Thanks so much for asking, GG. You're very perceptive. I've been feeling down a lot these past few days. Just some stuff weighing on my mind about life in general and dealing with a recurrence of old pinched nerves is not helping, but it seems to be getting slowly better. I've been laying off the guitar which was about the only thing that brought me joy. But I'm feeling better today. ♥
I love the show. It matches people with dogs that need rehoming. I am shocked at the amount of people who need the dog as much as the dogs need a new home. People need them for different reasons. Spouses dying, loneliness etc. One guy and his wife wanted a dog because the guy is in a wheelchair and is at home 24/7. His wife is at work all day and he is lonely and therefore depressed. He needed something to help him live again so they paired him up with a very affectionate and mischievous bull terrier. Well that was it. This guy and the dog got on so well and now he goes out taking the dog everywhere and the dog loves it. It was so cute. I am also shocked at how quickly a dog can trust a person even after having gone through trauma from its previous owners. I think the show is brilliant, I wonder if they have the same kind of show about cats
Now that's a match made in Heaven. It sounds like they're calling him Duke, one of my doggie's names. What a perfect gift God made for us, pets who love us unconditionally. Thx for sharing this, I know about 2 dozen other FB friends who will flip over this.
Here in the States, we have one called Pit Bulls and Parolees. Pretty much the same concept. I don't watch it. Some of the Parolees are hard on the eyes......
I know this concept of "Godly fear" concerns some people. Understanding that this type of "fear" is not the "fear" we normally experience. As in fearing the boogeyman, or some such. Godly fear includes (and, IMO, is born of reverence) for and of God. Here are some Scriptures concerning Godly fear:
Proverbs 9:10 - The fear of the LORD is the beginning of wisdom: and the knowledge of the holy is understanding.
Proverbs 8:13 - The fear of the LORD is to hate evil: pride, and arrogancy, and the evil way, and the froward mouth, do I hate.
Philippians 2:12-13 - Wherefore, my beloved, as ye have always obeyed, not as in my presence only, but now much more in my absence, work out your own salvation with fear and trembling. (Read More...)
Exodus 20:7 - Thou shalt not take the name of the LORD thy God in vain; for the LORD will not hold him guiltless that taketh his name in vain.
Exodus 20:18-22 - And all the people saw the thunderings, and the lightnings, and the noise of the trumpet, and the mountain smoking: and when the people saw it, they removed, and stood afar off. (Read More...)
Good afternnon/evening/morning all... How is your weekend going. It seems to have been a bit busier this week will have to do a bit of reading to catch up .. well, it's an excuse to sit and surf with a coffee .
I have not seen that one... but I have watched so many animal rescue videos on youtube (mostly dog/puppy rescues, but all kinds of animal rescues and other heartwarming stories concerning the bonds animals and humans have/make) that no matter what I go to the tube to look for, rescue videos and the like come up in the sidebar. Yesterday one came up about a dog who had had the end of its muzzle shot off with a gun. It was heart breaking to see the animal in so much pain due to the cruelty of some callous brutal heartless human The dog was rescued and treated, rehabilitated, and a forever home found for it. I saw a dog something like that in my neighborhood recently, missing the front part of its muzzle/mouth. I think it takes a really special type of person to adopt a dog like that... not just special needs, but not as cute as many others. And of course there is no accounting for taste LOL bulldogs being a case in point Some even specialize in a certain breed, rescuing pit bulls for instance, and I must admit, as much as I love animals in general and dogs more specifically, I would be very hesitant myself to adopt one of that breed.
