It becomes almost impossible to have a meaningful discussion, because as demonstrated here,
We can;t have a meaningful discussion because people twist and turn what other people believe, think they have an argument, then judge that person or group of what mis-perceived notion..

If you do not understand what the other people are saying, and try to fight them based on this misunderstanding, all you do is cause misunderstanding, and a meaningless discussion.

You want to blame everyone else. when the problem is internal
, and your refusal to actually sit down and listen to someone without your preconceived notions of what they are going to say.

Let it go EG, pride is a mountain stronghold that is easily offended when it starts to crumble.

Best thing for believers to do is follow Jesus and speak with gentleness and love....and jump out of the way of crashing boulders as God tears it down.

Just a question sis, When people have done this for awhile. yet it continues, and not only continues, but gets worse.. SHould not the body of Christ expose this attitude, and try to do something about it, because it effects baby christians and possible non believers who visit the forums..

There was a time many moons ago when everyone tried to speak to peter in the way you are suggesting, as you can see,, There comes a time when nice talk does not work..

Got to get on with my day.

A prayer before I leave.

Dear God we lift up our brothers and sisters. Please bless their words and use their speech to edify each other and all listeners.

God you know the spiritual strongholds we need to tear down in our lives. Help us to see them and rejoice with you when the crumble to dust.

God we thank you for your loving corrections and pray that we learn to walk better in your Spirit and less by our freshly worldly desires. Help us to hear and understand you better Lord.

Please help with misunderstandings and help everyone to speak with godly wisdom and not give into to harsh words that come from the flesh for wisdom from above is always true and peaceable.

In Jesus holy name we pray, amen.

It is working...inconsistent application of grace and gentleness tears open wounds and causes healing to become slower.

Why do you speak as if 4 months is such a long time?
Sometimes it takes years.

Gotta go take the kiddos to the zoo. Cyl

Peter was proven right per his OP. Therefore, I suggest that we we drop this particular issue and move on to the next item in the list that he was accused of bearing false witness about and examine that.

He hasn't proven anything...why not stick to the topic and NOT make it about Peter

Everyone has issues that only God can heal and address.

Topic: does God convict people of sin?

Folk who haven't been abused and beaten up by legalism easily say yes....

Folks who have, say convict is too harsh a word...how about God shows us what we should have done right and doesn't dwell on what we did wrong.

Folks who would have peace say....okay if convicts gives you nightmares and reopens a hurt wound lets go with God shows us what is right when we do wrong.

UH yeah, he did very clearly prove that an accusation against him was false. That is what the OP was intended to show.

Oh if the OP was about his righteousness, then I would never entered the conversation.

I made the mistake we were talking about God based on the title.

All Peter has done was prove has placed a "twist" on the truth, and was trying to do like many have done these past few weeks and take a misunderstanding based on semantics of a word and turn it into a heated argument which never should have started to begin with

4 months? Been longer than that hasn't it. Or has 4 months been slow? Lol I have been wrong before!

i agree except this is like a church setting. No church would allow that to go on for as long as it has.. But we are not the deacons of this church, so all we can do is expose what is happening.

Have a great great time with kids, perfect day here for that. May God bless your day

then I am commanded likewise to treat you as a unbeliever."....
And PeterJens how did God tell us to treat unbelievers?
I am sure God commands we love and bless them and have more patience and tolerance to them. Speaking and behaving in a manner that is above reproach.
However, Jeanne is a sister and you just stomped on her feelings.
One day maybe you will apologize to her, but I won't hold my breath.
You are right, Jeanne may well have not known the situation, and I am sorry. I often get too involved in such discussions, and it rubs off. The other problem is within hyper-grace there is a doctrine that we should never talk about sin or confront believers about it.

So if people challenge me on this issue in this context, I will share my view. I do not see how I can have a compromise on it, but I know some are actually unaware of this but on cc this is not been my experience.

And Peter is entitled to have his own opinion about anything in the scriptures too. Some people may not agree with his beliefs and some may. Unfortunately some people think everyone is against them if they don't agree with their theology especially if this is the way we have been taught in our Christian lives and have been for years.

People can and sometimes do feel offended by anything that is outside of our "understanding". This is why it is important to have a teachable mind so that we can have our minds renewed to the truth that is in Jesus and what He has already done for us in His completed work.

The catholics that came against Luther told him that this view of scriptures has been with them for 1,300 years when Luther said "The just shall live by faith". This uproar against religious beliefs will always manifest in this type of reaction so we should not be surprised when it comes.

No, the twist is done by hyper grace teachers. Take an established concept and redefine it to something that serves their agenda.

Yes, we should confront people with sin, and not just let people think it is ok to continue in it..

Funny, Thats been going on for months now. (ariel says its been 4 months???) the sinner has yet to repent.

No.. I'm not trying to teach or correct you.. Read the message in the spirit it is written in.. I asked questions.. I didn't force my view which is what you do.. The spirit of Christ is love... Who are u to say someone isn't a believer ? That's crazy! And dangerous... You sound as though u very much have it all together and no one else has a clue.. If u read back u will see that no one else has been so directive and abusive as u have Peter
I am sorry Jenna, if I jumped at you. This is not my intention.
Talking to hyper-grace believers, saying anything about sin commited by another believer is not allowed and called condemnation a work of the enemy.

So to lay out my beliefs, I do not agree. In fact I think it is part of the ministry of the church to help people praise the Lord, deal with and work towards righteousness and love, through sharing, confession, repentance and grace.

I easily fall into a jumpy mode, when in this environment, because nothing is as it seems.
So I apologise if I upset you, showing love to each other, in real life is also about talking about difficult issues.
Most of the time I would not say anything to anyone about such subjects.

The current situation is different because it is about spiritual truth and authority, and what it means to walk with the Lord.
As this is my life, unfortunately I feel very passionately about it, but I praise the Lord I can share His great love to me and everyone, in all we do and think.

No the twist is done by people like you taking what they say, twist what they mean, and going on these which hunts (heresy killers I have heard ot called) to expose why they think is a lie, But which they do not even understand what it is.

This OP has PROVED THAT POINT!

Don't make the mistake of accusing someone of lying when you really don't know much about the subject or haven't read it somewhere. That makes you look like an accuser.

Peter, I can help you find the info to refute this charge if you would like.

You know Peter, you do many a great disservice speaking in such a way. Could you please consider that you're falsely presenting the opposing stance, for but a moment? You may disagree with their interpretation of scripture, but there is no need for misrepresentation. I am telling you, listen. You are misrepresenting the stance of the "hyper-grace" people.

If you are the honest person you believe yourself to be, then you will reconsider your approach. You will not speak falsely upon those you disagree with. This is only if you're honest. Are you honest? Then please, reconsider your approach and speak as a man informed. Study up on their stance, because you're misrepresenting them. I am asking you, can you be honest? It would be appreciated.
