If the fig tree in Matt.24:32 is figurative representing Israel, then what would make of Luke's version:
"He told them this parable: “Look at the fig tree and all the trees. When they sprout leaves, you can see for yourselves and know that summer is near. "
The mention of "all the trees" would detract from the parable representing Israel as the fig tree. The gist of the scripture is that it is just demonstrating that just as when you see the trees blossoming you know that summer is near. In the same way, when all of those signs begin to take place, then the end of the age is near.
The mentioning of the fig tree in scripture is not always referring to Israel. Most of the time in scripture a fig tree is just a fig tree.
Its not a Jeiwsh religion .
The leaves represented the healing of the nations (not the nation of he Jews alone), as common grace. (Not salvation )
The reformation had come the fruit of shadows in respect to an outward Jew not having the Spirit of Christ as a inward Jew does was cut off never to be used as a shadow and types forever more.
He spake also this parable; A certain man had a
fig tree planted in his vineyard; and he came and sought fruit thereon, and
found none. Then said he unto the dresser of his vineyard, Behold, these three years I come seeking fruit on this fig tree,
and find none: “cut it down”; why cumbereth it the ground? And he answering said unto him, Lord, let it alone this year also, till I shall dig about it, and dung it:And if it bear fruit, well: and if not, then after that thou
shalt cut it down. Luk 13:6
And on the morrow, when they were come from Bethany, he was hungry:And seeing a fig tree afar off
having leaves, he came, if haply he might find any thing thereon: and when he came to it, he found “
nothing” but leaves; for the time of figs was not yet.And Jesus answered and said unto it,
No man eat fruit of
thee hereafter for ever. And his disciples heard it.And they come to Jerusalem: and Jesus went into the temple, and began to cast out them that sold and bought in the temple, and overthrew the tables of the moneychangers, and the seats of them that sold doves; And would not suffer that any man should carry any vessel through the temple. And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves. And the scribes and chief priests heard it, and sought how they might destroy him: for they feared him, because all the people was astonished at his doctrine. And when even was come, he went out of the city. And
in the morning, as they passed by, they
saw the fig tree dried up from the roots. And Peter calling to remembrance saith unto him, Master, behold,
the fig tree “which
thou cursedst” is withered away. Mar 11:20
God created the fig tree for a special application .The fig tree bears fruit before leaves. Just as he gives us His faith so that we can beleive Him . Its when he sees the blood not when we do .
