Tattoos are not the mark of the beast.

The law dont speak about them tattoos in a positive light tho:

Leviticus 19:28 You shall not make any cuttings in your flesh for the dead, nor print any marks on you: I am the LORD.

Do you really got something that important to say that you gotta permanently print it on ya? Most of the tattoos are dumb designs anyway. Aint it strange how people always claim they get tattoos "for themselves" and not for other people? As if they could see their own back tattoo.

When I was younger I was a completely different person and have had a lot of tattoo work done. Some people condemn me because of this ink and say it goes against God. I would tell them the bible says to decorate your temple and this body is my spirits temple. In Deuteronomy 14:2 it is written that there should be no mark on the body of symbols or names of different gods. In Timothy it is implied that the body should not be a source of drawn attention. So, should one feel ashamed for tattoos? Does this ink label someone and that can never change?
i don't love tatts, just on a personal level.
long, boring story ahead...

when my son was 19, he had a massive (neurosurgeon's word) brain bleed. his life was in question, and his left side was paralyzed.
God spared his life (glory to Him forever!) and after 3 months in the hospital, he regained most of the movement he had lost. it was a whole, long ordeal; he couldn't drive for a year due to seizures, was in and out of the hospital, and so on.

it's been 10 years since then, and though he can't do a pistol squat unaided with the left leg, or properly shrug his left shoulder, he's okay (thank You, Lord God). he got his first tatt at 22, which his momma wasn't too happy about ("it took me nine months to grow that skin for you!" lol)

point being, he was saved when he got that tattoo. was it right? idk, but he now has a cross, a symbol for 'see, hear, speak no evil', and some other things meaningful to him and his faith, all on the left side of his body. he says they remind him of Who saved him, and Who helped him, and you know? he does a lot of witnessing to the grace and goodness of the Lord at the gym. ;)

so i don't love tatts, but man, i love my son. it's what parents do, amirite?
we learned that from our Father, Who loves His own so dearly.

Are you serious? Seriously serious? Man, that is now part of your testimony! We all bare scars from our past transgressions...
Christ kept His scars from the cross - He showed them to the disciples, particularly to Thomas, as evidence to them that He is the very same Jesus whom they had known before He was resurrected

Like all cerimoinal laws that are used as parables we cannot judge one another in respect to them. They do not add to our salvation or prove a person has the Spirit of Christ.

Those kind of marks would just be a precursor not to think the mark 666 is literal .They do not prove a person does not have the Spirit of Christ the invisible mark of God.

He was teaching him we do not walk by sight be faithful by believing that not seen and not faithless. (no faith)

And it was not the same Jesus but the resurrected. One that could walk through walls or give a vision of a hole. Flesh and blood could never enter the kingdom of God. Tt why Christ said it could never profit as if it was Spirit not seen. The one time demonstration is over. We no longer know him after the temporal . He is not a man as us

you don't think He could do such things previously? or that He couldn't impart understanding, or didn't Himself comprehend fully the scriptures?

Then took they up stones to cast at him: but Jesus hid himself, and went out of the temple, going through the midst of them, and so passed by.
(John 8:59)

is it more amazing to appear in the middle of a room where no one is looking for you or to disappear from the center of an angry mob with hundreds of eyes intently focused on you?

to pass straight through wood or to pass straight through men?
did He not sufficiently show that He had complete power over all nature, physical and spiritual, before He submitted Himself to the cross? He regrew the flesh of lepers in an instant, by a word! He raised men dead many days! did He not reverse the corruption of decomposition when He did that? does such an act require less power than to merely enter a room?

c'mon man. have a high view of God enfleshed :)

Yes, and we especially can't judge someone regarding them when they didn't keep those ceremonial laws BEFORE they met God.

And if we are going to bring up the law that we are no longer under, we may as well counsel him to stone his disobedient children to death and stone his unfaithful wife to death. If we're going to bring the law before the man, then bring it ALL before him to accuse him. If we bring him just a part of it, he will never understand grace.

Supernatural (without a beginning) does not have natural flesh. Do you mean as if God who remains without mother and father beginning of Spirit life and end thereof was a man as us?

He left us instruction before he departed as the Son of God, not seen, the same way he came..

We do not know Christ as the Son of man .That one demonstration of God pouring out His Spirit is all that is to be expected. The veil will not be mended to be used again in anticipation of His temporal flesh . There is no promise of Him coming again for another outward demonstration of the work of the lamb of God who was slain from the foundation of the world. The demonstration is not the actual work. We walk by faith and not like Thomas the faithless, who was shown a demonstration.. to teach him not to be faithless .

