now, lets get to the truth of the matter. (and back to the OP)

It is a case of semantics,

One groups uses the word convict.

the other uses the word chasten.

Which proves the HS according to BOTH groups is in the work of a believers life to change a persons life from that of sin and destruction to a life mature in Christ.

The only difference appears to be one groups is using it in a legalistic kind of way, the other in a discipline kind of way (an army does not focus on telling a person what is wrong, He focuses on showing a person what is right..a soldier does not have time to second guess himself, He has to know the right way to do things, or it may cost his life or the lives of his brothers in arms)

This is what I mean when I say we need to listen to people talk, and what they are saying and stop this assuming you now what everyone believes just because they may use some key word like The HS does not convict a believer..

On the front, it meay seem like a bad thing, but when you actually listen to them, you realize it is just a use of terms..

Now if they said the HS never chastens a person of Sin, We would have issues.. MAJOR issues..

EG - Your an arrogant person Peter. You show no signs you are a follower of Christ, And if you are a follower of Christ, and one of his children. You certainly do not act like it.

This makes me laugh. The op was simply hyper-grace do not believe the Holy Spirit convicts of sin.
EG cannot admit he said that was a lie, and he got it wrong.

Dear reader, EG commited himself to destroying me.
This whole setup is caused by pride, people believing their own propoganda and praise.
You know that line has been crossed when situations like this occur.

The spiritual walk is just that, a humble walk with the Lord, in honesty, openness and integrity, sharing love and acceptance.

Whatever you conclude from this or any other thread, if it does not help this walk, it has failed to be of service.
I have to thank you all from helping me to grow in Christ, whether as enemies or friends, I wish you well.

EG thankyou for being you, though you have no choice you are a unique gifted individual, who is used by God but not in the way you think, but still you serve a purpose.

As a small side note - my enemy who continually says I am not a christian, tells me I do not show the signs of faith etc. when called out for lying and getting things wrong, continues as if nothing matters.

A difficult position to maintain when the very principles of truth and honesty are what the gospel is about.

Not that I should even have to sound arrogant myself. in order to prove a point. but...

So let show what a true man of God does.

Peter said some people say they are not CONVICTED (using that word) by the HS of sin.

In this case, Peter is right, I apologize, and I was wrong .
I rest my case..

Thank you. I think that the other hyper grace believers need to step up and apologize, too, for not speaking out and correcting the false accusation. Especially Grace777x70.
I have always said that the Holy Spirit does not "convict" the believer of sin in the traditional meaning of the useage of the word that is used in some religious circles. I have always told that to Peter and you as well. I stand by what I have said. It is in all the posts. If some don't like that belief - that is up to them.

I have not denied saying it. I actually love to speak about how the Holy Spirit reveals the things that Jesus has done for us and that we are the righteousness of God in Him!

And to further prove what I say about Peter is true,, Again, not trying to puff mysef up, but to expose a person out on a witch hunt, who will not even listen to someone else.. but spouts from the flesh,

We see, Just like in the op. a difference in terms.
I say he does not ACT like a child of God, he takes me to say I say he is NOT a child of God.

just so you know. If I did not read what you really believed, and I just heard you say The HS never convicts a child of God of sin, I would have confronted you too

LOL.... I completely understand..I confronted this myself when I first heard it being spoken. It goes against what we have been taught in our religious upbringing.

The semantics of words affects people too but when we truly see the ministry of the Holy Spirit and how He reveals all that Jesus has done for us - it will change our lives dramatically.

EG - I am not sure what you are apologising of, being wrong.

Was I lying, and was it right to call me a liar? I do forgive you of this, but I do not understand how I can become the worst enemy etc. arrogant and everything you heap on me, when I am just standing for truth.

You have accused me again of not being saved. I think these issues go deeper than you care to admit.

The parable of the judgementalism is about having a plank in your own eye and straining for the speck in someone elses.
It strikes me you want to judge me for my approach and positions, calling them lies while agreeing with them which is very confusing. You need to straighten out what you believe before you can correct me.

You keep saying this, proves little...

Matthew 5:11 KJVS
[11] Blessed are ye, when men shall revile you, and persecute you , and shall say all manner of evil against you falsely, for my sake.

Luke 6:22 KJVS
[22] Blessed are ye, when men shall hate you, and when they shall separate you from their company , and shall reproach you , and cast out your name as evil, for the Son of man's sake.

Luke 6:26 KJVS
[26] Woe unto you, when all men shall speak well of you! for so did their fathers to the false prophets.
Both could be said about any body...everyone on this site have had people revile and praise them...often concerning the same statement..

Men's praise or contempt shouldn't be used to gauge Truth only God's standard works for me.

Most of the website contains truth that helps people, but I hope and pray they can discern the hook among it all.

I guess I will visit the site and see if the comments actually clarify.

This makes sense, Taking us from the law which condemns, to the law of love, It shows us how to love others, And tries to remove our focus of self. and on to others.. It is sort of like trying to show someone who made a wrong turn, not his mistake (he alread knew his mistake( but the correct action he should have taken.

