I feel like many posts have been directed to myself and like I have become the enemy in some eyes. I will graciously kick myself from this thread but I will be back in another soon enough lol

I have a hard time shutting my mouth, it can be both a strength and a stumbling block, God directs my paths so it is joy to me to take instruction because "Father knows best".

I wish you would quit that. It is posts like this one that confuse me and mislead me to think that you actually CAN be conversant.... and I used to let my guard down, and try. Then, you would revert to the disorganized, convoluted, meaningless strings of posts that usually bear your name. But, I am slowly learning not to be duped by these "flashes in the pan."
Maybe the way I express myself is just different to you willie.
I tend to jump concepts rather than expand on just one.

Meaningless strings is a bit harsh. Some would say I make things too
complicated, or too involved.

And can I encourage you to not have a guard, and just let it be.
I am beginning to learn more about your style, and how defended you are,
so I need a different approach. Thankfully it is always a learning experience.

Why didn't your wife step in?
Different families, different styles. We are what we are and families have
to find their own balance. It is why books and rules work to a degree,
but real empathy matters more.

I am too busy looking at Jesus to see enemies.
Was feeling kind of beaten down, so was planning on taking a break, but didn't want you to leave believing the lie that I viewed you as an enemy.

Why do people believe that the forums are a place to teach or learn deep theological truths.

This is not a church. Its not even really a Bible study, because most people don't do their homework.

Did my original post make you think I was trying to lecture and teach anyone anything?
WHAT?

I have been short changed. It said on the door this is where we get all our
internal problems sorted, out. False advertising, call the regulator.

The guy at the door seemed odd, did not ask me anything.

And where are the professionals, who you pay bucket loads to and often
do no better the placebo, lol....

How do you heal from the abuse or help others heal?

I am not sure. Perhaps you could tell me. I only know God healed me through prayer and love of true born again believers.

I thought if we looked at how physical, emotional and mental abused survivors recover, might help us learn how we might help those who are spiritually abused also.
The topic isn't abuse but how do you heal?

This isn't a teaching thread, it's meant to be a listening and healing thread (with a ton of unposted prayers.)

One of the ways i heard is support groups and talking about our experiences. Prayers and love and time to allow God to heal the soul. To tell the Truth of God's love and forgiveness.

Thus the small group formation. Might be a dumb idea and as has been bluntly stated its not run by professional license folks, but maybe God's Holy Spirit will be enough for some healing to occur.

The interesting thing is we all need healing and growth.

One simple test about "Do I need healing?" is to ask "how open am I?"
If you cannot talk about family, friends, how you feel, work, your past,
incidents that have shaken you up, then probably you need healing.

I find when I think about some people, suddenly a whole load of issues
come up. I need to work through them, apply forgiveness and try and
think positive approaches to overcome the situation, and maybe casually
talk about it, by the way, to give them space to adjust, to think, and to
know it is not a problem.

How well do you empathise? If someone in a large amount of emotional
trauma, do you just freeze or know what to do?

I did a study once on healing of the spirit. The Lord is 100% more concerned
with who you are and how you operate than on signs and wonders, yet so few
seek healing and prayer for wounds that suck the life out of them.

Worry, anxiety, insecurity about the future, relationship breakdown, family
crisis, these all can mount up to point of collapse. But a little sharing, a few
words, a small time of prayer, and things can change.

The fear of such steps, can be much greater than the issues themselves, but
healing is there, we know our Lord is willing and able.

I have learned incredibly alot from scripture and because the word of God is alive and sharper than any two edged sword, I continue to learn and have my eyes opened

honestly Stephen...for a supposedly mature adult male, a long time Christian...you know...if you are not part of the answer, then you are part of the problem
All I see is you being mouthy at other people, as if you have all the answers. So far, all your mouth has done is heated up the room.

yes I do

pentecostal

definitely a trigger since the American Pentecostal Assemblies is basically responsible for what myself and many others went through because they did not rein in their star evangelist and instead allowed him to run through the country with his demons and spread them far and wide

yeah

Pentecostal

hate that word

and you can call me joe blow...since Lauren is not my real name anyway
Well, now we've learned something from this thread.

LaurenTM hates me because I'm Pentecostal, because a Pentecostal denomination burned her.

It's just as someone said..... "those abused become abusers themselves."

It totally makes sense now why she would slam me for making a simple statement. "Pentecostal" triggers her.

These aren't my words.....

I wonder if anyone else is triggered by that word?

Haven't read post, but for those who want a more closed private discussion, I invite you to this group. Post should only be seen by members.

http://christianchat.com/group.php?groupid=595

Note: we will kick all jerks and disruptive people from the group. If you repeat anything you learn there maliciously, you will be kicked. Once this group is established it will become invite only.

I have to complete some things for my daughter's class tomorrow...we are having a book tasting and i need to make the centerpieces and menus.
Do you know who those jerks are?

Those they think are out to get them, that they believe don't like them.

Those that post scripture to them, for they hate anybody that they think preaches down to them.

Guess that tells me where I'm at on her list.

Jesus is the Good Shepherd who will go out after one lost sheep..

bad shepherds are not a new thing...read the following from the book of Ezekiel..a major prophet from the OT

1The word of the Lord came to me: 2“Son of man, prophesy against the shepherds of Israel; prophesy and say to them: ‘This is what the Sovereign Lord says: Woe to you shepherds of Israel who only take care of yourselves! Should not shepherds take care of the flock? 3You eat the curds, clothe yourselves with the wool and slaughter the choice animals, but you do not take care of the flock. 4You have not strengthened the weak or healed the sick or bound up the injured. You have not brought back the strays or searched for the lost. You have ruled them harshly and brutally. 5So they were scattered because there was no shepherd, and when they were scattered they became food for all the wild animals.

6My sheep wandered over all the mountains and on every high hill. They were scattered over the whole earth, and no one searched or looked for them.
7“ ‘Therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 8As surely as I live, declares the Sovereign Lord, because my flock lacks a shepherd and so has been plundered and has become food for all the wild animals, and because my shepherds did not search for my flock but cared for themselves rather than for my flock, 9therefore, you shepherds, hear the word of the Lord: 10This is what the Sovereign Lord says: I am against the shepherds and will hold them accountable for my flock. I will remove them from tending the flock so that the shepherds can no longer feed themselves. I will rescue my flock from their mouths, and it will no longer be food for them.

see, sheep are still wandering and looking for good pasture and clean waters

let's not forget that every single Christian belongs to God because of Jesus and not to a particular church or denomination...so each of us can sow seeds of discord or we can sow the love of God and let those seeds grow

Stephen, you are the top of my prayer list. I pray every day that you stop talking enough and listen, so I can take you off ignore.

Hasn't happen yet, but I have hope.

I had Lauren on ignore for a week before we learned to respect and love one another. (sorry Lauren, just telling the truth. We had a rough beginning)
