I am not a Catholic nor a Protestant.
J.
impossible the protestant reformation brought about the separation From the catholic church. There is no way to avoid having church beliefs from the protestant reformation..

Also its a bit like there ls no way to avoid mental illness.

And mental illness is a serious condition.

By observing your wiffs gaffs I would say this is describing you to a "T"-if there is an underlying problem I would reckon see a doctor-although this case is irreversible.

Go ahead-you bring nothing of importance to the table and seem unable to assimilate biblical data put in front of you.

I'll it take only your interpretation is of importance then.

Unless I'm mistaken your interpretation suggests water baptism means absolutely nothing

2) "And of laying on of hands," (epitheseos te cheiron) "And of (the) laying on of hands," in ordination, as a symbol of committed trust to a special service, or purpose, Lev_1:4; Num_8:10-11; Act_13:2-3. There was a laying on of hands by the apostles, for a limited time, that ceased with completion of the New Testament, by which special spiritual Gifts of the Holy Spirit were conferred, Act_8:13-21; Act_19:6; 1Ti_5:22.

3) "And of resurrection of the dead," (anastaseos nekron) "Of a resurrection of dead bodies," of people who have died, Joh_5:18; Joh_5:29; Act_17:31-32; The resurrection of the bodies of the righteous dead is such an established fact or truth, a case made out, that controversy or doubt should not linger about it, Act_23:8; 1Co_15:12; Luk_14:14; Joh_11:24; Act_24:15.

2) "Let us go on unto perfection," (epi ten teleioteta phreometha) "Let us be gently ferried or borne (carried along) to or toward maturity;” The appeal is for these brethren of the Jerusalem church to grow beyond a Judaeo-Christian catechism knowledge of the word of God, Heb_7:11-19.

3) "Not laying again the foundation," (me palin themelion kataballomenoi) "Not again laying down a foundation;” on which to build a worthwhile life, the following six elementary teachings of Christ, which they already understood, as the milk of the word. 1Co_3:3; 1Co_3:10-11, not repeating initial matters.

4) "Of repentance from dead works;”(metanoias apo nekron ergon) "Of repentance from dead or unfruitful works," but a loathing of sin, such as we had before salvation, Heb_9:14; 2Co_7:11; Act_3:19. When one is saved from hell it is forever, but he should live a life of service and gratitude to God, Eph_2:10.

5) "And of faith toward God," (kai pisteos epi theon) "And of faith (upon) toward God," which Paul preached as the basis of a sinner's becoming a child of God; but thereafter he desired that they go on to become servants of God and stewards of God, Act_20:1; Mar_1:15; Luk_24:47; Rom_6:16-18; 1Co_4:2.

no answer what so ever only a load of copy and paste from doctrines

Can you not answer for yourself.

Blain suggested you should seek the lord for answers.

And I'm suggesting you should also.

I'll Ask you the question again.

Do you believe there is anything special about water baptism.

I guess you didn't read all of my post. I acknowledge that is spiritual baptism because the bible tells me so. However, those verses are looking forward to the outpouring of the HS. When we actually look to see who the bible tells us were actually baptized WITH the HS, it only happened two times and each was a special situation.
I’ve heard people talk about spiritual baptism. I’m not aware of the bible telling us or alluding to a baptism of/by the HS. I’m hoping this discussion will help me to understand how some come to this conclusion and the scriptural support for it.

Let me first give my basic current understanding on the topic and my concerns. My concern is this “spiritual” baptism is being used to replace water baptism and make water baptism of no effect. If it does actually replace water baptism then great, I want to know and understand.

I understand what the transliterated word “baptism” means. I understand that it’s used in various ways. For this discussion, I would like to stick to baptisms role in conversion. I want to understand what the bible tells us about water and "spiritual" baptism.

I do believe there is a spiritual baptism because the bible tells me so. “Baptized with the Holy Spirit” However, baptism with the HS only happened twice and each one was for a very important specific purpose. The first was the beginning of the church on Pentecost and the other was the first Gentile converts. These were directly from God and evident by speaking in tongues.

Please do not use these two to prove "spiritual baptism". I acknowledge this is spiritual baptism. If you believe they were not special situations, then since they are not special you should be able to use the other conversions to prove your point.

Now God has given us His word so we can understand these things. I trust God has chosen the right words to tell us about these things so we can understand. So please use scripture to make your point and tell me how that scripture supports your point.
++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++

As I noticed, there are 2 kinds of baptism.
One is from John The Baptist (water unto repentance)
While the other is from Jesus (Holy Ghost and with Fire)

MATTHEW 3:11
11 I indeed baptize you with water unto repentance. but he that cometh after me is mightier than I, whose shoes I am not worthy to bear: he shall baptize you with the Holy Ghost, and with fire:

What are the importance of the 2 baptism?