Sort of like my road rage example. The Holy Spirit would not show me my sin (I already KNOW its sin) he will show me the way I should have acted (which in my experience, is most times worse than exposing my sin, It shows how still self centered I can be)
How did you already know your sin if not God first teaching you right from wrong?

Dear reader, these believers are happy to create a new theology, attack believers, then partially filter out various concepts and say they hold to this aspect and not that.

It becomes almost impossible to have a meaningful discussion, because as demonstrated here, I am wrong to point out what is the situation, and then wrong to take offense at being called a liar, and then wrong to quote scripture and show we are called to follow our Lords word and then wrong to walk righteously and love the Lord.

Why this all becomes gibberish, is because long conversations about not being sin conscious etc. and statements about it being evil to be condemned about sin because we are actually righteous in Christ become irrelevant, as if they did not happen.

Walking with Jesus is far simpler than these folk, because as grace7 put it, he uses other people to say things he believes because they say it better, but when he gets called up about it, he just says that bit he did not believe. That is being two faced and meaningless, because there is nothing solid or meaningful in that kind of discussion. But when integrity and truth mean very little, this behaviour is always 100% acceptable, and how dare you suggest otherwise you unbeliever who is speaking to a far spiritually superior being to you.

I personally hold out little hope to people in this state. But then I am not God, and there is always hope until the day of judgement.

then I am commanded likewise to treat you as a unbeliever."....

And PeterJens how did God tell us to treat unbelievers?

I am sure God commands we love and bless them and have more patience and tolerance to them. Speaking and behaving in a manner that is above reproach.

However, Jeanne is a sister and you just stomped on her feelings.

One day maybe you will apologize to her, but I won't hold my breath.

This is what I call straw man type arguments,,

or, That "I make an argument which can go both ways".. It is useless to the conversation, as it does not prove anything..

.

Like this for an example. It goes both ways.. It is not an argument which would prove either person is right or wrong. Just an argument of pride.

Notice that even after I ate crow and apologized. (Gods children have to do that from tyime to time as The HS shows them the way they should handle things,, not the way they usually do out of habit,, or changing us from the inside out) ) He still attacks me and has no proof that anything he has against me is even spoken in truth. Just his ideas, His thoughts and his beliefs..

The comments do help clarify what hyper grace believers really do believe. I read on another site a comment by one who said that only the death of Christ has redemptive power. He couldn't understand the concept that the life of Christ (along with his death) is what saves us. So this fits in with their belief that the holy spirit doesn't convict believers of sin, because sin is no longer an issue that needs to be dealt with because of Christ's death. Everything is past tense.

Quoted from PeterJens "

It's not fruitless and I don't agree with any of the above statement. You aren't wrong.

If people believe that God doesn't convict people of sin, then there is an uniting problem.

The main one so far uncovered is an extreme reaction to legalism.

Anything to do with law seems to create a reminder of how they were terrified to do wrong, lose their salvation and be tossed in hell.....

More gentleness would help instead of the wounded victim act....

Why do you do that anyway?

You aren't a victim and we all know it.

No one wants to be a victim and pitied.

In Christ we are all overcomes.

Overcome what haunts you and speak with gentleness and love.

Most sins we knew were sin even when we were unbelievers, As Paul said in romans 1, we hid the truth in and changed the truth to the lie. but there is no excuse.

God does not have to show me sin, just show me truth, If I see truth, I will see my idea of what was truth was exposed, and was sin..

He canlt do that for an unbleiever the things of God are foolish to them.. But even they know sin is sin.. they just can not understand why. (spiritually speaking)

Let it go EG, pride is a mountain stronghold that is easily offended when it starts to crumble.

Best thing for believers to do is follow Jesus and speak with gentleness and love....and jump out of the way of crashing boulders as God tears it down.

There are some simple spiritual principles you who call yourself christians yet have ignored repentance.

You are demonstrating truth no longer matters, or trying to put another another down, and then being shown up as wrong.
God is no longer your highest authority but your own understanding and teaching.

The cornerstone of the cross is sin and conviction of sin. There is no salvation without it.
I am not being arrogant or proud, boastful, or something to be torn down by preaching this, it is the gospel and life reality.

Though you started walking with Jesus, you are not their now, if you cannot bow with me before His testimony and His words. Lying is sin. Accusing a brother who is speaking the truth of lying is sin. If this means nothing to you, you have left the fellowship of believers. Upon these principles of integrity, the fact that scripture is the honest testimony of believers over thousands of years is our faith.

Every believer comes here in the belief they trust Gods word and He is not lying. So to accuse another of such a thing, and to attempt to demolish him etc. is spiritual suicide unless you have a good foundation and reason to say it.

"I am the way, the truth and the life, no man comes to the Father but by me"

God will let you carry on and reap the harvest you have sown. But the testimony of the saints stands to eternity.
And I know for many, you are impervious to the word, because you have created your own version.
Isn't this exactly what u have done to every single person on this thread.... Let's leave God to say who is right and who is wrong and be led by personal conviction.. Who has once said that "Jesus is not the way the truth and the life"? Please explain to me what u r view on coming to Jesus is.. "The method" of salvation so to speak? How would u share the Gospel with a new believer?
