Re: Study up...

Yes -- there are a ton of them. But first, I would like someone to answer my question about Deuteronomy 32:39. Who do you believe it is referring to?
It is referring to Yahweh.

And there is no scripture calling Jesus Yahweh, there is calling angels, never Jesus. Yahweh is Hebrew and Jesus is never mentioned (by name) in the OT. There are prophecies of his coming but there is no PROOF of his being the angels called Yahweh.

Wait....what? Are you suggesting that we humans are going to be part of the Godhead?
Uh, no, scripture says we are. What does it mean to be the child of God? The family dog? What is the brother or sister of Christ, the pet iguana? Of course we are...

Mat 5:45 that you may be sons of your Father in heaven; for He makes His sun rise on the evil and on the good, and sends rain on the just and on the unjust.

1Jn 3:2 Beloved, now we are children of God; and it has not yet been revealed what we shall be, but we know that when He is revealed, we shall be like Him, for we shall see Him as He is.

Some light reading...

Okay so you think we will be divine in a Godly sense. It says we will be sons of him, not him. It says we will be like him, not him. I've done my light reading time for you to do some careful reading.

But it says that I, a disciple, or you, a disciple, will be one with God and Jesus the same way that they are one with each other. Other parts talk about how we have received "The Glory" but explain this verse in a way with the trinity that doesn't have us becoming the trinity with Jesus and God, because of it saying we will be one with them.
John 17 is no different than scriptures stating that The Righteous will be like Jesus when they die...it does not mean that we become God.

You don't become deity, as deity is not created in the first place....and we are...

John 17.19 informs the reader that the Righteous are 'sanctified' (i.e. made Holy) through The Son. This same word is used once again in Hebrews 10 in which The Son makes us Holy though the offering of His Body....again, not making us a Trinity, but acceptable to the Triune God.

You are surely not a Christian. If you are, then you are carnal and therefore you won't understand spiritual stuff. This subject is not for baby christians, its way above milk. So i guess you need to grow up. If answering you is worth it, then this might help you. Are you not a trinity yourself? If you are honest with yourself, you know you are spirit , body, and soul. If you were made inn the image of God, then God is also a trinity, but in a greater way that you cannot understand without revelation. I will try to explain trinity, and i hope its not like putting a valuable jewel on a pig's nose. Read John 1:1....in the beginning was the word, the word was with God, and the word was God. All things were made by Him (him who?).. Christ. Christ said ''i am alpha and omega'' rev 1:8,11, 21:26,22:13, compare with isa 41:4, 44:6,48:12. Isn't Jehovah saying i am first and i am last. So Jesus Christ was actually saying I am Jehovah. Isn't Christ in the form of God and equal with God? Read Phil 2:6-8. In isah 45:23, who is saying unto me every knee shaal bow and every tounue swear? And read phil 2:10 at whose name shall every knee bow. Isn't it clear that Christ is God? If you are not convinced yet, what about his name IMMANUEL ''God with us'' read also John 10:30 ''i and my father are one'' '' for there are three that bear witness in heaven, the father, the word and the holy ghost and these three are one.'' 1 John 5:7. You may want to argue further but you not win agaist the truth, they tried and failed for ages . Christ said ''i came OUT from GOD. Christ comanded his disciples to baptize in the name of the father and of the son and of the Holy Ghost'' Matt 28:19. But Peter's first message on the day of pentecost said ''repent and be baptized everyone of you in the name of Jesus Christ for the remission of sins and you shall receive the gift of the Holy spirit'' .Acts 2:38 and note that the disciples baptized in the name of the Lord Jesus'' Acts 8:38. It is the Name of the father, it is the name of the son, it is the name of the Holy Ghost. If you like, take it this way. God the Father is the Soul of God. the son becomes the flesh, body of God. And the Holy Ghost is the spirit of God. This jewel, is it worth your nose?
Actually I am a christian, we've already been over this. Christian just refers to the teachings of Jesus, which obviously I believe, I just interpret them differently than you.