According to John the Baptist, whoever not baptized by him will cast into the fire.

MATTHEW 3:10
10 And now also the axe is laid unto the root of the trees: therefore every tree which bringeth not forth good fruit is hewn down, and cast into the fire.

Perhaps this is the reason, why every denomination in Christianity is doing the ritual of baptism.

What is the meaning of the baptism of John with water unto repentance?

“That is, those who responded had received first hearing. Without this hearing, faith or belief is not possible. “

beother “ hearing is established by those he sent to preach the gospel his everlasting word it’s just a matter of hearing the truth and either acknolwedging it or rejecting it if we don’t just accept and talk about what baptism is no one’s ever going to hear it

“How then shall they call on him in whom they have not believed? and how shall they believe in him of whom they have not heard? and how shall they hear without a preacher? And how shall they preach, except they be sent? as it is written, How beautiful are the feet of them that preach the gospel of peace, and bring glad tidings of good things! But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report? So then faith cometh by hearing, and hearing by the word of God.”
‭‭Romans‬ ‭10:14-17‬ ‭KJV‬‬

Peter first preached about Jesus life death and resurrection then he said o response to “ what shall we do ?” He said repent and be baptized in Jesus name for remission of sins “

And you’ll receive the Holy Ghost “

For God to work in us we have to accept what he said is my point to hear what he said someone has to say “hey look what he said here “ God knows who’ll hear and get baptized but we’re not looking at it from his perspective from ours it’s a free Will choice based on if we believe he died for our sins God isn’t refusing anyone a chance to repent brother he’s made a way for all to repent and be saved sin in the end everyone is justly rewarded whether good or evil having accepted or rejected the gospel that can save them if they believe
Also, the scripture specifically mentions the need to call on Jesus, and that not all have obeyed the gospel. (Rom. 10:14, 17)

Since the gospel is defined as the death, burial and resurrection of Jesus how does one obey it? (1 Cor. 15:1-4) All must repent (death), be water baptized in the name of Jesus, (burial) and receive the Holy Spirit (resurrection). Mark 16:15-16; Matthew 28:18-20; and Acts 2:38 confirm this.

It is noteworthy that the one who penned these words, Saul who became the Apostle Paul, obeyed the gospel as seen in Acts 22:16: "And now why tarriest thou, Arise, and be baptized, and wash away thy sins, calling upon the name of the Lord."

1) "Of the doctrine of baptism," (baptismon didasches) "Of teaching regarding (of) baptisms," of total washings that symbolized cleansing in Jewish Law, Mar_1:44; Luk_5:14, as the burial-washing of church baptism symbolizes the total gospel picture of the death, burial, and resurrection of Christ, personal faith in or through which one is saved, Rom_1:16; 1Co_15:1-4.

4) "And of eternal judgement," (kai krimatos aioniou) "And of an eternal judgement;” Act_24:15; Rom_2:16. These six things named or stated above are declared to be beginning, foundation, or elementary principles of the teachings of Christ; beyond which children should soon mature, and go on in greater comprehension of Divine principles and practical service to the Lord, thru the church, the house of God which Jesus built and is building, enlarging even today, Heb_3:1; Heb_3:6; Mat_16:18; Mar_13:34-37; 1Ti_3:15; Eph_2:19-22.

1) "Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ," (dio aphentes ton tes arches tou christou logon) "Wherefore leaving (of our own accord) the beginning things (principles or concepts) of the word of Christ," Php_3:12-14. The writer calls upon the "Holy brethren, partakers of the heavenly calling," Heb_3:1; Mat_28:18-20, to advance beyond the milk of the word or rudiments of Christian tenets to stronger meat of the word, ; 1Pe_3:18.

You are NOT past this stage-(ἀφέντες τὸν τῆς ἀρχῆς τοῦ Χριστοῦ λόγον)-and no-I don't claim to "know it all"
J. .
The scripture reveals elements relative to the NT foundation. Note it mentions "not laying AGAIN the foundation," indicating it must be laid. That is the point.

Many fail to realize that after believing in Jesus, obedience to water baptism in the name of Jesus is a required element of the NT rebirth along with receiving the indwelling presence of the Holy Ghost. Further the scripture explains that AFTER the foundation is laid, newborn Christians are to go on unto perfection; meaning to mature in Christ Jesus.

In Matthew 7:23, there are those who thought they were mature Christians yet they had never even been reborn. Jesus said, "I NEVER knew you." Immediately afterward, Jesus reveals the importance of laying a foundation. There are disastrous results for those who built without a foundation. Their lifelong efforts were all for naught.

