You neglected to add Luke 20 16. According to your understanding, christ is saying in luke 19 26 He wants his servants to bring to him his enemies and kill them at his feet. And luke 20 16 says God will come and kill the tenants of the earth b/c they killed his son.
Luke 19 26 is a parable. reminds me of joshua, saying come put your feet on these kings necks, but thats not what he said, nor did he quote any old testament verses there, although he surely could have found a few....If you want to say he was led by the holy spirit to say this, then would he have told Zacchius to return what he had stolen? Or would he not have fell dead at christ feet? Acts 5 3
Luke 20 16 Here he is standing in the midst of those who were saying God/ Holy Spirit led them to kill, burn, take etc. The same spirit they claimed was leading them to kill him, while christ stood. right. in. front of them. He is saying here i am, here is the father, here is the holy spirit, if someone is leading you kill me, then, who is the lord??? In a way, their god did kill them, to twist a truth saying, god led them attack the nations around them, and the nations around them attacked them. Saying God would kill men on earth, because of the actions of one nation doesn't seem likely, and is counter to doctring, maybe there is a greater truth here, having to do with the reason men have wars and men die at all. But if you want to believe men die b/c God is vengeful and christ is saying, i will have my servants kill you if you do not acknowledge my divinity/ kingship/lordship or whatever, then the israelites were right, all along, b/c that is what they did for jehovah, and why, then, was he so mad at them?
