Oh! Well thats sounds about right for then. would you say that Anglican faith is what other Christians accept as Christian church because i don't want to go to a church that isnt accepted as Christian. I just wanted to have a traditional proper church without anything strange or hearesy.
Maybe my Mother was wrong after all, would you say?
thank you very much for writing this because its making it easier. was the reason they broke off from the Catholic church something that makes them acceptabel to the rest of Christianity?
I think a vast majority of Christians accept both Catholics and Anglicans as part of Christianity. I would encourage you to attend services at many of the churches in your area and ask hard questions. After visiting and prayer you can see which church you believe God is calling you to be at. :)

1. Find a church which teaches the correct Gospel. If they say we are saved by our faith in Christ alone, And those who are adopted into Gods family are eternally secure based on the work of Christ. you are ok. On the other hand, if they say salvation can be lost by not fulfilling some number of rules and regulations or sacraments. Or that those who are saved can live any way they want with no consequences, then they are not teaching the gospel of Christ.
2. Once you have found this. Then find one you are comfortable with. they should be stressing the following.

Discipleship (one on one or two getting together regularly to help in Christian growth
Fellowship. they should get together more than sundays and wed night.
Prayer. They should have regular prayer meetings (not just the wed night traditional. but groups who get together on bi-weekly or weekly basis.
Doctrine. They should be doctrinally sound, and hopefully have smaller groups (my church calls them Cell Groups) where you get into the word on a personal basis.

if you can find one of these, you will be greatly blessed.

Henry VII, the king of England at the time, wanted a divorce because his wife didn't give him a son. The Catholic Church said, that's not a valid reason to get a divorce and told him no. So he decided to split from the Catholic Church and claimed he was the head of the Church in England. After splitting from the Catholic Church, he got a divorce and remarried... a few times if I recall.

And that's the super abridged version of history!

You forgot that he also beheaded several of his wives lol. Thankfully, the Anglican church is not that concerned about politics now that people literally lose their heads :)

P.S. The pope might have been influenced not to grant the divorce by the powerful Spanish kingdom (from where Catherine of Aragon was from) and the French, both of whom invaded the Italian States during Pope Clement VII's reign.

Here is but one link to some of the many heresies of the catholic church:The Roman Catholic "Church" is Not Christian

Just look up "why the catholic church is not Christian" and you will find many sites explaining how unchristian they really are. I would stay as far away from a cathoilc church as I could, there is no slavation or truth to be found there.
God bless.

Tom
thats very very upsetting if all that is true.
I heard some of that before but some of that is directly against what the Bible does say.
Does every Catholic know those differences because the catholics i know never talk baout things like that.
if that page is true, I do not want to go to thew Catholic church, theres too much difference there, very much of that seems very wrong.

thank you for posting that Tombo. and it was short and i could read it well enough.
Thats very troubling and im not sure what to make of it! How can it all be so different? thats what i mean about all the differences. i went to a church someone said to try i went with them but it was all Jewsih and that part was different but i want worried about until they were saying they werent Christians. that part i do not understand at all, and thats wrong too.

Tombo do you know about the Anglican Church? is it acceptable to you?

that part i'm not sure i understand. well, maybe i understand what you are saying but i dont know if i can go to that many meetings.

but Thank you for posting this.

thank you V this answer because it has a simple list i can use.
and thats what i believe also.
do you know why the Catholic church isn't a Christian church then? because when i ask Catholics they say the same thing as you posted. it doesnt even have to be a catholic church i just wanted a really respectufl traditional church. maybe i should just try the Anglican Church anyway.

thanks again for answering my question. It almost ready to stop looking but maybe it can be an okay experience to just ask (truthfuly i do worry sometimes i might be getting cursed in some of the ones i went to, with some things i saw). but thats not true i just mean it just FELT that way. wrong, is what i mean to say. l

I don't know enought about the catholic curch to say much about what they do and do not do. Personally, I am not a fan of rituals (I think Jesus is more important that communion and other things), and I cannot focus for long, so I need church services that are less about the ritual, and more "energetic" wtih worship and stuff. But I think that has more to do with the people than it being catholic, methodist, baptist etc.

You may want to look into Greek Orthodox as well. They are more traditional in the catholic sense. I go to a non-denomination church that teaches more Hebraic Roots than regular non-denomination. If you really want traditional you could try a Messianic church. They teach more Jewish traditions (like what Jesus would have been doing), but they believe Jesus (or in Hebrew, Yeshua) is the christ/messiah.

lol. You misunderstood me, Those were not rules they had, But characteristics. I am sorry if you misunderstood.

I grew up in a church which just had Sundays and wed service. Had none of the other stuff. I had alot of knowledge because they had great teachings, but no application because we did not have the rest. The rest will not make you more saved or less saved, just prepare you for living in satans world.

i already posted a few times about this but i am getting worn out from deciding which church to belong to. i went to some but i didn't like what some of them were doing.
i wanted a more traditional church and i was talking to a catholic i know, and i like the catholics i know. but i saw some posts that said the Catholic faith is hearesy, which sounds bad. i heard about things in that church like praying to saints and thinsg and i don't believe in that, but don't they believe Jesus died for our sins like other churches?

i need to decide what church to go to because i feel alone and i really needa place to go to worship the Lord and be with other believers also.

can anyone give advice on this matter? which church do the people at this forum belong to?
thank you. sorry i posted already about it. on sundays i feel bad because i want to be in church but the last time i tried a church it was scary and i didnt liek what they said or what they were doing but maybe i didn't undersdtand.

its very confusing because all the churchs say something different.
marianna.
You should find a Christian church whose sole earthly authority is the Bible. Here are some things to avoid.

