I don't find doubt credible, neither does our Lord.
You didn't take it to the Lord but relied on your own understanding.
I have also seen a dead drunk completely restored, with no sign or smell of alcohol, nothing is too hard for the Creator of you, me and the universe.
When Holy Spirit comes in there is ALWAYS a change.
I believe that the Holy Spirit changes you from the inside.

does He keep His scars?
are they for the sake of those who doubt, that they may be believing, not unbelieving - and can there be any doubt in that day?

If He does, they will be a thing of beauty for we have been passed through as innocents because of what He did.

As far as I know there is nothing in the Word about taqttoos being of the devil, but there was a law against having them.
To me it is like having plastic surgury for reasons of vanity and not of correcting defeects. It seems to be an affront to the Father saying you made me wrong... People cause defecsts in so many by their actions .
Scripture is quite clearly against tatooes. We are to leave what God creates alone, not try to change it to man's creation.

Look at the trouble caused by changing wheat to man's creation. Our diet has changed from whole grains to processed grains, so our immune system is harmed. The world is addicted to processed carbs, they so interfere with our hormone system that handles our emotions.

God's creations are to be left as God created them. They can be enhanced but never basically changed like a tattoo changes skin.

When a person gets a tattoo today, it is only if what is in the heart for reason is evil.

We are free of the law, and especially of laws punishing or condemning those who act in innocence. God knows who is who.

Don't be afraid when you see Him act outside the box some put Him in.

Every person who gets a tattoo has an evil heart? That's an extreme absolute.

I think many people get them out of ignorance. Some get them with the intent of honoring a loved one which, to me, sounds like they're doing it out of love.

So in your opinion, was Yahweh wrong when He told His people to mar their perfectly created bodies and be circumcised? That "changed the skin".

Looks like lack of proper exegesis leads to legalism, no matter the topic.

There is cause and effect that is in operation. If you murder you go to jail, In the spiritual world the laws governing sin and grace are also in effect and nothing we do can change that.

While the fact that we live under grace frees us from the death that sin would bring about if we were under the law, but grace does not free us to sin all our flesh wants from us.

Do you think that because God ordered the skin changed to signify circumcision until Christ came with the new covenant means that God wants us to tattoo the skin? That reasoning doesn't seem right to me.

Even back in my day, peer pressure was in practice. I suppose it always has been and will be.

I think someone was responding to someone else's post...

I'm saying God allowed for change in his creation so your statement that the skin can't ever be changed is false.

As an aside, I don't agree with a person getting tattoos but I don't judge them for it. It's not something that will make or break our salvation.

God does NOT allow changes in the structure of His creation. That was what the command not to mix fabrics included. If you tattoo you are changing the skin permanently. That is not praising and blessing the Lord, that is not having respect for what the Lord gives us.

look...you can make a case for tattoos but the statement above is ridiculous

you cannot apply an extension of your own character to God. there are changes in creation ALL the time

Tattoos permanently change the skin. So does circumcision.

I couldn't care less if people want to graffiti
themselves, except if they're on any kind of welfare.
You can't afford your own groceries and
doctor visits, you can't afford tattoos!
Personally, I would never get one.
Seems totally vain and narcissistic,
and tattooed women just look skanky,
but whatever floats your boat.

If we are Christian we do not live to ourselves, to "whatever floats your boat". We are no longer our own.