Heb 6:1-2
"Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God, 2 Of the doctrine of baptisms, and of laying on of hands, and of resurrection of the dead, and of eternal judgment."

"elementary teachings about the Christ"
NKJV"the discussion of the elementary principles of Christ"
NRSV"the basic teachings about Christ"
TEV"the first lessons of the Christian message"

The Greek term archē has a large semantical field . The basic thrust is the beginning of some thing (the first cause of authority/rule). It is the contextual opposite of teleios ("maturity" Heb. 6:1b).

The problem of understanding this phrase is that the principles enumerated in Heb. 6:1-2 do not relate to the Messiah as much as traditional teachings of Judaism. This is one of the textual reason for the supposition that the book was written to a Jewish synagogue audience (cf. Heb. 10:25) of both believing and unbelieving Jews (cf. R. C. Graze, No Easy Salvation).

Wherefore (dio). Because of the argument already made about the difficulty of the subject and the dulness of the readers.

Let us cease to speak (aphentes ton logon). Second aorist active participle of aphiēmi, to leave off or behind.

Diametrically opposed to what you are saying--^^^^^^^

Of the first principles of Christ (tēs archēs tou Christou). Objective genitive Christou (about Christ). “Leaving behind the discussion of the beginning about Christ,” another way of saying again ta stoicheia tēs archēs tōn logiōn tou theou of Heb_5:12.

For emphasis.

And press on (kai pherōmetha). Volitive present subjunctive passive, “Let us be borne on” (both the writer and the readers). The Pythagorean Schools use pherōmetha in precisely this sense of being borne on to a higher stage of instruction. Bleek quotes several instances of Greek writers using together as here of aphentes pherōmetha (Eurip., Androm. 393, for instance).

Unto perfection (epi tēn teleiotēta). Old word from teleios mature, adults as in Heb_5:14. Only twice in N.T. (here and Col_3:14).

Let us go on to the stage of adults, not babes, able to masticate solid spiritual food. The writer will assume that the readers are adults in his discussion of the topic.

Not laying again the foundation (mē palin themelion kataballomenoi). The regular idiom for laying down the foundation of a building (themelion, Luk_6:48.). The metaphor is common (1Co_3:11) and the foundation is important, but one cannot be laying the foundation always if he is to build the house.

There are six items mentioned here as part of the “foundation,” though the accusative didachēn in apposition with themelion may mean that there are only four included in the themelion. Two are qualitative genitives after themelion (metanoias and pisteōs). What is meant by “dead works” (apo nekrōn ergōn) is not clear (Heb_9:14), though the reference may be to touching a corpse (Num_19:1.; Num_31:19). There are frequent allusions to the deadening power of sin (Jas_2:17, Jas_2:26; Joh_7:25; Rom_6:1, Rom_6:11; Rom_7:8; Col_2:13; Eph_2:1, Eph_2:5). The use of repentance and faith together occurs also elsewhere (Mar_1:15; Act_20:21; 1Th_1:9).

I have laid the foundation, and another buildeth thereon. But let every man take heed how he buildeth thereupon.

For other foundation can no man lay than that is laid, which is Jesus Christ.

Laying up in store for themselves a good foundation against the time to come, that they may lay hold on eternal life.

2Ti_2:19
Nevertheless the foundation of God standeth sure, having this seal, The Lord knoweth them that are his. And, Let every one that nameth the name of Christ depart from iniquity.

Heb_4:3 For we which have believed do enter into rest, as he said, As I have sworn in my wrath, if they shall enter into my rest: although the works were finished from the foundation of the world.

Heb_6:1 Therefore leaving the principles of the doctrine of Christ, let us go on unto perfection; not laying again the foundation of repentance from dead works, and of faith toward God,

Heb_9:26 For then must he often have suffered since the foundation of the world: but now once in the end of the world hath he appeared to put away sin by the sacrifice of himself.

Rev_13:8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

Rev_17:8 The beast that thou sawest was, and is not; and shall ascend out of the bottomless pit, and go into perdition: and they that dwell on the earth shall wonder, whose names were not written in the book of life from the foundation of the world, when they behold the beast that was, and is not, and yet is.
Rev_21:19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald;

no answer what so ever only a load of copy and paste from doctrines

Can you not answer for yourself.

Blain suggested you should seek the lord for answers.

And I'm suggesting you should also.

I'll Ask you the question again.

