Thanks for the post Blind, you really made my point. You are so totally deceived that you are ignoring the millions of people who could lose their souls because of the spreading of this false pre-trib rapture doctrine, meanwhile you are trying to lecture me on bringing life to the lost. Why don't YOU bring life to the lost? You may escape the destruction that comes from promoting the false pre-trib rapture, but the generation alive when Christ returns will suffer terribly because of it, that could be your grand children or great grand children.
This is just ludicrous, besides being in total error!
Once more: GOD DOES NOT SEND ANYONE TO HELL FOR THEIR ESCHATOLOGY!
Eschatology is merely an educated guess at what MAY happen. I do understand your frustration with people who are so vehement about a pre-trib rapture. They can get pretty annoying. I even was a member of a forum once, where everyone believed you were going to hell if you didn't believe in it. Which I did not! Why was I even there! Well, there were a lot of good topics, some nice people and other than eschatology, it was pretty biblically sound! So what happened? Well, I left as the Rapture kept spilling over into every other discussion. I didn't even tell them what I believed, I just left.
The thing is, I knew those people loved and served Jesus! Just as I know you do, Samuel. If you had ever spent time in seminary, you would have been exposed to all the viewpoints and told that NONE of them save you! Or send you to hell! As everyone has said over and over, and you don't seem to hear, only Jesus saves!
Eschatology is a side doctrine. Yes, Jesus is returning! Yes, we are awaiting his return! That is not the side doctrine. The side doctrine is the HOW! The side doctrine is thinking your end times views are important! And the utterly wrong doctrine, is thinking that anyone who doesn't believe the same thing as you about this side topic is going to hell!
The only thing important about eschatology, is being prepared for the return of Jesus Christ. That is what is in the Bible.
As for the Rapture - no such thing. Just find it in any translation of the Bible, besides Jerome's 4th century Latin, and I will concede you are right! (As for Jerome, he really had a poor working knowledge of Greek and Hebrew, which is why the Vulgate is such a bad translation!) And if it is not in the Bible, it usually is not true! And if it is not in the Bible, why would you believe it anyway!
As for the concern you show for my children and grandchildren, well, none of them are serving God. So, if you want to pray for them, pray they will turn to Christ, which is what really counts, not these imaginative guesses as to end times scenerios!