2Corinthians 5:16 Wherefore henceforth know we no man after the flesh: yea, though we have known Christ after the flesh, yet now henceforth know we him no more.

c'mon man. have a high view of God not seen the eternal and not that seen the temporal.:)

2Co 4:18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

A mark on the beast but not the mark of the beast. I always think of tattooing cattle when I think of folks getting tattoos. Why not just go ahead and have a tattoo inside your mouth for identification? At least that serves a useful purpose.

If you get a tattoo you will live with the stigma all the days of your life. If you think that enhances your testimony for Christ well that is between you and the Lord.

For the cause of Christ

The humblest man I ever ran across was a crabber who was covered in tattoos. I marveled at this after I left and then I remembered the disciples were fishermen. I used to serve crabbers and fishermen when I worked at a bar on the Chesapeake Bay. They are a rowdy bunch. And this humble man I met years later looked like them but he was nothing like them. I didn't want to leave him and our conversation because I saw my Lord in him so clearly. A meek and humble man covered in tattoos is not what one expects. And what a lesson to see that he was more like my Lord than any man I had ever met in a suit and tie. If anyone could ever help the church out of their spirit of religion, it would have to be a man like that, but they would cow him by their unapproving glares and disdainful stares and judge him with law he is no longer under.

I personally would not get tattooed, and I don't
like them in general, especially on women.
I see it as graffiti on a building, I.e., vandalism.

well what does God say?

I think He says He will remember our past no more

good thing God is God and has the last say

I don't personally like tatoos, but I refer to the Bible with regards as to how I should receive people who have had tats doen ESPECIALLY prior to knowing Christ

That's a parable that requires the prescription given in 2 Cor, 4:18 to find the spiritual not seen the faith law. The spiritual understanding is hid. God does not have flesh he remains without form.
It was a joke but what do you mean Jesus has no flesh? When He returned after being crucified He had flesh. Also that Corinthians verse is talking about having faith in what we can not see, what prescription are you talking about? I am not being rude or even disagreeing, I am honestly curious. Thank you.

2 Cor 4:16-18 16 Therefore we do not lose heart. Though outwardly we are wasting away, yet inwardly we are being renewed day by day. 17 For our light and momentary troubles are achieving for us an eternal glory that far outweighs them all. 18 So we fix our eyes not on what is seen, but on what is unseen, since what is seen is temporary, but what is unseen is eternal.

KJV 2 Cor 4:15-18 16 For which cause we faint not; but though our outward man perish, yet the inward man is renewed day by day.17 For our light affliction, which is but for a moment, worketh for us a far more exceeding and eternal weight of glory;
18 While we look not at the things which are seen, but at the things which are not seen: for the things which are seen are temporal; but the things which are not seen are eternal.

2 Cor 4:10-18 AMP 11 For we who live are constantly [experiencing] being handed over to death for Jesus’ sake, that the [[b]resurrection] life of Jesus also may be evidenced through our flesh which is liable to death.

12 Thus death is actively at work in us, but [it is in order that [c]our] life [may be actively at work] in you.
13 Yet we have the same spirit of faith as he had who wrote, I have believed, and therefore have I spoken. We too believe, and therefore we speak,
14 Assured that He Who raised up the Lord Jesus will raise us up also with Jesus and bring us [along] with you into His presence.
15 For all [these] things are [taking place] for your sake, so that the more grace (divine favor and spiritual blessing) extends to more and more people and multiplies through the many, the more thanksgiving may increase [and redound] to the glory of God.
16 Therefore we do not become discouraged (utterly spiritless, exhausted, and wearied out through fear). Though our outer man is [progressively] decaying and wasting away, yet our inner self is being [progressively] renewed day after day.
17 For our light, momentary affliction (this slight distress of the passing hour) is ever more and more abundantly preparing and producing andachieving for us an everlasting weight of glory [beyond all measure, excessively surpassing all comparisons and all calculations, a vast and transcendent glory and blessedness never to cease!],
18 Since we consider and look not to the things that are seen but to the things that are unseen; for the things that are visible are temporal (brief and fleeting), but the things that are invisible are deathless andeverlasting.

Again I appreciate any response.

I have very little ink. Eyeliner...stupid. Had my daughter put a small heart on my ankle, with Dad, with a halo hanging on it...it is significant of my forgiveness to horrible autrocities and God's presence through my entire life. The pain still marks my memories but the tattoo gets people to ask and then I get to share. :)

You are definitely right and sound like a great parent. Im sorry to hear that about your son but it doesn't sound like it slowed him down in the slightest :) Some tats are purely significant and does have meaning rather than look at me art. For me the most significant is 777 on my neck. After I got that every single day to the point of being almost annoying I will see 777 written in the most random places. It makes me wonder how far can coincidence really be blamed before the realization hits that it goes so much deeper than what I can comprehend.