And both Jesus christ can say they are alpha and omega and still not be one, here is why.

Christ is our alpha and omega. He is the only reason we have a shot at salvation.

God is alpha in omega of EVERYTHING. He creates and destroys as he sees fit.

and here's the issue with you saying God is a trinity because we are. The angels are what literally created us. Look at the creation of man, Emanuel is what creates us and it is in his (or better to say their) image we are made. "Might ones" isn't specific and doesn't have a trinity for sure. Is it possible? sure, but is that proof by any means, no. And to say sense I am these three so God is is like saying sense I have fleshly skin so he must, or sense I have a beating heart he must. At the time Emanuel created us (by decree of God) he had no flesh so even if the trinity is real, at that time we wouldn't be in his image.

Thank you for answering my question :)

I agree with you that Deuteronomy 32:39 is referring to Yahweh. I'm glad that we agree there.

Let's look at a similar verse:
Isaiah 43:12-14 (NASB)
[SUP]12 [/SUP]“It is I who have declared and saved and proclaimed,
And there was no strange god among you;
So you are My witnesses,” declares the LORD,
“And I am God.
[SUP]13 [/SUP]“Even [SUP][a][/SUP]from eternity I am He,
And there is none who can deliver out of My hand;
I act and who can reverse it?”

Who is speaking in this passage?

Like Him does not mean that we become Him. We have not existed as God from all eternity, therefore we can't just "become" God. To say that we become God is to go back to what Satan said in the garden of Eden.

So let's look at the Scriptures you posted, in context:
Matthew 5:43-48 (NASB)
[SUP]43 [/SUP]“You have heard that it was said, ‘YOU SHALL LOVE YOUR NEIGHBOR and hate your enemy.’ [SUP]44 [/SUP]But I say to you, love your enemies and pray for those who persecute you, [SUP]45 [/SUP]so that you may [SUP][ap][/SUP]be sons of your Father who is in heaven; for He causes His sun to rise on the evil and the good, and sends rain on the righteous and the unrighteous. [SUP]46 [/SUP]For if you love those who love you, what reward do you have? Do not even the tax collectors do the same? [SUP]47 [/SUP]If you greet only your brothers, what more are you doing than others? Do not even the Gentiles do the same? [SUP]48 [/SUP]Therefore [SUP][aq][/SUP]you are to be perfect, as your heavenly Father is perfect.

This verse is talking about how we are to treat one another. It is not telling us that we will become part of God.

John 3:1-3 (NASB)

3 See [SUP][a][/SUP]how great a love the Father has bestowed on us, that we would be called children of God; and such we are. For this reason the world does not know us, because it did not know Him. [SUP]2 [/SUP]Beloved, now we are children of God, and it has not appeared as yet what we will be. We know that when He appears, we will be like Him, because we will see Him just as He is. [SUP]3 [/SUP]And everyone who has this hope fixed on Him purifies himself, just as He is pure.

That is talking about our resurrected bodies. It's referring to Jesus' second coming.

But John 17 doesn't say we are being accepted or legitimized (the word I like to use for that concept), it says we will be one with him. That can either mean one of mind and will, like I am saying or how you interpret it, which I still don't have an explanation that actually goes with what it is saying.

If you deny the Triune God, then you are not Christian.

No.

Give us one, clear verse which states this....
It says Emanuel. So it depends what you think "Mighty ones" means. I interpret that as the angels, not as the trinity.

I clicked on the pdf link that John 832 provided -- it's basically a humanist/New Age/mystical/gnostic/occult description. The source of which is always the same.....

I see where you are going with this, God says he is our only savior and the Jesus actually saves us.

The way to explain it is that God decreed Jesus, or it was his will for Jesus, to save us. By that aspect Jesus literally saved us, but God planned it. It's the concept of representation. Jesus does represent God, he wasn't him though.

I have to some extent actually. It says messenger of God or angel of God. No where does it say the son.

You continue to ignore context....this is a hallmark of cults like Christadelphians...

Quote the verse.

Don't talk around it like the cults do....