Denominations.
Denominations are man-made divisions, by their very definition opposed to the standards set forth in the Bible (e.g. 1 Corinthians 1:10). Anglicans, Baptists, Calvary Chapels, Methodists, Pentecostals, Presbyterians, Wesleyans, and so on and so forth are all in open disobedience to the clear biblical teachings about divisions and unity in the church and should be avoided like the plague.

False Teaching.
Make sure the things your church teaches line up with the Bible. False teaching is one of the most widespread problems in churches today, and should be avoided at all costs.

Appeal To Tradition.
This problem is found in the Roman Catholic and Eastern Orthodox Church, of course, but they aren't alone. Most Protestant churches also fall prey to this deception, holding to false man-made standards such as "confessions" and teachers like John Calvin or Martin Luther.

Lewdness.
One of the fastest-growing sources of deception in modern churches is the practice of turning the grace of God into lewdness (see Jude 3-4). These churches teach that a person can be a a homosexual, or a drunk, or sexually immoral, or a liar, or a thief, and so on and so forth, and still be a practicing Christian. Ecumenism is also a common problem among these churches, which teach that sound biblical doctrine isn't important, discarding the primary importance of God's word.

Silence.
Many churches are too "politically correct" to walk in the light and boldly proclaim the truth, and would rather allow false teachers and churches to continue to go about their business leading people down the road to perdition. If a church is unwilling to name those who slander the word of God and exhibit the identifying characteristics listed here, they should be avoided.

Covetousness.
Perhaps the most widespread corruption present in churches, both today and through the ages, is covetousness. These churches are in it for the money, and they're eager to get all of yours they can get their hands on. Stay far, far away.

Worldliness.
When the world speaks well of a church, you know they are bad news. A church who is friends with the world is the enemy of God.

Go to a Church that preaches Acts 2:38 and the infilling of the Holy Spirit. BTW only Jesus is the author and head of the Church.

You will get many opinions as to what church to go to but you should go to a church that teach all 10 of God's commandments and this is why:-
Revelation 12:17
(17) And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 14:12
(12) Here is the patience of the saints: here are they that keep the commandments of God, and the faith of Jesus.

Don't worry about it. The link posted doesn't contain accurate information about what the Catholic Church teaches. :) I pointed out a couple of links that address the first two claims from the Jesus-is-lord site. If you really do want to learn about what we Catholics believe, I cannot stress that you should just talk to your local Catholic parish priest. :) Go ahead and ask all the hard questions too, bring up your concerns you may have after reading links from others here. Examine everything you hear. Both the good and the bad. I encourage you to look into what some of the other people here post. But I would hope that you would allow yourself to look into the Catholic answers to those claims as well.

The most important thing you can do though is to pray for guidance. Remember that we should not be looking for a church that conforms to our beliefs, but rather, we should find a church that teaches what is true, and conform to its teachings.

Ask questions - very important they preach from the word of God - I had gone to a Catholic School for 8 years - I truly believe they teach that Jesus is the son of God and died for our sins - I have not attended for over 35 years - one thing I remember being taught in school is that the fear of God was a condemnation not a respect and reverence - they may have changed their teaching now - but we did not learn back then that God was a God of grace.

If you are interested you should just research some Churches in your area and talk more with your friend, local priests, nuns, or other Catholics who can answer some questions <3 I pray you find what you are looking for and God Bless!

There are lost sheep in the catholic religion.... Let us continue to call them out, may the delusion be lifted from them.

May we dazzle the light in their eyes to wake them.

Wait are you saying Catholics are wrong? Or that there are many people in the Catholic Church who call themselves Catholics and are living lives of sins? Because I know many people who call themselves Episcopalians, Baptists, Lutheran, Anglicans, Methodists, and even more who attend non-denominational Churches regularly who are living horribly sinful lives and to be honest, they don't seem to consider it much of a big deal. Everyone is different and if we don't sin then we are not human. We all sin because we are NOT perfect but God loves every single one of His children unconditionally so who are we to judge? Patience, Understanding, Hope, Faith, Love, and Penance so that are sins are washes away are key in strengthening our relationship with our Lord and only HE can judge us sinners because WE ARE ALL sinners.

I'm saying the catholic church is not of Yahvah God and Yahshua the Messiah.

I'm a sinner that accepted Yahshua the Messiah into my heart to be reconciled with Yahvah God.

It is built on pagan rituals and traditions it seeks to remove Yahvah God's name from his people.

Yes, there are many false religions having people believe it is okay to continue in Abomination....

The catholic religion is leading people away not to the truth.

There is a little truth mixed in with paganism catholic religion to pose as the " truth"

The only light in those churches is the ones hanging from the ceiling!!
