved. But that is where we fail and miss the very blessings promised to us because we go in our own righteousness of works and not based on grace through faith in the finished work of Jesus.

Man's religion never changes. We think if we do good we deserved good. Yes., even us Christians who believe in Jesus and His salvation. Many of us believe we are saved by grace through faith... But we don't live our Christians lives the same way we were saved. And we must!

We must know that we walk by grace (undeserved love and favor from God) through faith in Christ finished work on our behalf. He is the One who goes before us and we follow and learn how to walk in the new spirit Jesus gave us when we were made new creations in Christ. Old things have passed away behold all things have become new.

When we try to be righteous through our flesh., and not in the spirit., our works are wood hay and stubble. When we walk in the Spirit our works are fine gold, silver and precious stones. The fruits of the Spirit are not called the fruits of the flesh. This is major to know.

And another.... no heresy., no false teaching....

Hi guys! (including you ladies too) Yes I know.... this is not what we have been traditionally taught in the Baptist church. But you have to admit there are many things we have been taught that we had to un learn concerning God that we were taught in the world., or the other churches we went to for that matter.

I was taught in the Catholic church that Mary was the mother of God and was co-equal with God. Among other very wrong teachings concerning God and His ways. We were taught that God was much like the Greek Gods who played crazy make no sense games with humans. Always testing us to see if we would listen or ignore His rules and regulations so we could be put in the "good" section and be accepted for that day.

These wrong concepts of God had to be cleared up in time by many of us who have been saved. We needed the truth concerning God from the Bible. Not ideas coming from certain religions we came from or even parents that we had who may have abused us or just were uncaring or not available. Just look at the many different people that come to CC. We all have differing ideas based on differing experiences based on differing countries and nations in the world.

Look at the different threads started by different people here. Each one of us have certain subjects we are into and want to discuss. There is nothing wrong with our different personalities because God made each one of us unique. But when it comes to the truth., the Bible is of no private interpretation so we can't take a Bible verse and build a religion on it. Yet that is what many (even Christians) have done.

Take the book of Job for instance. We were always taught that he was (the whole time) a man to follow in the foot steps of. But I've since discovered a few things about Job's beliefs that are not in agreement with what the Bible says about God. And so I have endeavored to share it here with those who are willing to reason together.

Paul Ellis is pretty cool IMO. I like his teachings on different things. Although we don't agree concerning some of the end times issues of the church. I am looking forward to Jesus coming for the church in what many of us call "the rapture" But that's ok Paul E. isn't on the same page as me.

In the next post I'll show some of the things PE says about Job. At the end of the book, Job found out some major truths about God he didn't know before and he was set straight by God (as we have been) These men of faith in the Bible were flawed and although they are examples of how us humans can fail and then come to our senses and learn to follow God., the bigger lessons are to show how gracious our God is in showing love and grace and mercy to us when we fail. How His love never fails although we often do.
And another.... no heresy.
