John was talking to Israel. The godly remnant would be baptized in spirit, the ungodly in Israel would be baptized in fire.
But he said He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire and the chaff will be burned with unquenchable fire

Here is a great video on the "fire" from the Holy Spirit on the day of Pentecost in Acts 2....don't let man's reasoning rob you of what the Lord has done for us and will do in our lives....His love is mighty towards us.

You can't even distinguish false teaching from sound teaching. Why would we trust any more videos that you post.

as of fire:

When the Day of Pentecost had fully come, they were all with one accord[a]*in one place.*2*And suddenly there came a sound from heaven, as of a rushing mighty wind, and it filled the whole house where they were sitting.*3*Then there appeared to them divided tongues, as of fire, and*one*sat upon each of them.*4*And they were all filled with the Holy Spirit and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.
It doesn't say it was fire, but 'tongues as if of fire'. Just like the spirit descending upon Jesus wasn't a dove, but appeared as one.

But he said He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire and the chaff will be burned with unquenchable fire
He was talking to the heads of Israel about Israel's destiny: some to glory, some to judgment.

It appears some do not want the scriptures to get in the way of what they believe..

..it is just man's reasoning to dismiss the power of God and the Holy Spirit in our lives....in effect they are the very ones "denying their Lord and Master"...and are resisting the Spirit of grace.....

..I say.."Let Your fire come on us my Lord!...let the brilliance and radiance of your fiery love burn though us to a hurt and dying world. "

777, please post all the Reinhart videos you run across. That man has more of God in his little finger than most people do in their whole bodies.

Amen, Lord. Let your fire come upon him.

It doesn't say it was fire, but 'tongues as if of fire'. Just like the spirit descending upon Jesus wasn't a dove, but appeared as one.
Maybe the other text is clearer.

For He*is*like a refiner’s fire
And like launderers’ soap.
3*He will sit as a refiner and a purifier of silver;
He will purify the sons of Levi,
And purge them as gold and silver

Judgment on Ephraim and Jerusalem

Isaiah 28
28 Ah, the proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim,
and the fading flower of its glorious beauty,
which is on the head of the rich valley of those overcome with wine!
[SUP]2 [/SUP]Behold, the Lord has one who is mighty and strong;
like a storm of hail, a destroying tempest,
like a storm of mighty, overflowing waters,
he casts down to the earth with his hand.
[SUP]3 [/SUP]The proud crown of the drunkards of Ephraim
will be trodden underfoot;
[SUP]4 [/SUP]and the fading flower of its glorious beauty,
which is on the head of the rich valley,
will be like a first-ripe fig before the summer:
when someone sees it, he swallows it
as soon as it is in his hand.

[SUP]5 [/SUP]In that day the Lord of hosts will be a crown of glory,[SUP][a][/SUP]
and a diadem of beauty, to the remnant of his people,
[SUP]6 [/SUP]and a spirit of justice to him who sits in judgment,
and strength to those who turn back the battle at the gate.

[SUP]7 [/SUP]These also reel with wine
and stagger with strong drink;
the priest and the prophet reel with strong drink,
they are swallowed by[SUP][b][/SUP] wine,
they stagger with strong drink,
they reel in vision,
they stumble in giving judgment.
[SUP]8 [/SUP]For all tables are full of filthy vomit,
with no space left.

[SUP]9 [/SUP]“To whom will he teach knowledge,
and to whom will he explain the message?
Those who are weaned from the milk,
those taken from the breast?
[SUP]10 [/SUP]For it is precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, there a little.”

[SUP]11 [/SUP]For by people of strange lips
and with a foreign tongue
the Lord will speak to this people,
[SUP]12 [/SUP] to whom he has said,
“This is rest;
give rest to the weary;
and this is repose”;
yet they would not hear.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]And the word of the Lord will be to them
precept upon precept, precept upon precept,
line upon line, line upon line,
here a little, there a little,
that they may go, and fall backward,
and be broken, and snared, and taken.

Matthew 3
[SUP]7 [/SUP]But when he saw many of the Pharisees and Sadducees coming to his baptism, he said to them, “You brood of vipers! Who warned you to flee from the wrath to come? [SUP]8 [/SUP]Bear fruit in keeping with repentance. [SUP]9 [/SUP]And do not presume to say to yourselves, ‘We have Abraham as our father,’ for I tell you, God is able from these stones to raise up children for Abraham. [SUP]10 [/SUP]Even now the axe is laid to the root of the trees. Every tree therefore that does not bear good fruit is cut down and thrown into the fire.

[SUP]11 [/SUP]“I baptize you with water for repentance, but he who is coming after me is mightier than I, whose sandals I am not worthy to carry. He will baptize you with the Holy Spirit and fire. [SUP]12 [/SUP]His winnowing fork is in his hand, and he will clear his threshing floor and gather his wheat into the barn, but the chaff he will burn with unquenchable fire.”

On the day of Pentecost, a judgment took place on the unbelieving Jews.

There is a fire in speaking in tongues that can be flamed up. Paul told Timothy to "kindle sfresh" the gift which was in him by the laying on of hands. Paul laid hands on Timothy to receive the Holy Spirit when he was young and started speaking in tongues. Paul was encouraging him to keep praying in tongues to keep him strong in his spirit and mind.

Kindle afresh means to "to fan into flame"... ( word pictures in the NT A. T. Robertson )

2 Timothy 1:6-7 (NASB)
[SUP]6 [/SUP] For this reason I remind you to kindle afresh the gift of God which is in you through the laying on of my hands.
[SUP]7 [/SUP] For God has not given us a spirit of timidity, but of power and love and discipline.

On the day of Pentecost, a judgment took place on the unbelieving Jews.
Yes and it empowered the apostles to do the Acts of the apostles and thousands got saved, to them it was a blessing, those Jews got sanctified:

Then Peter said to them, “Repent, and let every one of you be baptized in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins; and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Spirit.*39*For the promise is to you and to your children, and to all who are afar off, as many as the Lord our God will call.”

Believers don't remain in the fire of trials. Once they are purified they come out of it. These false teachers teach that fire is the thing to seek and remain in.

The coming of Jesus is judgement.
Ehm yeah to His enemies, not for everyone.

Well. Y'all can be craving to be thrown into the "river of fire" all you want. I'm happy with the Spirit of Truth abiding in me. Don't need any special superhuman powers to validate my faith.

Jeremiah 20:9
KJ21

Then I said, “I will not make mention of Him, nor speak any more in His name.” But His word was in mine heart as a burning fire shut up in my bones; and I was weary with forbearing, and I could not hold back.

We need to be full of the Holy Spirit always and of His passion for the lost. God is a consuming fire, so if we're full of Him we're full of fire too.

That's a whole different thing than the serpent's kundalini fire.