Do you believe there is anything special about water baptism.
Do you believe in baptismal regeneration? Any saving efficacy in hudati? Guess I can baptize my cat and pray it will be a "regenerated cat" but it is still a cat. If you can't read I pray this will be for the edification to others who aren't so settled and dogmatic in their nous.
See-I can speak my mind-you can't

The gospel is not about a only Jesus dying and being raised that’s certainly foundational but the gospel is what he preached as well regarding eternal life in his kingdom repentance and belief of the gospel baptism is just one act of faith we’re meant to change from those in rebellion to those in obedience

We could just run and get baptized and never repent or never believe the gospel at all and it’s not going to help in any way . Repentance comes before baptism obedience follows being born again

I think you did 😂

But you dropped a hint. Touching on faithful friends, I like the part about seek advice from one in thousand. I don't know whether I could gain a thousand friends, but I put my faith in where all one family really.
And we can be joined in prayer

My issues I had with friends is so many times I have been betrayed, i did at one time start to out new friendships to the sword to test my friendship.

It Was probably the biggest mistake I made in my life with one friend.

I've since learned to forgive being betrayed, so i no longer suffer that way. But betrayal is a hard one to forgive

but I could imagine many people do here.

i mean put friendships to the tests.

its a shame really,

it probably would not happen if name calling was banned all together 😔.

I guess people will be people
Well the thing is not everyone is blessed in life with with real bonds I understand what you went through all my life people act like they are close they are more than willing to act nice and kind but when people just seem to put on a facade I mean all my life people have taken advantage of me they see my kindness my willingness and somehwta niavneness and use it that is why I am where I am now

But one can take that and adopt it and then become isoloated by choice but humans were not built to be by ourselves our weakness our hurt our flaws I have this connect people more than anything even the strongest of warriors have their limits and if there is no one to catch you when you fall you will not get back up because trute strength is based on those around you not what strength you youself have

So having one person just one person who who know that you will be there for them when they fall and they will be there when you fall, this decides what actual strength is the same is with God and the scriptures we never will have the full truth ourselves we are a body not a single cell an army wins a war not a single warrior there is strength in numbers.

So we all have our beliefs we have our doctrines but it seems like a war rather than seeking the truth of his heart together not a team but single force against another I didn't have anyone when I fell in my life so while I still tried to be strong I went into a very dark place I cannot begin to explain the darkness because it would take to many posts but without someone you can always lean on even if you try to be stong you will always fall again.

bonds are what make us strong the connections we forge God himself is so powerful he can think a thought and make everything how he deems it but he instead tends to use us he is one of bonds faith love life all these things were never based on a singular person or thought thre connection the heart to heart that is how he has alaways worked because that is what love is love naturally flows into others it impacts and brings tears it softens hardens hearts but never based on one person or thing there is always someone or something else to not just start that connection but to bring it to an unmovable force

It just takes one person to be that kind of friend to bring someone from the brink of despair and we all go through despair many hide their weakness on here many do not open themselves because the image they leave is that they are not strong they are not what we claim to be many do not speak of their issues their sins their hurting and this is why we need to let go we need to iopen to each other we need to seek what truth and love really is together not against each other

instead of contuing the cycle we have even if people cannot see it we have to change how we do things because it clearly is not effective yes some good is done but this what we see here this is what faith is this is what love is this is what Jesus wanted us to be?
It doesn't add up look at the first church sure they had their sqabbles but they were always there for each other earnestly praying deep within their hearts for each other even in prison the love they had for their brethen was clearly felt when reafing it

It isn't like I want to bash or attack people but this site well known online for it's reputation of scaring people away for being cruel name calling attacking debating there are youtube channels of people who have come here and spoken of this some even commited suicided one of which I tried to help in the past but I lost him

That hurt me bad and changed how I saw things this truth we claim but the results show otherwise I wept over Christian chat the first time I came back you know how Jesus wanted to to just embrace Israel in his arms and wept for them? I understood what he felt in that moment

I wish I could just show
I think you did 😂

A lot of times when one has not been so lucky in life to have trustworthy friendships it is a natural response to react how you did you need not feel shame it is a natural defenceive mechanism you have been betrayed lied to used to many times so you put up a barrier you test because while you want an actual ttue bond you cannot let your heart get hurt again

And people were not built to be stong on their own even the strongest of warriors have their limits but it only takes one person who can be more lthan a brother to bring someone from the brink of despair to life I was there for you and now that I have fallen you are being there for me that is what real strength is

Can I ask you what regenerating baptism is to you? and have you truly recieved it? if so how did it change you what is the right way to recieve the ttue thing? like if i told you and expressed what these waters fell like would understand or just just rebuke it?

The waters I have known are so soothing and healing to your body like you breath for the first time in your life even though you have been breathing since birth how your soul and every inner being is serene peaceful alive like when you hold your breath for a long time and then take in air you get a taste of his calmness as still waters a healing sensation in your body soul and spirit is this what yopu experienced? i8f not what is this to you and what has it done for you how does one who seeks it obtain it?
